Arthur A. Wittcopp. Sunday, October 9, 1988 in Clinton:
He is survived by his wife, Mildred K. Wittcopp of
Clinton; son and daughter-in-law, Reverend William A.
Wittcopp and Theodora Wittcopp of Gates; daughter and
son-in-law, Katherine and Charles Gentry of Syracuse;
grandchildren, Cheryl (Wittcopp) Becker of Churcttville,
Chrystal Wittcopp of Chili and John, Ruth and Susan
Gentry of Syracuse; one great-grandchild and several
nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held October 12 at Acacia
Park and Rest Haven Gardens in North Tonawanda and
a memorial service was October 15 at the Martin Luther
Home in Clinton.

Arthur and Mildred Wittcopp,
residents of the Lutheran Homes
in Clinton, celebrated their 53rd
wedding anniversary June 15.
Mr. Wittcopp was born on Aug.
31, 1903; his wife was born May
24,1908. The couple were married
at Zion Lutheran Church in
Niagara Falls.
The Wittcopps have two
children, Kathryn Gentry of
Syracuse and the Rev. William
Wittcopp, a Lutheran minister in
the Rochester area.
The couple spent most of their
married life in Niagara Falls.
Mr. Wittcopp worked as a
chemical operator for the DuPont
company and Mrs. Wittcopp
worked for the Board of
Education in the Niagara
Wheatfield school system.
The couple came to Clinton in
September 1983, when they
moved into the Lutheran Home.
Mr. Wittcopp currently lives at
the Martin Luther Nursing Home
while Mrs; Wittcopp continues to
live at the Lutheran Home.

Arthur A. Wittcopp, 85, of the
Martin Luther Home died Sunday
at the home.
He was a native of the town of
Niagara and a retired employee
of the DuPont Corp. He also was
a former farmer in the Lockport
area. He was a member of the
Zion Lutheran Church of
Lockport and the Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church in Fayetteville.
He also was a member of the
DuPont Retirees Club.
He is survived by his wife,
Mildred Shafer Wittcopp; a son,
the Rev. William A. Wittcopp of
Rochester; a daughter, Kathryn
L. Gentry of Syracuse; five
grandchildren, one great
grandchild, several nieces and
nephews.
Graveside services were held
today (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m.
in North Tonawanda. Memorial
services will be Saturday at 11
a.m. at the Martin Luther
Home, 108 Utica Road.
Friends wishing may
contribute to the Martin Luther
Home. Frasier-Shepardson
Funeral Home in Syracuse is in
charge of arrangements.
