- MIDDLEPORT - Norman Raduns, 78, of Akron, died Sept. 4 at Buffalo General Hospital. Mr. Raduns was born Sept 23, 1916. He was the son of the late Gustave and Lillian Lindke Raduns. He began his auction business in 1957 starting with his father-in-law, George Karcher, and retired as an auctioneer in 1993. He retired from Akron Central School in 1979. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville, where he was a former Sunday School superintendent and a former Church Council member. He was also a member of the Royalton Historical Society, the Newstead Historical Society and the Wolcottsville Golden Agers. He and his wife, the former Vida Karcher, were married on June 22, 1940 in Akron. He was predeceased by two brothers, Elmer Raduns and Alton Raduns, and a sister, Lydia Fiegel. In addition to his wife, survivors include one son and one daughter, Thomas (Penny) Raduns of Akron, Nancy (Myron) Washil of York, Pa.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Melvin (Billie) Raduns, of Wolcottsville; a sister, Florence Fry, of Wolcottsville; two sisters-in-law, Letha Raduns of Medina and Esther Raduns of Wolcottsville, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home Inc., 38 State St., Middleport Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville. The Rev. Donald Willman will officiate and burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial gifts to the Trinity Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
