City Hospital Tuesday evening. May
14. 1939, in his 44th year. He is
survived by his wife, three sons and
five daughters, Lloyd, Katherlne,
Loralne, Nina, Bennle, Alice, Emily
and Eugene Schuler, also his father,
Fred Schuler at home, one sister,
Mrs. Helen Clemens of Buffalo, N. Y.
Funeral services will be held from
the home on the Crapsey Road,
Town of Lockport, Friday afternoon,
May 17th, at two o'clock. Interment
will be In Dyslnger's cemetery

at 9 o clock when the Rev. Anthony

ceremony in which Miss Marie C.
Metzinger of Pendleton, became
the bride of Arnold R. Boehnke. son
of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Boehnke of
Aiken Road, Lockport.
Given in marriage by her old
est brother, Kenneth, the bride
chose a traditional gown of slipper
satin trimmed with' French lace
Insets of lace and satin bows highlighted
her boat neckline and a
long train extended from her full
skirt.
ILLUSION VEIL
Chantilly lace edged her fingertip
veil of French Illusion which
was caught to a crown-style tiara
of orange blossoms. She carried
a bouquet of white rosea, lilies of
the valley and a white orchid and
the groom's gift, a rhinestone neck
lace and matching earrings, com
pleted her costume.
Miss Lucille Metzinger was her
sister's maid of Honor in an or
chid marquisette gown. The bridesmaids,
Mrs. Irma Schultz, the
Misses Thelma and Gertrude Metzinger
and Miss Shirley Boehnke,
were gowned alike in yellow mar
quisetta and were matching gauntlets
and net hats. The attendants
carried bouquets of y e l l ow
roses, orchid sweet peas and
of the valley.
Kenneth Metzinger was best man
and Donald and Otto Boehnke. Bu
gene Meteinger and Henry Schultz
ushered.
The bride's mother wore a sheer
black crepe while the groom's
mother was attired in a navy blue
crepe. Both accented their gownr
with white accessories and orchid
corsages.
After a wedding breakfast for 22
guests at the bride's home, a dinner
for 25 guests was served at
Klein's restaurant. Pendleton. In
the evening a reception to 350 relatival
and friends was held at the
WendelvUle Fire Hall.
RED GABARDINE SUIT
Mrs. Boehnke chose a red gabardine
suit complemented by white
accessories and a white orchid for
a wedding trip to the New Eng
land States. On their return t he
couple will beat home at 221 Getzville
Road, Snyder.
The bride attended Lockport High
School, and the groom, who attended
North Tonawanda High School
served with the Marines during
World War II.
Prenuptial parties included bedroom,

and variety and personal showers
and a dinner after rehearsal.

Arthur C. Linderman, 70, of
293 Pine St., a retired Harrison
empoye, died this morning
(May 17, 1967) at Lockport Me-
morial Hospita where he had
been a patient for two weeks
He was born March 21, 1897
in the Town of LOckport, a son
of George and Mary Meincke
Linderman,, and was a lifelong
resient of this area.
Mr. inderman retired in 1963
as a millwright from Harrison
Radiator Division, General Mo-
tors Corp. Since June, 1964 he
had worked in the maintenance
department at Niagara County
Courthouse.
He was a member of Niagara
County Civil Defennse Police
Surviving are his widow, Mrs.
Anna B. Linderman; a daughter
and three sons , Mrs. Robert
Root, Paul A., Robert H.. and
Eugene R. Linderman,, all of
Lockport; two brothers, Eward
C., and Alfred G. Linderman of
Lockport and a sister, Mrs..
William Andres of Tonawanda;
also 15 grandchildren and two
great - grandchildren..

Van Buren St., died today (May 17, 1969) at Lockport
Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She had been a
patient at the Hilltop Nursing Home at-GasportJar the
last year.
A native of Brazil, Ind., she
was born Sept. 13, 1894, the
daughter of John and Catherine
Dues Schratz.
A homemaker, she was the
widow of Joseph Loiars who
died in 1958. She was a member
of St. Joseph's Church.
She is survived by two daughters,

Brookins Blckford. 76 years old, of
the Town Line road, died last night,
following a brief Illness. She was
born ln the town of Porter and came
here 57 years ago, when she married
the late W. Edgar Bickford, and had
resided here since.
Mrs. Bickford was active ln . the
W. C. T. U. and for many years was
a Sunday school teacher ln the
Presbyterian church. She Is survived
by two daughters, Mrs. Lonson Stevens
and Mrs. Mazle Upton, both of
Wilson; one son. Olenn, of Erie, Pa.;
13 grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held
tomorrow, with the Rev. I. W. Jones,

A pretty June wedding was
solemnized Sunday evening at the
Christ Episcopal church when Miss
Helen M. Jex of 248 Clinton street,
was united in marriage to Francis
D. Bewley, the Rev. H. Irvine Lynds
officiating.
Carle ton Drew played the organ
and "At Dawning" was rendered by
MLss Mildred Matthews. The church
decorations were roses and pink and
white peonies.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, Frederick Jex, was
charming in a beautiful white Queen
Anne lace gown made in princess
style with a long train over white
satin. Her long veil of illusion fell
gracefully from a lace cap caught to
a halo of orange blossoms. She wore
white satin sandals and carried a
shower bouquet of white roses, lilies
of the valley and gypsophila.
She was attended by her sister,
Miss Freda Jex, as maid of honor.
Her gown of white mousseline de sole
was made with tight bodice and
swing skirt. She wore an orchid
picture hat and orchid satin slippers.
She carried an arm bouquet
of talisman roses orchid sweet
peas and gypsophila.
Mrs Donald Luff of North Ridge
and Mrs. Harold Towns of Middleport,
sisters of the bride, and Miss
Mildred Bewley. sister of the groom,
were bridesmaids. Their gowns
were fashioned on pricess lines,
Mrs. Luff wearing pink mousseline
de soie with blue slippers. Mrs.
Towne wearing blue mousseline de
soie with pink slippers. Each car-
ried an arm bouquet of pink roses
and delphinium. Miss Bewley wore
acquamarine with white sippers, her
bouquet being of talisman roses and
delphinium. each bridemaid wore
a flowered halo of roses and sweet
peas to match her bouquet.
The bride's mother wore a gown

George Bewley and Charles Bewley,
brothers of the groom, acted as
ushers.
Following the ceremony a recep-
tion was held at the Park hotel for
immediate members of the family.
Covers were laid for 30 at the
bride's table, which was decorated
with baskets of white and pink
roses and white candles in silver
holders. The attendants' boouquets
were placed along the center of the
table and a bride's cake was placed
at one end.
Mr. and Mrs. Bewley left for a
trip to New York City, Atlantic City
and Washington. The bride's travel-
ing gown was a peach wool suit with
brown accessories.

Daniel E. Brong, 31, of 175 Waterman
St., died Monday night in
Buffalo General Hospital where he
underwent an operation on Tuesday.
He was born in Columbus, son of
Parker Brong and the late Nora
Wentworth Brong. His paternal
grandfather, the late Daniel Brong,
was a Lockport attorney and former
assistant attorney general of the
state.
Mr. Brong was employed several
years by the Grant Dry Cleaning
Company and for the past nine
years was employed in the standards
department of the Harrison
Radiator Division of General
Motors Corporation.
Surviving besides his father are
his wife, Thelma Charles Brong; a
daughter, Linda Margaret Brong;
four sisters, Mrs. David Knox, Mrs.
Henry Stevens and Mrs. Oliver Pels,
Lockport and Mrs. Clarence Blackley,
Gasport; and two brothers,
Karl Brong, Lockport and Rea
Brong, Gasport.
Funeral services will be held
Thursday at 2:30 at the Kennedy
Funeral Home, 122 Walnut St.
Burial will be in Cold Springs
Cemetery.

Main St., Lyndonville, died Thursday
(May 18, 1961) in Medina Memorial
Hospital, where she had
been a patient for a week, following
a stroke.
Born in the Town of Somerset
June 2, 1872, she was the daughter
of John and Minnie Foss.
March 4, 1895, she was married
to Chris Bergeman of the Town
of Yates. Mr. Bergeman died in
1940.
She was amember of St. John's
Lutheran Church at County Line.
She is survived by three daughters,
Mrs. Fred Voelker, Y a t e s
Center; Mrs. Sidney Engall and
Mrs. Arthur Klino, both Lyndonville;
a brother, Leo Foss, Lyndonville;
and five sisters, Mrs.
Frederick York, Corry, Pa.; Mrs.
Evelyn Payne, Medina; Mrs. Harry
Westcott, Lockport; Mrs. Viola
Henion and Mrs. Lewis Cole,
both Lyndonville. Eight grandchildren,

survive her.

Funeral services were held yes-
terday afternoon for William E
Branch, commission merchant and
produce dealer, at his home on the
Hess road, town of Newfane, and
burial was in Wright's Corners
cometTV. The death of Mr. Branch
last Thursday removed one of the
best known and most prominent
fruit dealers of the Niagara fruit
belt of a few years aeo.
Mr. Branch had been engaged in
the commission business for the past
forty years, and during that time
was one of the biggest operators in
this part of the country, the fruit
bearing his labels going to practically
every part of the United States
and Canada and foreign countries.
He retired from active business
about a year ago and had been in
failing health for several months.
He was born on the Hess road, on
a farm about a mile from the home
where he passed away Thursday.
His parents were pioneer residents
of the town of Newfane. When he
was two years old, they removed to
Michigan, but returned to Niagara
county when Mr. Branch was fifteen
He engaged In farming for a short
time and then entered the commission
business.
Operated in Lockport.
At various times he maintained
offices in Lockport, Newfane and
Gasport, and at one time was in
business with a son. In the ownership
and operation of a cold storage
plant at the latter place. He
deail chiefly in apples, shipping
many thousands of barrels from this
counts-, but in the Sprina and early
summer mon'hs he made annual
trips through the south as the representative
of the C. C. Taft company
of Des Moines, Iowa, buying
strawberries, tomatoes and other
fruit and produce. He was weD
known from Virginia to Texas.
He was a member of the Tuscarora
Club of this city, the Macabeee
and a former member of Lock-
I port Lodge. B. P. O Elks. Funeral
services were conducted by Rev.
Charles B. Bates, pastor of the Free
Methodist church of this city, where
Mr Branch was an attendant.
The bearers were. Dennis W. Daly,
John F. LeVan and Tomothy J.
OShaughnessy of this city and Benjamin
Richards. William Shaw and
William Cole of Newfane.
He leaves his widow, Martha L.
Branch, two sons. Ohm W, and
Charles W. Branch, and four daughters.

A beautiful Fall wedding was solemnized when Miss
Janice M. Fogle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman B. Fogle of
156 Erie street, became the bride of Walter E. Blackman, son
of Mr- and Mrs. Walter Blackman of Cambria, Wednesday
evening at 6 o'clock in Plymouth Congregational church, the
Rev. Harry H. Bergen performing the ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a gown of white
clipper satin made with a train and
finger-tip veil caught with orange
blossoms She carried white Killarney
roses and gypsophlla.
Miss Helen Blackman of Cambria
was maid of honor wearing old rose
raolre taffeta and the Misses Margaret
Hoffmaster and Flora Brown
were bridesmaids, wearing blue
moire taffeta gowns. Miss Blackman
carried pink and white Killarney
rases and the bridesmaids
carried pink briarcllff roses and
gypsophila.
Glen Brick of Cambria was best
man and ushers were Raymond
Hoag of Niagara Falls and James
and Edward Murtaugh of Lockport.
Mrs. Helen Webb played the
wedding music and Elmer Om of
Cambria sang "I Love You Truly"
and "Because."
Mrs. Fogle wore a gown of brown
and tan suede lace and Mrs. Blackman
wore plum color trimmed with
sequins. Both wore corsages of roses.
Church decorations were of chry-
santhemurm and ferns, the church
being lighted with tapers. A wedding
supper was served at the Tuscarora
club, 50 guests attending.
Decorations there were of chrysanthemums,
roses and ferns.
Eight were seated at the bridal
table, centered with a large wedding
cake and roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Blackman left for
New York, Mrs. Blackman traveling
in a suit of maroon with black accessories.
While In New York they
attended the Army-Notre Dame
game on Saturday. The couple will
be at home after Dec. 1 In Cambria.
Out-of-town guests included Mr.
and Mrs. William Hoag and family
of Niagara Falls, Miss Daisy Blackman
and Herbert Blackman of Buffalo,
Miss Mftbel Fogle of Medina,

LYNDONVILLE - Fred C. Benteen,
68, West Lake Shore Road
farmer, died Tuesday at his home
exactly five weeks after the death of
his son, Albert Benteen.
Mr. Benteen was born in Wolcottsville
on Aug. 21, 1784 but had lived
most of his life in the Town of
Yates.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Lavina
Waterson Benteen, he leaves two
daughters, Mrs. Stanley Youn-, Medina;
Mrs. Mayfleld Williams, Waco,
Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Cummings,
Wolcott; Mrs. Pauline Bartell,
Akron; Mrs. Ella Beach. Lockport;
Mrs, Reaka Leoschke, Lockport;
a brother, William Benteen,
Royalton Center; several nieces and
nephews.
Rites will be held Friday at the
home at 2:30, the Rev. Edward P.
Gill, pastor of Lyndonville Methodist
Church, officiating Burial will

formerly of Lockport, who died
Tuesday in Buffalo after a brief
illness, will be held Friday at 9:30
at the home, 66 Rugby Rd., Buffalo,
and at 10 o'clock at St. Margarets
Church, Buffalo,
Mr. Dolphin was employed by the
Harrison Radiator Division of General
Motors Corporation in Lockport.
He was a past exalted ruler
of Lockport Lodge, 51, BPOE.
Surviving are his wife, Anna L.
Bartenstein, formerly of Lockport;
a daughter. Anna Marie Dolphin;
two sons, John J. and Thomas F.

Two Lockport men and a
Buffalo sailor were killed and
another Buffalo Navy veteran
was injured seriously Saturday
midnight in a head-on collision
between two automobiles on
Transit Road near the Cobble
stone School.
The dead are:
John lesie Cummings, 50, RD
3, Transit Road near Dundee Road,
Lockport.
Clarence Julian Gordon Sr., 43,
Negro, a neighbor of Cummings.
Ernest A. Maddox, 34, of 471 Uni-
versity Ave., Buffalo.
The injured veteran is:
Frank W. Davidson, 27, also of 471

University Ave., Buffalo, who suffered
a cerebral concussion and
multiple abrasions. He was taken
to Lockport City Hospital where attendants
today reported his condition
"fair."
A World War I veteran, Cummings
was killed instantly. Maddox died
in City Hospital Sunday at 3:56 A.
M., and Gordon at 6:30 A. M.
Both Cummings and Gordon were
employed by George bewley. Lockport
contractor. MaMdox and Davidson
served in the Navy during World
War II. The latter was discharged
last Wednesday and Maddox, also
recently discharged, had been living
temporarily with the Davidson
family.
Sheriff Henry E. Becker, who is
continuing his investigation of the
tragic accident, today reported no
witnesses have been found. He ques-
tioned Davidson briefly Sunday
afternoon at the hospital, but the
veteran's condition prevented him
from giving an account.
To Resume Questioning

"This afternoon I hope to be able
to question the veteran again,"
Sheriff Becker said. So far we
have only meager details. Both cars
were badly smashed. They wen
still in the middle of the highway
when deputies arrived at the scene.
The deputies reported Cummlngs
body was jammed under the dashboard.
The vet's father, Cecil O. Davidson,
visited him Sunday afternoon
and again today.
Summoned by a phone call from
a man calling from a Transit Street
restaurant. Sheriffs Deputies Albert
Haner, of Wilson, and Victor
Van Den Bosch, of Lewiston. arrived
at the scene Sunday at
12:20 A. M. The dead and injured
were brought here m the Kennedy
ambulance and the ears were towed
to Heuston's Service Station, State
Road at Prospect Street.

Mrs. Walter Korff, Gasport, a sister
of Cummings, said Sunday that
she had been "out of touch" with
her brother for some time and did
not know where he was living until
informed of the accident.
Cummings Served Overseas
Born March 9, 1896, at Akron,
Cummings served in France during
World War I. He Is survived by two
other sisters, Mrs. August Wruck,
Akron, and Mrs. Grace Hall, Allegany,
and two sons, Howard, U. S.
Army, and Kenneth, Lockport His
wife, Mrs. Bertha Benteen Amlong
Cummings, died some time ago.
Gordon leaves his wife, Mrs.
Theresa Wimby Gordon, seven children,
including 32-month-old twins;
his father, Henry James Gordon,
Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah
Andrews. Tulsa, Okla.
Mrs. Gordon related Sunday that
her husband and Cummings rode to
and from work together. Mr. Gor-
don formerly was employed as a
furnace man by the american
Magnesium Corporation, Buffalo,
for five years.

The bride's gown was of embroidered
nylon net over taffeta
fashioned with fitted bodice and:
illusion,, neckline, long pointed'
sleeves and a full skirt. Her white
fingertip veil was caught to a cap
of white lace trimmed with seed
pearls and she carried a bouquet,
of white roses and carnations.
Mrs. James Dalgler of Olcott
was matron of honor and wore a
ballerina-length gown of yellow taffeta
and nylon net, and carried a
bouquet of yellow carnations.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father, and Donald C. Bowler,
brother of the bridegroom, acted
as best man.
A wedding breakfast to 40 was
served at Hotel Stonecroft, Buffalo,
where the reception for125 was
held from 2 to 5 o'clock. Refreshments
were served from a table
centered with a four-tiered wedding
cake with white tapers in crystal
holders on either side.
For a wedding trip to the New
England States the bride chose a
tailored suit of pink with white
accessories and a corsage of white
roses.
After May 24 the couple will
make their home in Wilson.

Fred Bluckhorn, a life-long resident
of Tonawanda, dropped dead in the
lumber shed of the Transfer Lumber
and Shingle company. Main street,
late Saturday afternoon. Bluckhorn
was stricken with heart failure while
working. A physician was called but
Bluckhorn died within a few minutes
after being stricken. The funeral was
held this afternoon from the home of
his siter, Miss Minnie Bluckhorn,
213 Morgan street, and was private

William Borchert, 90, waa burled
in Evergreen Lawn cemetery Monday
afternoon. Mr. Borchert died
suddenly Friday morning, having
been in good health up to the time
of his death.
He resided on the Carney road,
north of Akron, where his daughter,
Effie, and sons, Marvin and Roland,
made their home.
Besides these he leaves two sons,
Frank and Lester, and two daughters,
Mrs. Edna Blacklock, and Mrs.
Leinlnger; also six grandchildren.

Mrs. Elizabeth Wyles. 94. died
Sunday morning (May 20, 1956) in
Odd Fellows Home, where she had
been a patient for the past three
years.
A native of Churchville, Ontario,
she was born Nov. 17, 1961, daugh-
ter of Abraham and Jane Little
Argue. The family moved from
Canada to Lockport in 1888, later
operating a farm in Wright's Sta-
tion. He husband, Thomas Wyles,
died in 1939.
Mrs. Wyles was the mother of
the late Oscar and Hollis Wyles
and Mrs. Dean K. Swick. She is
susrvived by one sister, Mrs.
Charles Finley of Lockport, five
grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren
Services will be Wednesday aft-
ernoon at 3 o'clock in Prudden &
Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee
St., with the Rev. Ritchard E. Ly-
on, First Baptist Church, officiat-

Mrs. Frances Merle Bewley, 53
years old, wife of Richard Bewley,
died at a o'clock this morning at her
home In Lake avenue after an extended
Illness. Three years ago
she suffered a stroke which left her
an Invalid. Since then she had
two other strokes, the last occurring
yesterday.
Mrs. Bewley was born In Lockport
on July 25, 1375, the daughter
the late Mr. and Mrs. George
Stegman. She was a member of
Myrtle Lodge, 54, Daughters of Rebekah
and Mary Carrier Guild of
Christ Episcopal church. Although
unable for some tune to take an
active part In the activities of these
organisations she bore her long illness
with a fortitude and cheerfulness
which seemed remarkable to
her many friends.
Surviving Mrs. Bewley, besides
her husband are two daughters and
four eons, Mrs. Herman Smith,
George R. Bewley, Charles 0. Bewley,
Joseph H. Bewley, Francis D.
Bewley and Mildred M. Bewley, all
of Lockport. and one brother,
Charles Stegman, of Long Beach,
Calif.
Funeral services will be held Friday
afternoon at 3 o'clock at Christ
church, Market and Vine streets.
Burial will be in Cold Springs

with satin bodices, sweetheart

roses appliqued on the net skirts.
Their picture hats were of net and
they carried Colonial bouquets of
yellow roses outlined with white
carnations. Shirley Pencille of
Lockport was flower girl.
Lauri Belliveau was best man
and ushers were Herve Belliveau
and Chester Jaroszewski.
The bride's mother wore a navy
blue dress and the groom's mother
a dress of squa net. Both wore
pink roses.
RECEPTION TO 300
Fourteen were seated at the
bridal table for a wedding breakfast
served in the Rose Room at
CIO Memorial Hall, a centerpiece
of cut flowers decorating the table.
Bouquets of cut flowers also
decorated Pulaski Hall, where a

reception to 300 guests was held.
The couple left for an eastern
trip, the bride wearing a navy
ruit with a corsage of red roses.
They will make their home at 1
Elm Court.
The groom served with the U.S.
Navy for two and one-half years.

A Beattie Avenue woman who
came to Lockport as a young
girl from Czechoslovakia died
at Lockport Memorial Hospital
Friday, (May 21, 1965).
Mrs. Louise Bihn. 64, of 268
Beattie Ave., had been ill for
about 5 months.
Born the daughter of William
Zeman and Louise Kolar on May
13, 1901, she left her native land
and came to Lockport where she
met and married John Bihn,
who survives her.
Mrs. Bihn was a member of

p.m. where funeral services will
be held Monday at 9 a.m. The
Rev. Ivan Orloff will officiate.

SANBORN - Mrs. Mabel
Bower Snyder will celebrate
her 90th birthday tomorrow at
the home of her son and daughter-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Snyder of Indianapolis, Ind.
Bom May 23. 1879 in the
Town of Cambria, she came to
Sanborn at the age of 6 with
her twin sister, May, their parents,
the late Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Bower, and brother, H
Lyle Bower. The family made
their home on Townline Road
She resided in Sanborn until
She married George Snyder,
who was principal and teacher
at Saborn Elementary School.
They moved to Allentown, Pa.
and later to Alden. Mr. Snyder
died in 1961.
Mrs. Snyder's twin sister,
Mrs. George (May) Zink died
about 10 years ago.
Mrs. Snyder enjoys good
health and at Christmas traveled
alone by plane to this area
to visit her brother, Lyle Bower
and family, West Street,
and her other son, Herbert Snyder,
and family of Aldrn

and three great - grandchildren.

son where he had lived for 60 -years

James Frederick Boyer, son of

Hosmer Road. Gasport, was solemnized
at 10 o'clock Saturday
morning in St. Patrick's Church.

adorned with roses and gladioli
A gown of white nylon net over
nylon taffeta was worn by the
bride for the ceremony, and her
fingertip veil also was of nylon
net. She carried white carnations
and lily-of the-valley with white
satin streamer.
Miss Patricia Yanicki was maid
of honor in a gown of blue net with
matching mitts and headpiece. She
had a pink rose bud and carnation
corsage.
The best man was Robert Tomaino,
and Richard Tomaino of
Burt and Larry E. Harris were
ushers.
Mrs. Canaski chose a dress of
black crepe and Mrs. Boyer a
black and white print. Each wore
accessories to match her dress
and a corsage of pink carnations
and rose buds.
A wedding dinner was served at
the Wright's Corners Hotel.
The bride favored a brown box
suit with pink accessories and a
white carnation corsage for travel-
ing. The couple will reside at 48
Cottage Street.
The bride and groom both at-
tended Lockporrt school, the
groom serving with the U.. S. Ma-
rine Corps,, overseas, with a cor-
poral rating.

Born Nov. 11. 1875 in Lyndonville,
Mr. Bayne moved to Lockport
in the early 20s, then to Hastings
in 1925.
A retired barber, Mr. Bayne
is survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Claude P Hart and Mrs.
Donald A. Richards; two sons,
Lloyd L. Bayne and Milton W.
Bayne, all of Lockport; three
grandchildren, five great - grandchildren
and several nieces and
nephews.
Burial will be in Hastings.

NEWFANE, May 25 - Joseph
Dixon, 65, McKee Road, former superintendent
of highways in Newfane
township, died suddenly at
noon today while driving home in
bit automobile on Mam Street
from work at the Lockport Felt
Company. He slumped down in
I the seat and tbe car crashed into
a tree in front of Newfane Central
School. The car was damaged.
Dr. Mabel Carmer. coroner, issued
a certificate of death due to
a heart affliction.
His wife, Florence Brandt Dixon
survives.

for Joseph Dixon, 65, McKee Road
who died Friday noon of a heart
attack in his automovile hwille re-
turning home from work at the
Lockport Felt Company, will be
held Monday at 2:30 at the Corwin
Funeral Home, 27 North Main St.
Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery.
Mr. Dixon was born in Newfane
son of Joseph and Anna O'Dadald
Dixon, and had been a farmer in
the town for many years. At one
time he served as highways super-
intendent of the town.
Mr. Dixon was driving his auto-
mobile when stricken and was
found dead after the automobile
left the highway and struck a tree
near Newfane School. He had
had several previous attacks.
Besides his wife,, Florence Brandt
Dixon he leaves a brother, John
Dixon and a sister,, Miss Mary
Dixon, both of Niagara Falls.

Theodore Baudendistel, 73. died at
10:30 o'clock Monday night at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur
W. Karsten, Pisk road, town of
Pendleton. He had been in poor
health for some time. A few days
ago he contracted plural pneumonia
which resulted ln his death.
Bom in Ulm, Germany. Dec. 5,
1861, Mr. Baudendistel came to the
United States when 23 years old.
After two years in Buffalo he came
to Lockport where he made his home
hi South Transit street until about
one year ago. Prior to his retirement
in 1933 he was employed at
the Niagara Textile company.
Besides his daughter ln Pendleton,
he leaves a daughter, Mrs. John
Blake of this city; one brother Roman
Baudendistel of Lockport, three
sisters in Germany, 12 grandchildren
and three great grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday
morning at 8:15 o'clock at the Karsten
home and at 9 o'clock at St.
Mary's church, this city. Burial will
be in St. Mary's cemetery.

lace and nylon net over satin.
She carried a Colonial bouquet
of demure rosebuds.
Mrs. Bruce Kanehl of Lockport,
cousin of the bride, was matron of
honor. She wore an orchid taffeta
waltz-length gown with matching
nylon net stole and carried a Colonial
bouquet of orchid carnations
and shasta daisies.

was best man for his brother and
the ushers were Robert Woodburn
of Newfane and Bruce Kanehl.
The church and ball were decorated
with lilacs and snapdragons

for a wedding trip to the South.

at a bridge luncheon and linen

Kramer at Reicherts Tea Room in

The guests were seated at one long
table centered with pink roses, the
place of the guest of honor, marked
with a corsage of pink eweetpeas
and alien of the valley. After the
luncheon three tables of bridge were
at play, the favors going to Miss
Dean, Mrs. John Mayer and Miss
Lucille Layer.
The hostess wore a charming
gown of f i s h colored lace made on
princess lines, the tiny belt decorated
with a brilliant buckle. The
guest of honor looked lovely In a
gown of powder blue trimmed with
a wide collar of ecru lace.
