Anthony Nichter officiated at a double ring ceremony in which Miss Marie C. Metzinger of Pendleton, became the bride of Arnold R. Boehnke. son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Boehnke of Aiken Road, Lockport. Given in marriage by her old est brother, Kenneth, the bride chose a traditional gown of slipper satin trimmed with' French lace Insets of lace and satin bows highlighted her boat neckline and a long train extended from her full skirt. ILLUSION VEIL Chantilly lace edged her fingertip veil of French Illusion which was caught to a crown-style tiara of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white rosea, lilies of the valley and a white orchid and the groom's gift, a rhinestone neck lace and matching earrings, com pleted her costume. Miss Lucille Metzinger was her sister's maid of Honor in an or chid marquisette gown. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Irma Schultz, the Misses Thelma and Gertrude Metzinger and Miss Shirley Boehnke, were gowned alike in yellow mar quisetta and were matching gauntlets and net hats. The church decorations were roses and pink and white peonies. The bride, given in marriage by her father, Frederick Jex, was charming in a beautiful white Queen Anne lace gown made in princess style with a long train over white satin. Her long veil of illusion fell gracefully from a lace cap caught to a halo of orange blossoms. She wore white satin sandals and carried a shower bouquet of white roses, lilies of the valley and gypsophila. She was attended by her sister, Miss Freda Jex, as maid of honor. He was born in Columbus, son of Parker Brong and the late Nora Wentworth Brong. His paternal grandfather, the late Daniel Brong, was a Lockport attorney and former assistant attorney general of the state. Mr. Brong was employed several years by the Grant Dry Cleaning Company and for the past nine years was employed in the standards department of the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors Corporation. 10119 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 5/2/1932 Funeral services were held yes- terday afternoon for William E Branch, commission merchant and produce dealer, at his home on the Hess road, town of Newfane, and burial was in Wright's Corners cometTV. The death of Mr. Branch last Thursday removed one of the best known and most prominent fruit dealers of the Niagara fruit belt of a few years aeo. Mr. Branch had been engaged in the commission business for the past forty years, and during that time was one of the biggest operators in this part of the country, the fruit bearing his labels going to practically every part of the United States and Canada and foreign countries. He retired from active business about a year ago and had been in failing health for several months. He was born on the Hess road, on a farm about a mile from the home where he passed away Thursday. His parents were pioneer residents of the town of Newfane. When he was two years old, they removed to Michigan, but returned to Niagara county when Mr. Branch was fifteen He engaged In farming for a short time and then entered the commission business. Operated in Lockport. At various times he maintained offices in Lockport, Newfane and Gasport, and at one time was in business with a son. In the ownership and operation of a cold storage plant at the latter place. He deail chiefly in apples, shipping many thousands of barrels from this counts-, but in the Sprina and early summer mon'hs he made annual trips through the south as the representative of the C. C. Taft company of Des Moines, Iowa, buying strawberries, tomatoes and other fruit and produce. He was weD known from Virginia to Texas. He was a member of the Tuscarora Club of this city, the Macabeee and a former member of Lock- I port Lodge. B. P. O Elks. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Charles B. Blackman, son of Mr- and Mrs. Walter Blackman of Cambria, Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock in Plymouth Congregational church, the Rev. Harry H. Bergen performing the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white clipper satin made with a train and finger-tip veil caught with orange blossoms She carried white Killarney roses and gypsophlla. Miss Helen Blackman of Cambria was maid of honor wearing old rose raolre taffeta and the Misses Margaret Hoffmaster and Flora Brown were bridesmaids, wearing blue moire taffeta gowns. Miss Blackman carried pink and white Killarney rases and the bridesmaids carried pink briarcllff roses and gypsophila. Glen Brick of Cambria was best man and ushers were Raymond Hoag of Niagara Falls and James and Edward Murtaugh of Lockport. Mrs. Helen Webb played the wedding music and Elmer Om of Cambria sang "I Love You Truly" and "Because." Mrs. Fogle wore a gown of brown and tan suede lace and Mrs. Blackman wore plum color trimmed with sequins. Both wore corsages of roses. Church decorations were of chry- santhemurm and ferns, the church being lighted with tapers. A wedding supper was served at the Tuscarora club, 50 guests attending. Decorations there were of chrysanthemums, roses and ferns. Eight were seated at the bridal table, centered with a large wedding cake and roses. Mr. and Mrs. Blackman left for New York, Mrs. Blackman traveling in a suit of maroon with black accessories. While In New York they attended the Army-Notre Dame game on Saturday. The couple will be at home after Dec. 1 In Cambria. 10127 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 5/20/1946 Two Lockport men and a Buffalo sailor were killed and another Buffalo Navy veteran was injured seriously Saturday midnight in a head-on collision between two automobiles on Transit Road near the Cobble stone School. The dead are: John lesie Cummings, 50, RD 3, Transit Road near Dundee Road, Lockport. Clarence Julian Gordon Sr., 43, Negro, a neighbor of Cummings. Ernest A. Maddox, 34, of 471 Uni- versity Ave., Buffalo. The injured veteran is: Frank W. Davidson, 27, also of 471 University Ave., Buffalo, who suffered a cerebral concussion and multiple abrasions. He was taken to Lockport City Hospital where attendants today reported his condition "fair." A World War I veteran, Cummings was killed instantly. Maddox died in City Hospital Sunday at 3:56 A. M., and Gordon at 6:30 A. M. Both Cummings and Gordon were employed by George bewley. Lockport contractor. MaMdox and Davidson served in the Navy during World War II. The latter was discharged last Wednesday and Maddox, also recently discharged, had been living temporarily with the Davidson family. Sheriff Henry E. Becker, who is continuing his investigation of the tragic accident, today reported no witnesses have been found. He ques- tioned Davidson briefly Sunday afternoon at the hospital, but the veteran's condition prevented him from giving an account. To Resume Questioning "This afternoon I hope to be able to question the veteran again," Sheriff Becker said. So far we have only meager details. Both cars were badly smashed. They wen still in the middle of the highway when deputies arrived at the scene. The deputies reported Cummlngs body was jammed under the dashboard. The vet's father, Cecil O. Davidson, visited him Sunday afternoon and again today. Summoned by a phone call from a man calling from a Transit Street restaurant. Sheriffs Deputies Albert Haner, of Wilson, and Victor Van Den Bosch, of Lewiston. arrived at the scene Sunday at 12:20 A. M. The dead and injured were brought here m the Kennedy ambulance and the ears were towed to Heuston's Service Station, State Road at Prospect Street. Mrs. Walter Korff, Gasport, a sister of Cummings, said Sunday that she had been "out of touch" with her brother for some time and did not know where he was living until informed of the accident. Cummings Served Overseas Born March 9, 1896, at Akron, Cummings served in France during World War I. He Is survived by two other sisters, Mrs. August Wruck, Akron, and Mrs. Grace Hall, Allegany, and two sons, Howard, U. S. Army, and Kenneth, Lockport His wife, Mrs. Bertha Benteen Amlong Cummings, died some time ago. Gordon leaves his wife, Mrs. Theresa Wimby Gordon, seven children, including 32-month-old twins; his father, Henry James Gordon, Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Andrews. Tulsa, Okla. Mrs. Gordon related Sunday that her husband and Cummings rode to and from work together. The bride's gown was of embroidered nylon net over taffeta fashioned with fitted bodice and: illusion,, neckline, long pointed' sleeves and a full skirt. Her white fingertip veil was caught to a cap of white lace trimmed with seed pearls and she carried a bouquet, of white roses and carnations. They moved to Allentown, Pa. and later to Alden. Mr. Snyder died in 1961. Mrs. Snyder's twin sister, Mrs. George (May) Zink died about 10 years ago. Ken nedy officiated before an altar adorned with roses and gladioli A gown of white nylon net over nylon taffeta was worn by the bride for the ceremony, and her fingertip veil also was of nylon net. She carried white carnations and lily-of the-valley with white satin streamer. Miss Patricia Yanicki was maid of honor in a gown of blue net with matching mitts and headpiece. She had a pink rose bud and carnation corsage. The best man was Robert Tomaino, and Richard Tomaino of Burt and Larry E. Harris were ushers. Mrs. Canaski chose a dress of black crepe and Mrs. Boyer a black and white print. Each wore accessories to match her dress and a corsage of pink carnations and rose buds. A wedding dinner was served at the Wright's Corners Hotel. The bride favored a brown box suit with pink accessories and a white carnation corsage for travel- ing. Bayne. 87, will be held tomorrow at the Leonard Funeral Home in Hastings, Mich. Mr. Bayne died Thursday (May 23. 1963) in a Hastings hospital- Born Nov. 11. 1875 in Lyndonville, Mr. Bayne moved to Lockport in the early 20s, then to Hastings in 1925. A retired barber, Mr. Bayne is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Claude P Hart and Mrs. Donald A. Richards; two sons, Lloyd L. Bayne and Milton W. 10146 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 5/25/1946 NEWFANE, May 25 - Joseph Dixon, 65, McKee Road, former superintendent of highways in Newfane township, died suddenly at noon today while driving home in bit automobile on Mam Street from work at the Lockport Felt Company. He slumped down in I the seat and tbe car crashed into a tree in front of Newfane Central School. The car was damaged. Dr. Mabel Carmer. coroner, issued a certificate of death due to a heart affliction. His wife, Florence Brandt Dixon survives. ALSO Same date and paper NEWFANE, May 25 - services for Joseph Dixon, 65, McKee Road who died Friday noon of a heart attack in his automovile hwille re- turning home from work at the Lockport Felt Company, will be held Monday at 2:30 at the Corwin Funeral Home, 27 North Main St. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery. Mr. Dixon was born in Newfane son of Joseph and Anna O'Dadald Dixon, and had been a farmer in the town for many years. At one time he served as highways super- intendent of the town. Mr. Dixon was driving his auto- mobile when stricken and was found dead after the automobile left the highway and struck a tree near Newfane School. He had had several previous attacks. 10147 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 5/25/1987 Theodore Baudendistel, 73. died at 10:30 o'clock Monday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur W. Karsten, Pisk road, town of Pendleton. He had been in poor health for some time. A few days ago he contracted plural pneumonia which resulted ln his death. Bom in Ulm, Germany. Dec. 5, 1861, Mr. Baudendistel came to the United States when 23 years old. After two years in Buffalo he came to Lockport where he made his home hi South Transit street until about one year ago. Prior to his retirement in 1933 he was employed at the Niagara Textile company. Besides his daughter ln Pendleton, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. John Blake of this city; one brother Roman Baudendistel of Lockport, three sisters in Germany, 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday morning at 8:15 o'clock at the Karsten home and at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's church, this city. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. | BAUDENDISTEL, Theodore (I127938)

Olds of Lockport, was solemnised Saturday afternoon. May 16, at 3 o'clock In St. John's Lutheran Church, Akron, The Rev. John Richardson, pastor, officiated. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired la a waitslength gown of blush-pink Chantilly lace and nylon net over satin. She carried a Colonial bouquet of demure rosebuds. Mrs. Bruce Kanehl of Lockport, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore an orchid taffeta waltz-length gown with matching nylon net stole and carried a Colonial bouquet of orchid carnations and shasta daisies. Willis J. Olds Jr. of Canton, o.. was best man for his brother and the ushers were Robert Woodburn of Newfane and Bruce Kanehl. The church and ball were decorated with lilacs and snapdragons Bridal music was provided b y Mrs. There Brown. Following a reception in t he church parish hall, the couple left for a wedding trip to the South. They are making their residence at 5 Wilson Pkwy.. The guests were seated at one long table centered with pink roses, the place of the guest of honor, marked with a corsage of pink eweetpeas and alien of the valley.
