He was born in Lockport on Aug. 12, 1904 to Barthoomew and Mary (Hebe) Braun. He was a tool and die maker for 28 years at Harrison Radia- tor Division, General Motors Corp., before his retirement in 1963. He also owned and operat- ed the Braun Trailer Park at Wrights Corners, since 1953. He was a member of-the Gasport Senior Citizens and UAWCJO Local 686. He is survived by his widow, Myrtle (Robinson) Braun, two daughters, Mrs. Sherman (Barbara) Wallace, Gasport, and Sister Dianna, S.S.M.N., Kenmore; a son, Richard L. Buczkowski of 32 Harwood St.,, was solemnized 'In St. Joseph's Church, the Rev. James Cara, pastor, performing the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of bro- caded satin fashioned with shadow neckline, long sleeves and train. Her three-quarter-length veil was caught to a crown of orgnage blos- soms. She carried white roses and baby's breath. Miss Rose Vitone was maid of honor and brifesmaids were Miss Frances Vitone and Miss Irene Buczkowski. They wore powder blue and pale pink dresses and car- ried red roses and baby's breath The bride's mther wore a black and white rint dress with black accessories and the bridegroom's mother wore an orchid print with black accessories. Church decorations were of gla- dioli and palms. Following the cere- mony, there was a reception to 200 guests, with ten seated at the brid- al table, decorated with roses and a three- tiered cake topped by a Miniature bride and groom. Blackley of Kenmore. Son of John and Margaret Noble Blackley, Mr. Blackley was born Oct. 18, 1893 in Lockport. He retired from the Tonawanda police department three years ago. The bride wore a gown of white satin with a cathedral-length train and fitted bodice of Chantilly lace with a Peter Pan collar and lace peplum. She wore pearl earrings, gift of the groom, and a white lace half-bonnet trimmed with seed pearls, from which fell a fingertip veil of Illusion. Her bouquet of red roses was centered with white roses and lilies af the valley. PASTEL GOWNS WORN Her attendants wore gowns of marquisette over taffeta, with Peter Pan collars, peplums and full hoop skirts. The matron of honor, Mrs. Pearl Blackley, sister-in-law of the bride, wore pale blue. Mlaa Peggy Skellan and Miss Edith Ries, sister of the groom, bridesmaids, wore pale green and pale yellow, respectively. All wore crownless picture bats and gloves and carried iris In shades matching their gowns, mixed with garden flowers. Brenda Marie Blackley, niece of the bride, was flower girl, wearing yellow taffeta with a full hoop skirt trimmed with matching lace, the off-shoulder neckline forming a Bertha trimmed with lace. Her yellow bonnet was tied under her chin with a large bow and she wore yellow gloves. Sweet peas matching her gown filled the basket she carried. David Notar of Buffalo was best man and ushers were Irvine Barone and the groom's brother, Charles Turner, also of Buffalo. Robert Eberhardt was soloist. Mrs. Turner wore a navy blue dress with a white gardenia corsag e. Driver Injured, Horse Killed BARKER - A 38-year-old man was injured early Monday morning when his auto struck and killed a stray horse on the County Line Road, about onebalf mile north of Millers. Treated at Medina Memorial Hospital for body bruises was Robert Thiel of the County Line Road. He was not admitted. Albion State Police said Thiel was traveling south about I a.m. when his auto hit the horse, killing it instantly. The car then rolled over and was demolished. 10194 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 6//10/1968 NORTH TONAWANDA-Roy Cecil Rusk, 66, of 64-15th St., father of a Gasport woman, died unexpectedly Sunday (June 9, 1968). He was visiting at the home of a son in Niagara Falls when stricken with a heart attack, and was pronounced dead on arrival at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital. He was born in Trenton, Ont., and had lived in Niagara Falls for 20 years, where he was employed by the National Carbon Co. as an instrument operator. Mr. Rusk moved to North Tonawanda 15 years ago. He is owner and operator of the Rusk Laundry at 711 Oliver St. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Niagara River Lodge 785, F&AM, and other affiliated Masonic organizations. Surviving are his widow, Violet May Rusk; a daughter, Mrs. Grover (Dorothy) Bass of Gasport; two sons, Albert L. Rusk of Niagara Falls and Earl Rusk of Bolder City, Nev.; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hubble and Mrs. Helen Esseltine, both of Toronto, Mrs. Myrtle Williamson of Chippawa, Ont.; two brothers, Charles Rusk of Welland, Ont. and Earl Rusk of Tungunga Canyon, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home, Michigan Avenue at 10th Street, Niagara Falls. The Rev. James DiBlasi, pastor of Fourth Avenue Church of God, will officiate. Mrs. Bluhm was born Feb. 28, 1891, in Lockport,, the daughter of William and Sarah Gray Clugston. She was the widow of Fred W. Bluhm, a former alderman of the city of Lockport. Mrs. Bluhm was a member of Rebekah Lodge 290 and the Lockport Senior Citizens. She lived with her daughter, Mrs. Walter (Letitia) Uriel, in Lockport before entering the hospital. Also surviving are another daughter, Mrs. M a l c o lm (Kathryn) Felton, Lockport; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Friends may call at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St. where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Rebekah Lodge 290 will meet at Prudden and Kandt at 7 p.m. Taesday for a memorial service and to pay respects. 10200 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 6/10/1931 A very pretty wedding was solemniaed Tuesday, June 8, at 2 p. m., at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran parsonage, North Ridge, when Rev. John P. Barkow united In marriage Miss Evelyn E. Bendt, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph. Bendt of the Shadagee road, Wilson, and Herman Bobzien, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Bobzien of Butt. The bride wore a gown of pale pink georgette, made sleeveless and hat of white. She carried an arm bouquet of sunburst roses, baby's breath and ferns tied with a large bow of white tulle and pink and yellow satin ribbon. Miss Evelyn Hauseman, niece of the bride was bride's maid. She wore a canary yellow georgette frock and a picture hat to match her gown. Her flowers were pink roses, sweet peas and ferns tied with a large bow of pink tulle. Burt Bobzien, brother of the bridegroom, was beet man. A reception followed at the home of the bride for the immediate families. The rooms were decorated with pink and white crepe paper, white wedding bells and vases of cut flowers. Covers were laid for sixteen at the bride's table, which was earned out In a color scheme of pink and white. The bride presented her maid with a half dozen silver teaspoons. The groom presented his attendant with a combination fountain pen and pencil. Ouesta were present from Syracuse, Newfane, Burt, Appleton, Wilson and the vicinity.
