NIAGARA FALLS, July 10-Services
for John George Traub, 55, of
705 Ashland avenue, were held today
in the family home and in Zion
Lutheran church, Michigan avenue
and Tenth street. Burial was In
Riverdale cemetery. Mr. Traub died,
Friday night after a long illness. He
conducted a meat market here 301
years, retiring three years ago. Recently
he was caretaker of the Zion
Lutheran church. He was born in
Lockport. Surviving are his wife.
Mrs. Pauline Traub; four sons,
George F., Carl W., Edward H. and
Frank; his daughter, Hazel P., and
his mother, Mrs. George Traub, all
of this city, and a brother, Fred
Traub, Lockport.

and have three boys who are In
the custody of their father. The

widow of Leonard V . Gliddon
who died in 1958, died Sunday
(July 9, 1967) at Mount View
Hospital after a long illness.
She had been a patient at
Briody Nursing Home for 9»4
years before entering the hospital
a week ago.
She was born Nov. 12, 1897 in
Lockport, a daughter of Samuel
and Belle Kinney Bowler.
Surviving are one daughter
and one son, Mrs. Burton Connor
and Roger R. Gliddon .both
of Lockport; two sisters, Mrs.
Arthur Beader of Royal Oak,
Mich., and Miss Mary Bowler
of Lockport; one brother, William
Bowler of Buffalo; also two
grandchildren.
There will be no visiting
hours. Private funeral services
will be held tomorrow at the
Joseph M. Kennedy Funeral
Home Inc., 122 Walnut St., with
the Rev. Russell Shaffer offi
ciating.

LYNDONVILLE - Homer L.
Breed, 77, of 49 Lake Ave., Lyndonville,
died Wednesday at
Rose Villa Nursing Home, Albion,
where he had been a patient
for one month. He had been in
ill health for a long time.
Mr. Breed was born July 2,
1892 in the Town of Ridgeway,
the son of Jay and Inez Lott
Breed and was a lifelong resident
of this area.
Until his retirement a few
years ago, he had been a farmer
in the Lyndonville area.
On Oct. 30, 1919 he was married
to Miss Mildred Fisher of
Ridgeway, who survives him.
Mr. Breed had been a member
of Yates Lodge 675, F&AM,
for more than 40 years, and attended
Lyndonville United Methodist
Church.
Surviving, besides his widow,
are a son, Warren (Burr)
Breed; three grandchildren; a
sister, Mrs. Ross (Helen) Barlow
of Lyndonville, three nephews
and several cousins.
Another son, Newell, was killed
during World War II,
Friends may call from 7 to 9
p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to
9 tomorrow at the Smythe Funeral
Home, here, where funeral
services wilt be held at 2:30
p.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in West Ridgeway
Cemetery.

Frank Brege and Theodore Whltticoff.
Interment was at West Shelby.
He is survived by his mother, three

was in Wright's Corners cemetery.

which was solemnized at 4 o'clock Saturday, the altar of First
Presbyterian Church was decorated with white gladioli, chrysanthemums
and gypsophila before a background of palms, ferns
and candelabra.
The bride is the daughter of Mr
and Mrs. Frank H Thilkey of Crapsey
Road, her husband the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G. barron
of 226 Niagara Sst. Dr. Stephen E.
Palmer performed the afternoon
nuptials.
Given in marriage by her father,

Miss Thilkey chose a gown of white
nylon marquisette fashioned with an
Illusion neckline outlined with a soft
of f-tne-shoulder drape caught in
several places with orange blossoms.
The bodice was fitted and
its long sleeves culminated in a
point over each hand, the full tiered
skirt ending in a short tram.
LACE-TRIMMED VEIL
Her fingertip veil was caught to
a headdress of lllies-of-the-valley
and was edged with a Wide band
of lace. She wore a double strand
of pearls about her throat, and
carried a semi-cascade bouquet of
white roses, carnations and sweet
Miss Audrey L. Thilkey, the
bride's sister, was maid of honor In
a pink orchid nylon marquisette
gown made with cap sleeves. She
wore matching gauntlets and car-
ried a semi-cascade bouquet of pink
carnations and sweet peas.

Mrs. Barron is a graduate of
Lockport Senior High School. Her
husband served as a boatswains
mate 2-c In the U, S. Navy for
three years during World War II.

for two years and was recipient
of a Good Conduct Medal, a battle
star for Okinawa and the Victory
Medal

Rev. Ivan L Lange officiated at the ceremony.
The bride was attired In a gown
of white bridal satin fashioned with
a redingote of Chantilly lace with
high neckline and long sleeves
pointed at the wrist. Her veil of
nylon tulle edged with nylon lace
was caught to a cap of seed pearls
and she carried a cascade bouquet
of whit« carnations and angel
feathers.
Miss Ann Becker of Barker,
counsin of the bride, was maid of
honor, wearing, a gown of pastel
pink taffeta with overskirt of deeper
pink nylon net and her head
piece was of matching braided net
entwined with white flowers.
The bridesmaids were Miss Nancy
Gormley whose gown was of
pastel green taffeta with oversinrt
of deeper green, and Miss Elaine
Arnold of Barker, who wore pastel
orchid taffeta with overskirt of
darker orchid. They wore matching
headpieces fashioned after the
maid of honor's. All carried cascade
bouquets of white carnations

home of the bride's parents, which

table, centered with a five-tiered
wedding cake.
For a trip to the Northeastern
states the bride chose a suit dress
of melon pink with white accessories
and a corsage of white carnations
and angel feathers.

The bridegroom, who has been
.serving in the U. S. Navy for the

Dinner was served from a table
centered with a bowl of pink roses,
while pink and white was carried out
in detail about the room, and from
the center of the ceiling to the ends
of the table were pink and white
ribbons caught with roses, and shad-
ed with tall lighted candles of vivid
pink. The guests favors were pink,
tied with white and the honor guest's
was of white fashened with orange
blossoms.
The Misses Pearle Denton of Barker
and Miss Viola French entertain
for Miss Rutland at a variety shower
tonight with an "Indian party," on
the beach. There will be a glowing
camp fire, a program of out door
sports.

Born in Wilson, Mr. Bonsteel
came here 15 years ago from Newfane,
where he had conducted a

The bride wore a dark g r e en
suit with brown accessories a corsage
of yellow roses and carnations
and a matching gold locket and
bracelet, gifts of the groom. Her
attendant. Miss Helen D. Miller,
wore a gray gabardine suit with
dark green accessories, Arnold
Boehnke of Loekport was best
man.
The bride's mother wore a black
lace - trimmed dress and the
groom's mother, a black and white
crepe dress. Both wore corsages
of Pink roses and white carnations.
House decorations were of pink,
red and white gladioli. A reception
to 150 guests was held in Wendelville
Fire Hall, where orchid gladioli
and ferns decorated the bridal
table, set for 15.
Following a wedding trip to
Pennsylvania, the couple is residing
with Mr. and Mrs. F o r e st
Andrews on Beach Ridge Road.

NORTH TONAWANDA. July 16-
William Behm, 76 years old, a well
known
resident of the town of
Wheatfleld, died at his home on the
Niagara Falls boulevard, St. Johnsburg,
after an illness of six months.
Stricken with paralysis in January
Mr. Behm failed to rally.
Born in Germany, Mr. Behm
came to America 60 years ago and
located in Buffalo. He continued
his residence there until 45 years
ago, when he located in Wheatfleld.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Augusta
Holler, Buffalo. The funeral
will be held Wednesday afternoon
at 2 o'clock at the residence and
half an hour later at St. John's
church. The Rev. Walter Thiemecke
will conduct the services and inter-
ment will be in the St. John's ceme-
tery at St. Johnsburg.

While sitting with his wife and
children in the living room of his
Gasport home last evening, tuning
in on a radio set, David A Knox,
32, of the personnel department,
Harrison Raditor Corporation, sud-
denly slumped over in his chair,
succumbing instantly to a heart at-
tack. Dr. F. A. Kittinger, coroner,
issued the certificate of death.
Born at Turtle Creek, Pa., July
18, 1903, Mr. Knox had lived in Lock-
port since childhood, and had resid-
ed with his wife and family at 36
Hyde Park until six mo nths ago
when they removed to Main street,
Gasport.
He had been employed by the
Harrison Corporation the past 12
years, where his interest in sports
brought him into the personnel de-
partment. He was a member of
Lockport lodge 73 F & A M, the Ol-
cott Yacht club, and All Saints
chapel.
Surviving are his widow Beatrice
G. Knox and two sons Bruce and
Norman at home, two brothers and
four sisters, Earl, Clarence, Mrs.. J.
C. Heacox, Mrs. Harold Smillie and
Mrs. Edward Oehser of Lockport
and Mrs. Edward P. Green of Wal-
merding, Pa.
Services will be held at the Prud-
den Funeral home, 242 Genesee
street, at 2:30 o'clock Thursday
afternoon, the Rev. H. Irvine Lynds
of Christ Episcopal church, offic-
iating. Burial will be in Cold Springs
cemetery.

48, formerly of Barker, who
died unexpectedly Thursday, (July
13, 1961) in a dentist's chair in
Portland Me. while waiting to
have his tooth extracted.
The rites were held at 2 this
afternoon at the Hood Funeral
Home, Barker, followed by burial
in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndon-
ville.
Born Dec. 28, 1912, the son of
Mr. and Roy Bowers, Barker, he
lived in the Barker-Lockport area
until the outbreak of World War
II, when he enlisted in the U.S.
Navy. Upon his discharge he be
came associated with the Ingraham
Jack Insurance Agency of
Westbrook, Me.
Before enlisting he was employed
at Paris Dry Clenaers in
Lockport, and Harrison Radiator
Division. General Motors Corp.
A member of the Naval Reserves,
he was called back to duty
in the Korean War, when he was
stationed in Japan. At the conclusion
of the Korean Conflict, he
returned to his home in Portland.
where he was employed until the
time of his death.
Besides his parents, he leaves
two daughters, Miss Yvonne Bow
ers and Miss Carol Bowers of
Lewiston, Me.; one son, Wayne
Bowers of Gasport; and a sister,
Mrs. Floyd Seward of Gasport.

Stricken ill at the Locust Bake
Shop, Charles F. Blackley. 71, retired
firemen, of 23 Grosvenor St.,
was taken Saturday afternoon to
Lockport City Hospital where he
was pronounced dead.
Mr. Blackley retired from the
fire department last Dec. 31 after
27 years of service. At the annual
banquet of the Firemen's Benevolent
and Protective Association in Jan-
uary he was presented with a purse
and a life membership in the New
York state Fire fighters Associa-
tion.
A native of Lockport, Mr.
Blackley was employed by the for-
mer Fibre Corporation and also was
employed as a plumbers helper be-
fore he was appointed to the Fire
Department on Dec. 1, 1921.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary
Blackley; a son, J. Francis Black-
ley; a sister, Mrs. Charles Rice
and a brother, Robert Blackley, all
of Lockport.
Services will be held tomorrow at
2:30 at the home. Burial will be in
St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Chestnut St. died Monday in Lockport
City Hospital. Mr. Moore
had worked for Simonds Saw and
Steel Company for 37 years.
Mr. Moore was born June 11,
1899 in Lockport. He was the son

Gibson Moore. Mr. Moore attended
Lockport schools and served
in the coast artillery in World
Wax I. For the past six months
he worked as a rewinder at Dew
ey and Almy Chemical Company.

Born In Newfane, he was t he
son of Charles and Hannah Brockman
and had lived in Wilson for
several years. He was a member of
St. Peter's Lutheran Char eh,
North Ridge.
Surviving are his wife, Mayme
Brockman; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest
Branch, Wilson; a brother,
Walter Brockman, Lockport; a
sister, Mrs. Louis Kagels, Newfane;
seven grandchildren; and
nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be tomorrow afternoon
at 2 in Hamilton ft Clark Funeral
Chapel. Burial will be In
North Ridge Cemetery

A retired gardener and longtime
resident of Lockport, John Bolton
Sr., 96, of 445 Washburn St., died
early this morning (July 2, 1958)
at his home.
Mr. Bolton was born Feb. 24,
1862, In East Sutton, Kent, England,
the son of Frederick and Ana
MacKender Bolton. He came to
Lockport when in hit early 20't.
Hit wife waa the late Phoebe Ireland
Bolton.
Mr. Bolton was one of the oldest
members of Grace Episcopal
Church.
He is survived by two daughters,
and four sons, Elsie, Harold and
John Jr.. of Lockport, Roger of
California, Ralph of Buffalo and
Mrs. Victor Lill of Niagara Falls,
four grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
Friends may call at the residence
today, tomorrow and Friday.
The burial office will be held
at Grace Church Saturday morning
at 11. the Rev. George B.
Wood, curate, officiating. Burial
will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
