Irvin Lynds officiating. The Lohengrin wedding march was played by Carlton Drew Jr. The bride, who was given In marriage by her father was lovely in a white moire gown fashioned on long lines with short jacket Taring below the waist. Her fingertip veil was made cap shape, encircled with a wreath of orange blossoms and pearls and she carried an arm bouquet of white roses and baby breath tied with white ribbon. Miss Lena Thomas was maid of honor, gowned in yellow moire fashioned the same as the bride's gown and she carried an arm bouquet of talisman roses and blue delphinium. Karl Beccue. brother of the bride acted as best man. The bride's gift to her maid was a white beaded evening bag and to his best man the groom presented a bill fold. Mrs. Bluhm received approximately 150 guests wearing a green and white printed silk dress adorned by a corsage of red roses. Mr. Bluhm, who was active for many years in city politics as committeeman for the Third District of the Fifth Ward for 10 years and as alderman-at-large for 12 years, greeted many old friends among the guests, including State Assemblyman Harold Altro and Mrs. Altro. Guests were served a buffet lunch from a table centered by pink carnations and white and orchid chrysanthemums. White tapers in crystal candelabra flanked a four-tiered anniversary cake which was decorated with white swans and topped with a bell surrounded by lilies-of-the-valley. Mc- McCormick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett G. Mc- Mrs. Francis M. Briody of 424 High St. and the late Mr. Brlody. The marriage was solemnized by the Rev. Michael J. Campbell before the altar enhanced by pink roses in gold vases flanked by cymbodium ferns. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of imported Swiss organdy, designed in tiers. The pointed back of the formfitted bodice dipped into a chapel train. Her veil of French illusion was caught to a crown of organdy petals. She held an heiroom Prayer Book, which had been car- ried by all the brides of the fam- ily, covered with white roses and stephanotis. MAID OF HONOR Miss Patricia M. McCormick of Lewiston, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a waltzlength gown of imported white organdy over shell pink taffeta. Her headpiece was of pink organdy petals, ahd she carried a crescent cascade bouquet of pink shaded sweetheart roses with ivy. Bridesmaids were the Misses Ann M. Mowbray, cousin of the bridegroom, and Mary Catherine Oswald, bot of Buffalo. Junior at- tendants were the Misses Susan M and Joan E. Blazer, nieces of the bride, of East Aurora. The gowns, headpieces and bouquets of the bridesmaids and Junior attendants were identical to those of the maid of honor. Richard M. Degan of Lewiston was best man and ushers were Dr. John E. McCormick of Snyder, borther of the bride, and Patrick J. Labby of Lockport. The All Male CUuU uf Nlagaia Falls sang the nuptial mass. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. McCormick favored a pale pink organza princess gown with matching hat. Her corsage was of rhubrum lilies. The bridegroom's mother chose a yellow sheath gown complemented by a white hat and white orchid cor sage. GARDEN RECEPTION A wedding breakfast was served at the Niagara Falls Country Club following the ceremony, and a re ception was held in the garden of the bride's home. 10474 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 7/7/1962 Tragedy struck twice on Niag- ara County roads Friday to raise the 1962 county highway fatality toll to 17 which is 10 more than this same time in 1961. Dead are Lionel Priddle, 64, of 5409 Elm Drive, Lewiston, and Frank Budziszewski, 75, of 2746 Carmen Road, Middleport. Mr. Budziszewski, a retired em- ploye of the Buffalo Drop Forge Co., was struck and killed by a car shortly before 10 as he walked on Carmen Road in the Town of Hartland. The river of the car, 25 year old William J. Higgins of the Carmen Road, was charged by sheriff's deputie with "faiure to keep right." He will appear in Town of Hartland court at 7:30 p.m Tuesay to answer the charge. Deputies said that Mr Budzis- zewski was walking on the west side of the road when struck by the northbound auto. The vehicle was heavily damaged by the force of the impact. Dr. George Muscato, Niagarra Counnty coroner, withheld the cause of death pending an autop- sy. FATHER OF SEVEN Mr. Budziszewski was born Sept. 21, 1886, in Poland and came to this country in 1912. He had always resided in this vicini- ty and was a member of St. Pat- rick's Church, Barker. His wife died earlier this year. Mr. Budziszewski is susrvived by five daughters, Mrs.. Jennie Calder of Hartford, Conn.; Mrs. Helen Preventowski of Tonawan- da; Mrs.. Main St., a retired produce and farm supply dealer, died Sunday in Medina Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for about three months. Born Dec. 16, 1891 in Lyndonville, he was a son of Newton J. and Flora Swain Barry, and had been a lifelong resident here. , Mr. Barry operated his own farm supply busi- ness in Waterport for about 45 years before his retirement. He was married to the former Miss Alice Reagan of Fulton n 1917. The couple celebrated their golden anniversary in 1967. Mr. Barry was a member of the Board of Assessors of the Town of Yates and a director of the Citizen's State Bank. Surviving, besides his widow, are two sons, Dr. John R. C Newell, officiating The bride given in marriage by her Grandfather, wore a Paris creation of White Satin, and a bridal veil of silk embroidered flowers, In the folds of which nestled orange blossoms. Both carried shower boquets, the bride's of white roses and the bridesmaid's of sweet peas. Bergen, 70, died Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of his son, Robert H. Bergen, 290 North Harris Hill Road, Williamsville. where he had been staying since April 29. Mr. Bergen served the Lockport church from 1925 to 1940, leaving here to accept a call to First Congregational Church, Walton, of which he was minister until forced to retire by illness the first of the year. PROMINENT MASON A prominent Mason, he was assistant grand lecturer of Delaware- Sullivan Masonic District, past master of Walton Lodge 559, F&AM, and past high priest of Delaware Chapter 251, Royal Arch Masons. He joined the Masons in June 1922, became a Master Mason to October of the same year and received the Royal Arch Mason Degree In Jane 1948. Mr. Bergen was a former honorary member of Lockport Kiwanis Club and served as secretary of the Walton Club for five years. Mr. Bergen was born Nov. S, 1884 to Laurel Hills. Pa., the son of the Rev. Sylvester S. and Sallie Alderson Bergen. He was a graduate of Bellville (Pa.) High School, Juniata College, Huntington. Pa., Washington and Jefferson College, Washington, Pa., and Western Seminary. Pittsburgh. He was ordained May 21. 1912. During his 42 years In the ministry, he served seven churches: Presbyterian Church, Delroy, O., and New Harrisburg, Pa., 1912- 14; Presbyterian Church, Denison, O., 1914-15; Presbyterian Church, Cambridge, O., 1915-18; South Presbyterian Church, Cleveland, 1919-25; Plymouth Church. Lockport, 1925-40; First Congregational, Walton, 1940-54. SERVICES TOMORROW He is survived by his wife, Alice Calvert Bergen, Whom he married Dec. 18, 1928 following the death of his first wife, the former Ethel Marie Schwam, Nov. 16, 1927 hi Lockport. Besides his son, Robert, he also leaves another son, Jay H. Bergen and two grandsons, Donald John and Mark Lee Bergen, all of Stamford, Conn., a sister. Miss Laura A. Bergen, Cooperstown, and a brother, the Rev. Stanley V. Bergen, Philadelphia. 10499 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 8/12/1926 A pretty wedding took- place at All Saints church at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon -when Mildred Lorraine Howell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Howell of 3 Rogers, avenue became the bride of John Bolton, Jr., of Washburn street. The Rev. O. H. Glynn Lloyd officiated at the ceremony and the bride was given by her father. The bride was gowned in shell pink crepe georgette with hat to match and she carried a bouquet of bride roses and gypsophila. Miss Ruth Bolton, sister of the groom acted as bridesmaid and was gowned in rose crepe georgette with hat to match and carried pink roses. Mrs. Howell wore black satin crepe. Burton Howell, brother of the brrde was the best man and Ralph Bolton and Jesse Colby acted as ushers. The church was decorated with pink and white flowers and the altar was artistically banked with white flowers. Following the ceremony, a reception to the bridal party and the immediate family was given at the home of the bride which was prettily decorated with baskets and vases of garden flowers. Twelve were seated at the bridal table which was, centered with a minia- ture bride,,groom and clergyman, The color scheme of pink and white were followed in the decorations. An amber toilet set Was the groom's gift to the bride while his gift to the best man was military brushes. The ushers received white gold pocket combs. 10500 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 8/12/1941 A beautiful wedding ceremony was solemnized Saturday at 4 o'clock in the Trinity Lutheran church, Lockport, when the Rev. Herman Meier united in marriage Miss Evelyn Behm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Behm of Stone road, Lockport and Norman R. Capell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond H. Capell of Hosmer road, Hartland. The organist was Erwin Rein- holtz and Mrs. Harold Meier sang "Because" and "O, Perfect Love." The bride's gown, worn over slipper satin, was fashioned of rose point lace bodice, with sweetheart neckline, puffed sleeves and full skirt of lace net which formed a long train. She wore a finger-tip length veil of illusion caught to a coronet of orange blossoms. She wore a single strand of pearls and carried an arm bouquet of white roses, gladioli and gypsophila. Sister la Maid Of Honor Miss Iverna Behm, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Miss Shirley Waters, niece of the bride and small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Waters of Middleport, was flower girl. Miss Behm's dress was of orchid musseline de aoie made on princess lines with sweetheart neckline and she carried an arm bouquet of yellow roses, orchid delphinum and gypsophila. She wore a crescent of yellow rose buds in her hair. The flower girl wore a floorlength gown of white marquisette trimmed with orchid ribbon and carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and orchid sweet peas. The bridesmaids, Miss Ruth Behm, sister of the bride and Miss Grace Mary Kinyon of Burt, cousin of the groom, wore dresses fashioned like that of the maid of honor. Miss Behm wore yellow musseline de soie and Miss Kenyon wore aqua. Their arm bouquets were of talisman roses, blue delphinium and gypsophila. Both wore! crescents of talisman roses. Mr. Capell's beat man was his cousin, David Smith of Hartland. Ushers were Delbert Behm, brother of the bride, and Floyd Hetherley of North Hartland, cousin of the groom. Owing to the illness of the bride's father, she was given4n,marriage by her brother, Elton Behm. The mother of the bride wore navy crepe with navy accessories and the groom's mother wore perwinUe shadow chiffon with black accessories. Both wore corsages of gardenias. White and orchid gladioli and ferns decorated the church, the altar being lighted with white tapers. Dinner Served To 60 Following the ceremony, dinner was served in the parish hall to 60 relatives and friends with nine seated at the bride's table which was centered with a four-tiered bride's cake with white tapers in crystal holders at either end. Garden flowers were used throughout the room- Later a reception was held at the home of the bride to 100 guests. Mr. and Mrs. Capell left for a trip to the New England states, the bride wearing a delft blue dress with brown accessories. They will reside on the Hosmer road, where their new home is being constructed. Guests were present from Barker, Hartland, Middleport, North Tonawmnda, Medina, Burt and Kenmore. Pre-nuptlal events included: A bedroom shower given by Mrs. Leslie Waters and Mrs. Wllbert Kick; a black and white kitchen shower given by Miss Grace Kenyon; a variety shower given by Mrs. Raymond Capell.
