He had been a patient there

H and Edna Mason Beers. He
was a veteran automobile
dealer beginning in 1910 with
the Chevrolet Co. He was
later In the same business in
Lockport and Albion. At one
time he was a salesman
the Friends Manufacturing
t o . Gasport.
Mr. Beers had lived at
Rldgewood since 1922 and for
the last 12 years he spent his
winters in Daytona Reach.

been married 59 years
He is survived by his wife,

Bower had been a patient at the
St.. Francis Home,, Williamsville.

and a retired employe of the

AKRON - After a long illness,
Mrs. Ethel J. Cummings, 55, of
27 Hoag Ave., Akron, died Tuesday
(Aug. 8, 1961) in Genesee
Memorial Hospital in Batavia.
Born in the Town of Newstead,
Sept. 4, 1905 she was the daughter
of Edwin and Julia E. Bates.
Mrs. Cummings was a deaconness
of the First Baptist Church
of Akron and a member of the
Akron Rebekah Lodge.
Besides her husband. Earl J.
Cummings, she is survived by
three daughters, Mrs. Frederick
Hensel of Corfu, Mrs. Raymond
Schmigel and Mrs. Peter Knyter,
both of Akron; five grandchildren;
a sister, Mrs. Michael Pflieger of
Lancaster; three brothers, Ever
ett, and Erwin Bates of Akron;
and the Rev. C. B. Bates of Ni
agara Falls; and several nieces
and nephews.
Friends may call at the family
residence at 27 Hoag Ave. Funeral
services will be held at the First
Baptist Church, Friday afternoon
at 2, the Rev. Robert Wacker officiating.

Miss Patricia Cowper and Da
vid Brace honeymooned in the
New England States following
their wedding on July 8 at Plymouth
Congregational Church.
The Rev. Dr. George Dickson
officiated at the altar, which was
decorated with white gladioli and
shasta daisies, for the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd G. Cow
per, 94 Prentice St., and the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis L. Brace,
Clarence.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, chose a
silk organza over taffeta gown
with Chantilly lace fashioning the
bodice yoke and short sleeves. Appliques
of matching lace graced
the full skirt which extended into
a chapel train. Lace also edged
her veil of French illusion which
was held by a hand crocheted
crown made by Mrs. Cowper.
Daisies and ivy encircled a glamelia
to form her cascade bouquet.
BRIDESMAIDS
The bridegroom's sister. Miss
Judy Brace of Clarence, was
maid of honor. Miss Janet Cowper,
the bride's sister, and a cousin.
Miss Barbara Taylor, were
bridesmaids. Each was attired in
spring green silk organza over
taffeta styled with scooped neckline,
short sleeves and bell-shaped
skirts. Matching headpieces held
their veils and they carried cascade
of yellow daisies with ivy.
Junior bridesmaid, Miss Patricia
A. Thomas, wore a sleeveless
dress in mint green and a
matching headpiece, and carried
a nosegay of yellow and -white
daisies.
James P. Goodman of Tonawanda
acted as the bridegroom's
best man. Ushers were Ellis Atkinson
of East Aurora and William
Cowper, the bride's uncle,
of Snyder.
For her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. Cowper wore a pink linen
sheath dress with pink and white
accessories and a white orchid
corsage. The bridegroom's mother
favored a beige linen sheath
dress with beige and brown accessories
and a green orchid corsage.
GARDEN GATHERING
More than 200 guests attended
the garden reception held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert M.
Cowper, Upper Mountain Rd.,
where the bride's table was centered
by a four tiered wedding
cake topped by a replica of the
bride's bouquet.
For their journey to the East
coast the bride wore a yellow
and white dress with black accessories
and a yellow chrysanthemum
corsage.
They are making their home
at 5823 Main St., Williamsville.
Guests attended from Canada,
Buffalo, and Maryland
Miss Cowper graduated from
Lockport Senior High School and
attended Rochester Inst, of Technology.,
from which institute the
bridegroom graduated with a
bachelor of fine arts degree.

Miss Mary Elizabeth Loyacano,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs Loreto
Ritz, became the bride of Santo
Bucolo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony
Bucolo, Saturday morning, in St.
Joseph's church at 9 o'clock, with
the Rev. Carl J. Fenice officiating.
The church decorations consisted
of lovely bouquets of cybotium
ferns, pink gladioli and other assorted
flowers.
Mrs. Adolph Moretta played the
organ while Mrs. Steve Di Carlo
sang the "Ave Maria'' by Schubert.
Olven in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a slipper satin gown
fashioned with a yoke and long
puffed sleeves decorated with seed
pearls. Her two-tiered veil fell from
a coronet of glittering sequins and
she carried a beautiful arrangement
of white roses and lilies-of-the-val- ;
ley with streamers hanging to the
floor.
Miss Helen Lupo, the maid of
honor, wore a taffeta gown of
antique rose fashioned with a full
hooped skirt and velvet accessories
of peacock blue. Her headdress
consisted of a peacock blue velvet
bow with tulle hanging to her
shoulders.
The bridesmaids, the Misses
Rose Corriere, Josephine Maiorana,
Lena Bucolo and Roce Bucolo, wore
taffeta gowns of peacock blue
fashioned with full hooped skirts
with velvet accessories of antique
rose. Their headdress consisted of
an antique rose velvet bow with
tulle to their shoulders.
James Corriere was best man and
the ushers were James Bucolo, Carl
Sanmarco, Louis Torriere and
Charles Loyacano.
After the ceremony a breakfast
for 100 guests was served at the
Eagles' temple and later in the afternoon
a dinner was served with
250 guests attending.
The bridal table was decorated
with gladioli, asters and other assorted
flowers. A pyramid wedding
cake marked the places of the bride
and the bridegroom.

Official Referee Thomas H. Noonan
awarded an annulment to Mrs.
Mary Bucolo of Lockport against
Santo J. Bucolo. They were mar
ried in 1939.
Mrs. Bucolo said her husband told
her before marriage that he owned
a farm and would build a house on
it. She testified she learned last
December that the farm was owned
by his father. She was awarded custody
of three children and $25 a
week.

MIDDLEPORT - In falling
health for more than a year. Mrs.
Winifred Bennett, 72, of 11 State;
St., widow of George S. Bennett,
former lumber dealer and contractor,
died Friday afternoon in Medina
Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Bennett was born In West
Shokan. but had lived In Middleport
since her marriage 46 years
ago. She was a member of Prin-
cess Chapter, Order of he Eastern
Star, and Middleport Methodist
Church.
Mr. Bennett was accidentally

drowned 17 years ago when his automobile
plunged into the Barge
Canal here. He was prominent in
Republican circles and had filed as
a candidate for county treasurer
the dav before his death.
Surviving are a son. Deputy
County Clerk Spencer H. Bennett,
of Middleport; a daughter. Mrs.
Beverly M. Smith, of Medina; a
granddaughter, Glorla Smith, of
Medina, and a sister, Mrs. Salisbury
M. Day, of Rochester.
Services win be held Monday
morning at 11 o'clock at the home.
Burial will be in Hartland Central
Cemetery.

of imported Illusion was caught to
a shirred satin headpiece trimmed
with seed pearls and she carried
a bouquet of ervatamla, bridal
roses and pompons, tied with white
satin streamers.
ATTENDANT WEARS AQUA
Miss Gertrude Claxton, maid of
honor, wore a quaint gown of aqua
satin fashioned like that of the
bride, with matching long, fingerless
gloves. Her Colonial bouquet
was of pink roses and larkspur,
tied with aqua streamers.
Charles Sutton was best man and
ushers were Donald and Robert
Berry, brothers of the bride.
The bride's mother wore a smoke
gray satin dress with wine accessories
and a corsage of salmon
and white rosea. The bridegroom's
mother wore a black and white
dress with black accessories and a
gardenia corsage.
A breakfast was served to 35
guests, followed by a reception to
200 In the Park Hotel. A lacecovered
table held crystal candelabra
and was centered with a fourtiered
wedding cake topped by a
miniature bride and groom. Donald
Berry's Orchestra played during
the reception.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox left by
plane for New York City, the bride
wearing a mink brown faille suit
dress with brown accessories and
a corsage of talisman roses.'They

The bride Is a graduate of Lockport
High School and St. Joseph's

with the rating of carpenter's
mate, second class.

where the bride is employed, and

73. of Sanborn, died at his.
summer home at Long Point, Ont.,
Aug. 28 after a long illness. Serv-

ices were held Wednesday at the
Lane Funeral Borne with the Rev.
Donald A. Robinson officiating.
Mr. Hollinger resided in this
area for the past 53 years and
was employed at the Du Pont
plant for 45 years. He retired
eight years ago as foreman. He
was a member of the Du Pont 25-
Year Club and the Foreman's
Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel
Hollinger; four daughters, Mrs.
Edward Ferguson and Mrs.
George Henry, Niagara Falls;
Mrs. James Lum, Sanborn and
Mrs. George Roehrig, North Ton-
Eanda; two sons, James Hotger,
Niagara Falls and Grant
Hollinger, Snborn; three sisters,
Mrs. Ellis Wheeler, Acton, Ont.;

satin. Lace embroidery accented
the petal neckline and

bodice. Lace rose petals

her bouffant veil, and she held
a cascade of white roses.
Pink roses formed the bouquet
carried by Miss Sua
Ann Brigham, the bride's sister,
who was dressed in a
street-length violet satin gown
with matching headpiece.

pink roses surrounded by orchid

The bride's sister, Carrie
Lee Brigham, served as flower

For his best man the bridegroom
chose his brother,
James Payne, while another
brother, Raymond J. Brigham
Jr., shared ushering duties
with Gary and William Harrod
of Barker, and John O.
Thompson of Burt.
A yellow rose corsage highlighted
the blue sheath dress
and blue and gold accessories
worn by the bride's mother.
Beige accessories complemented
the brown costume
worn by Mrs. Payne with a
yellow rose corsage.
Approximately 450 guests
were received at the evening
reception held at CIO-UAW
Hall. Bouquets of pompons
decorated the bride's table
which held a five-tiered wedding
cake topped by a miniature
bride and bridegroom.
Miss Carol Just and Miss
Donna Oesterle presided at
the punch bowl.
When the couple left for
their honeymoon trip to Canada,
Mrs. Payne was wearing
a grey suit with lemon-colored
trim and silver accessories.
They plan to make their
home on the Slayton Settlement

A three-and-a-half year old Gas-
port girl was electrocuted shortly
after 11 o'clock this morning when
she touched an electric fence on
the farm of her uncle, John O. Dev-
ereaux of the Budd Road, town of
Cambria.
Artificial respiration by the
Wright's Corners Volunteer F i r e
Company ambulance squad failed
to revive Katey Lou Brigham,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Brigham of RD, Gasport. She was
pronounced dead on arrival at
Lockport City Hospital.
She was taken to the hospital
in the Wright's Corners ambulance.
Dr. Lemuel R. Hurlbut, of Lockport,
coroner, said he will issue a
certificate of accidental death.
Besides her parents, she Is survived
by a brother, Raymond, 13.
two sisters, Karen, 10, and Sue
Ann, 8, and two grandmoth-
ers, Mrs. Charles Brigham of Gas-
port and Mrs. Norman Berner of
Akron.
Funeral arrangements are being
handled by the Bream Funeral
Home in Gasport.

AKRON - A native of Germany,
and former Wolcottsville resident,
Mrs. Charles Buth died early
this morning (Sept. 10, 1957) at
the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Harold Borchert. 156 Main St., Ak
ron. She had been in failing
health for some time.
Born Dec. 30, 1964 in Germany,
she was a daughter of Charles and
Mary Becker, both of whom died
while Mrs. Buth was a girl. She
then came alone to the United
States where she settled outside
of Wolcottsville with brothers who
had preceded her here.
Nov. 29, 1888 she was married
to Charles Buth, Wolcottsville, and
the couple established ressidence on
the Fisk Rd., Wolcottsville, where
six children were both. Mrs. Buth
became a Gold Star Mother fol-
lowing her son, John's death in
World War II.
Mr. and Mrs. Buth celebrated
their Golden Wedding Anniversaty
in 1928 and Mr. Buth died in 1944.
Another son, Fred, died seven
years ago. For the last few years
she had been spending part of the
year with her daughter, Mrs. Bor-
chert, in Akron and the other with
another daughter, Mrs. Franklin
Wollenberg, Middleport.
Other survivors include another
daughter, Mrs. Louis Beyers, Ak-
ron; one son, Herman, Wolcotts-
ville; seven grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.

M. Lasal Berner, 84, of 1
Orchard St., widow of Albert
Berner, died Monday (Sept. 9.
1968) at Ransomville General
Hospital after a three-week illness.
She was born Oct. 21, 1883,
and had been a lifelong resident
of Niagara County.
Mrs. Berner operated a board-
ing house here for several
years.
Her husband died in 1948.
Surviving are her daughter-
in-law, Mrs. Albert Berner of
Buffalo; two grandchildren, Ro-
bert Berner of Tonawanda and
Mrs. Leroy Sautter of Buffalo;
a brother, Peter Lasal of Lock-
port; two stepdaughters, Mrs.
Harry Wooden of Schenectady
and Mrs. Herman Dietrich of
Lockport; two stepsons, Calvin
Berner of Lockport and Ray-
mond Berner of Detroit.

Mrs. Elisabeth W. Hoffmeister, aged
72 years, widow of David J. Hoffmeister,
a resident of Lockport for a half century,
died suddenly at 11 o'clock at
her late residence. No. 240 Niagara
street, from heart trouble. Deceased
had not been in good health for several
years, but was able to be around
her home.
Mrs. Hoffmeister was born at Fahrenwalde,
Germany, and coming to
this country a young girl, took up her
residence at Bergholtz, where she
married and later moved to Lockport.
She was an active member of the Trinity
Lutheran Church at Saxton street
and a charter member of the Ladies'
Aid Society of that church.
She is survived by four sons, William
J., David W., Fred, Albert, and
two daughters. Rose C. and Alma
Hoffmeister, all of this city.
Funeral services will be held from
her late home at 1:30 p m. Monday,
with services at Trinity Church at 2
p. m. and interment at German Lutheran
Cold Springs cemetery.

George Bixler, 64 years old of
the Ide road, town of Newfane, arrested
yesterday by Deputy Smith
and Rees on charge of bigamy.
was arraigned this morning before
Acting Police Judge Noonan In
police court at Niagara Falls. A
plea of not guilty was entered
and the case was adjourned until
19 o'clock tomorrow morning;.
The complainant is Mrs. Julia
Bixler of 295 Hawley street, this
city, who claims she is t h e wife of
George Bixler and mother of h i s
seven children. She told Judge
Noonan that while there Is no di-
vorce she has been separated from
her husband about thirteen years.
Recently Mrs. Bixler saw an ac-
count in a newspaper of the mar-
riage of George Bixler and Rose
Mary Carey, the ceremony being
performed on September 3, at Ni-
agara Falls, she claims, and upon
investigation found that the groom
was her husband. she then
swore out the warrant.

- Funeral
services for George Bixler. 70. former
resident of the Newfane area who
died Monday in Cleveland, will be
held at 3:30 tomorrow at the heme
of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn H. Corwin,
Main street. Burial will be In Corwin
cemetery. Mr. Bixler had been
ill for several months.
Born In the town of Newfane. the
son of the late Joshua and Alice
Brown Bixler, he had been a farmer
on the Ida road until 16 years ago
when he went to Cleveland. He was
a member of the Newfane Baptist
church.
Survivors include a son Clayton
Bixler, Moravia; five daughters, Mrs.
Everett Forsyth, Burt; Mrs. william
Akerman and Mrs. Beverly Harris,

The funeral of Mrs. Lena Wagner,
wife of William Wagner of the
Ditch road, was held Friday afternoon
at the St. Michael's church, of
which the deceased was a member.
Mrs. Wagner had been in ill
health for some time and until
about three weeks before her death
was confined to her bed.
She left to mourn her loss besides
her husband, three sons Herbert
and Alvin Faskel at home and
Walter Faskel of Bradford, Pa.; one
daughter, Mrs. George Sanderson of
Gasport, three brothers and three
sustcrs.
The bearers were John Rewalt,
Paul Reimer, Henry G. Bruning,
Fred Stahl. 8r., George Voelkerand
Andrew Mietz. Four nieces of the
deceased were flower girls.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Faskel of
Bradford, Pa., who have spent the
past week here on account of the
death of Mr. Fa.skel s mother, Mrs,
Ix-na Wagner, have returned home.
The people of Wolcottsville were
shocked to hear Saturday of the
°serious illness of William Wagner,
although Mr. Wagner has not been
feeling well the past few weeks. He
attended his wife's funeral Friday
afternoon and was taken seriously
ill. On Saturday he was taken to
the Lockport city hospital where
he underwent a serious operation.

associated with E. H. Ferree and the
E. H. Ferree company. He was vice
president until he retired in 1926.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs.
Mary Brimmer Coapman, and several
nieces and nephews, including
Mrs. Douglas R. Patterson of Burt,

LYNDONVILLE, Sept. 13 - A 65-
year-old retired coal dealer, Frank
S. Barry, burned to death early
today when fire of undetermined
origin destroyed a two-story frame
house on the farm of his son-in-law,
Leonard Oakes. who lives east of
this village.
Mr; and Mrs. Oakes were in
Troy wren the tragedy occurred.
They drove there over the weekend
to return their son, Barry, to
college.
The fire was discovered about
1:30 this morning by a neighbor,
Paul Parsons, who called the Lyndonville
Fire Company. The struc-
ture was a blazing inferno when
firemen arrived.
Mr. Barry's charred body was
recovered by firemen about 3:30

and Dr. David Fraser. Orleans
County coroner. Issued a certificate
of accidental death by burning.
A native of Lyndonville whehe ne
was born June 6, 1883, Mr. Barry
was the oldest son of the late Newton
and Flora Swain Barry- His
wife, Mabel Baughn, died 10 years
ago.

Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a hand-clipped
princess style Chantilly lace gown
over satin fashioned with s
basque bodice, high bateau lace
neckline, delicately outlined with
lace appliques embroidered with
iridescent sequins, and bouffant
skirt that fell to a chapel-length
train.
A lace double type crown, edged
with seed pearls and sequins, held
her fingertip veil of French imported
silk illusion. She carried a cascade
bouquet of white carnations.
Miss Marjorie Genewick, sister
of the bride, was maid of honor.
Her ballerina - length gown of cotillion
blue velveteen was fash
ioned with s fitted bodice, scoop
neckline snd circular skirt. This
was enhanced by a cummerbund
of cotillion blue tafcta that formed
a pouff bustle at the back. A
matching band of tulle and pearls
with circular veil completed her
attire. She carried a white fur
muff centered with a cascade of
yellow carnations.
The Misses Joan Stickney, Marilyn
Cescon and Cynthia Norris
were bridesmaids. Their gowns
and headpieces were like that of
the maid of honor and they carried
white fur muffs with pink
carnations.
Joy Outwater, Niagara Falls,
was flower girl. She wore a floor
length dress of cotillion blue taffeta
fashioned with scoop neckline,
accented with cotillion blue velveteen
that was repeated in panels
at the back of the skirt. Her
headband was similar to that of the
bridesmaids, end she carried a
white fur muff with yellow carnations.

David Thompson was best man.
Ushers were Michael Kilroy. Wil-
Ham D. Crump and Lawrence Outwater,
Niagara Falls.
Appropriate wedding music was
played by Eric Robichaud, organist.
For her daughter's wedding.
Mrs. Genewick chose a peacock
blue velveteen dress, and black
accessories. The groom's mother
favored a pink lace dress and
deep pink accessories. White cymbidium
orchid corsages were worn
by both mothers.
The breakfast to 100 guests was
served at the Wright's Corners
Fire Hall, where the reception to
600 guests was held. The fivetiered
wedding cake, topped with a
miniature bride and groom under
an arbor of pink roses and
lilies of the valley, was flanked
by two silver candelabra and the
attendants muffs.
The bride chose a beige knit
suit with brown accessories and
a white orchid corsage as the couple
left for a trip to New York
City. On their return, they will
live in Wright's Corners.
The bride was graduated from
St. Joseph's Academy. The groom
was graduated from Lockport Senior
High School and served two
years with the U. S. Army in Japan.

supervisor and had been treasurer
of the Farmers Mutual Insurance
Company of Erie and Niagara Counties

prominent figure in county Ameri-
can Legion work, who died Friday
in the Veterans Hospital, Buffalo,
after a long illness. He was a
native of Tonawanda.
The Rev. Walter f. Hetzel, pas-
tor of the Salem Evangelical and
Reformed Church, tonawanda, will
officiate and burial will be in White
Chapel Memorial Park.
Mr. Leber, a member of Tona-
wanda Post 164, was past post,
county and Eighth District com-
mander. He served as state de-
partment vice commander; was a
former director of the veterans
mountain camp at Tupper Lake'
child welfare chairman of the state
department for many years;
serbed on the National Committee
as chairman of Area B and was
service officer for the local post
for more than 25 years.
He served with Company K,
175th Regiment, National Guard,
from 1911 unti 1941. He retired as
armorer of the tonawanda Arm-
ory in 1949. he was a member of
Voiture 388, 40 & 8 and the Last
Man's Club of Post 264.
He was a past alderman of Tona-
wanda, serving from 1949 until
1957.
Surviving are his wife, Caroline
(nee Wober), one daughter, Mrs.
Harold Mongold; one son, Ellis G.
Leber; one grandson, William E.
Leber; his mother, Mrs. Alex Le-
ber; five sisters, Mrs. Fred Sat-

PEKIN - Lifelong resident of
the Pekin area, Elton C. Blacklock,
70, died at his home, Upper Moun-
tain Rd., Monday (Sept. 16, 1957).
He was born in the Town of Lewis-
ton Aug. 4, 1887, a son of the
late John and Bertha Heiden
Blacklock.
For 19 years, Mr Blacklock

was employed by the C. F. Treichler
and Sons Florists. Sanborn.
a n d for another 15 years as a
lathe operator at the Great Lakes
Carbon Corp . Niagara Falls. He
retired two years ago.
Mr Blacklock was a member of
Forest Lodge, 100K, Sanborn and
the Woodsmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife. Bertha
Hudson Blacklock: one daughter.
Mrs. Burton Ashby, Colonial
Village; one brother, Edgar Black-
lock, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sis-
ters, Mrs. Maude Holliday, St. Pe-
tersburg, and Mrs. Alexander
Bradt, Niagara Falls; one grand-
son and two step-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at

the Pike Funeral Home, Hoover
Rd., Sanborn, Thursday afternoon
at 2 with the Rev. W. Donald
Housser. pastor of the Sanborn
and Pekin Methodist Churches, officiating.
Burial will be in North
Ridge Cemetery.

Munzel, 81, of Shelby Center,
who died Tuesday in Medina
Memorial Hospital, was buried
today in Mount Pleasant
Cemetery, West Shelby.
Funeral services were held at
2:30 p.m. from the Barnes-
Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl
St., Medina.
A lifelong resident of the
Medina area, Mrs. Munzel was
a member of St. Peter's
Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her
husband, Herman Munzel; a
daughter, Mrs. Walter Benthin
of Medina; three grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.

At the double ring ceremony performed Saturday at the
Emmanuel Methodist Church, at 3:30, the Rev. Harold Mcllnay
united in marriage. Miss Gertrude B. Brittin and Eldred H. Collins.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan G. Brittin
of RD 2, Lockport, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Harold E. Collins of the Hatter Road, Newfane.
The church altar was decorated
with baskets of white gladioli,
geens, candelabra on each side of
altar with a centerpiece of white
glads, white mums and ferns on
the altar. arand W D. Smith,
Smith, organist, played the wed-
ding music and Mrs. Smith
sang several selections.
The bride chose a gown of
white satin, fashioned with a
winged lace colar, fitted bodice
buttoned up the front. Her full
skirt fell in chapel-ength train,
and her finger-tip veil of Chan-
tilly lace was caught by a tiara
of orange blossoms. The sleeves
were long, ending in points over
the hands and had inserts of lace
at the wrists. She wore a cameo
and earring set, gifts of the groom.
Her cascade bouquet was of white
roses and mums entwined with
ivy, and white streamers knotted
with mums.
BRIDE'S ATTENDANTS
The maid of honor was MMIss
Marian E. Brittin, sister of the
bride, who wore pink satin gown,
lace yoke, fitted bodice, full flar-
ing skirt, with matching lace mitts
and a alace and satin cap. Her cas-
cade bouquet was of pink roses
and mums, pink lacelon and rib-
bon.
The bridesmaids were Mrs. Alan
G. Brittin Jr., sister of the groom
and iss Dorothy A. Brittin, sis-
ter of the bride. Tey wore
gowns fashioned like the maid of
honor's dress, of aqua, and laven-
der. They wore lacce mitts iwt
lace and satin caps to match.
Their cascade bouquets were made
of yellow roses and yellow mums,
tied with yellow lacelon and rib-
bon. The attendants wore rhine-
stone necklace and earring sets
which were gifts of the bride.
The best man was Donald Col-
lins, Newfane, brother of the
groom, and the ushers were
George Owens, Lockport, a broth-
er-in-law and Clifford Collins, Ran-
somville, a cousin..
RECEPTION FOLLOWS
A reception was held for 250
guests at Wriht's Corners Fire
Hall. A four-tiered wedding cake
encircled with pink and white
glladioi and the bridal party bou-
quets centered the buffet table.
Miss Mary Bailey and Miss
Betty Griffin assisted at the punch
bowls and Mrs Wayne Letts
served the cake. There were 18
seated at the bridal table, where
there was a centerpiece of white
gladioli and mums.
The bride's mother wore a street
length gown of purple crepe with
matching hat and black accesso-
ries. Her corsage was of pink
roses. The groom's mother was
dressed in a street length dress
of mink brown, green hat and
black accessories and her corsage
was of talisman roses. The
groom's grandmother, Mrs. Ed-
ward Collins wore a black dress
and accessories of black with a
white corsage of mums.
The bride chose a brown and
white checked wool suit for the
wedding trip to Atlantic City. With
it, she wore green accessories
and a corsage of red roses. Upon
their return they will reside on
the Hodgevile Road, RD 2, Lock-
port.
Both are graduates of Lockport
High School. The groom served
for three years and eight months
in the Army Air Force serving in
the Pacific theater.
Pre-nuptial showers were given
by Mrs. Alan G.. Brittin Jr., Miss
Dorothy Oliver and a rehearsa
party given by the groom's par-
ents, at their home.

The wedding of Miss Shirley Mae Baldwin, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Leon R. Baldwin of Newfane, and Daniel S. Cushrnan,
son of Mr. and Mrs. John Irishman, Lockport. took place at the
Newfane Methodist Church Saturday at 2 o'clock, the Rev.
Daniel Place officiating, with groom's twin brother David Cushman
acting as best man.
The bride chose a gown of can-
dle light with swirled lace bodice
buttoned down the back, the high
round neckline was made with
small lace flowers on illusion
yoke. Her sleeves of lace came
to a ruffled point over the wrists,
and her skirt was full and fash-
ioned wiith a lace peplum over
satin, flaling in a chapel-length
train. The bride's cap was made
of the candle light pearls twisted
in net and her arm bouquet was
gardenias and lily of the valley.
The matron of honor was Mrs.
Harold Farwell, of Wilson, sister
of the bride who wore a rose pink
satin dress with over skirt of net
with satin insertions. The gown
was strapless with a bolero jack-
et, cap sleeves and mandarin col-
lar. She wore elbow-length mitts
and hat to match. the brides-
maids were dressed like the maid
of honor in peacock blue. their
arm bouquets were of blue del-
phinium, gypsophila and rose
pink pompons. they were Miss
Beverly Baldwin, sister of the
bride, of Newfane, Mrs. Robert
King, also of Newfane, and Mrs.
Rodney Sandford, of Lockport, a
cousin of the bride.
OTHER ATTENDANTS
The flower girl. Dawn Hanel,
Lockport, wore a peacock blue
princess style dress and hat to
match those of the bridesmaid
She carried a basket of flowers,
similar to those in the other at-
tendants bouquets. the ring bear-
er, Paul Baldwin, a brother of the
bride, was dressed like the ushers,
Leon R. Baldwin, Jr., Newfane,
brother of the bride, James Rich-
ardson and George Holly both of
Lockport, Who wore tuxedos.
The church was decorated with
baskets of white gladioli, rose pin
pompons and candelabra. A re-
ception was held in the church
parlors for 150 guests with 12 at
the bridal table. The organist was
Mrs. Mabel Bigelow of Buffalo
and the soloist, James Hobbs,
also of Newfane.
The bride's mother wore a gray
suit with black accessories, and
a corsage of mixed flowers. The
groom's mother wore navy with
navy accessories and a corsage of
yellow rose buds.
The grandmother of the bride,
Mrs. Lew Baldwin, was dressed
in charcoal gray, with black ac-
cessories, and a corsage of yel-
low pompons. the grandmother
of the groom wore a black dress
and accessories with a corsage of
white pompons.
PRE-NUPTIALS
Showers were given for the
bride by Mrs. Lew Baldwin, Mrs.
Robert King, Mrs. Harold Far-
well, and Mrs. Lottie Snell. A
rehersal dinner was given by
Mrs. George Kruger at her home.
Mrs. Kruger is an aunt of the
bride.
Mr. Cushman is a graduate of
Lockport Hiigh School, and is now
serving in the armed forces and
is stationed at Ft. Meade, Md.
The bride is a graduate of the
Newfane Central School.

denly in the Town of Pendleton,
Sept. 27th, 1953. He is survived by
his wife, Lydia; five children, Mrs.

Karen at home; four grandchildren:'
three sisters, Mrs. Minnie
Waibel, Mrs. Ray Greasy, Tonawanda,

Apparently dead for two hours,

George L. Bisher, 56. RD 3, Town
of Pendleton was found Thursday
at the wheel of his tractor when
his son George Jr. went to call
him for supper.
Sheriff's deputies said the tractor

had stalled in some bushes at
the edge of the field and that
Mr. Bisher had died of a heart
attack. When the South Lockport
and Wendelville Volunteer F i re
Companies arrived the tractor was
cold. Dr. L. R. Hurlbut, coroner,
and Deputy Floyd Frey invest!

Mr. Blsher was born In the Town
of Amherst, son of the late. Mr
and Mrs. Fred Blsher. He had
lived for 34 years In Pendleton
He had been In ill health for eigh
years. He had previously been employed
as a steam engineer by the
former Associated Gas and Electric
System of Lockport. He was a
member of fhe Pendleton United
Brethren Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lydla,
three daughters and two sons,
Mrs. Glenn Zahn, Ransomville. and
Jane, Karen. Norman and George
Jr., all at home; three sisters and
two brothers, Mrs. Clarence Waibel,
North Tonswanda; Mrs. Roy
Creasy, Tonawanda; Mrs. R o se
Sanford, Lockport; Burt and Walter
Bisher, Town of Cambria; also
four grandchildren.
Services will be held Sunday at
2 o'clock at the home and 2:30
at the United Brethren Church,
Pendleton, the Rev. Byron V. Ber
ry officiating. Burial will be in

The marriage of Miss Florence Mc-
Clellan,, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
John W. McClellan of 66 York St.,
Buffalo, to Mr. William H. Bowler,
formerly of this city, was solemnized
yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock,
the Rev. O. W. Jones of the First
Baptist Church performing the cere-
mony in the presence of some 30 im-
mediate relatives and friends.
The bride wore her travailing suit
of taupe broadcloth with corsage of
Killarney roses. Miss Isabelle McClel-
lan was her sister's maid and Mr
Harold Hooven acted as best man.
Immediately following the cere-
mony a supper was served, the ride's
table seating 12, being centered with
the wedding cake.
Mr. and Mrs. Bowler left later amid
a shower of rice and good wishes for
a wedding trip to Detroit. They will
be at home in Buffao after Oct 1st.
Among the out of town guests were
Mr.. and Mrs. Samuel Bowler, daugh-
ters Lucille and Mry, Mr. and Mrs.
Vincent Bowler, Mrs. Emma McClel-
lan and daughter Helen Jane and

A lovely double ring ceremony
was performed when Miss Alice M.
Schuler. daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Elmer H. Schuler, Cambria Center,
and M 1 Sergt. Joseph Hammer.
son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Hammer,
Clarence Center, were united
In marriage.
The ceremony was performed by
the Rev. Francis E. Crowley in Immaculate
Conception Catholic
Church. North Ridge. The altar
was beautifully decorated with vases
of pink roses, asters and gypsophlla.
The bride, given In marriage by
tier father wore a gown with a
white satin bodice, net yoke framed
with bead medallions, long fitted
sleeves pointed at the wrists and a
net skirt, train, a finger-tip length
veil was attached to a braided satin
halo. She carried a bouquet of
white roses and gardenias tied with
wlute satin ribbon and long white
satin streamers knotted with bits
of fur.
Miss Thelma E. Schuler, slater of
the bride, waa maid of honor. She
wore a gown of lavender net with
a satin bodice, a matching Juliet
hat and carried a bouquet of yellow
roses and daisies tied with
yellow ribbon.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Russell
Parker of Warren's Corners, Mlas
Mary E. Dyslnger of Beattie Avenue
and Miss Delores Kanehl of Clarence
Center. Mrs. Parker and Miss
Kanehl wore matching gowns
similar to that of the maid of
Honor fashioned in pink with shoulder
length veils and carried bouquets
of pink roses tied with blue
ribbon. Miss Dyslnger'a gown had
a blue taffeta bodice and a full net
skirt. Her headdress was a matching
Juliet hat. She carried pink
roses tied with a blue ribbon.
James Eichinger of Clarence was
best man. Russell Parker, Earl
Bartz and Elmer Schuler Jr.,
brother of the bride, were ushers.
The bride's mother wore a dark
green dress with black accessories
land a corsage of red roses. Mrs.
Hammer wore Navy blue with
matching accessories and a corsage
of pink roses.
Following the ceremony, a
wedding dinner for the bridal party
and Immediate family was served
at the Park Hotel. The bridal table
was centered with a three-tiered
wedding cake topped with a minia-
ture wedding bell.
A reception to 150 guests was held
at the home of the bride.
The couple left for a wedding
trip to the Adirondacks, the bride
wearing a gray wool suit with Navy
accessories.
Out-of-town guests were from
Buffalo, Tonawanda, Wilson, Ontario
and Niagara Falls.

SANBORN - Francis H. Bradlee,
64, died unexpectedly Tuesday
(Sept. 18, 1962) after being
stricken with a heart attack at
his home, 5802 West Street. He
was pronounced dead on arrival
at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Bradlee was born in Lewiston,
Dec. 13, 1897. son of
Charles N. and Ella Nichols
Bradlee. He had lived in Sanborn
since 1935. He was employed
by various construction companies
in the area as an operative
engineer until his retirement last
fall.
Mr. Bradlee was a member of
the Sanborn Methodist Church,
Ransomville Lodge 551, F&AM,
International Union of Operative
Engineers 463 and an exempt
member of the Sanborn Volunteer
Fire Co.
Survivors include his wife,
Eva Dean Bradlee; a daughter.
Mrs. Ross Johnson of Sanborn;
and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 5
and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pike
and Jones Funeral Home, Inc.,
Hoover Road, Sanborn, where
services will be held at 2 p.m.
Friday. The Rev. W. Donald
Housser will officiate. Burial will
be in North Ridge Cemetery.
Members of the Ransomville
Masonic Lodge will hold memorial
services at the funeral home
at 8 p.m. tomorrow.

BALDWIN, 50, of 427 Washburn
street, who died shortly before midnight
Sunday in Lockport City hospital
of a fractured skull suffered
at 3:40 Sunday morning when an
automobile he was driving figured
in a collision with another car on
the Lockport-olcott road at Corwin,
seven miles north of Lockport.

- Charles Baldwin,
50, of 427 Washburn street, one of
five persons injured at 3:40 Sun-
day morning in a crash between
two automobiles in the Lockport-
Olcott road near Corwins, seven
miles north of here, died shortly
after midnight yesterday in Lock-
port City hospital. A fractured skull
and internal injuries caused death.
The injured, all in the Lockport
hospital, were Frederick C. Berger,
22, of 102 Ontario street, operator
of the other machine; Marie Bed-
ford, 19, of 427 Washburn street;
Edward r. Carey, 18, of 385 South
street, all Lockport addresses, and
Sylvia Enderby, 18, of 131 South
Main street, Newfane.
The most seriously hurt is Miss
Bedford. She suffered a compound
fracture of the right elbow and
possible internal injuries. Mr. Carey
received a fractured right ankle
and a cut over the right eye. Miss
Enderby was cut on the left knee
and toe and suffered bruises. Mr.
Barger complained of chest injuries.
Mr. Baldwin, who drove his own

car. was a native of the Town of
Lockport. He was employed by the
Richmond Manufacturing company
of this city. He Is survived by a
daughter. Miss Frances Baldwin,
Lockport: five sisters and five
brothers, Mrs. Anthony Van Horn,
Mrs. James Crlswell. William. Roy
and Robert Baldwin. Lockport: Mrs
Myrtle Roth and Louis Baldwin.
Newfane: Mrs. Charles Starks and
Raymond Baldwin. Gasport. and
Mrs. .Elmer LaRouch. Oklahoma.
The funeral will be held at 2:30
p.m. tomorrow at the Taylor and
Reynolds funeral home, 70 Niagara
street. Burial will be in Corwin
cemetery.
