Survivors include her husband, Julius E. Greinert; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Alice) Kolbe, and a son, Hugo L. Had Spent Most of Her Life on Farm at Shawnee.
SHAWNEE, July 12. - The funeral of Mrs. Hannah Forth, widow of William Forth, was held Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kempton Briggs, of Tonawanda. Mrs. Forth had been in good health and suffered a heart attack while at her nephew's home in Wilson. She had spent most of her life on a farm here. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Briggs, and four sons, Edward, of Tonawanda, Herbert, of the Shawnee road, Elmer, of North Tonawanda. and Raymond, of Pekin, and twelve grandchildren. Burial was in Shawnee cemetery.

LOCKPORT- Mrs. Anna Haseley, 71, of 45 South St., died Friday (May 10, 1963) at her home after a brief illness.
Born July 6, 1891, in the Town of Royalton, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Mietz. She had lived here for about 15 years and had been employed for several years as a cook at McGlynn's Restaurant. She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, WolcottsvilIe.
Her husband, Benjamin Haseley, died in 1954.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Silvia (sic) Mahar, Gasport; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Heim, Gasport; two brothers, Herbert Mietz, Gasport, and Albert Mietz, Wolcottsville; and six grandchildren. Friends may call at the Bream Funeral Home, Gasport, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday by Rev. Hulbert Huth. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery

HASELEY - Minnie Vorpahl Haseley, 74, of 440 1/2 Schenck St, North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly Thursday (Feb. 25,1965) in St. Francis Hospital, Buffalo. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Haseley was a member of St Peter's American Lutheran Church, its Priscilla Guild, and the Lydia Circle of American Lutheran Church Women. Surviving is her husband, Edward J. Haseley, and several nieces and nephews. The family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hamp Funeral Home Inc., Adam - Seymour Streets , Tonawanda, where services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Daniel L. Olson will officiate. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Park.

NORTH TONAWANDA - Mrs. Helen Meyers, nee Greinert, wife of Charles Meyers, died today at her home, 120 East Felton street at the age of 59 years. Bom in Bergholtz, N. Y., Mrs. Meyers had resided in North Tonawanda for the last 26 years. She was a member of the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran church and the Ladles Aid society. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John W. Spange and Mrs. William Haeseler, Jr.. of this city; a son. Carl J. Meyers, of this city; three grandchildren; four brothers, Julius Greinert. of this city, and Otto, Theodore, and Edward Greinert of Wheatfield, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Kumm. of Niagara Falls. Mrs. Gustav Heisterberg. of Pendleton, N. Y.. and Mrs. George Hilderbrant, of this city. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm. from the house and at 2:30 at St. Paul's church. The Rev. Paul Fretthold will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark's cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Helen Hertz, 58 years old, widow of Otto Hertz, died at her home, 1716 Linwood avenue, yesterday, following an lllness of a week. The funeral will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Mehl, 2420 South avenue, at 2 p. m. Wednesday, with services at the Trinity Lutheran church, South avenue, at 2:30 p. m. Burial will be In St. Paul's cemetery. Martinsville. Mrs. Hertz was born in North Tonawanda and had lived In Niagara Falls for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Ladles' Aid Society of the Trinity Lutheran church and was well known in the north end of the city. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mehl and Henrietta Hertz, and three sons, Carl, Paul and Norman Hertz, all of this city: two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Fritz and Miss Emma Manth.

Born Oct. 23. 1892, in Niagara County, Mrs. Blank was the daughter of the late John (Frederick 9sic) Wolfe) Haseley. She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Wolcottsville and of its Ladies Aid Society. She had resided in this vicinity all her life. In addition to her husband, surviving are a son, Harold Blank, a daughter, Mrs. Cecil Milhollen, all of Town of Royalton; a sister. Mrs. Amelia Buehring, Lockport; and two grandchildren.

12161 Mrs. Ida Forth Dies At Age 71
Mrs. Ida M. Forth, 71, of 4607 Mapleton Road, Town of Pendleton, widow of Herbert P. Forth who died in March of 1965, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Oct. 17, 1967) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. Mrs. Forth was stricken with a heart attack at the home of one of her sons and taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Born May 12, 1896 in the Town of Porter, she was a daughter of Ernest and Fredericka Schultz. She was a resident of the Town of Wheatfield for more than 50 years, and had lived at the Mapleton Road address for several years. She was a member of Beach Ridge Free Methodist Church. Surviving are six sons and a daughter, Carl Forth of Lockport, LeGrand, Herbert Jr., Paul and Ernest Forth, all of North Tonawanda, Edward Forth of Sanborn and Mrs. Earl (Janet) Grosskopf of Tonawanda; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Elizabeth Jacobs of Appleton, Mrs. Winifred Harrod of Barker, Mrs. Minnie Mcintosh of Tonawanda, Ernest Schultz of Newfane and Rudolph Schultz of Appleton; also 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kroening died Saturday (Sept. 4, 1965) in Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Surviving, besides her husband Elmer; are five sons, Martin and Harry Kroening of Sanborn, John and Herbert Kroening of Lockport, and Raymond Kroening of Ransomville; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Haseley of Sanborn and Mrs. Dennis DeVantier of Bergholtz. Also surviving are two brothers, Edward and Erwin Walck of Sanborn; two sisters, Mrs. William Walck and Mrs. Martin Pfohl of Sanborn; and 25 grandchildren. She had been ill for a year. Mrs. Krull, wife of Philip H. Krull, a resident of Clarence Center for the last 25 years, was born Nov. 11, 1889, in the Town of Wheatfield She was a daughter of the late Gustav and August Proefrock Schendel. She and her husband marked their 52nd wedding anniversary April 25. They were married at Martinsville, N.Y. in 1909. In addition to her husband, surviving are three sons. Irene E. Leggett. 67, of the Dickersonville Road, Town of Lewiston, died Tuesday (June 9, 1964) at the Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo. She was born Nov. 17, 1896, in Medina, the daughter of the late William and Grace Young of Wilson. She had lived in the Dickersonville area 46 years. Mrs. Leggett is a graduate of Wilson Central School and the teachers training class at Wilson. She had taught school in the Lake Road, Town of Porter, at Sanborn, and in several schools in the Town of Lewiston. After she retired from teaching, she operated the Leggett Flower Shop at 1510 Main St., Niagara Falls. She retired from the business about three years ago. Mrs. Leggett was a member of the Dickersonville Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Durwood Leggett; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Hewitt, at home: Mrs. Robert Miller, Lewiston and Mrs. Howard Williams, Ransomville; a brother, Fred Young, Lockport, and five grandchildren. Mrs. Emily Luick, 85, of 1110 92nd St, a native of Germany and resident of this, city for the last 82 years, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years. Mrs. Luick arrived in the LaSalle section in 1873 at the "age of three with her four brothers and three sisters. She had lived at the 92nd St. home since her marriage to Jack Luick in 1893. Her husband was a constable for 30 years. Her father farmed land near Pine Ave, Blvd. and the 94th St. bridge. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Shomers Sr., Mrs. Samuel Salt, Mrs. Simon Frawley, this city; Mrs. Vaughn Nevling, Madera, Pa.; four sons, Elmer Luick, John Luick, Fred Luick and Carl Luick, all this city; 25 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. 12175 Mrs. Margaret F. Pluff, age 94, of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY passed away Sunday, July 2nd, 2006 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.
Mrs. Pluff was born in Luzerne, Switzerland on August 5, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Etine and Rosalee (Kuchler) Pierroz.
She had lived in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, for many years, prior to moving to Sanborn, in 1951. She had resided in the former St. Mary's Nursing Home and then moved to the new Our Lady of Peace Residence when it opened.
She was well known in as a furrier, who could remake or alter women's fur coats. She had taught adult education, at the Adult Education Building on Whitney Avenue, in Niagara Falls, for many years as well as at Starpoint Central School and Niagara Wheatfield Central Schools.
Margaret was also know for her banking skills and great pies. She enjoyed playing the organ, and many neighbor's and friend could enjoy her playing during the spring and summer months when the doors were open. She was able to speak fluent French and German, and enjoyed traveling to Europe.
She was a member of the Organ Club,and had played and many Senior Center's , including in Lockport, Niagara County, NY, for the Dale Association.
She was a longtime parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church Ransomville, NY, and donated her organ to the church, when she moved from her home.
She was predeceased by her husband Francis M. Pluff, who died September 17, 1970.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Harrell, of North Tonawanda, Niagara County, NY; Joyce [ Donald ] Powell, of Detroit, MI; five sons, Francis J. [ Judy ] Pluff; Robert Pluff, both of Crossville, TN; John [ Linda ] Pluff, of Bridgeton, NJ; James [ Bonnie ] Pluff, of Sanborn, NY; Daniel [ Sandy ] Pluff, of Lockport, Niagara County, NY; two brothers, John Pierroz and Dennis Pierroz, both of Hamilton, Ont.; She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Anna Pierroz and brothers Joseph, Aloysius and Etine Pierroz.
There will be no prior visitation.

Sanborn - Mrs. Marilyn Louis (sic) Baum, 41, of 6174 Walmore Road, died today (Feb. 20, 1973) after being stricken with an apparent heart attack.
Mrs. Baum was the wife of the Rev. Harold L. Baum, pastor of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church here.
She was a native of Maplewood, NJ and had resided in Youngstown, OH where she was a Christian Day school teacher. Mrs. Baum lived in Pittsburgh, Pa. From 1960 to 1970 prior to coming to Sanborn with her husband who became pastor of St. Peter's Church at the time,.
She was a fifth and sixth grade school teacher at St. Peter's also was music director at the school.
Mrs. Baum was the choir director of St. Peter's Church and was a member of the American Lutheran Church Women of St. Peter's. She also was a member of the American Guild of Organists, Niagara Falls Chapter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Mark and Paul Baum and a daughter Carolyn Ruth Baum, all at home; her mother Mrs. Thelma Ramsey of Youngstown, OH and a brother William Ramsey of Harriman TN.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8 P.M. at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Spieler, dean of the Western area, Eastern District of the American Lutheran Church and the rev. Herman Bassler of Trinity Old Lutheran Church of Amherst officiating. Burial will take place Friday in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Youngstown Ohio.

Mrs. Mary Snell, 92, widow of a former Town of Pendleton Supervisor, died Monday (Aug. 30, 1956) in a Buffalo hospital after an illness of several years.
Born Aug. 3, 1864 in Pendleton, she was the daughter of Mathias and Dorothy Hartel Wendel, and spent the greater part of her life in that area. Her husband, an active Democratic insider and former supervisor, town clerk, and highway superintendent, died about 21 years ago.
Mrs. Snell was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Reformd Church, Wendelville, and the Ladies Aid Society.
Surviving are one son, Homer P. Snell, and two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence E. Ball and Miss Erna M. Snell, all of Pendleton; onebrother, H.P. Wendel, Lockport, and four grandchildren.

12193 Mrs. Nettie Bradley Martin, formerly of Youngstown and wife of the late Grant W. Martin, passed away Sunday October 23, 2016 at her home in Walterboro, SC. She was 100.

Nettie was born in Lockport, NY March 17, 1916, the daughter of the late Frank and Theda (Lafler) Bradley. She and her late husband owned and operated Martin's Dry Goods Store in Youngstown for many years. She was a member of the Youngstown Study Club, the Tatler Bridge Club, and the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown. After moving to Walterboro over twenty years ago to be near her daughter, she became a member of Bedon Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn M. Anderson of Walterboro, and by two sisters, Esther Hardison and Mildred Hillman both of Ransomville; three grandchildren, Meagan A. Marvin of Walterboro, and Elspeth C. Dyal and Jeffrey M. Anderson of Lexington, SC; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Martin McCormick; two sisters, Marion Shippy and Dora Chestnut; and two brothers, Miles and Harvey Bradley.

Funeral services will be held at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville on Saturday, November 5, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bedon Baptist Church Family Life Center, 2370 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro, SC 29488.

12194 Mrs. Norma Jean LaMachia, of Medina, passed into eternal life on October 1, 2015. Norma, the daughter of Nelson and Grace Eichelkraut, was born on September 28, 1934 in Royalton Center, and lived most of her life in Medina, NY. Norma was predeceased by her loving husband, Philip, in 2012. She is survived by her son, Philip (Michelle) LaMachia, Jr., and daughters Susan (Robert) Simbida and Lisa (Martin) Roeseler. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary and Jacob Roeseler, and Chelsea (Ben) LaMachia-Woods. She leaves behind sister-in-law Verna Iorio, along with several nieces and nephews. Norma was employed for many years by the Medina Central School District in the Wise Jr. High School cafeteria, and later as a clerical employee in the School District Office until her retirement in 1997. During her life, Norma was actively involved in the Medina Band Boosters, Red Hats, Catholic Daughters, and was a TWIG volunteer at Medina Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed camping, reading, collecting books, and sitting on her deck watching the creek. Norma was a kind woman who never hesitated to help friends in need. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Sunday 2-5 PM at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center Street, Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Stephen's Church in Middleport. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum. 12195 Mrs. Patricia M. Hoover, 82, of Sanborn, NY passed away Wednesday, June 25th, 2008 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, Niagara County, NY, after a short illness.

Mrs. Hoover was born in Rochester, Monroe County, NY on February 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John and Alberta (Thomas) McCann. Pat was a graduate of LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, in the Class of 1945. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church Ransomville, NY. Pat was a homemaker who for many years kept track of the records of the family Hoover's Dairy, in Sanborn. She was a member and past chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sanborn American Legion, she was a member of the Sanborn Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, where she had served as past secretary and vice president. She enjoyed baking and had made many pies for the old Sanborn Field Days.

Pat had a great Irish sense of humor, she enjoyed working on family history, and keeping the family straight on English grammar. She loved her family, friends, animals, especially her cat "Tippy", dogs, birds, and of course chasing the farms cows.

Surviving is her loving husband of 62 years, Eugene, two sons, Robert E. [ Judy ] Hoover, Dennis J. [ Denise ] Hoover, grandchildren, Robert E. [ Darci ] Hoover, II, Christina [ Michael ] Herlan, Thomas Hoover, Brian [ Mary ] Hoover and Tammy Hoover, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She is the sister in law of Ruth [ late Dr. Lee ] Carrel; Lloyd [ Elfreide ] Hoover; Janet [ Rick ] Latham.

The family will be present on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road. The Sanborn Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service Friday at 7 PM, followed by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sanborn Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, at 1:30 PM on Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road [ Rt. 429 ], Ransomville, NY, with Rev. James C. O'Connor officiating. Interment will be in the Wheatfield Cemetery, Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY.

Funeral Services to be Held at Sacred Heart Church Monday

Mrs. Margaret L. Pendergast, widow of Peter Pendergast, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward A Cromley, 9130 Pine Avenue, after a brief illness. The funeral will be held from Mrs. Cromley's home at 8:30 a.m. Monday, with services at Sacred Heart church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Riverdale cemetery.
Born in Pike, N.Y., Mrs. Pendergast had lived here 45 years and had many friends in the city. She was a member of the Ladies of the Mascabres. Surviving her are five sons and one daughter, William J., Harold V. and Leonard Pendergast and Mrs. Cromley, all of this city, and Leo C. and Raymond J. Pendergast, of Buffalo; a sister, Mrs. Anna Norton, of this city, and a brother, Peter Skea, also of this city.

For the past five years she was employed by the Schenck Drygoods store. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. in the John O. Roth Funeral Home, 60 Morgan St., and at 2:30 p. m. from the St Paul's church. The Rev. F. A. Hinners will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Friends invited.

She married Homer John Raduns on April 19, 1952, in Wolcottsville, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. Homer died March 29, 2000. Funeral of Beloved Pioneer Resident Will Be Held Friday
Mrs. Rose Hannel, one of the pioneer residents of the north end of the city, passed away this morning. She was born, March 11, 1852, at Rodelstadt, Germany, and attained the age of 71 years. Coming to Niagara Falls at an early age, she was married to Alexander J. Hannel of Alsace Lorraine, France, who died early in life, at the age of 40 in the year 1856. There were nine children, seven of whom are at present residents of Niagara Falls: Mrs. Jacob Kelberer, Mrs. Chester Collard, Mrs.. David Leighton, George Hannel, Charles Hannel, Mrs. Albert Slack. Mrs. Robert Golinski. Miss Emma Hannel is the wife of the Rev. Dr. John O. Sparmon, pastor of the first M. E. church, Arlington, N. J., who will participate In the funeral services. Albert Hannel lives at Melbourne, Florida. Besides 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. J. Seller and Mrs. D. Lippert survive her. Always warm hearted, generous, cordial and friendly, Mrs. Hannel had, a host of friends. With a character above reproach she graced the community. She had all the qualities which dignify and endear motherhood and thus she established a home which exemplified the highest ideals. She was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her religious devotion was characterized by that sincerity which everyone respects and her religious life was a continual inspiration; Blessed with large gifts of the heart in particular, she became a blessing. The funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the residence of Charles Hannel, 370 Spruce avenue.

12200 Mrs. Rosina “Rose” O’Kussick, of Medina, passed away on July 10, 2016 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.


Mrs. O’Kussick was born in Medina, October 13, 1925, the daughter of the late Cesedio and Giovanna “Jenny” (Yucatone) Stornelli. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School. On October 14, 1950, she married Leon F. O’Kussick and they resided in Medina lifelong.

Mrs. O’Kussick was employed by Harrison Radiator Division of GMC, for 20 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church, Court Santa Maria #295, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, was a former member of the St. Mary’s Mother Club and was an active member of St. Mary’s Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, crafts, making candy and ceramics.


Survivors include three children, Patricia (Dick) Townsend of Albion, Mary Ann (Kenneth) Ander of Medina and Peter (Pamela) O’Kussick of Auburn; 5 grandchildren, Scott Boccaccio, Christine Ander, Patrick Ander, Kelly O’Kussick and Leeann (Mark) Cornelius; a great grandchild, Layla Jones; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Leon F. O’Kussick, on January 21, 2016; and her brothers, Samuel in 1929, Dominic in 1955, Alexander in 1999, Sandino “Sandy”, Sr. in 2002 and Settimo “Babe” in 2003.


Friends may call on Thursday (4-7) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center Street, Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11AM at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
