Tansley yesterday afternoon becamo the wife of Christian Wltmer, son of John M. "Witmer, of this city. The ceremony was performed at tho home of the bride's parents, No. 435 Second street, by the Rev. Albert S. Bacon, pas- tor of the First Presbyterian church. The bride, looking charming in her gown of hard-embroidered net over cream messaline satin, trimmed with baby Irish insertion, and carrying a show- er bouquet of bridal roses, entered the parlot, which had been prettily decorated with roses and evergreens, leaning on the arm of her father. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Maude robbins, of Lockport, who wore an Alice blue silk gown and carried pink carnations. Miss Edith Witmer, a sister of the groom, played the Mendelssohn wedding march. Charles Van Duser, Jr., was the best man. the general color scheme carried out in the decorations was pink and white. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Wit- mer received the hearty congratulations of all present for a long and happy married life. A bountiful supper was served. Mr. and Mrs. Witmer left on the 11 o'clock train for Buffalo and this morning de- parted for Washington, D.C. where they will spend a week. Those present included S.E. Thomas, or 1164 Eightyninth street, was ratally Injured in a trarric accident at Port Dlx, N. J., where he was a member or Company B. 174th Inrantry. Word of the fatality reached here last evening and the young soldier's father learned of his son's death while he was driving a police patral car in the La Salle section of the city. Complete details of the accident have not been learned here. Private Thomas and other soldiers were said to have been returning to quarters a«er delivering a load or supplies when the truck on which they were driving overturned.
