He is survived by his former wife, Sandra Babola Strope and children, Michelle J. Turner (Justin), Jess J. Strope and Cassandra M. Strope. Also his cherished grandson, Levi Jaxon Strope, and granddaughter Taylor Turner. Joe is also survived by his two siblings; Jack (Edna) Strope and Sandra Onofrio. He had numerous nieces and nephews. Joe’s children and his grandson were a constant source of pride to him. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Joe was a self-employed contractor and enjoyed doing so up to his cancer diagnosis in early 2020. Joe could fix anything. Joe had a passion for vintage cars and spending his time with his “boy” Levi. He was a man of character who was devoted to his family and loyal to his friends. He will be greatly missed. A service of remembrance will be planned in the future. Kimberly was born on October 19, 1980 to Carl and Linda (nee Caradonna) Stiles of North Tonawanda where she lived and worked for the first half of her life. Kim attended St. Matthew Christian Day School (where she was honored with the Christian Citizenship Award), North Tonawanda High School, and Binghamton University where she received a Bachelors Degree in marketing. Kim worked locally at the Red Apple, Stange Insurance Agency and Superior Lubricants until moving to Charlotte where she secured a position as a Project Management Consultant for Liberty Property Trust. On November 20, 2010 Kim Married Scott W. Sayles, Jr. (formerly of Buffalo) and together they have two sons Max (10) and Syrius (7). Kim was also Step-mother to Scott W. Sayles, III of Buffalo and step-grandmother to Avanti Norman. In October of 2019 Kim appeared as a contestant on Wheel of Fortune and was also in the audience on Let's Make a Deal. She also enjoyed part-time work as a narrator and voiceover artist. Michael worked as a Controls Technician most recently at Integer Holdings. He obtained his bachelors degree from Buffalo State College. He was born on August 30th, 1978, to Thomas and Peggy Allard, and grew up in North Tonawanda, New York where he attended high school and was active in the local music community. Michael developed a passion for music at a young age and began playing the saxophone in his school's band. He quickly became a talented musician and went on to win numerous awards for his performances. Michael was particularly fond of Charlie Parker and would often spend hours listening to his records, perfecting his own craft. In addition to his musical talents, Michael was known for his sociable personality and infectious laugh. He had a gift for making people feel at ease and was always the life of the party. Michael had a large group of friends and was loved by all who knew him. Michael is survived in death by his parents Thomas and Peggy Allard, his brother Mark and his wife Jackie Allard, his nephews Thomas J and William, and his nieces Stephanie and Cassidy Allard and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 1686 | Obituary for Richard Dean Keil Richard Dean Keil died of natural causes on June 11, 2024. He was age 103 years and 4 days young. Richard was born in 1921 in Haileyville, Oklahoma, a town of approximately 800 people, to Albert Keil and Florence Easton. He lived on a farm with his two brothers, two sisters, four horses and parents. He rode his horse to school and learned to hunt at an early age, acquiring a lifetime love of the outdoors. At age 14, Richard and his family moved to North Tonawanda where he spent the rest of his life. He initially attended a one-room schoolhouse on Niagara Falls Blvd. He graduated with honors from N. Tonawanda High School and received an American Legion leadership award. Following high school, Richard enlisted in the US Army where he served for one year. Subsequently, World War II expanded and Richard’s life as a civilian was interrupted. He was drafted by the US Army for a second term of about three years. He was assigned to the US 8th Airforce, European theater, based in England. He was a B-29 bomber crew chief. Richard also had musical talents the Army recognized, and they enlisted him as a tuba player who also played strings in the Army’s dance band. Harmonica was another of his favorite instruments. After the war, Richard married Jane Ewald, and they raised a family. Richard earned a bachelor’s degree in education from University of Buffalo. He taught school in Cato, NY briefly before returning to N. Tonawanda and joining Bell Aerospace in 1950 where he spent the rest of his career in contracts management. He is proud to have worked on the Minuteman missile and other notable projects. Richard had many interests and hobbies, including hunting, fishing, camping, business news and personal investing. He never met a garage sale he didn’t like. He held leadership responsibilities in his local church and the Chautauqua Institute Disciples of Christ Richard earned media attention as a centenarian and WWII veteran. He participated in two Honor Flights to Washington, DC. He frequently spoke to students and veteran groups about his life experiences. He acquired many new friends later in life who met regularly for coffee and conversation at Tim Hortons. Richard’s wife, Jane, and his four siblings predeceased him. He is survived by his four children: Douglas Keil (Beverly); Deborah Cramer (David); David Keil (Karen); and Dena Lupke (late Robert); ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Richard lived independently through his advanced age in part because of the excellent care he received over many years from the VA Hospital of Buffalo. He was the proud papa of Ian, Samuel and Maxwell Schiffmacher. Bob is survived also by many nieces and nephews. A hardworking man, Bob began work at the International Papermill, and later was employed by General Motors as a stationary engineer at Harrison Radiator where he retired after 25 years. But Bob got most joy from playing baseball. He played for the Great Lakes-Niagara League in St. Catherines in 1957 and played for his companies hardball and softball teams, along with Ship and Shore. Bob's retirement allowed for travel with friends, but mostly trips to Wilmington, Delaware where he spent time attending concerts, games, and events for his grandchildren. Distance did not matter; he was always a phone call away. The boys always looked forward to the Sunday conversations and wisdom. Robert Heckman was a faithful man with a deep belief in God. He was open about the power of faith and belief in Heaven. We are blessed by the mark made upon our hearts. We have been left with great memories and stories to be treasured forever. He was employed at Durez Plastics for a number of years, after which he created his own family business, Vaillancourt Home Design in North Tonawanda, which had a high reputation for quality and service. He was a member of the Erie and Niagara Chamber of Commerce, member of Niagara County Builders Association and Commissioner of Operations at Rushford Lake also an avid gardener. 1692 | Obituary for Rose Emily Sieracki (nee Karp) ROSE EMILY KARP WINTER SIERACKI Rose E. Sieracki, 91, of North Tonawanda, died peacefully on May 3, 2023 with her children at her bedside. She is survived by her son Rick (Peggy) Winter, son Ron (Joan) Winter, daughter Robin (Ray) Jasper, two step-sons, Victor and Mike Sieracki, several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Born in Niagara Falls, NY to Joseph and Rozalja Karp, she was predeceased by her parents, brothers Ted Malec, Al Malec, Hank Karp and Stan Karp, her stepdaughter Annette Sieracki, and her two husbands, Robert D. Winter and Victor J. Sieracki. The grandchildren, of whom she was so proud, include Elliott (Alicia) Winter, Nathan (Bridget) Winter, Daryl Klimecko, Austin Jasper, Colin Jasper, Rachel Winter and Lydia Winter. To them she was - and always will be - 'Babci'. Rose graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949 before moving to Washington, D.C. to work for the Department of the Army. Upon her return to her hometown, she married an Airman from Ohio and raised a family before re-entering the work force. Rose was a long-time employee of Niagara County Community College as a typist in various departments, including Social Sciences, Security, Business, Fine Arts and Administration, prior to her retirement in 1988. One of her proudest achievements was to see her children and grandchildren begin their post-high school education at NCCC. Rose loved to travel, play cards and cheer on the endeavors of her children and grandchildren. She could often be found at gymnastics meets, dance recitals, dinners with dignitaries or courtroom showdowns. She was always well-dressed and loved socializing, whether at the NCCC Gala, Sikora Post or at a political function, often in the company of her twin boys. Rose spent her 60s living alone in Florida before returning to NT about 15 years ago. She maintained an active lifestyle until she was felled by a stroke in 2018, after which she required nursing home care. The family is grateful to Rosa Coplon Jewish Home at Weinberg Campus for the care and concern shown by the staff during her four years there, allowing her to live out the remainder of her life with grace and dignity. She was born on August 27, 1928, to the late Fred and Florence (Hasley) Loge’ and grew up in Niagara Falls, NY, and lived in Lewiston, NY, before moving to Florida. She truly enjoyed traveling and was able to spend a lot of time in Mexico and Niagara, Wisc. where she liked reconnecting with nature, the smell of wood smoke in the air, Canadian geese, the slower pace of life and the color of leaves in Autumn. Ruth liked playing Mexican Train, practicing Tia Chi, doing water aerobics, and was a super competitive ping-pong player. Shelly is the most devoted and loving wife of her best friend, the late Steve Mason Jackson, III. She is the beloved mother of Tammy (Copella) Swatsworth. Most cherished and loving grandmother of Angela Marie Wright and Kristen (Sam) Felix and most loving and admired GG to Jordan Mason, Gianna Lynn, Mara Danielle-Paige and Michael Patrick. Dearest friend of Carolyn Clancy and Sandra Hess. Shelly had a natural talent for interior design and an eye for fashion and all of the latest trends. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, attending Home Bureau classes and betting on the horse races. She especially enjoyed going to the movies and dinner with her granddaughters and great grandchildren throughout the years. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up, as she would often attend chorus concerts, basketball, football and softballs games, any school award ceremony, you name it, she was there. Shelly will be truly missed by all that have had the pleasure in knowing her. She will forever stay in our hearts. She is now reunited with her best friend, Steve.
