Arnold P. “Arnie” Widmer, age 81, of Ransomville, died Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Buffalo General Medical Center in Buffalo, Ny. Arnie was born on January 31, 1941, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late Frederick and the late Lillian (Zahno) Widmer. Arnie graduated from Lew-Port CSD in 1959. He enjoyed snowmobiling, stock car racing, hunting, fishing, and helping out Don McGinnis Racing.He served in the U.S Army from 1963 to 1965 and was employed by Washington Mills in Niagara Falls, NY as a Millwright for 37 years retiring in 2002. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.No services will be held. Audrey M. Smith, age 87, of Ransomville wife of the late Ronald R. Smith entered into rest on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at home. Audrey was born March 5, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY. She is the daughter of the late Edward and the late Catherine Pokelwaldt. She married Ronald R. Smith on August 15, 1951 he predeceased on November 27, 2000. 
 
Audrey was a homemaker all of her life where she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and the New York Yankees.
She is survived by four sons: Robert (Sherri) Smith of Highlands, TX Gerald Smith of Ransomville, NY, Kenneth Smith (Angel McGinnis) of Ransomville, NY and Daniel (Beverly) Smith of Lockport, NY; her sister Beverly (Chuck) Blaise of Chicago, IL; sister in-law Barbara Mullins of Florida also ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara A. Faery of Ransomville, NY was laid to rest on June 26, 2021. Born on March 2, 1945 in Fort Oglethorpe, GA, she was the daughter of the late William and Gloria (Heley) Shoemaker. Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas; four daughters, Lisa (Mitch) Woodard, Christina Palermo, Michele (Steven) Bodie and Trisha (Michael) Mahar; her beloved grandchildren Kyle, Justin, Ava, Payton, Nicholas, Eli and Spencer; her sister René (Harvey) Shoemaker and many other relatives in the US and Canada. In addition, she was predeceased by her sister Linda Pinder.Barbara lived in Niagara Falls, NY as a child before residing in Staten Island, NY. She attended the University at Buffalo for a short time to pursue a degree in Pharmacy. She married Thomas A. Faery on June 26, 1965 and resided in Ransomville, NY for the remainder of her life. Barbara enjoyed working with flowers and selling fruits and vegetables at the family farm. She also enjoyed card club and weekly coffee with the ladies, as well as extended family gatherings with her relatives in Canada. Most of all, she adored her grandkids dearly and loved spending time with them.NO PRIOR VISITATION. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, June 30 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church 4671 Townline Rd. Ransomville, NY 14131. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery following.

Barbara Jane Bunce, age 59 of Ransomville, died Saturday March 24, 2018 in Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, after a lengthy illness.

Barbara was born January 12, 1959 in North Tonawanda, NY, the daughter of the late Fred and Doris (Martin) Stringfellow. She was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business from Niagara University. Barbara was employed in the Accounting/HR department of AVVID (Niagara Thermal) for 5 years before beginning a 30 year career at Science Kit, Inc. in Tonawanda where she an Office Manager/E-Commerce. She married Ted Bunce on March 14, 2008.

Barbara was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Messiah in Lewiston where she served on the church council and was a former Treasurer. She was also a member of the Villagers Women's Club. She enjoyed farming, camping and being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Ted; her children, Jennifer (Jonathan) Payne, Dr. Jonathan Shafer , Nathaniel, Cecelia, Cassandra, Mitchell, and Matthew Bunce; two sisters, Carol (Don) Scalice and Teri Nealen-Stringfellow; a brother, Fred Stringfellow, and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday from 4 - 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 31, at 9:00 AM in the Lutheran Church of The Messiah, 915 Oneida St., Lewiston, with the Rev. Thomas Mason officiating. Barbara Jean McGraw passed away October 6, 2020 peacefully under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born April 15, 1946 in Boise, Idaho she was the daughter of William and Joan (Scarborough) Hall.  Barbara worked for Hall’s Toyota in Lockport performing clerical duties and later as a cook which she loved to do.  Barbara was fun, hardworking, and enjoyed working outdoors.  She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick W. Hayes, Sr. in 1977.
Barbara is survived by her children Patrick Hayes, Jr., Heather (Tom) Quattrini, and Erin (Scott) Koscho; grandchildren Matthew, Mia, Maggie, Scott Jr., Sarah, Silas, and Savannah; siblings Susan Hall and late D. Scot (Jeanne) Hall; several nieces and nephews; ex-husband James McGraw.

Mietlicki Ohol Sr.  Belbina loved being surrounded with her family and loved ones. She loved gardening, shopping and being with her two dogs. Jack and odie. 
Belbina is survived by her companion of 20 years, Craig Will; mother of Scott Wetherwax, Heather Clor, Nicholas Will and Connor Will.  She was the sister of Adam (Ruth) Ohol Jr., Michael (Barbara) Ohol Sr., Daniel (Carmen) Ohol, Rodney Ohol, Darlene (Neil) Livergood, Steven (Jan) Ohol, Bonnie (Jeff)  Sherrie, Kevin Ohol and Wayne (Lisa) Ohol.  Belbina is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Whenever you see a beautiful, colorful sunset in the western sky, think of me smiling down from Heaven.”Bernetta (Bernie) Broeker Kraatz, age 96, of Lewiston, passed away on June 14, 2022, in Hospice at Northgate Health Care Facility, North Tonawanda, after a brief illness. Born April 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lauretta (McCollum) Broeker. Bernie was a resident of Ransomville, NY before moving to Town of Niagara in 1971, and then Lewiston in 2018.As a youngster she attended a one room school and was raised on a farm in the Town of Porter. In 1942, after Pearl Harbor, her family was forced to leave their farm on orders from the U.S. government, so that they could use the property to make TNT for the Manhattan Project.Bernie graduated in 1943 from the “Red Brick” School in Youngstown, and was a secretary at DeVeaux Military Academy from 1943 to 1947. On June 12, 1947, she married Gerald (Jerry) Kraatz, who passed in 1999. In the early 60’s she worked at the family-owned Kraatz Red & White Grocery Store in Ransomville. Later on she worked as an Account Clerk at Wilson Central School for 15 years, she retired in 1981.Bernie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown and served as a deacon. She loved playing pinochle and euchre at the Lewiston Senior Center as well as traveling and volunteering at both Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital and Memorial Medical Center.She is survived by one son, Larry Kraatz of Vero Beach, Florida, a daughter, Susan (Marty) Martinez of Youngstown, and two daughters-in-law, Sandy and Lucy Kraatz. Also seven grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey Martinez, Misty (Gerard) Hopkins, Alaina (Senyo) Agidi, Summer Kraatz, Bethany Kraatz, Matthew (Krystal) Brown, and Stacy (Jerry Jr.) Horton, five great-grandchildren, a sister, Erva (Ray) Graf of Arizona, and one niece and nephew. Bernie was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Broeker, as well as two sons, William (Bill) and Timothy.A private graveside service will be held by her family officiated by Rev. Bonnie was born December 6, 1955 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Henry J. and Helen (Banach) Ketch and has lived in Ransomville since 1963. She worked on the Assembly Line at Delphi Thermal Systems (Harrison Radiator) in Lockport for 30 years, retiring in 2006. Bonnie enjoyed cooking, baking, and her pets.
She married Greg Miller on August 27, 1983. Greg predeceased her in 2005. She is survived by a sister, Susan (Paul) Hurtgam and a brother, Henry J. (Tammy) Ketch, Jr. both of Ransomville; her nieces and nephews, Brett, Kyle (Lori), and Paula Hurtgam, Christopher and Samantha (Rob) Hillman; and her great nieces and nephew, Armen and Alina Ketch, and Paisley Hillman.

She is the daughter of the late Clarence and the late Leona Coleman Bish. Bernice married Frederick Snyder on July 30, 1948. She was employed by Carborundum Co. Niagara Falls, NY as a laborer retiring after 30 plus years. Bernice was a member of the Ransomville Free Methodist Church for many years, she enjoyed being with her family, bowling, cooking, baking and canning and had a great love for her pet toy poodle Cody.
 
She is survived by her children Ronald (Jacqueline) Snyder and Debra Prater; her grandchildren Brandon (Laura) Snyder; Patricia (Richard) Ray Jr. and Nita Snyder; great grandchildren, Abigale, Emma and Jackson; her Siblings, Dolores Gahagen, John (Nancy) Bish, Tim (Peggy) Bish and Joyce (Jack) Shankle.
 
Bernice is predeceased by her husband Frederick and her Siblings Darryl, Clarence, Myron, Betty, Bonnie and Gerald.

Beth Holly Wells, 60, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully at home June 25, surrounded by her immediate family and close friends after a long, courageous battle with melanoma cancer. Born in Tonawanda, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Norma (Everett) Wells. Beth graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1978 as a student of cosmetology. She worked as a pharmacy technician for many years at Rite Aid in Niagara Falls, and most recently at St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. She also worked at various other places, as she had relocated to Arizona, Michigan and then Florida with her beloved fiancé, the late Richard Barnes. Beth was very active with Niagara County Girl Scouts as a troop leader from Brownies to Cadettes, passionately involved for her daughters. Teaming up with another troop, she worked for two years fundraising for an educational trip to Gettysburg, PA, Norfolk Naval Base, Williamsburg, VA along with fun times and great memories at Virginia Beach and Busch Gardens. In her spare time, she was an avid crafter. Beth joined her friends weekly for craft night. She also enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. Most importantly, Beth spent her life devoted to her daughters and grandchildren. Beth is survived by her daughter, Wendy Brosius; grandsons Christopher Brosius, Jordan Robinson, and Eann Robinson; great grandson Armani Robinson; brother David (Kathleen) Wells; stepbrother Roger (Sue) Stone, nephews Jeremy, Paul, Robert, and Adam; nieces Jennifer, Stacy, Norma and Carmen; sisters-in-law Sharon and Marty, many cousins, her lifelong friends Cheryl, Laurie and Kim, as well as her loyal dog Jade. Beth is also survived by her predeceased daughters partner Michael Grover, and family. She is predeceased by her daughter, Christine; fiancé Rick Barnes; nephew Michael; niece Alice; sisters Sharon and Leslie and brothers James and Robert. Betty worked at National Grinding Wheel and DeGraff Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Pius X and St. John the Baptist RC Church.
She was the wife of 66 years to the late Richard Graham, mother of David (Debra) Graham, Mary Beth (Scott) Bickel, the late Richard Jr. aand Joseph Graham; grandmother of Alissa (Otto) Neubaurer, Kailey (Jon) Baum, Dawn (Bill) Roller, Brent (Christina) Graham, Derrick Murschel, Melissa and Matthew Warren; great grandmother of Grant, Killian, Lucas.
Betty was also survived by her brothers Lynn (Rochelle), Lester (Karen), John (Rosann) and Jim (Barb) Shiesley, her sisters-in-law Adelle Stadler, Ann Gernstl; brother-in-law Eddie (Mary) Graham and the late Donald (Dorothy) Graham.

Predeceased by parents Herman and Ruth (Stagner) Eldredge, sisters Dora Blackmon and Lucy Walker, and survived by siblings Mary Urtel and Bruce Eldredge, husband Kenneth and daughters Ann (Joseph) Ottobre and Patricia, grandchildren Erin (Ryan) Wallington and Steven Ottobre, and great-grandson Maddox Joseph Wallington, and loving nieces, nephews, neighbors, extended family, and dedicated LHS Class of 1950 friends. Retirement from Niagara County Department of Social Services led her to Diocese of Buffalo Ladies of Charity serving as projects volunteer, president, and co-coordinator of the annual fashion “Style Show” for 17 years. At Lockport All Saints Parish, she handcrafted baptismal bibs and stolls, cleaned the church, tended gardens, and lectored.She enjoyed gardening, laughing, family, writing commemorative poems, vacations at Lake George, WNY summers on her front porch, and holidays, especially her annual July 4th picnic. She sewed flawlessly. A relentless recycler and ever-energetic spitfire, Betty left this earth better than she found it. Her loss rings far and wide. Her Memorial Mass is Saturday, December 21, 2019, 11:00 a.m. in All Saints Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. She was born on March 21, 1941, daughter of the late Sylvester and Dorothy (Arndt) Blank of Sanborn. Betty attended elementary school in at the District #2 Tuscarora Road One Room Schoolhouse, later graduated from Trott Vocational High School, in the first class of Practical Nursing, in June 1958. On October 15, 1960 she married Donald, whom she met at the Cataract Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corp.  Betty worked for Niagara Memorial Hospital for 4 yrs, followed by Curtiss Chicken Farm, and was manager of Honeybears Bakery & Pizza in Ransomville, where she retired.  Betty was a member of the Ransomville Rural Retirees, Ransomville Thursday Luncheon Group, Past President of the LaSalle Auxillary Sportsman Club, Past President and Vice President of the Ransomville Lions Club, and board member of the Canine Helpers for the Handicapped.  Betty was an avid sports fan of the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills and NASCAR, with her favorite driver being Joey Logano.
 
Surviving is 5 sons Robert (Dawn), Richard (Lynne), Ronald (Tina), Russ (Michelle) and Randall (Nancy); her grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel (Kelsey), Ryan (Liz), Justin (Megan), Teagan, Raechelle (John), Tiffany, Rachel, Michael; step grandchildren Emily and Shawn and 3 great grandchildren; sister Linda Moxham; and brother Fred (Elaine) Blank.

Betty J. Hunt-Beckwith (Nee Kelly) age 96, of Lewiston entered into rest on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Our Lady of Peace NCR in Lewiston, NY. Betty was born April 23, 1924 in Austin, PA. She is the eldest child of the late Earl and the late Evelyn (Cooney) Kelly. Betty came to Niagara Falls in 1926 and attended local schools She served in the Army Air Corps. (WAC) during World War II as a medical Corpsman from 1944 till her discharge in 1945. In 1970 she graduated from Trott Adult LPN program and worked at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and the offices of Dr. Rooker, Arthurs and Zohur. IN 1972 Betty joined the American Legion as a member and delegate for the Portage Post 1465 where she became the first woman to serve as Niagara Co. Commander in 1981. She moved to Florida in 1984 and was employed by Humana Hospital as an LPN and also became the first woman Commander of America Legion Post 120 Holly Hill and Post 267 Ormond Beach. Betty Returned to Niagara Falls in 1999 and became the first woman Commander of the American Legion LaSalle Post 1142 in 2001. She served as a senior companion for HANCI for over 10 years and as a proud WWII veteran she was a member of the WNY Honor Flight to Washington D.C in 2010. She is survived by her children, Alfred M. (Paula) Hunt Jr. , Robert L. Hunt , Philip E. (Rose) Hunt , Sandra (Late Ronald) Granieri; her sister, Colleen (Dennis) Dey; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Betty Jean Nellist, of Brockport NY, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2021 at the age of 89 after a brief illness.
Betty was born to the late Henry and Freda (Luke) Rachow on June 4, 1932 in Rochester NY. After graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School, she completed secretarial training and worked at Kodak. In 1955, Betty married Robert Nellist and they settled in the village of Barker, where they raised two children. In addition to being an outstanding homemaker, she worked part-time at Faith United Methodist Church and the post office.
A move to Brockport in 1986 provided Bob and Betty with the opportunity to be near family in their retirement years. Betty was very creative and enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, crocheting, knitting and quilting. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she planned year-round for the big day. She always made it special for the entire family with delicious food and lots of presents under the tree. She was devoted to her family, and her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Betty was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Robert. She is survived by her daughter Diane (Keith) Woodbridge, son Randy (Carla) Nellist, grandchildren Andrew (Kristy) Woodbridge, Joshua (Anat) Nellist, Kimberly (Derek) Ortiz, Emily (Caleb) Mabry, Adam Nellist, 6 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Richard (late Shirley) Nellist, a niece and nephew.

Betty was born March 12, 1942 in Clarion, PA, the daughter of the late John and Judy (Smith) Aaron. She was a graduate of LaSalle High School and received her cosmetology license. Betty married Paul H. Manchester on September 8, 1962 and they resided in Ransomville since 1972. Betty worked as a Hair Stylist from her home for many years. As a teenager she had worked at Dairy Queen and through the years had worked at Beutel Greenhouses, Henrich Chevrolet, and Garden Gate Florist in Wilson.
 
She was was a member of North Ridge United Methodist Church. She liked camping with her family and fishing on the Niagara River with her father and mother.
 
Her husband, Paul, predeceased her on November 6, 2015. She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Donna) Manchester of Gasport and Brian (Dorene) Manchester of Ransomville; five granddaughters, Brittany, Rachelle (Scott) Solotes, Tiffany, Taylor, and Trisha; and a brother, John Aaron of Niagara Falls, NY.

Carol married the love of her life, Dave Faccini on August 23, 1969. They started their journey together with Carol being a stay-at-home mom, where she loved doing things with her children. She was a Girl Scout Leader, helped with the Cub and Boy Scouts, and served as the kids' chauffeur for all of their events. She had a passion for her Polish Heritage and passed this on to her family. She also excelled at many crafts and loved teaching others. As the kids grew older Carol went to work at several local retailers. She then became the assistant to the Town Clerk in the Town of Niagara Town Hall. She later became the clerk in the Town Police Department until retiring in the spring of 2002. Carol B. McIntosh of Lockport, NY passed away peacefully on Friday December 7, 2018 in Niagara Hospice House. Born December 17, 1933 in Lockport, she was the daughter of George and Helen Coulter Bewley. Carol graduated from Lockport Senior High School and Cornell University. In 1956, she married Douglas McIntosh, a surveyor and the entrepreneurial founder of MAC’s Antique Auto Parts founded in 1978. Carol worked as a Home Economics teacher at Lockport High School and later worked with her husband at MAC’s Antique Auto Parts. In 1989, she passed the Florida Condo Manager Exam and became the assistant manager of Errol By the Sea Condominium in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Years after Doug’s passing in 1999, she met Edgar Wright, who became her longtime companion until he passed away in 2017.
 
Carol was accomplished at knitting, sewing, cooking and crafts. She also loved playing Bingo, shuffle board, joining in sing-alongs and ballroom dancing. She was a meticulous and gracious hostess and entertained friends and family often. She was active in her church and community and was a dedicated longtime member of both PEO and Lockport College Women’s Club. Her family remembers her as a kind, loving, giving and supportive mother, mother-in-law and grandmother who encouraged all of them to pursue their goals and happiness in life.
 
Predeceased by her husband, Douglas A. McIntosh and sister, Donna Enos, Carol is survived by her three sons Robert A. (Heidi), Randall A. (Carol) and Richard A. (Andrea Solar) McIntosh; six grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Sarah, Carlee, Eric, Margaret and Katherine. Also several nieces and nephews.

Carol Anne McIntyre, formerly of Howard Avenue, Lockport, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Eastern Niagara Hospital at the age of 82.  Carol was born on March 31, 1936 to Marvin and Marie Zeitz and spent her early life on the farm on Mapleton Road in Pendleton with her sisters, Janet (Edward) Beres (predeceased) and Beverley (Richard) Zellner. 
After graduating from Lockport High School, Carol worked as a dental assistant in the office of doctors Kelsey and DeLange.  As she started to raise her children, she helped out in the family store “Mac’s Market” on Bewley Parkway.  Later, she worked for 20 years at Harrison Radiator, where she made many long-time friends. 
Carol was an avid gardener, tending the memorial gardens along the Canal, competing in violet competitions, giving gardening advice to family and friends and maintaining beautiful beds of roses and day lilies around her own home.
Carol is survived by her children, Cheryl (Kenneth II) Smith of Pendleton, Rebecca (James) Boseck of Canandaigua, Keith (Lisa) McIntyre of Macedon and Stephen (Molly) McIntyre of Akron.  Grandma Mac was most proud of her grandchildren, Carly (Andrew) Short, Collin (Victoria) Smith, Benjamin and Matthew Boseck, Jomarie, Jake, Bryan and Brooke McIntyre.

Nellie Catherine LaMountain Hammond died peacefully  on July 11th, 2019  in Meriden, Ct.  Catherine was born in Proctor, Vt. in 1918. She was the daughter of the late George and Lillian (Geno) LaMountain. She resided in the Gasport and Lockport area for over 80 years before moving to Meriden, Ct in 2009. She was predeceased by her husband (Kenneth) of 54 years whom she married February 18th,1939, an infant daughter (Theresa) in 1954, and her two brothers George LaMountain (Phoenix, Az.) and Howard LaMountain  (Dallas, Texas).
Catherine is a 1936 graduate of Lockport Senior High School.  She was a school crossing guard, and managed the cafeteria at Charles Upson School from 1961 to 1977.  She was an active member of her community and cherished her time with family and friends. She loved helping people and was always available to work on a committee. She was a parishioner and Eucharist Minister of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and served in various PTO positions while her daughters attended St. Mary’s School. Later she served as an officer in the Altar and Rosary Society and the Ladies of Charity. She was an active participant of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Gasport Senior Citizens and the Dale Association.
Catherine was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her daughters Joanne Kay Hammond (Roger Gilder) of Rochester N.Y. and Patricia (Bruce) Bathrick of Cheshire, Ct, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Oratory at 11am on Thursday, July 18th. Charlene Seekins-Smith passed away August 30, 2022 in Eastern Niagara Hospital.  Born in Sanborn, NY on July 11, 1932 she was the daughter of Fillmore and Olive (Bodie) Marshall.  Charlene has spent her business career of over 68 years at the Bewley Building working for the Bewley family for over 68 years. Straight out of Bryant and Stratton Business College she began working for Charles Bewley in 1951, The real estate, insurance and development office provided endless opportunities for Charlene's boundless energy.  In 1984 after Charles Bewley's passing, Charlene purchased the Bewley Insurance agency renaming it Bewley -Seekins-Smith Insurance and continued running it while also managing the Bewley Building.
 
Charlene's energy and drive also saw her participating in numerous City committees, boards and projects as well as community service organizations. She is a past recipient of Business Person of the Year in 2003, Small Business of the Year as well as Citizen of the year awards in 1999. She was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. She also served as chairperson and founding member of Lockport Main Street Inc.
 
Being community minded Charlene was involved with the Light Up Lockport Committee, the Dale Association Development Committee, and Lockport Central Business District Parking Committee.  She was past president of the Greater Lockport Insurance Women’s Club, past president of the Lockport Independent Insurance Agents Association, the Health Association of Niagara County Board of Directors, chairperson of the Hamilton House Restoration Committee, served as second Vice President of the Zonta Club, served on the campaign for the United Way, and was vice chairman of the Apple Festival.
 
Charlene was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lockport where she served on the Board of Elders, Finance Committee, Chairperson of House & Grounds Committee, and on the Happy Times Board. She has also completed numerous terms on the Board of Presbyterian Senior Care of WNY serving as treasurer. She won the Merit Award from the Eastern Niagara Chamber of Commerce and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Lockport Business Association.
 
Charlene passed her insurance agency on to her son as well as the title of manager of the Bewley Building, she continued to have daily input into both businesses and maintained her enthusiastic support of downtown Lockport.
 
Charlene was predeceased by her husbands Allan Seekins on May 24, 1980 and Ronald Smith on March 8, 2015.  She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Edward M. Dzioba) Seekins; step-sons Thomas Lee Smith, Martin (Kathryn) Smith, and the late James (Mary) Smith; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and dear friend Eileen Smith.  Charlene was also predeceased by her siblings Franklin (Wilma) Marshall, Mary (late Bob) Corliss Stahl, and Phyllis Ebling.

Charles M. "Butch" Buttery, age 61 of Lockport NY, died unexpectedly on Friday March 16, 2018 in the Eastern Niagara Hospital Lockport.
 
Charlie was born July 11, 1956 in Norfolk, VA, the son of Robert M. and the late Joyce (Westley) Buttery. He was a 1974 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School and served briefly in the U.S. Marine Corps from where he was honorably discharged in October of 1975. Charlie married Mary J. Saylor on June 19, 1978 and they have resided in Lockport the past 19 years. He was a Service Manager, employed by Delphi-Harrison Thermal Systems in Lockport, retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service.
 
Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He enjoyed all sports and in 1983 he received an award from the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association of America. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
 
He is survived by his wife, Mary, his father and step mother, Robert M. and Leronna Buttery; two sons, Charlie Buttery (Shannon Layman) and Jimmy (Amber) Buttery both of Lockport; his grandchildren, Ayden, Taylor, and Charles Buttery, Jr., and Ryan Sandor; two sisters, Marlene "Molly" Lewis and Amanda Buttery (Michael Lawson); his father in law, Irven "Nick" Saylor; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Levi Buttery.

Local Racing Legend Charles J. "Chuck" Boos, age 88 of Lewiston, died Saturday May 1, 2021 at the North Gate Health Care Center in Wheatfield after a short Illness. Chuck was born July 31, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Hans and Charlotte "Lottie" (Maliszewski) Boos. A lifelong resident of Lewiston, he attended the one room school, Hickory College, and graduated from the Lewiston Red Brick High School in 1950. After graduation, Chuck began working for the Carborundum Co.in Niagara Falls as a Ceramic Engineer. He retired in 1992 after 42 years of service. A Navy Veteran of the Korean War, he served from 1954 to his honorable discharge in 1956 and was stationed aboard the Transport Ship USS Butner.A talented baseball player, he was scouted by and tried out for both the NY Yankees and NY Giants. A racing legend at local tracks, Chuck was inducted into the Four Score Hall of Fame. He won his first feature race at Speedway Park in 1964. In 1967 he won the Track Championship at Lancaster and Ransomville Speedways and the 1968, 1969, and 1970 Championship at Cayuga Speedway all with his famous #9 car. He married Stephanie (Jakubowski) Boos on July 24, 1954. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Susan Boos (Mark Kruszka) and Timothy R. 1900 Obituary of Charles Robert Perry
Charles Robert Perry of Middleport, faithfully and peacefully concluded his earthly life and stepped into eternity on his 94th birthday, November 1, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. Charles was of man of quiet faith and service to God, his family, his country and his community.He was born on November 1, 1926, the oldest son of Robert and Mildred (Buehring) Perry and lived in Middleport his entire life. After graduating from Royalton-Hartland Central School in 1945, he served in the US Army for 18 months in Germany. After returning home he attended Bryant and Stratton Business School and began a career at Harrison Radiator as a statistician where he worked for 37 years, retiring in 1987. In 1950 he married Marjorie Manley and they were blessed to celebrate their 70th anniversary on May 27, 2020. He built their home in Middleport in 1956 and resided there his whole life. He was an active member of County Line United Methodist Church and Cataract Lodge #295 F&AM where he helped with fish fries for many years. He is survived by his wife, Marge, his daughters, Susan and Jane, six grandchildren: Ben (Susan) Atwater, Stephen (Amanda) Phillips, Adam (Hannah) Atwater, Denise Phillips, Alicia (Bob) White, Seth (Renee) Atwater and ten great-grandchildren: Marissa, Camden, Adeline, Lydia, Bailie, Elise, Nolan, Lincoln, Grant and Ashlyn. Also survived by his brother, Donald Perry and many nieces, nephews and cousins who have provided love and support over the years. He was pre-deceased by sons-in-law, Richard Atwater and Timothy Phillips, also his sister, Phyllis. There will be calling hours on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Bates, Wallace Funeral Home at 38 State Street in Middleport with a Masonic service at 7:45 that evening. Masks and social distancing is required and will be enforced. A service for family members only will be held at County Line United Methodist Church at 11:00 on Thursday.The family is sincerely grateful for Hospice of Niagara, Liz, Allie and Michaella, their aids who provided loving and professional care making it possible for Charles to remain at home.Memorials may be made to County Line Country Church, PO Box 202, Barker, NY 14012, to Hospice of Niagara or a charity of one’s choice.
