Miss Phyllis Marie Mielke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer H. Mielke, Sanborn, became the bride of the son of Mr. and,Mrs. Erwin Stoelting, Mtd. Rt. No. 25, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Pekin, Aug Winston Moeller was organist and Mrs. Gilbert Walck was soloist. The bride wore a gown of im- imported rosepoint lace over satin with an illusion beaded neckline enhanced with a mandarin collar, and a fully gathered skirt which fell into a cathedral-length train. A queen's beaded crown held a veil of imported double illusion, and she carried a colonial bouquet. of white roses, carnations and pompoms. Miss Nancy Stoelting, sister of ithe bridegroom, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Donald Mielke was matron of honor.. They wore gowns of shrimp ahd tur- quoise crystaiette. The bridal attendants, Miss Dolores Jagow, Mjss June Walck and Mrs. Arn-. oTd Walck were in green, orchid and yellow crystalette. The at- tendants carried, crescent bouquet of gladioli centered with rosebuds with matching ribbons. Diane Ellman was flower girl. Wayne Stoelting was best man for his brother, and ushers were Donald Mielke, brother of the bride, Duane Stoelting, Dennis DeVantier and Calvin Mellenthtine. Robert Jagow,was ring bearer. 19020 | Niagara Gazette - 9/7/1933 John Fabel, 52 years old, 130 Seventy-fourth. street, died yesterday afternoon in Memorial hospital from burns he suffered Tuesday night while at work at the plant of the Mathieson Alkali Works, Inc., Buffalo avenue, where he was employed as a hydrat- Ing operator. Hospital attaches said that the man's entire body was burn- ed. Officials of the Mathieson Alkali Works, Inc., said that an investigation of the fatality is being conducted at the plant. They said- no details in connection with the burning would be given out until the investigation is completed later, today. They said there had been no,explosion. Mr. Fabel was born in Pennsylvania. He had lived in Niagara Falls for the past 28 years.- He was a member of Bell Rose Lodge, I. O. O. F., and the Modern Woodmen of America. "The bride was gowned in white Canton crepe trimmed with pearls and radium lace, her veil was caught with orange..blossoms and sho carried a shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. The maid, of honor. Flora Schoenherr, sister of the bride wore peach- canton crepe and carried a bouquet of Ophelia roses, Miss Edna Kemke of Gratwick, N. Y.. was bridesmaid. The flower girls, Verna Schroeder and Violet Jordan nieces of the bride wore white Brussels net over white satin and trimmed with for-get-me-nots and carried baskets of sweetheart roses. Leo Sehroeder acted as his brother's best man, and the ushers were Charles Schiemann . and Arthur Sehroeder. The bride's mother wore 'black silk Crepe trimmed with jet beads. The groom's gift to the bride war. a pin set with diamonds' and pearls. After the ceremony, a dinner wa's served at the home of the bride's parents to 100 guests. 19048 | Niagara Gazette - 9/9/1930 The marriage of Mias Genevieve A. Wahl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam E. Wahl of La Salle avenue, to Robert H. Pitts, son of Mr. and Mrs. James T. Pitts of Knoxville, Term., was solemnized at 5:30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran church. Rev. Ziemer performed the ceremony. The church waa decorated with fall flowers and the altar was banked with ferns and palms. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a gown of white satin made on Princess lines. Her long tulle veil was, caught to a close fitting cap of tulle with clusters of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of roses, lilies of the valley and babies' breath. Miss Gertrude L. Wahl was the bride's only attendant and she was gowned in flowered chiffon and wore a pink horsehair hat and pink mitts. She carried an arm bouquet, of pink rosea. Arthur T. Briggs was the best roan, and the ushers were Arthur and Edgar Schultz. The bride's mother was gowned in black chiffon. Before the ceremony, Sylvester Hannlgan sang "O Promise Me." Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the. bride's parents. 19049 | Niagara Gazette - 9/9/1936 At a quiet ceremony performed late Saturday afternoon by the Rev Gustav Ziemer in St. Paul's Lutheran church, Miss ann Kudlek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Kudlek, of Barackville, W. Va., became the bride of Paul Bartz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bartz, of Michigan avenue. Wearing a charming white velvet gown made on princess lines, with a Peter Pan collar, sleeves which came to a point over the wrists and a row of tiny buttons down the back of the waist, the bride entered the chinch on tiie arm of Herman Roth. Her veil, which was net-edged with lace was fastened by a tiara of the lace and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, lilies-of-the-valley and baby's breath. Miss Edna Heuer, the bride's only attendant, wore sapphire blue velvet with matching turban and carried a bouquet of Talisman roses and lilies- of-the-valley. Her dress was made on lines imilar to the attractive gown of the bride. Pretty little Miss Doreen Marilyn Roth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Her- man Roth, was flower girl. She wore a dainty pink georgette dress, while Calvin Leroy Frye, wearing a white gabardine suit, was ring bearer. Nicholas Kudick, brother of the bride, was best man. Musical selections during the cere- mony were played on the organ by Miss ruth Greenwald. The groom's mother wore a becom- ing black crepe gown trimmed with lace. a shoulder corsage decorated her costume. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the groom, with 40 guests in attendance. The bride's table, with covers laid for 12, was centered with a wedding cake and decorated in pink, green and yellow. After a trip to Philadelphia and to West Virginia, where they will visit the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Barts will reside at 1822 Michigan avenue. For a going-away costume the bride chose a Burgundy moire dress with a navy blue coat and navy accessories. 19050 | Niagara Gazette - 9/9/1944 Veteran Retired Teacher Passes Miss Catherine L. Shomers, of 727 Spruce avenue, who spent 43 years as a teacher in Niagara Falls schools before retiring tn 1936. died in Mount S t Mary's hospital this morning at the age of 70. A native and lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, Miss Shomers was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Shomers, pioneer residents. Her father was a veteran of the Civil War who died in 1913. She was one of the first kindergarten teachers to serve in local schools when that phase of education was organized here. She is survived by a brother, John P Shomers, of this city. The funeral will be held from the Redanz funeral home at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, with services at St. Mary's church at 9 a.m. Inter- ment will be made in Gate of Hea- ven cemetery. | SHOMERS, Catharina (I72039)
