19756 | North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 10/6/1946 Ten YEARS AGO The marriage of Miss Genevieve M. Rech, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Rech of 459 Niagara street to Glenwood J. Demmin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Demmin of Kohler street, was solemnized yesterday afternoon at 4.30 o'clock in the Grace Methodist Episcopal church, the Rev. Arthur C. Rehme performing the ceremony. Miss Virginia Warner acted as bridesmaid and Mr. Charles Rech, brother of the bride, was best man. Following the ceremony a reception for sixty guests was given at the home of the bride's parents, which was beautifully decorated throughout with colorful autumn flowers. The buffet table which was centered with a large wedding cake had tall white tapers at either end. Mr. and Mrs. Demmin left last night for a trip to Washington, D. 19757 | North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 10/6/1960 Edward C. Krueger, 91, a prominent resident of the Town of Wheatfield, died today in Ransomville General Hospital. Mr. Krueger, a lifelong resident of the town, served Wheatfield as highway commissioner, town clerk, election inspector a nd school attendance officer. He retired at the age of 75 and had made his home since then with his son, Henry, who lives on the Krueger Road farm established by his father. Mr. Krueger was the oldest member of St. John's Lutheran Church and helped to build the original house of worship. He served the church as a trustee, elder, treasurer and as a member of the parish education committee. He was the husband of the late Mary Sehuler and is survived by 56 direct descendants, including 9 children, 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Andrees was stricken with an infection in one of his teeth while hunting pheasants on Thursday of last week. Saturday the ailment developed Into blood poisoning. He was removed to the hospital and an operation performed in an attempt to save his life. Frequent blood transfusions were resorted to. During bis life he held a number of prominent offices, among them being canal collector for this port, supervisor of Erie County, collector of taxes, also assessor for several terms, which position he held at the time of his death.
