She was born in Germany and had resided in North Tonawanda for the past 42 years. She was a member of Victory Nest, No. 1917. Lady Owls: Pine Camp. No. 8199, Royal Neighbors; Empress Rebekah lodge. No. 116; Companion Foresters of America. Swift Water Council. Order of pocohontas and the North Presbyterian church Surviving are four daughters. Mrs. Roy Carroll and Miss Edres Zaggel. 20805 | North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 5/16/1959 A youth, one month from graduation at North Tonawanda High School, died in DeGraff Memorial Hospital today shortly a f t e r being injured in an automobile accident on N i a g a r a Falls Blvd. Three teen-age passengers in the car were injured. Fatally in- jured was Gerald f. Zastrow, 17, of 44 Fillner Ave., identified as the driver. DeGraff Memorial Hospi- tal said he suffered neck and chest injuries. Injured and listed in fair condition were: Mary Ellen Feck, 16. of 356 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda; and Jean Smith, 18, of Palm- er Rd., Ransomville, both of whom suffered possible fractured legs, and Michael Jensen, 17, of 580 S. Wall St., North Tonawanda, who suffered numerous contusions of the face and legs. The two couples had attended the North Tonawanda High School Senior Prom last night. The Niagara County Sheriff's Department said the accident occurred about 4:05 a.m. on the! boulevard about one-half mile east of Ward Rd. The youth died at 8 a.m. Deputies reported the east-bound car went off the left side of the highway and struck a utility pole. They said the three surviving pas- sengers were asleep at the time and unable to tell what happened. The accident was investigated by Deputies Kenneth Runge and Donald Stern. Young Zastrow was a native of North Tonawanda. He was a mem- ber of St. Christopher's Church, Falls Blvd., the 4-H Club of Lock- port and the Saddle Dusters of Lockport. Mrs. Ada Prohaska was organist for the ceremony and Richard Mor- ris sand "Because" and "The Lord's Prayer." The Rev. Theodore Rehkopf per- formed the double-ring ceremony in a candlelight ceremony at 7 p.m. Lilies, snapdragons and white pom- poms formed a background for the service. The bride wore a gown of Chan- tilly lace and tulle fashioned with a neckline of illusion embroidered with sequins and tiny pearls. The long lace sleeves were pointed over the hands and the very full waltz-length skirt was inserted with panels of lace and tulle. Her veil of silk illusion was caught to a lace bando encrusted with sequins and pearls. She carried white roses and carnations in a cascade bouquet. Miss Joyce Freck, maid of honor, wore a gown of shaded pink nylon net with a pleated bodice, full skirt and matching stole. She wore a lower tiara in her hair and car- ried a cascade bouquet of yellow roses and carnations. Weaaring a similar costume of powder blue wass the bridesmaid, Miss Joanne Tremble. She wore a tiara in her hair and her cascade bouquet was of pink roses and carnations. Robert Tremble attended the bridegroom as best man and Fran- cis Wittkopp and Sherwood Trem- ble were ushers. A powder blue lace gown was chosen by the bride's mother who complimented her costume with white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses.. The bridegroom's mother wore an iridescent dress of orchid silk, white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. Grandmothers of the bride and bridegoom, Mrs. Albert Schultz and mrs. Anna Garbus wore cor- sages with their costumes. A reception was given in the home of the bride's parents. Deco- rations followed a bridal theme of white and the table was centered with a wedding cake. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bein and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Havarka and family, Mrs. John Rompel and family, Mrs. Anna Garbus, all of Detroit. He was a prominent Republican and an active church worker. The young man had done a hard day's work Saturday, and went home about 4 o'clock ill. He died yesterday morning about 11 o'clock. A post mortem examination by Drs. Martin and Koenig disclosed that the stomach had been ruptured. The deceased is survived by a wife, three children, four brothers and five sisters. He had gone to the office for treatment when he suffered a stroke and died immediately. At the Erie County Morgue, where the body was taken before being brought to the Pawenski Mortuary at 679 Oliver St., the announcement was made this morning that the victim died of natural causes. Mr. Broniszewski was born in Poland and had lived in North Tonawanda for 35 years. He was employed by the Buffalo Bolt Company. He was a member of Local 319, UE., CIO., and of the OLC Church. He was a former member of Dom Polski and the Orioles.
