Chaplain Eugene Beutel of Fort George Meade, Baltimore, per- formed the ceremony, uniting in marriage the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. DeVantier, Lock- port Rd., Niagara Falls, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Beu- tel, Lockport Rd., Sanborn. Paul Mehls sang the "Lord's Prayer" and "O Lord We At Thine Altar Stand." Give in marriage by her fath- er, the bride wore a gown of Chan- tilly lace and satin trimmed with iridescent sequins, with an illusion neckline and lace collar. The bod- ice was fitted to a gathered skirt of lace with inserts of pleated tulle which fell into a cathedral-length train. Her headpiece, a pill box hat of lace and tulle trimmed with beading, was caught to a finter- tip scalloped illlusion veil. She car- ried white carnations and lilies-of- the-valey centered with a white orchid. Miss Elaine DeVantier, maid-of- honor for her sister, wore a rain- bow gown with a bodice of white lace and overskirts over a slip of tulle. She wore a bonnet effect of pleated lace with tulle and face veils and carried a heart-shaped bouquet of carnations. The bridesmaids, Miss Alice Retzlaff, Miss Carol Beutel, and Mrs. LaVern Haseley, were simi- larly attired and carried heart- shaped bouquets of carnations. Carolyn Mueller was the flower girl. James Morgan attended the bridegroom as best man, and ush- ers were Kenneth Wittkopp, Leon- ard Walck, and Philip Haseley. The mother of the bride wore a rose colored dress with white ac- cessories and a corsage of white carnations. The bridegroom's mother selected a blue dress with white accessories and also wore a corsage of white carnations. Wedding bells and flowers dec- orated the Bergholtz fire hall where a reception was given for friends and relatives. Traveling, the bride wore a blue suit with pink and white accesso- ries. 21124 | North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 6/30/1927 A pretty June wedding took place Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the North Ridge Lutheran church, when Alice Mae, daughter of Mrs. Mary Lievers, became the bride of Herman Belschner of Fredericka St., North Tonawanda. The Reverent John P. Barkow performed the cere- mony. Lohengrin's wedding march was played by a cousin of the bride, Mrs. Fred Sievert and Mrs. William Johannes sang "Oh Promise Me." The bride wore a white crepe de chine dress and a white tulle cap- shaped veil with orange blossoms and carried an arm bouquet of white carnations. Her sister, Ruth Sievert, maid of honor, wore a nile green georgette dress, silver sippers and hose and a corsage of tea roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Esther Sievert, cousin of the bride, wore a rose georgette dress, white slippers and hose and a corsage of pale pink roses. Both attendants wore rhine- stones bandeaus. The groom's attendant was Wil- liam Bental of Wilson. The ushers were Clarence Belschner of Wilton and Walter Smith of Lockport. The bride's gift to her attendants were vanity cases and the groom's gifts to his attendants were white gold cuff links. Fetzer was united in mariage with Frederick Zuch. Bacon became the, bride of Robert R. Giuseppetti, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Giuseppetti. The Rt. Rev. John A. Weismantel officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Miss Catherine Stalteri sang the nuptial high mass, "Ave Maria" and "Mother at Thy Feet is Kneeling" accompanied by Mrs. William Brick, organist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white nylon chantilly lace and nylon tulle with a boat neckline, ° fitted bodice and long sleeves that pointed over her bands. The skirt was very full and was made of alternating tiers of lace and tulk which fell into a chapel length train. Her finger tip veil fell from a tiara made of lace and seed pearls. Her bouquet was a cascade of white roses and white carnations with a white orchid in the center. Miss Patricia M. Jackson, the maii of honor, wore a yellow gown of lace and net fashioned with an apron effect and a strapless bodice with a lace jacket. 21148 | North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 6/6/1972 The Town of Tonawanda recorded its third swimming pool death in 16 days last night when 2-year-old David M. Buchanan, son of Mr and Mrs. Charles H. Buchanan, 3000 Eggert Road, drowned in the family swimming pool. Two brothers, Thomas V., 17. and Victor S. Lazzaro Jr., 15, of 19 Deumant Terrace, were electrocuted May 21 while cleaning a pool in their backyard. Police said the body of the Buchanan boy was discovered by his father about 7 p.m. floating face down in the circular above-ground pool The family had just finished eating dinner and the boy was left unattended for a few minutes. Mr. Buchanan pulled the boy from the 3-foot deep water and a neighbor. Norman H. Scheurich, called police. David was taken to Kenmore Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. A certificate of death due to accidental drowning has been issued. The boy apparently climbed to the top of the pool despite the presence of other children in the yard. David is survived by three sisters and four brothers ranging in age from four months to 13 years. Other survivors are his maternal grandparents.
