Wilbert C. Walker, 73, formerly
of Tonawanda. died yesterday aft-
er a short illness in Cleveland, O.
Born in 1884 in Tonawanda, Mr.
Walker moved to cleveland in
1904. He resided at 2172 West 59th
St. there. He attended Delaware
School in Tonawanda and was a
member of the Old Hydrant Hose
Company of North Tonawanda. In
Cleveland. Mr. Walker was a
member of the city council for
many years.
Mr. Walker had been briefly
confined to St. John's Hospital in
Cleveland.
Surviving are his wife, the for-
mer Lorena Batt; three children,
Harold, Kenneth and Mrs. Andrew
Lipka, all of cleveland, and four
grandchildren and thrree great
grandchildren. Surviving locally
are his brother, George H. Walk-
er, 254 Morgan St., Tonawanda,
and a sister, Mrs. Laura Hardy of
Tonawanda, living at Allison Nurs-
ing Home in Buffalo.
Burial will be from the Louis A.
Bodnar Funeral Home, Lorraine
Ave., Cleveland, Thursday.

Brick, died last night at the family
residence, 227 Schenck street.
She was born in Buffalo and had
resided in North Tonawanda for
the past 35 years. Besides her
husband she is survived by three
daughters, Miss Dolores Brick,
North Tonawanda, Mrs. Carl Heppel,
Kenmore, and Mrs. Henry
Balling, Tonawanda; six sons, William
A., Cyril J., Cornelius F..
Anthony W., Jr., George G., and
Robert C, all of North Tonawanda;
four grandchildren, one sister.
Miss Josephine Beriinghoff. Buffalo,
and two brothers, George and

The funeral will be held Monday
morning at 9 o'clock at the
residence and half an hour later
at the Ascension church. Rev.
J. F. Kelly will conduct the services
and interment will be at Mt.
Olivet.

Hope that their son, Pvt. Norman
M. Brock, reported missing
in France on July 22, might have
been taken prisoner was crushed
today when Mr. and Mrs. Brock
of 72 Long's avenue received a
War Department report that he
had been killed in action.
Pvt. Brock entered the service
in December, 1943. After training
at Camp Blanding, Fla., and at
Meade, Md., he went to England
in June, 1944 and soon afterwards
to France. In his last letter to
his family, Pvt. Brock said that
his command was moving so rapidly
that any mail which might
have been sent to him had failed
to reach him.
He attended Tonawanda high
school and was employed by the
Spaulding Fibre company on
Wheeler street before entering
he service.
Besides his parents Pvt Brock
is survived by three brothers,
Staff Sergeant Lionel Brock, in
the ground crew of the 9th AAF
in England; Warren and Donald
at home, and two sisters, Mrs.
Myrtle Brennon of Tonawanda and
Miss Alberta Brock at home.

A very pretty wedding was solemn
ised yesterday afternoon at three thirty
o'clock, when Miss Arlene B. Ullrich,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gum
Ullrich of 211 Wheeler street became
the bride of Maurice H. Mates of
Young street, Rev. Andrew Hils of
the Salem Evangelical Lutheran
church officiating. The wedding took
place at the home of the bride, in the
presence of eighteen guests. The
bride was lovely in a gown of white
georgette, her lace veil, which was
the one her mother wore at her wedding,
being caught with sprays of
orange blossoms, and arranged in
bandeau effect. Her shower bouquet
was of bride roses, lillies of the val
ley and baby breath. Miss Edna Ullrich,
who was her sister's bride's
maid, wore a gown of rose georgette
and carried a bouquet of pink tea
roses, Raymond Schiller of Darien
Center, cousin of the groom was Mr.
Mate's attendant.
A wedding supper followed the
ceremony, covers being laid for eighteen
at a large table centered with
a wedding cake. The house was at
traetively decorated throughout with
colored garden flowers.
The guests from out of town who
at tended the wedding were Mr. and
Mrs Ellis Mates, parents of the
groom, and Raymond Schiller, all of
Darien Center. Mr. and Mrs. Mates
have gone on a trip to Washington,
D C. and upon their return will be
at home in 196 Young street.

Mr. and Mrs. Schmeichel were
married Aug. 27, 1913, at the
home of the bride, the former
Sarah Woodrich.
Both have lived in North Tonawanda
during their entire married
life. Mr. Schmeichel retired
from Buffalo Pumps in December
1958. His hobby is making
lawn furniture.
The Schmeichels have two
sons, LaVerne and Norman, and
four grandchildren.
Besides the immediate family,
guests expected to be present for
the festivities are from Medina,
East Shelby, Buffalo, Niagara
Falls and the Twin Cities.

taffeta gown made with a scalloped,
square neckline on the fitted
bodice which was detailed
with lace. The full skirt fell to a

held her fingertip veil.
Miss Janice Scott of North Tonawanda
was maid of honor wearing
a street-length green taffeta
dress made with a jacket and
three-quarter sleeves and a bow
headpiece which held her circular
veil. The bridesmaids, t he
Misses Beverly Bostrom and Ellen
Elben of Indiana, Pa., and
the flower girl, Barbara Bostrom,
were identically attired in gold
color costumes.
Allen Ammerman was best man
for his brother. Scott Ammerman
and Roger Scott, the bridegroom's
nephews, were ushers,
and Kevin Scott, another nephew,
was ring bearer.
The bride's mother chose a
three - piece green and white wool
knit suit and a white turban hat
The bridegroom's mother favored
a two - piece blue crepe dress
and matching hat.
A wedding supper was given in
St. Paul's United Church of
Christ, Wendelville. Out of town
guests attended from Brighton,
Ont.; Findlay, Ohio; Indiana,
Pa., and Hilton, N.Y.
The couple traveled to the
Smokey Mountains and Florida
on a wedding trip.

funeral will be held from the Gorenflo
home oh Tuesday afternoon. One

Mrs. Alice Marshall Wilcox,
was killed, and her husband,
Frank Wilcox, was critically injured
in an automobile crash last
week when, according to police
reports, Ivan James Baxter, 64
Shepard avenue, Kenmore failed
to stop for a red light and smashed
into the Wilcox car on Delaware
avenue near the Kenmore
theatre.
Mrs. Wilcox died Wednesday at
Millard Fillmore hospital in Buffalo,
where her husband is confined.
Charges of failing to stop
lor a red light, criminal negligence,
and fleeing the scene of an
accident were lodged against Baxter
by the Kenmore police.
Many friends of the Wilcox family
in the Tonawandas will attend
funeral services for Mrs. Wilcox
at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow from the
Bury Funeral Home. 2798 Delaware
avenue, Kenmore. Burial
will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
The Wilcox family have lived in
Kenmore for 25 years. Frank
Wilcox is a well known building
contractor in the Niagara Frontier.
A daughter, Mrs. Bessie Wilson
of Woodhaven, L. I., survives.

Mrs. Alice Marshall Wilcox,

at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow from the

Kenmore for 25 years. Frank
Wilcox is a well known building

living, 17 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Mr. Zipp worked
for the Tonawanda Public Works Department, retiring in 1949.
Before that he was employed by the Treat Nantke Lumber
Company. Among the 150 attending were out of town guests
from Chicago and Buffalo. The guests of honor received many
anniversary gifts, and gift flowers decorated the Thiebolt home
for the celebration.

A lovely wedding was solemnized
Thursday afternoon. August 26th, at
four o'clock when the marriage of
Miss Eleanora A. Leber, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Leber of 5
Fremont street, t o Carl H. Belling was
solemnized at St. Martin's church on
the Niagara Falls boulevard. Rev.
Theodore Bemer officiating. Gladioli
and asters were effectively used in
decorating the church.
The bride, who was given in marriage
by her father, wore a gown of
ivory crepe back satin with Spanish
?? and pearl trimming and carried
a shower bouquet of bride roses and
cypsophelia. Miss Gertrude Belling,
s i s t e r of the groom, was maid of honor,
wearing orchid georgette over satin.
Her arm bouquet was of roses,
asters, sweet peas and gypsophetis.
The bridesmaids were the Misses Elsie
and Lucinda Leber, sisters of the
bride, and Miss Ella Belling. They
wore gowns of peach, Nile green and
yellow georgette over satin with bou-
quets similar to Miss Belling's. All
the attendants wore gold metal head
bands. Joseph Leber, brother of the
bride was best man, and the ushers
were Carl Leber, Alvin Wurl and John
Wilson. The Logengrin wedding march
was played by Miss Clara Schrosen
of Buffalo and she sang "Hold Thou
My Hand."
Followingn the ceremony a wedding
supper was served at the home of the
bride's parents, which was beautifully
decorated with gladioli, asters and
snapdragons in rainbow colors. Cov-

riage by her brother, Herbert Dohring
wore a gown of ivory satin and Chan-
tilly lace and a tulle veil fastened
with orange blossoms. She carried a
shower bouquet of bride roses, snap-
dragons and gypsophelia. Miss Do-
othy Allen, sister of the groom, was
maid of honor, wearing orchid geor-
gette. The Misses mary and Esther
Dohring and Miss Marion Dale of Gas-
port were the bridesmaids, wearing
gowns of pink, yellow and green geor-
gette. Each attendant wore a black
hat and carried a bouquet of butter-
fly roses, snapdragons and gypsophe-
ila. The flower girls were Genet and
Alice Wendt of Gasport. William Doh-
ring was best man and the ushers
were Asa Hewitt and Milton Schultz of

effect over the hip line, from
which the skirt fell into a long
graceful train. Her Illusion veil,
finger tip length, fen from aheadpiece
of white ostrich tips. She
carried a shower bouquet of bridal

roses, larkspur, gladioli and
gypsophila, through which were
scattered blue delphiniums. The
bride wore pearls, the gift of the
groom. ,
Miss Natalie Camann, sitter of
the groom, was maid of honor. She
was gowned in a patterned faille
of heather shade, made with a
gathered bodice, three-quarter
length sleeves, sweetheart neckline
and a long full skirt. She
wore a pink gladioli blossom in
her hair, and carried an arm bouquet
of bine delphinium and
pink gladioli tied with heather
Miss Anita Camann and Miss
Doris Camann, two other sisters of
the groom, were bridesmaids.
They were gowned slike in patterned
faille of Sky blue made
similar to the maid of honors. Each
wore a pink gladioli in her heir,
sad carried an arm bouquet of
blue delphinium and pink gladioli
tied with blue ribbon.
The groom was attended by his
brother ' Mr. George Camann as

ZIPP - Martin (Speedy) F.
Zipp, 64, of North Tonawanda,
unexpectedly Saturday (Aug.
25, 1973). Mr. Zipp was a
lifelong resident of the
Tonawandas. A former
employe of the Tonawanda
Roofing Company, he was well
known as an accomplished
roofer.
Mr. Zipp is survived by four
brothers, Paul Zipp and
Anthony Zipp,' both of
Tonawanda, Fred Zipp and
John Zipp, both of North
Tonawanda, and two sisters,
Mrs. William (Anna) Thiebolt
and Mrs. Marmon (Katherine)
Towers, both of Tonawanda;
also surviving are many nieces
and nephews.
The family will be present
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at
the Hamp Funeral Home Inc.,
Adam and Seymour Sts.,
Tonawanda, where a memorial
service will be^held at 8:30
p.m. Monday, the Rev. David
Griffin officiating. Private
interment will be held at the
convenience of the family.

BROWNING - Charles O.
Browning of 426 East Grove
Lane, Melbourne, Fla , Sunday
(Aug. 26, 1973) at his home.
Mr. Browning, 78, was born in
Tonawanda. He retired to
Florida in 1957.
He is survived by his wife,
Anna M. (nee Keller) Browning
of Melbourne! two sons,
Charles L. of Melbourne and
James F. of New York City,
and one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd
(Janet) Long of Tonawanda.
He is also survived by five
grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren,
and many
nieces and nephews.
Mr. Browning was a member
of Our Lady of Lourdes
Church, American Legion Post
81, and Barrack No. 500 of
Melbourne, He was a 50-year
member of the Delaware Hose
Company and Eldredge
Bicycle Club of Tonawanda.
He was a World War I veteran
and a lifetime member of the
American Federation of Musicians.
Services will be held at Our
Lady of Lourdes Church at 10
a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29.
Brownlie Funeral Home is in
charge of the services.

ing at her home after a. lingering illness.
She was 57 years old. Besides
her husband, Martin A. Wollenberg,
she is survived by a son, Arnold, two
daughters, Charlotte and Amanda, one
brother, Joseph Frech and five sisters,
Mrs. Mary Edmonds, Mrs. Louise Hepp,
Mrs. Fred Ernstein, Mrs. Charles Fahr-
man and Mrs. Norman H. Zimmerman,
