He attended Delaware School in Tonawanda and was a member of the Old Hydrant Hose Company of North Tonawanda. In Cleveland. Mr. Walker was a member of the city council for many years. Mr. Walker had been briefly confined to St. John's Hospital in Cleveland. Surviving are his wife, the for- mer Lorena Batt; three children, Harold, Kenneth and Mrs. Andrew Lipka, all of cleveland, and four grandchildren and thrree great grandchildren. Surviving locally are his brother, George H. Walk- er, 254 Morgan St., Tonawanda, and a sister, Mrs. Laura Hardy of Tonawanda, living at Allison Nurs- ing Home in Buffalo. 21461 | North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 8/22/1944 Hope that their son, Pvt. Norman M. Brock, reported missing in France on July 22, might have been taken prisoner was crushed today when Mr. and Mrs. Brock of 72 Long's avenue received a War Department report that he had been killed in action. Pvt. Brock entered the service in December, 1943. After training at Camp Blanding, Fla., and at Meade, Md., he went to England in June, 1944 and soon afterwards to France. In his last letter to his family, Pvt. Brock said that his command was moving so rapidly that any mail which might have been sent to him had failed to reach him. He attended Tonawanda high school and was employed by the Spaulding Fibre company on Wheeler street before entering he service. Besides his parents Pvt Brock is survived by three brothers, Staff Sergeant Lionel Brock, in the ground crew of the 9th AAF in England; Warren and Donald at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Brennon of Tonawanda and Miss Alberta Brock at home. | BROCK, Norman M (I174006)

Ullrich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gum Ullrich of 211 Wheeler street became the bride of Maurice H. Mates of Young street, Rev. Andrew Hils of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran church officiating. The wedding took place at the home of the bride, in the presence of eighteen guests. The bride was lovely in a gown of white georgette, her lace veil, which was the one her mother wore at her wedding, being caught with sprays of orange blossoms, and arranged in bandeau effect. Her shower bouquet was of bride roses, lillies of the val ley and baby breath. Miss Edna Ullrich, who was her sister's bride's maid, wore a gown of rose georgette and carried a bouquet of pink tea roses, Raymond Schiller of Darien Center, cousin of the groom was Mr. Mate's attendant. A wedding supper followed the ceremony, covers being laid for eighteen at a large table centered with a wedding cake. The house was at traetively decorated throughout with colored garden flowers. The guests from out of town who at tended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs Ellis Mates, parents of the groom, and Raymond Schiller, all of Darien Center. The bride wore a floor - length taffeta gown made with a scalloped, square neckline on the fitted bodice which was detailed with lace. The full skirt fell to a c a t h e d r a l train. A crown trimmed in pearls and sequins held her fingertip veil. Miss Janice Scott of North Tonawanda was maid of honor wearing a street-length green taffeta dress made with a jacket and three-quarter sleeves and a bow headpiece which held her circular veil. The bridesmaids, t he Misses Beverly Bostrom and Ellen Elben of Indiana, Pa., and the flower girl, Barbara Bostrom, were identically attired in gold color costumes. Mrs. Wilcox died Wednesday at Millard Fillmore hospital in Buffalo, where her husband is confined. Charges of failing to stop lor a red light, criminal negligence, and fleeing the scene of an accident were lodged against Baxter by the Kenmore police. Many friends of the Wilcox family in the Tonawandas will attend funeral services for Mrs. Wilcox at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow from the Bury Funeral Home. 2798 Delaware avenue, Kenmore. 21476 | North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 8/25/1952 MARRIED 50 YEARS AGO TODAY were Mr. and Mrs. Martin Zipp Sr. of 369 Young St. who were guests of honor yesterday at an open house in the home of their daughter, Mrs. William Thiebolt, 580 Broad St. Yellow tapers in golden candlesticks and red and yellow roses centered the buffet table which was adorned with a large anniversary cake. Mr. and Mrs. Zipp were married in Austria Aug. 25, 1902. They have seven children living, 17 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Mr. Zipp worked for the Tonawanda Public Works Department, retiring in 1949. Before that he was employed by the Treat Nantke Lumber Company. Among the 150 attending were out of town guests from Chicago and Buffalo. Mr. Gebhardt was a Veteran of World War II, a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, an employee of Bell Aerospace and a member of the Fell Management Club. He is survived by his wife Carol (nee Berner), two sons Craig (Linda) Gebhardt and Joel (Margaret) Gebhardt, both of North Tonawanda; two daughters. Miss Lynn Gebhardt, and Mrs. Peter (Paula) Heaton of Houston, Texas,; three grandchildren; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gebhardt Sr. of North Tonawanda and two sisters Mrs. La Vern (Marion) Boorom of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Clark (Vivian) Schoonover of North Tonawanda; brother of the late Jean Vigrass. Services will be held at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver ST. at Ward Rd., Monday at the convenience of the family. No prior visitation. The Rev. Carl Reichert will officiate.
