23301 Richard R. Forsey of Lockport, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Born on August 29, 1934, in Lockport, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Edith (Duxbury) Forsey. Dick graduated from Lockport High School and the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was employed for 30 years at Buffalo State College as Associate Director of Sponsored Programs, retiring in 1999.A member of Lockport Alliance Church, he served as Assistant Treasurer. He also was a member of the Lockport Optimist club – a founder of Lockport arts & crafts show, served as chairman of the Lockport Town Planning Board, President of the Cottages at Hidden Lake Homeowners Association, member of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and a former Scoutmaster of Troop 6 and Merit Badge counselor for Troop 23. He enjoyed being with family, traveling, reading and woodworking.Predeceased by his wife, Judith A. Forsey and his brother, Keith Forsey. 23302 Richard S. Massaro, 84, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2020. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Dominic and Rose (Falcone) Massaro.
Richard attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On August 23, 1960, he married his loving wife, Joyce C. (Archie) Massaro in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Massaro predeceased him on May 7, 1991.
In 1972, Mr. Massaro established Massaro Detroit Diesel Inc. in Tonawanda, NY, and served as President of the company until his retirement in 1995. Prior to this he was a Chevrolet and Oldsmobile dealer in Niagara Falls for the General Motors Corporation. He was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Peter’s Church in Lewiston, NY, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Niagara Falls Country Club for over 47 years. In his earlier years, he served in the United States National Guard, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Richard enjoyed landscaping and gardening, but above all he was a devoted family man who especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Massaro is survived by his children, Richard S. (Lynette) Massaro, Jr., Mark C. (Angela) Massaro, Elizabeth A. (Jim) Raia and Kristin M. (Michael) Swann; twelve grandchildren, Rachel Massaro, Richard S. Massaro, III, Ryan Massaro, Mark C. Massaro, Jr., Alexandra Massaro, Sydney Massaro, Jessica Raia, Caitlyn Raia, James Raia, Emily Raia, Michael Swann and Matthew Swann; three siblings, Ann (late Sam) Russo, Mary (late Benjamin) Sicoli, Angelo (Louise) Massaro, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank (late Dolores) Massaro, Dominic (Joy) Massaro and Angeline (late Arthur) Marinucci.

Born on March 12, 1940, in Buffalo, he was the son of the late James and Mary (nee Smith) Hefferon. Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1963 – 1965. He retired in 1999 from Delphi after 27 years. 23304 Richard Thomas passed away on September 18, 2016 in Elk Grove, CA. Born April 22, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Arthur E. and Lillian (Pratt) Thomas. Richard grew up and attended schools in Niagara Falls after which he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon his return, he married Joan Wroblewski on August 4, 1956 and in 1959 they moved to Northern California where Richard began a career in the electronics industry and they raised their family. Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan (Wroblewski) Thomas; four children; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara (Thomas) Hollinsworth of Bellingham, WA; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. 23305 Richard W. Catlin, age 79, of Brownsburg, Indiana, formerly of Tonawanda, died Wednesday, December 28, 2016. He had been an educator in the City of Tonawanda School System since the early 1960's, retiring as the Junior High School principal, and then was elected to the Tonawanda School Board. While working in Tonawanda, Mr. Catlin served on the Starpoint Central School Board for many years and also served as Board President for the Starpoint Schools.
Mr. Catlin received many awards during his 43 years as an educator, including the Tonawanda Education Association Distinguished Service Award, John F. Kopczynski Award. In its 16th year, the "NY Power Authority Arts/Science/Technology Fair" was renamed the "Richard W. Catlin AST Fair" in honor of its founder.
Richard was an active member of the St. Bartholomew Anglican Church in Tonawanda and sang in the choir until he moved to Indiana 5 years ago. While in Indiana, he attended Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church of Avon.
He was the husband of the late Susan (nee Kriedemann) Catlin, who died September 14, 2003; and son of the late Robert and Gertrude (nee Brown) Catlin of Waverly, New York. A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, educator, and friend to all, he is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (David) Dressler and Sarah (Peter) Bowman; grandchildren, Caitlin Dressler, Corinne Dressler and Michael Bowman; brother, Raymond (Vivienne) Catlin of Longmeadow, Massachusetts; sister, Dorothy (late Richard) Stapley of Geneseo, New York; and dearest lifelong friends, Rev. Richard and Barbara Molison. Richard is also survived by his niece, Kristin (Chris) Laure, and nephews, Keith (Judy) Stapley, Brian (Amber) Stapley and Alex (Nicole) Catlin.
The family will hold services on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Browsburg, Indiana. They will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Friday, January 6, at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 7, at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, 2368 Eggert Road, Tonawanda, where visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 AM. 23306 Richard W. Muscatello of Wheatfield, NY, retired United States Air Force Colonel and former Vice President of Kenmore Mercy Hospital, and active in numerous civic and community organizations, went to God after a long battle with cancer on November 11, 2021, Veterans Day.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Josephine (Ferlito); a son Richard (Marie) of Orchard Park, NY; two daughters, Gail Ann (Rick) Gill of Boston, NY; Patricia of the Town of Wheatfield, NY; his grandchildren, Matthew (Chelsea) and Meagan Gill, Anne Muscatello (Packy) and Nicholas Muscatello; one brother, Albert (Nancy) Muscatello, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Anna (Brusino) Muscatello and his brother, Julio (late Theresa) Muscatello.
Richard’s 33-year Military career consisted of a combination of active, reserve Air Force, and Air National Guard Duty, retiring with the rank of Colonel. He previously served as the Base Commander and Combat Support Commander of the Niagara Air Reserve Base. Richard was awarded two Meritorious Service Medals, an Air Force Commendation Medal, two Organization Excellence Awards, the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, for his dedicated service to our country.
A native of Niagara Falls, he graduated from Niagara Falls High School, attended classes at Niagara University, graduating Magna Cum Laude from New York University’s Empire State College at Buffalo.
Active in his community, Richard was appointed Chairman of the Town of Wheatfield Planning Board, a position he held for many years. He also served on the Niagara County Planning Board as their Vice Chairman; and the Niagara Falls Water Authority. Richard served two three-year terms as President of the Wheatfield Republican Club. He was very involved with the Niagara Military Affairs Counsel and active in getting legislation passed to protect our airfield and base from encroachment. He retired from his volunteer avocations in 2021.
Richard was a faithful parishioner and Special Minister of the Eucharist with the St. Vincent de Paul Parish Church.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 14 from 3 – 7 PM at MJ COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Monday at 10:15 AM, followed by Mr. Muscatello’s Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. 23307 RICHARD W. SIEGMANN, age 88 of Wheatfield, NY, was called peacefully to his heavenly home on April 22, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 2, 1932; son of the late William and Martha (Jagow) Siegmann. A lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wheatfield, he served in the United States Army and was a decorated Korean combat veteran. 23308 Richard W. “Possum” Urtel passed away October 17 (??), 2022 in Buffalo Veterans Hospital.  Born December 15, 1950 in Lockport he was the son of Harold and Bernice (Vicks) Urtel.  Richard served in the US Army from 1970 to 1972 during Vietnam.  He was a machinist working for various manufacturing companies in the Buffalo area.  Richard was an avid fisherman, hunter, drawing, and painting.  Richard also ran the “Possum Lodge Bar & Grill” which was always open to friends.
Richard is survived by his siblings Margaret (Wayne) Baker, Kenneth Urtel, and Steven (Mary) Urtel; uncle to Douglas (Laurie) Baker, Marc (Michelle) Baker, Vickie (DJ) Beiter, and Christine (Bill) Poole.

23309 Richard “Dick” Bowers of Lockport, NY, husband of Carol Mayer Bowers, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in Buffalo, NY. He was born in Lockport on June 27, 1940, son of the late Robert and Irene (Heary) Bowers.


Dick worked for Local 22 and was the owner of Hoot Mechanical. He was a member of the Wrights Corners Fire Co. exempts, Island Yacht Club and was very involved in the Boy Scouts Troop 40. Dick enjoyed boating and spending time at his home in Olcott.


Father of Jeffrey (Paula) Bowers, Alan (Kim) Bowers and the late Cheryl Lillybridge. Father-in-law of Damon Lillybridge. 23310 Richard “Rick” W. Few passed away March 17, 2025 in Buffalo General Medical Center.  Born February 12, 1948 in Lockport.  He was the son of C. Donald and Loraine (Wendel) Few.  Rick worked for Harrison Radiator Div of GM where he was a Cost Accountant.  Rick was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Lockport where he sang in the church choir for over 50 years.  He was also active with the Lock City Sound and played the French horn for over 50 years with Sanborn Fire Co Band.  Rick enjoyed traveling with numerous trips to Disney World, going on cruises, and will be remembered for his sense of humor.
Rick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda (Stevenson) Few; children Brian (Robin) Few and Cynthia L. Few; grandchildren Simon, John Easton, and Morgan Few; also several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brothers Gary (late Patricia) Few and D. William (late Patricia) Few.

He was a lifelong resident of Gasport, a 1967 Graduate of Royalton Hartland Central School.
He joined the Army National Guard in 1969 and served for 27 years, retiring with a Honorable Discharge as Sergeant First Class.
There are no prior calling hours. Richard's funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17th at 11:00am at the First English Lutheran Church 185 Locust St. Lockport, NY 14094. Interment will be held in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery.

Rick was an Industrial Electrician and was the family handyman. He was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan, loved traveling to Jamaica and joking around.

78, of North Tonawanda, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Anthony was born in Boston on October 31, 1944 to Mary Lois (Evans) Brick and Anthony W. Brick, Jr. Anthony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who lived his whole life in North Tonawanda surrounded by his large family. He was a proud father of eight who delighted in keeping up with the lives of his children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Tony was a mechanical genius who could make anything he envisioned out of wood or metal. He was a machinist and toolmaker by trade and his hobbies included restoring his 1954 MG, building furniture and cabinetry, and fixing and building anything for anyone who asked. Tony had a deep love of music-all genres-as well as an independent mind and a slightly twisted sense of humor that he passed down to all eight of his children. He was intellectually curious and had an enthusiasm for life with a daredevil streak that mellowed slightly with age. He was one of a kind and will be keenly missed by all who knew him. Anthony was predeceased by his parents and his son, Paul M. Brick. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Marion (Morris) Brick; his children Bernadette (Jason Brightman), Joseph (Claire Ettema), Anthony (Danielle Hart), Carmen, John (Cathleen Ryan), Elizabeth, and Theresa; and his grandchildren Kyra, Kaylin, Nathaniel, Sylvia, and Paige Ettema Williams. 23316 Ricky A. Heksch, 61, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on March 19, 2019, unexpectedly, at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of Constance (Accetta) Heksch and the late Berthold Heksch.
Ricky attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He began working as a medical orderly at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and put himself through nursing school at N.C.C.C, where he graduated in 1984. Ricky worked as a Registered Nurse at Buffalo General Hospital for over 27 years until his retirement due to medical reasons. He was very proud of being a nurse and enjoyed caring for his patients. Above all, he enjoyed telling jokes and making his friends and family laugh. Rest in peace Kitty.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings Anthony J. Heksch and Connie Juron, and was predeceased by two brothers, Bert and David E. (Phyllis) Heksch. Ricky also is survived by his nieces and nephew, Nicolette Juron, Christine Heksch and David G. Heksch.

She was born August 25, 1959 in Niagara Falls to the late William and Bonna-Vear Owens.
Rilla is survived by her daughters April (Jason) Lund, Lorena (Ian) Cap, grandchildren Ava Lund
and Aidan Cap. Sister to Renae Owens, Robyn (Stephan) Brese, Stephen (Susan) Owens, and
Aunt to Jason (Page), Josh and Emily Owens.
Her love for cooking, flowers, and her family was known to anyone who spent time with her.
Generous in spirit, she dedicated her life to the food-service industry and worked in many
restaurants locally.

Heaven received another Angel.  Rita, a deeply religious person, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, to be with The Lord.

Rita A. (Wiatr) Wylucki, 96, was born on February 10, 1926, the daughter of the late Walter and Sophie (Ciesielski) Wiatr, Sr.  She attended Holy Trinity Parochial School and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.  She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity R.C. Church where she married the late John Wylucki on July 4, 1953.  He predeceased her on September 6, 2007.

She worked as a bookkeeper for a public accountant for many years and then worked for Joseph A. Mariglio Plumbing, Inc. as a bookkeeper until her retirement.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, traveling, and going to the casino; but her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren.  Rita is survived by her sons; John Wylucki, Russell (Denise) Wylucki, and Wayne (Sandra) Wylucki; her grandchildren; John, Christopher, Melanie, Melissa, Matthew, David, Nicholas, and Jessica; 4 great-grandchildren; her sister, Elizabeth Jaroszewski; her brothers, Anthony Wiatr and John Wiatr and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sisters; Aline Pokoj and Adele Bateman and her brother, Walter Wiatr, Jr.

Rita (Yanicki) Lamb went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2020 in Newfane Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. She was born October 31, 1940 in Lockport, NY to the late Stanley and Jean (Buczkowski) Yanicki.
Rita was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Douglas (Doug) Lamb, in 2011. She is survived by her children, Sheila (Tom) Perry, Kevin (Annette) Lamb, and Suzanne Lamb; grandmother to Melissa, Joshua, Jacob, and Simon; and great-grandmother of 2. Rita was preceded in death by her sister Stephanie Bauer and survived by her sisters, Judy (late Robert) Call and Kathy Ortiz, and several nieces and nephews.
Rita worked many years as head cook at Garlock’s Restaurant and also worked as a nurse’s aide throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time with family, “people-watching,” and reading a book while enjoying a cup of coffee.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the caring nursing staff and aides at Newfane Rehabilitation & Health Care Center for their compassion and care during her time there.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

23321 Rita May (Rivers) Miller, longtime resident of North Tonawanda, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2017. She was 92. She was born in Niagara Falls on May 6, 1924, a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Ward) Rivers.
Rita attended St. Mary’s Cataract School until her family moved to Kentucky where she attended a one room schoolhouse. Rita and her family returned to Niagara Falls where she attended South Junior and Gaskill Junior High until she left school to help raise her siblings after her father died at an early age.
Rita worked for the Warder Paper Box Company in Niagara Falls. She married Walter Miller in 1943 and then she went to work as a riveter at Bell Aerospace during World War II. She also volunteered her time working as a member of the auxiliary at DeGraff Hospital for many years.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her great-niece Cathy (Melvin) Wagner, 5 nephews: Tom (late Lynn) Rivers, Robert (late Nancy) Mack, William (Pam) Rivers, and James (Michelle) Rivers and Ken Rivers of California. She is also survived by three nieces: Beverly (Rod) Kucik of North Carolina, Patricia Ventry of Georgia and her great-niece Lori (Richard Drabczyk) Paonessa and many great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers: Edward (late Elmira) Rivers and Stanley (late Jettie) Rivers and three sisters: Marie (late Phillip) Dury, Margaret (late Ellwood) Steele and Dorothy (late Benny) Wojton.

23322 Rita Merino Hager, Esq., of Youngstown, NY, passed away on July 11, 2018 at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Williamsville, NY.  Born on October 1, 1954 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of R. Robert Merino, Esq. and Helen (Leone) Merino. 
Rita resided for most of her life in Lewiston, Niagara Falls and Youngstown.  She attended local schools graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1972 and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Buffalo in 1975.  Rita later graduated from University of Buffalo Law School and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1979.  On November 22, 1980 she married John P. Hager.   Over the past 39 years Rita has practiced law in Western New York and also worked in Family Court. Rita enjoyed running, biking, skiing and traveling. 
In addition to her husband of 37 years, Rita is survived by her daughter Lauren (Steven) Svec, brother Hon. Robert (Gail) Merino, Esq.; sisters Mary Ann (Don) Ruff, Edith (Ralph) Penale, Janet (James) Tallerico as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by one sister Letitia (Henry) Nichols.

NORTH RIDGE Sep 6 - Funeral services for August Behnke who died on Saturday afternoon September 2, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leonard Borget, the Ridge road, Town of Lewiston, were held from the daughters home at 2:30 o'clock daylight time this afternoon, and at 3 o'clock from St Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge of which he was a member. Richard J. Flechsenhaar, 73, of Knowlesville, died at the Medina Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon after a long illness.

Mr. Flechsenhaar was born in Lockport Aug. 14, 1909, the son of Charles and Catherine (Carlin) Flechsenhaar. He had lived in Knowlesville since 1941 and had been employed by GTE Sylvania in Batavia for 20 years prior to his retirement in 1971.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Medina and the Senior Citizens.

Rob R. McKenzie, 66, of Ransomville, NY, went home to be with his Savior on Monday, January 17, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Rob was the first son of the late A. Donald and Virginia (Wendt) McKenzie; and the beloved husband to Carolyn (Kreps) McKenzie who he married on July 6, 1974.
Rob lived in Niagara Falls for the majority of his life and attended local schools. He proudly served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1978. Rob was employed at Tam Ceramics Inc. for 22 years as the Occupational and Safety Health Supervisor, and also spent 6 years working at Air Sep Corp prior to his retirement.
Rob was a faithful member of The Bridge Assembly of God, where he had served as a board member and as a Sunday school teacher for many years. One of his greatest joys was sharing his faith and love of Christ with other believers and non-believers a like.
In addition to his loving wife, Carolyn, Rob is survived by his children, Amber McKenzie and Nathan (Angela) McKenzie; and two beautiful grandchildren, Victoria and Rob Roy, that were the apples of his eyes. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary (Brian) Dumont and Craig (Diane) McKenzie, and a host of in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Bob was born on June 14th, 1935 in Narrowsburg, New York; to the late Raymond and Viola Swendsen.


Bob was a veteran of the National Guard, He worked for the Sullivan County Highway Department; Where Bob and Ann also owned and operated Lakeview Diner, He was very involved with the Lions Club, a former volunteer Fireman at Kauneonga Lake; more locally known for his workmanship at Ridgeview Mobile Homes, where he gained the title "Grandpa/Uncle Bob" by many families; from fixing bike chains to sharing a laugh, he touched the lives of so many with his simple acts of kindness.


Bob enjoyed the outdoors, from hunting to fishing; he enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with cars, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.


Bob was preceded in death by his son Michael Swendsen, and his siblings Harriet Swendsen, Clifford (Charlotte) Swendsen, Melvin Swendsen, Dorothy (James) Moreland, Mae (Charlie) Andes, and infant siblings Alfred, Clara and Vera Swendsen.


Bob is survived by his Wife, and Children, Nancy (Ed) Richards, Robert Swendsen Jr, Roxanne (Michael) Stevens, and Sheryl Silva. 23330 Robert "Robbie" L. Hunt, Major, USMC, passed away on January 29, 2021 at the age of 70. Born in Niagara Falls on November 27, 1950 to the late Alfred M. Hunt, Sr. and the late Betty J. (Kelly) Hunt-Beckwith.
Robert graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1968 where he excelled in swimming. After graduating he received as scholarship and attended Colombia University, NYC, enrolled in pre-med. While at Colombia, his thoughts changed and he decided to join the armed services, U.S Marine Corp. in 1971 and dedicated himself to that life, beginning with the rank of Sergeant, 1st Lt., Captain and was honorably discharged in 1989 with the rank of Major.
With a brilliant mind for computers, he was employed by Burroughs Computer for many years, traveling worldwide, finally retiring as the Vice President of Production.
Surviving are his two brothers, Alfred M. (Paulajo) Hunt, Jr. and Phillip E. (Rose Ann) Hunt; a half-sister, Sandra (late Ronald) Granieri; his former wife, Sara Sheldon; and many nieces and nephews.
Private services with Military Honors will be held at Niagara Falls Memorial Park.

23331 Robert 'Bob' H. Schuster, age 96, entered into rest peacefully on September 17, 2016 at his Wheatfield residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Luella (Hagen) Schuster.
Bob is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during WWII from 1942-1945, in the Guadalcanal, New Britain, and Peleliu campaigns. Bob met Marjorie 'Midge' E. Heumann, also a Marine, at Parris Island and were married June 23, 1945 on base. They returned to Western, NY and retired from the New York Telephone Company, after working 35 years. He was a Freemason, active member for 77 years with St. Johnsburg Fire Company, and their drum corps marching unit, Boy Scout Troop Master, and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Shawnee.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years; son, Robert M. Schuster; brother, Albert Schuster; and sister, Claribel Ackerman. Survivors include two children, Heidi L. Schuster and David R. (Kathleen) Schuster; two grandchildren, Katelyn R. Schuster and Shannon M. (Charles) Madden III; and two great-grandchildren, Avery Madden and Charles Madden IV.

23332 Robert A. "Bob" Band, Jr., age 57 of Youngstown NY, died Sunday November 26, 2017 in the Buffalo General Medical Center after a long illness.
Bob was born February 25, 1960 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Robert A. Sr. and Joyce (Raybon) Band Gaul. He was a 1978 graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School and had been employed as a Nursing Assistant by Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for 10 years.
He was a former member of the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1. He loved camping in Alleghany State Park and his pet dogs.
He is survived by two sons, Robert A. (Nikita) Band, III and Ryan Band both of Youngstown; a grandson, Robert A. Band, IV; a sister, Donna Fallesen of Youngstown, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Denise Canfield and Carol P. Band.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 9, at 12:00 Noon in HARDISON FUNERAL HOME N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. 23333 Robert A. MacFarlane, 80, of Lewiston, NY, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born on March 14, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Alexander MacFarlane and the late Helen (Hibbard) Fagiani. On March 21, 1959, he married the former Ann Boswell.

Mr. MacFarlane was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. Robert attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. He later earned his associates degree from Niagara County Community College. Mr. MacFarlane was employed by Moore Business Forms, where he worked as a Machine and Graphic Designer. Robert attended First Presbyterian Church in Lewiston and was a former member of the Lewiston Historical Society. He was a talented artist and had his small plane license and enjoyed local air shows and planes of all kinds.


In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. MacFarlane is survived by three children, Robert A. MacFarlane, Amy (Ronald) Pieroni and Scott A. (Jennifer) MacFarlane; four grandchildren, Gregory and Sarah MacFarlane and Alison and Ellen Pieroni; two siblings, Nicholas (Beth) Fagiani and Marcia Dorn and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by one brother, Donald (Kathleen of Niagara Falls, NY) MacFarlane.

23336 Robert Abersold, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday May 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Buffalo, NY he was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Abersold) Smith.

Bob served in the United States Navy with MP 206 in Buffalo during the Korean War from July 23, 1951 until his honorable discharge on July 22, 1959. He began a career in public safety as a deputy with the Chautauqua County Sheriff Department, and then worked for the New York State Department of Correction s at Attica. Bob later worked as an officer with the New York State Parks Police in Niagara Falls for over 21 years. He also served as the former treasurer of the Western New York Police Association. Bob enjoyed hunting, and was an avid reader, which made him the “go to” guy for trivia or any knowledge needed. He was also an avid fan of the NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills and will be sorrowfully missed by all. But most importantly Bob enjoyed spending cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (Price) Abersold; four children Ronald (Sandy) Cirrito, Richard Cirrito, and Lacinda Armele all of Niagara Falls, NY; Joan (Dominic) Flocare of Clarence, NY and was predeceased by his daughter Carol Hoisington. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Stephano Cirrito, Ryan Armele, Nicole Cirrito, Nicholas Cirrito, Michael Angelo Cirrito, Benjamin Trotter, Michael (Anissa) Flocare, Tammy (Tim) Schrand, Cheryle (Julie) Flocare, Jodi Bowman, Kimberly Gee and Henry Hoisington; one sister Margaret Ann (William) Binsley of New Middletown, OH and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Cecilia Abersold.

23337 Robert Ackerson, of Niagara Falls, died on Tuesday August 19, 2015 at home, while receiving care from Niagara Hospice. He was 73. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 7, 1941, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ackerson. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School.

Robert began his working career with Union Carbide Corp. In 1971 he started with Harrison Radiator as an electrician, retiring in 2001 with 30 years of employment. He also was the owner and operator of RK Electric.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy M. (Lauzau) Ackerson in 2013 and a brother, Richard Ackerson. Survivors include four children, Debra (Daniel) Hinman; Robert (Janet) Ackerson, Jr; William Ackerson and Dennis (Kelly) Ackerson; five grandchildren, Amanda, Kayla; Christopher; Alexis and Kyle; several nieces and nephews.

23338 Robert Anthony Wolanske, age 52 of Ransomville, NY, formerly of Wheatfield, entered into rest unexpectedly at his residence on July 17, 2024. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 14, 1971; son of Donald and Marina (Posa) Wolanske. A graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School, and attended Bryant and Stratton College. Robert was a former member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where he was confirmed. He was employed at Strenkoski Brothers Construction Co., Inc. and Cafarella Concrete Co. 23339 ROBERT B. WITKOP, age 94 of North Tonawanda, New York, was called to his heavenly home on April 25, 2020, while at the North Gate Health Care Facility, in Wheatfield. Born in the Town of Cambria, New York on February 9, 1926, son of the late Benjamin and Veronica (Gombert) Witkop. Robert served in the United States Army from 1944-1946. He was employed at the former Gombert Lumber Company, in North Tonawanda, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, in North Tonawanda. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Joyce (Collins) Witkop, on December 24, 2018. A private graveside service will take place in the North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria. 23340 Robert C. (Zimmie) Zimmerman, 77, a retired Army Sergeant, a 30 year veteran of the military, died Friday February 20, 2015, in Buffalo General Hospital. A native of Lockport he was born on July 7th, 1937, in Lockport, the son of the late Floyd and Catherine (burg) Zimmerman. Upon completion of High School he joined the military service and made a career that lasted 30 years. His military service included, he was a military policeman for over 16 years, also assigned to several missile bases, and aviation units in Niagara Falls, and the engineer battalion in of Buffalo, NY area. After his military career, Zimmie worked as a Security Guard for HSBC Bank and the bus driver known as “Mr. Bob”, for Ridge Road Express. Robert enjoyed traveling, reading, playing cards, and volunteering for many senior citizen groups in the local area, especially the Dale Association, in May of 2013, he was honored at the Dale with the Duncan Nixon Memorial Award, and the RSVP Hanci retired senior volunteer program, especially the Challenger Sports League for teens and adults with disabilities which involved his grandchildren and family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 319, the American Legion, A.J. Jurek Post 1672 in East Amherst, NY, along with the 74th/174th Infantry Retires and the 206th Military Police Retired Association, the Dale Association, the Rapids Seniors Association and a Life member of ST. John the Baptist RC Church. He worked many years as an election inspector for both the Niagara County Board of Elections and the Board of Education. Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan (Amsdill) Zimmerman, father of Mark (Brenda) Zimmerman, Julie (Floyd Staats) Zimmerman; three grandchildren, Mark, Mitchel and the late Slayter Zimmerman; brother of the late Judith (Ronald) Phillips and the late Norman (Edith) Zimmerman; brother-in-law George Amsdill Jr. and many loved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 23341 Robert C. Arnold, a longtime resident of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Buffalo General Hospital.  He was 93.  He was born in Niagara Falls on September 22, 1926, the son of Edward and Gertrude Angevine (Mason) Arnold.  Robert served his beloved country with great pride during WW II in the United States Army.  He was very proud of his duties done for all of us.  He was honored to have witnessed the Peace Treaty.
Following his honorable discharge, he briefly worked for Bell Aerospace and later went to work for Frontier Foundries until his retirement.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved baseball, and was a proud cheerleader for all his grandchildren’s games.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marion (Phillips) Arnold; five children, Robert Charles (Marsha) Arnold of Baltimore; Cherille Panza of Lewiston; John E. (Donna M.) Arnold of the Town of Boston; Thomas (Cynthia) Arnold of Niagara Falls and Barbara (Blake Kobee) Basden of Tonawanda; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by siblings, Gemeta Shields, Marian Clifton and Edward Arnold.
The family will be present Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where Funeral services with Military Honors will be held following the visitation at 8 PM.  The interment will be private in Bath National Cemetery,

23342 Robert Caraglin, 61, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this life on Monday, November 16, 2015. Born on April 2, 1954 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Anthony J. Caraglin, Sr., NFPD-Ret. of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Inez (D'Andrea) Caraglin. On May 15, 1976, Robert married the former Colleen O'Shea in Niagara Falls, NY.

Mr. Caraglin was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. Robert attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He was employed as a laborer for Carbon Graphite in Niagara Falls. Robert was a well-respected baseball coach for the Cayuga Youth Athletic Association and an avid hockey and Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He loved spending time with his family at his cabin in the southern tier.

In addition to his wife of over thirty-nine years, Mr. Caraglin is survived by three children, Shannon (Bill) Fundis of Lewiston, NY, Janelle (Jeff) Vicki of the Town of Niagara, NY and Chris Caraglin of the Town of Niagara, NY and was predeceased by his beloved son, Robert Caraglin and two infant sons. Robert is also survived by one granddaughter, Lilly Fundis; one brother, Anthony J. Caraglin, Jr. of Grand Island, NY; a close cousin, Frankie Caraglin and family and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

23343 Robert Charles Krause, 85, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in Mount St. Mary’s Hospital.  Born on January 5, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Shotwell and Edith (Newman) Krause.
 
Bob, as he was known to family and friends, was a life long resident of the Niagara Falls area and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School in 1951. He worked as a carrier for the Niagara Gazette from 1946-1951 and went on to a 4 year apprenticeship program, sponsored by New York State, graduating in 1955.  On August 6, 1955, Bob married his longtime girlfriend, the former Marilyn C. Baxter at Zion Lutheran Church.  He then entered in the United States Army in May of 1956, stationed in Yokohama, Japan and was honorably discharged as a corporal on June 30, 1962.  For 30 years, Bob was employed as a machinist for General Motors.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and his boston terriers and traveling with Marilyn in his retirement years.
 
In addition to his beloved wife, Bob is survived by children, Barbara (Craig) Scarupa and David (Kathleen) Krause; grandchildren, Julianne, Lauren, Robert J., John “Jack” and Samuel; a sister, Norma (Donald) Boyer and several nieces and nephews.

23344 Robert Covell passed away February 19, 2023. He was born on February 17, 1935 in Lockport, NY a son of Kenneth and Ruth (Foster) Covell.
Robert worked as a paint specialist for over 40 years at MeCorney’s Decorating Center. He was past president of the Eagles and Moose Clubs and a member of the Navy/Marine and American Legion. Robert enjoed fishing, hunting, watching sports especially the Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Tigers.
Robert was predeceased by his two wives Maybelle (Wills) and Erma (Spencer) Covell, daughters Jacquelyn Ritz, Melody James, step son Arthur Wagner. He is survived by his beloved step children Edythe (late Jeffery) Whitmore, Austin Wagner, Timothy James, Thomas Spencer, Irma Wagner, Matthew Faux; siblings Charles (June) Covell, Jack (Carol) Covell, Dennis (Kathleen) Covell, Nancy (late Louis) Mattiuzzo; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

23345 Robert Cvetan, age 92, of Lebanon, PA, formerly of Avon Park, FL and Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY was called peacefully to his heavenly home on January 1, 2009 in his residence. Born in Strabane, PA on January 20, 1916 to the late Anton and Frances (Hofer) Cvetan.He moved to Niagara Falls at the age of 20. He was united in marriage to Violet Wendt on September 23, 1939. She entered into rest on January 1, 2005. Robert was employed at the Wendt's Dairy, Heuer's Dairy and then became an Inspector with the Niagara County Health Department. He inspected farms, restaurants, swimming pools and became Senior Sanitarian in charge of air pollution, retiring after 35 years of service. He was the recipient of an award for outstanding service in the department. A member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, Robert and his wife enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States. He loved polka music, photography, tinkering with tools and was proud of his Slovenian heritage. After retirement he and his wife moved to Avon Park, FL where they resided for many years, and for the past eight years resided in Lebanon, PA.Survivors include a daughter, Adele Kemp; grandson, Robert (Shannon) Kemp; and great- grandson, Sean Kemp, all of Lebanon, PA; several brothers and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Cevtan, Elsie Wendt, Minnie and Walter DuBois, Herbert Wendt; and many nieces and nephews. Robert lived all his life in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He married his loving wife, Patricia (Bruno) Augustino, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Niagara Falls, NY on August 3, 1968. Robert worked as a car salesman for over 30 years and worked for various dealerships. He recently retired from Ki-Po Chevrolet where he loved to work and enjoyed his job. Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #247 and past member of the Sertoma club both of Niagara Falls, NY. During his spare time, Robert enjoyed watching Yankees baseball and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his four Children, Robert (Kerri) Augustino, Ryan Augustino, Randon (Susan) Augustino and Raegan Augustino all of Niagara Falls, NY; six grand children, Anthony, Mia, Robert III, Calabria, Carmela and Isabel; one sister, Grace (Gerry) Kovaleski of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

23347 Robert D. Barry, of Lockport, NY, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. He was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 17, 1926, the son of the late Wayne M. and Gladys I. (Carey) Barry.

Mr. Barry served in the US NAVY from 1944-46. After serving his country he flew with TWA as a radio operator. He was active in amateur radio, enjoyed woodworking, golf, fly-fishing and building and flying radio controlled planes. He loved all things electronic. He worked for the Wurlitzer Company and WER Industrial. In 1970 his passion for electronics led him to start his own company, Introl Design, which specializes in industrial motion controlled products.

Mr. Barry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joan W. (Clark) Barry, his sons Christopher Barry and Patrick (Deborah) Barry and daughter Eileen Smith. He was the grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 9. Brother of Wayne M. (late Marjory) Barry, late June E. (late Harold) Smith, late Roger L. Barry (Rita) and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Edwards, age 82 of Ransomville, died Friday June 5, 2015 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice.Bob was born September 20, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY the son of the late Albert and Rose (Rodgers) Edwards. He was a route salesman for Frito Lay Co. in Williamsville for 36 years. Bob enjoyed playing cards and telling stories. With his great sense of humor he loved making people laugh and he was also very generous. He is survived by his children, David R. Edwards (Sharon Dean) of Sanborn, Douglas (Rose) Edwards of Ransomville, Bruce A. Edwards (Rebecca) and Scott Edwards (Shari Aughtman) both of the Town of Lewiston, and Annette (Frank) Faltisco of Niagara Falls; a brother, Albert (Audrey) Edwards of Salamanca, NY; a sister, Beatrice Sutherland of Niagara Falls, Ontario; his former wife, Shirley M. Edwards; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandchild and three sisters, Ruth Crawley, Shirley Sumbler, and Dolores Duffy. 23349 Robert D. Ferry, of Niagara Falls, died on Friday, February 23, 2018 at home while receiving loving care from his family and Niagara Hospice.  He was born in New Bethlehem, PA on December 24, 1942, the son of Harold and Irene (Troutner) Ferry. 
Robert was employed for thirty years with the Carborundum Company / Saint Gobain. Relocating to Silver Springs, FL, where Bob was the happiest, loving the sunshine and the Florida heat.  Most importantly, he enjoyed the twice weekly rounds of golf and the poker nights with fellow snowbirds.   
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy (Tierney) Ferry; daughter, Traci Sepe (Mike Hayes, Sr.); sons, Robert Ferry, Jr. (Danielle); Michael Ferry (Tina Lively); grandchildren,  Amy Sepe; Shawn Greenawalt; Joseph Sepe; Michael Ferry, Jr; Kacey Ferry; Emily Ferry; great grandchildren, Sophia Greenawalt; brother, David Ferry (Lucretia); close friend and brother in law, Joe Tierney of Silver Springs, Florida, who called him weekly to wish him well; Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 
Private services and burial will be held for the family.  The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Niagara Hospice Chaplain Brian Meahl; Heidi; Donna and Heather during this difficult time.

23350 Robert D. Hopfer, Jr., 64, of Wheatfield, NY, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born on November 20, 1952 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of Robert D. and Elizabeth (McCrory) Hopfer, Sr.
Mr. Hopfer was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield, NY.  Bobby, as he was known by family and friends, t attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School.  On June 30, 1973, he married the former Sherry L. Blanchard.  Mr. Hopfer was employed as a diesel mechanic for Jack Cooper.  Bobby’s main hobby was working in his garage; on cars and helping his family and friends. He did whatever he could for everyone.  Bobby spent his early mornings before work walking his dog, who was like another child to him.  He had the biggest heart and the very best sense of humor.
In addition to his beloved wife of over 43 years, Mr. Hopfer is survived by his daughter, Angela M. Lupo; sisters, Jane (Jack) Smith and Patricia Miles and several nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren.  Bobby was predeceased by one sister, Debbie and one brother, Daniel.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Bobby’s life on Saturday, July 22nd at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offings may be made to Niagara Hospice.
