Clifton Springs. Dec. 9 - Coroner
L. P. Conley of this village will con-
duct an inquest Thursday at 9
o'clock into the death of James
Cornell, 7 year old son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Cornell of the Phelps-
Clifton Springs Road. The boy
was struck late today by an auto-
mobile driven by C. Ballard of
Canandaigua, R. D. and died in
the Clifton Springs Sanitarium two
hours later.
Young Cornell was returning
home from schooll this afternoon
and was walking along the Clifton
Springs Phelps Road when Bal-
lard's car approached. According
to Ballard's report to the coroner,
the boy darted across the road into
the path of his car, moving at a
25-mile an hour speed. Ballard
took the boy to the sanitarium
here, where he died. an autopsy
performed by Dr. W. S. Thomas re-
vealed death due to fractured
skull. Ballard was not held, but
will appear at the inquest Thurs-
day.

John G. Elser, who at one time had
the agency of the Democrat and Chronicle
for the West Side, died on. Thursday
night at his home, No. 305 Child street,
aged 64 years. He was born in Wittenberg,
Germany, and came to the United
States and directly to Rochester when
he was 18 years old. He lived in the
Twentieth ward the rest of his life.
Mr. Elser, shortly after he came to
Rochester, obtained employment with the
Fleckenstein Bakery Company. He later
was made superintendent of that concern.
In 1880 be started in the bakery
business for himself. Five years afterwards
ho went into the real estate business.
He retired from this on account of
ill health.
He leaves his wife. Mrs. Eva Elser:
two sons, John and William Elser; two
daughters, Mrs. John La Force and Mrs.
Nicholas LaForce, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Monday
afternoon.

Mr. Buckley, who was born
in Brighton, died Sunday (Dec.
3, 1961) at Park Avenue Hos-
pital after a brief illness. His
home was at 500 Rumson
Road
He started his bus line on
Lake and Ridge Road west of
Parma and Hilton in 1918 and
continued it until 1925 when
he sold out to the New York
State Railways, later the Roch-
ester Transit Corp.
From 1925 to 1940 he op-
erated the Hilton Service Co.,
an oil firm, and since 1940
had been foreman of the East-
man Kodak Co. garage.
He leaves his widow, Mrs.
Marian Lark Buckley; two sis-
ters, Mrs. Walter Burns and
Mrs. John A. Lamb,, and two
brothers, J. Lloyd Bucklley
and Linton Buckley. Burial
will be in Holy Sepulchre
Cemetery.

officiated. Flowers, palms and ferns
wero used effectively to carry out
tho decorative motif. The bride wore
a white hand embroidered crepe de
chlne gown and carried bride roses.
She was attended by Miss Harriet
G. Weaver of llion, who was dressed
in a yellow crepe de chlne and carried
yellow roses. Tho bridegroom
was accompanied by Lynn B. Johnson.
The other attendants wore Mr.
and Mrs. Christopher Amish of Rochester,
the latter being dressed in
white and yellow flowers. The
brlde's mother. Mrs. Seymour Johnson,
wore a gown of gray silk and
georgette crepe. After a trip to
Utica and Illon whore they will visit
relatives, the bride and bridegroom
will live with her people until spring.
The bride is a teacher at Taunton.
N. Y., and her husband Is an employe
at tho H. H. Franklin Manufacturing
Company. Luncheon was
served after the ceremony to 20
guests. Among those were Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Amish of Spcncorport,

Tatu of Olcott, 12 miles north of
here, was killed Instantly at 2
o'clock this afternoon whan struck
by an automobile driven by Mrs.
Pearl Sampson of Olcott while
crossing a street In the lakeside
village.
The child had just purchased a
package of cookies from a bakery
wagon and was running with the
cookies clutched tightly in her
hand when struck. Dr. F. T. Car
mer, coroner, learned. Mrs Sampson
claimed the child ran directly

Tha coroner will conduct an inquest
at his office Thursday evening

heart attack suffered Wednesday
evening. Hs was 57.
Mr. Amish was born in Ogden. Apr.
12, 1875. and had lived in Rochester
30 years. For the last 12 years he
had been in the real estate business.
Before that he was a commercial
traveler.
He leaves his wife. Mrs. Helena
M Amish: two brothers, Lewis of
Brockport and George of Rochester.
and a sister. Mrs. William Ballard of
Spencerport. He was a member of
Germania Lodge, F & A M, Roch-
ester Commantory, Damacus Temple
and Rochester Mutual Benefit Asso-
ciation. He also was a member and
past president of the United Commer-
cial Travelers Association.
Funeral services will be conducted
at his home Sunday afternoon at
2:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Pleas-
sant Hill Cemetery, Ogden.

74, of the Dodgson Road, died
Thursday (April 30, 1964) after
suffering a heart attack at his
home.
Born in Darien Dec. 15, 1889,
Mr. Buckman was the son of
Fred and Augusta Wanneke
Buckman. He had resided on
the Dodgson Road 53 years
and had been engaged in
farming. He was a member of
the Holy Name of Mary Church
in East Pembroke and North
Darien Grange 405. On Feb. 23
1909, he married Theresa Sta-
pell, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons,
Charles of Batavia, Harold of
Stafford and Norman of Hone-
oye Falls; a daughter, Mrs.
Norene Ayraut of Alden; a
brother, George of Corfu; three
sisters, Mrs.. Augusta Hardie
and Mrs. Ellen Seltz of Buf-
falo and Mrs. Edna Schell of
Michigan; four grandchildren,
and a great-grandchild.

George Poyneer. who died suddenly in
New York. N. Y., at noon on Saturday,
will be held from the Shortsville Presbyterian
Church at 2 o'clock Tuesday

will follow in Brookside cemetery.
Shortsvile. Mr. Poyneer was born
ia Palmyra forty-three years ago. and
during his boyhood was a frequent visitor
to this Village, his aunt being the
late Mrs. Clara Van de Carr, of Shortsville.
Twenty years ago he was married
to Miss Jennie Alliger, of Elmira,
and for the past ten years they have
made their home in Buffalo. Mr. Poyneer
was a traveling salesman. He
leaves his wife, one son. Robert, and one
daughter, Louise, all of Buffalo.

Miss Lorraine Benwitz was her
sister's only attendant, and was
gowned in blue silk organza. She
wore a pink halo in her hair and
carried pink roses and blue snap-
dragons.

man for Mr Markham.
Following the ceremony a reception
was held at the Roosevelt.
Out of town guests attending in-
cluded Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Mark-
ham, Miss Katherine Markham,
Miss Alice Markham, Owen Mc-
Manus, Dean Smith, Peter Keis-
gans, Roy Wahl and Clair Mark-
ham of Syracuse and Harry Hutch-

setting of gladioli, lilies, palms and
lighted candelabra.
The bride wore a princess-style
gown of white satin fashioned
with a sweetheart neckline and
a circular train. A seed pearl tiara
held her fingertip veil of French
illusion and she carried a white
satin muff covered with white orchids
and stephanotis.
Mrs. Robert Harris ofv East
Rochester, matron of honor, wore
orchid chiffon and carried a
matching muff covered with yellow
pansles. The bride's nieces,
Susan Huff and Karen Boniface,
were flower girls. They wore white
net and carried small muffs topped
with purple pansies.

a long illness.
Mr. Buckman was born in

had resided in the Batavia area
for 30 years an retired three
years ago after beingnight
watchman for the Walls Bean
& Grain Co. He was a member
of the Bethany Center Fire
Department.
Surviving are his wiow, the
former Dora Moltrup; a daugh-
ter, Mrs.. Paul Moltrup of Mor-
ganville; a foster daughter,, Mrs.
David Hiscutt of East Bethany;
two brothers, George of Corfu
