They were attended by Mrs. Thelma Davis, sister of the bride, and Arthur N. Davis, brother-inlaw of the bride. The bride wore a navy blue velvet aress with matching accessories. Her corsage was American Beauty roses. Her sister wore a dress of powder blue and matching accessories. Pink roses formed her corsage. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents after the ceremony. Mrs. Beuhler attended St. Mary's School and Mr. Beuhler Oriskany Central School. He is employed by the Union Fork & Hoe Co. 23602 | Rome NY Daily Sentinel - 12/5/1970 Irving L. Briggs, 67, of 215 W. Bloomfield St., died this morning at Rose Hospital after a seven-week illness. He was a retired employe of Revere's Rome Division. Son of Benjamin and Fannie Bates Briggs, he was born Oct. 29, 1903, in Boonville. He attended Boonville schools. Before coming to Rome in 1942, he had lived in Port Leyden. On Sept. 4, 1926, he married Clistie Burgy in the First United Methodist Church, Rome, with the Rev. O'Dale King officiating. Before his retirement in 1967, Mr. Briggs had been employed at Revere as a chauffeur. Mr. Briggs was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hathaway Lodge of F&AM, the John H. Allendorf Court, Order of the Amaranth. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Donald I. Briggs, Verona; a sister, Mrs. Flora Johnson, Boonville; five grandchildren, Timothy, Pamela, Joseph, Michael and Charles Briggs, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 9:30 Monday at the Prince and Boyd Home for Funerals with the Rev. Leland W Webster pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Hulsizer, 55, of 116 Ford St., who with her husband operated the former Band Box Cleaners, Main St., died Thursday at the home of a daughter after a long illness. ! The former Ethel L. Boyce, she was born Sept. 1 23, 1919, in Boonville, daughter of George and Lanie Grower Boyce. She resided in Boonville most of her life and attended Boonville High School. -During World War II, she worked for the Post Office Department near Baltimore, Md. She and Mr. Hulsizer were married in Boonville Sept. 8,1944. He died Sept. 20,1970. She was a member of the Boonville Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She leaves her mother; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Christine) Bachman and Mrs. Dale (Patricia) Kent; a brother, Frederick Boyce; a sister, Anna Farr, and two grandchildren, all of Boonville. He was born in Clockville, Dec. 21, 1889, the son of Frank and Lucy Clement Brewer, and had been a resident of this area all his life. Mr. Brewer who was engaged in dairy farming, never mar« ried. At one time he was part owner of the family business known several years ago as the Orchard Place Dairy. H« was a member of the Madison County E x t e n s i o n Service; an honorary member of the Madison County Firemen's Association, and a f o r m e r member of the Oneida Nest of Owls 1606. She had been in poor health for the past two months. Pearl E. Carpenter, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Carpenter of Denley, was born there 24 years ago. At Boonville in 1921 she was married to Mr. Briggs. They moved to Rome about five months ago. Besides her husband and parents, two daughters survive: Helen Louise and Dorothy Irene Briggs; also three brothers and one sister, Howard and Chester Carpenter of Denley, Perry Carpenter of Ballston Spa, and Mrs. Ernest Selmon of "Denley. Mrs, Briggs had been a devout member of the Presbyterian Church of Boonville. 23608 | Rome NY Daily Sentinel - 3/11/1931 Lucian F. Brenon. 72, widely known resident of this city for the past 40 years, passed away at noon today at his home R. F. D. 3, after an illness of several weeks. He was stricken with heart trouble February 13 and had been confined to his bed since that time. A son of Aime Brenon and Rose Manigolde, both natives of France, and pioneer settlers in Lewis and Jefferson counties, Mr. Brenon was born in the town of Turin, May 9. 1858. The elder Brenon was a major general in the army of Napoleon I and was on the ill-fated retreat from Moscow. Following his marriage forty years ago in ST. Mary's Church here to Mrs. Minnie Bradt of Lee Center, Mr. Brenon came to this city and had since made his home here. He conducted the Brenon Farm on the Rome-Utica highway, just outside the city limits. He was a member of St. Mary's Church and of the Altar Society of that church. Surviving, besides his wife, is a daughter. Mrs. George Q. Grogan at home and a grandson, George Lu cian Grogan of this city. On June 16, 1920, he and Lucille Brandis of Deansboro were married. They have resided here since. He was a World War I veteran, having served in Europe. He was a member of Hiram Baker Barracks 660, Whitesboro, Veterans of World War I, and of Modern Woodmen of America. Mr. Whaley was president of the Deansboro Cemetery Association, superintendent of the Deansboro Water Company, member of Barton Hose Co., Deansboro, and the Methodist Church of Vernon Center. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Theodore, Deansboro; a brother, LeRoy, Oneida; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was born on Welsh Hill, December 3, 1862, a son of the late Amie and Rosella Manigold Bre- Brenon. When a young man he lived den, where he attended school and later taught school for several for several years with his sister, Mrs. Rain© Maurer, at West Leyyears. In December, 1888, he married Mis3 Mary Runge of Romp, who died 17 years ago. In February, 1921, he married Mrs. Jennie Manigold, who survives. Mr. Brenon was a violinist of note and bad played with a local orchestra on numerous occasions. He was a successful farmer and had a large circle of friends. He was a member of the Maple Ridge Catholic Church. He was born in West Leyden, Feb. 4, 1882, a son of the late Frederick and Raine Brennon Maurer. On Nov. 24,1908, he married the former Olive Kraeger at St. Michael's Church, Mohawk Hill. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. M. Kenney. Mrs. Maurer died Oct. 8, 1947. Mr. Maurer was engaged in farming and had always lived on the farm where he was born. (Dutch) Johnson, 68, of 613 Calvert St., a meat cutter for several chain stores and markets in Rome most of his life, died yesterday in a Rome hospital after a long illness. For the past six years he had been custodian for the Mid-York Library System at Jervis Li- brary until it moved to Utica three weeks ago. A Rome native, he was born Feb. 2, 1898, son of Gilbert L. and Grace A. Mahaney Johnson, and attended schools here. On July 28, 1919, in Port Leyden, he married the former Flora Briggs. They lived for a few years in Port Leyden and Boonville, and the rest of their marrid lives in Rome. Mr. Johnson was a former member of the Roman Lodge, F&AM, was a Shriner and a 32nd Degre Mason. Surviving with his wife are a son, Arnold E. Johnson, Rome; a sister, Mrs Dewey (Geral- dean) Wiley, Rome; a brother, Clark G. C, were held here this morning at St. Mary's Church. Rev. F. J. Connors celebrated requiem high mass. Mrs. Edna Kime sang during the mass. The bearers were: Raymond and William Beha, Eugene Ammon, Stuart Kime. Interment was made in the West Leyden cemetery. Mary Beha was born in West Leyden May 17, 1860 the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Anna Wilbert Beha. She spent most of her younger years here. On Jan. 22, 1889 she was united in marriage at Mohawk Hill with Henry Ammon of this place. They lived at Lee Center several years. About twelve yeara ago she moved to Washington, D. C. She was a devoted wife and mother and had a fine Christian character. Dr. Preston R. Clark, Oneida County coroner, said death was accidental and caused by a fractured skull suffered in a 20- foot fall from the porch of newly built wing. Mr. Traub was born May 10. 1909, in Lockport, the son of George and Pauline Boehnke Traub. He received his education at the Niagara Falls High School and was a graduate of the Cornell University Hotel Ad ministration School. Following his graduation, he traveled for four years for American Export Lines, and for 11 years was manager of the Elmira City Club. Mr. Briggs, who had lived in Rome past 25 years, retired in 1957 from Rome Division of Revere. He was born in Boonville on Feb. 12, 1894, son of Benjamin and Fannie Bates Briggs, and attended schools there. He married Pearl Carpenter on June 10, 1920, in Boonville. She died several years ago. Wed Second Time On Aug. 20, 1954, at Star Lake, he married Mary Maude Come. She died Nov. 21, 1963. Mr. Briggs, who had lived at Saranac Lake and Brushton prior to coming to Rome, was an Army veteran of World War I and was of the Methodist faith. She moved with her family to Northwood in the Town of Russia as a child and attended schools there. In her 32 years' residence on the River Road Mrs. Brenon had made a host of friends and was one of the best known residents of that section. She carried an arm bouquet of bridal roses and liliesof- the-valley. The bridesmaid was charming in a ruffled nlle green chiffon. Barringer, after a short illness. Mr. Barringer had been a resident of Ava for 50 years. He -was a, son of the late David and Ellen Roberts Barringer and was born in Troy, Nov. 21. 1845. He came with his parents to Highmarket at the age of one year. Later the family settled in Constableville, where Mr. Barringer's father built the blacksmith shop now known as the Traxel shop. On Jan. 15, 1878. he was united in marriage with Miss Martha Haynes at North Western by Rev. Williams. They first settled in Lee Center, later coming to Ava, where Mr. Barringer was engaged in fanning. Mrs. Barringer died Feb. 23, 1925', The deceased was a lifelong Democrat and was actively interested in the affairs of his town. He attended the Ava M. E. Church. He was the oldest of a family of 11 children. Surviving are two daughter, Mrs. Newton Tiffany and Mrs. Burton S. Hurlbut, and one son, Seymour W. 23649 | RONALD "RED" APPOLONEYDECEMBER 10, 1944 - APRIL 8, 2020Ronald "Red" Samuel Appoloney, 75 years old, passed away on April 8, 2020. He was born in Niagara Falls on December 10, 1944, the son of the late Frank "Appy" and Lena (Donato) Appoloney. Red worked as a laborer for Laborers Local 91 for over 30 years until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed gardening, sports and the New York Yankees. Most importantly Red loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.Red is survived by his children; Anthony (Rebekah Pitoni) Appoloney, Maria (Edward Smith) Appoloney, Ronald (Allison) Appoloney and Gina (Vince Cerrone) Appoloney; his grandchildren Nicholas, Lauren, Tori and Ronald III Appoloney; great- grandson, Alaric Appoloney and his sister, Penelope "Penny" (Mark) McMahan-Adams and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Red was predeceased by his sister, Frances (Donald) Boyd and his infant brother, Richard Appoloney. Private services and interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery were held for the family. A Memorial Mass will be held on a date to be announced. 23650 | Ronald "Ron" Scarfone, 44, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, Saturday, February 13, 2010. Born and educated in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Sandra (Reubens) Scarfone. Ronald lived most of his life in Niagara Falls, NY and enjoyed cooking, fishing and camping. Ronald is survived by his four children, Christopher DuVal of Amherst, NY, Anthony M. Scarfone, Ronald "Ronnie" Scarfone and Stephanie Scarfone, all of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Buchman of Niagara Falls, NY, Gina L. (Robert) Mollosky of North Tonawanda, NY and Julie (Michael) Brierley of Niagara Falls, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
