Born July 17, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Archie and Mary Ann (Rajczak) Pera. Ron is survived by his beloved bride of 44 years, Judith A. (Behrens) Pera, who he married on August 17, 1974. Ron attended local schools and retired from Good Year Tire & Rubber Co. after 40 years of service. He was the owner of R A Pera Auto Wrecking in Niagara Falls, NY which he ran with his brother Richard until the time of Richard’s passing. Ron loved hunting in the southern tier with his father and brother; was an avid Mopar fan and enjoyed NASCAR Racing. He also loved welding and soldering projects, and drove his cherished Dodge Ram, “Grumbles” and Dodge Challenger only when the sun would shine. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Christopher (Tammy) Pera; daughters, Cheryl Pera and Elise (Paul) Faleski; two grandchildren, Paul Faleski and Laura (Eric) Dietz; four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 23652 | Ronald C. Allen, age 88 of Ransomville, died Tuesday October 9, 2018 in Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. Ron was born December 24, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Percy C. Allen and Eva R. Voelker. On June 10, 1950 he married Lorna M. McCollum who preceded him in death on December 27, 2013, breaking a marital union of 63 years. Ron retired from Moore Business Forms, Inc. (Niagara Falls, NY, Lewisburg, PA, Libertyville, IL) after 40 years of employment. He was a member of the Forestview Church of God in Lewiston and the Youngstown Senior Center. Ron is survived by two sons, Roger (Martha) Allen and Terry Allen; three daughters, Peggy Stockdale, Sandra (Howie) Duncan, and Sharon (John) Clement; 13 grandchildren, Seth, Lucas, Joshua, Curtis, Ariana, Aubrey, AudraLeigh, Jonathan, Jeremy, Marissa, Brent, Eric, and Ashley; 25 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of James and Angeline (Bruno) Beningo. Ron was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls, NY, and later attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV. On June 10, 1972, he married Linda M. (Volpe) Beningo at St. Joseph Church. Ron was employed for 42 years with Occidental Chemical Corporation as an Electrician until his retirement in 2017. He enjoyed working in his yard, and was an avid fan of Notre Dame Football and the New York Yankees. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family. In addition to his wife of 51 years, Ronald is survived by his children, Marion F. Beningo and Ronald C. (Miranda) Beningo, Jr.; his siblings, Richard (Sharon) Beningo, Rosemary (late Michael) Hennigan, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. 23654 | Ronald C. Stump passed away March 9, 2025 in Niagara Hospice House. Born November 17, 1937 in Lockport he was the son of the late Carlton and Doris (Peters) Stump. Ronald attended local schools and earned his Associates degree in Electronic Technology from Erie Tech graduating in 1957. While attending Erie Tech he served in the NY National Guard from 1955 to 1957. Ron worked for Sylvania and Bell Aerospace before relocating to Rochester in 1961. He attended RIT and worked for the University of Rochester, from which he graduated from in 1967 with his Bachelor’s degree, in the Physics Department building equipment for the Cyclotron Particle Accelerator. Ron moved to Silicon Valley in 1969 and started working for National Semiconductor, and remained out there until 2023 when he moved back to the WNY area. Ron’s passions was hiking and photography. He created thousands of photos and was a fanatic about quality and photo editing. He hiked in several locations including The Sierras, Letchworth, the Niagara Gorge, and Ellicott Creek Park. Ron would describe his hikes with his trademark of, “the miles distance and elevation gain”. He also helped clearing of the Gulf Wilderness Trail with his saw and lopping shears. He will be missed with occasional afternoon visits by Don & “Molly”. 23655 | Ronald D. Tower, age 68 of Ransomville, died Monday, May 7, 2018 in the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a long illness. Ron was born August 11, 1949 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Ronald C. and Arlene (Plumadore) Tower and was a 1968 graduate of Lewiston-Porter High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Ron served with the Seabees until his honorable discharge in July of 1970. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Ron was a carpenter and was employed by Scrufari Construction in Niagara Falls for 20 years until 2003. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local #280 and had served on the Executive Board of the Union. From 2006 to 2010 Ron worked part time for the Town of Porter. He was a member of and former Chief and Assistant Chief of the Ransomville Volunteer Fire Co. as well as serving as a Commissioner for the Ransomville Fire District. Ron also enjoyed bowling in leagues in Lewiston and Wilson. He married Donna (Thaxter) Tower on October 12, 1980. In addition to Donna he is survived by his children, Kenneth (Karen) Tower, Leslie (Jason) Doyle, Trisha Tim, and Robert Tower (fiancé` Mallory Jakaub); his grandchildren, Destiny and Justine Metzler, Liberty Doyle, Olivia, Devon, and Ella Tower, Matthew Clark, Madilyne and Nyx Tim; a great grandson, Bentley William Harris; and two sisters, Linda Tower and Janis Powers; he was predeceased by a brother, Gary Tower. He is also survived by a son, Brendan (Joe Easterly); a sister, Margaret Mort Polino; sister-in-law Cyndi (James) McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his son, Kenneth; siblings, Irene Jacob, and Edward Mort. Ron was an outstanding athlete in his youth. After high school, his creative side emerged and he was the proverbial self-taught man in all he pursued – sign maker, laborer, and newspaper publisher/ editor of the Niagara Observer. In 1981, he and Paula worked together at their business, Printing Productions for over 40 years. Most of all, he enjoyed time at home – his sanctuary on the lower Niagara River. Mr. Carlisle served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a cabinet maker at Scholles Lumber in Sanborn and later a carpententer with the Carpenter’s Union, before retiring in 1981. Mr. Carlisle was a member of the Sanborn Legion and Lions Club, he was also an avid sportsman. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Gloria J. [Treichler] Carlisle, one son Wayne D. (Desiree) Carlisle of Cumming, GA, two daughters Diane (Gregory) DiNezza of Berholtz and Cynthia (late Gary) Crook of Davison, NC, five grandchildren Melissa (Trevor) Bannister, Michelle (Kenneth) Kuriscak, Tayler (Sean) McCardy, Cody and Zach Carlisle, four great grandchildren Julia, Madeline, Morgan and Marianna, also many nieces and nephews. 23661 | Ronald F. Jex COOPERSTOWN - Ronald F. Jex, a long-time member of the Cooperstown community who was active with his church, the Masons and Lions, and who will be remembered for his years managing the Cooperstown General Store on Main Street, peacefully entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of Friday, November 1, 2024, at his home on Chestnut Street. He was 87. Ronald Francis Jex was born November 23, 1936, in Lockport, one of six children of Nelson L. Jex, a native of Great Yarmouth, England, and Marian Loraine (Wilcox) Jex. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Buffalo. He was inducted into the United States Army on September 19, 1960, and proudly served his country until receiving his honorable discharge from the military on September 18, 1962. On September 14, 1963, Ron married Marti Huntress in a ceremony at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Vineland, New Jersey. In 1971, Ron and Marti and their young family moved to Cooperstown and settled into their home on Chestnut Street. Throughout his life, Ron was a successful businessman for several retail stores. He owned and operated the Ben Franklin store in Fort Plain, managed the Cooperstown General Store on Main Street in Cooperstown in the space formerly occupied by the J.J. Newberry department store, and assisted Marti in owning and operating Ellsworth & Sill on Main Street up until just a few years ago. On May 13, 1959, Ron was Raised a Master Mason in Kingston Lodge No. 10, Free and Accepted Masons in Kingston. After moving to Cooperstown, Ron affiliated with Otsego Lodge No. 138, F. & A.M. on December 28, 1973, and right up until his unexpected death was a dedicated and faithful Lodge Brother who rarely missed a meeting. He served the Lodge as Worshipful Master in 1980, was Treasurer from January 1985 until June 2022, and was currently serving as the Lodge's Chaplain, a position he has held for many years. At the state level he served from 1988-1989 as Grand Steward for the Grand Lodge of the State of New York, the position which bestowed on him the title of Right Worshipful Brother. This past June, Ron was honored for 65 years of loyal support and dedication to the Masonic Fraternity at an event attended by many Brother Masons and guests from throughout the state. He was also a member since 1996 of Otsego Chapter No. 26, Royal Arch Masons. Companion Jex kept this Chapter together whilst serving for over 10 years as the Excellent High Priest. Brother Jex will be greatly missed by his many Brothers and friends in the Masonic Fraternity, and he will be fondly remembered for his steadfast dedication to the Craft. A Presbyterian his entire life, Ron was equally dedicated to his faith community, The First Presbyterian Church of Cooperstown, which he joined on May 20, 1975. He served the church as a Trustee from 1988-1994, was ordained an Elder in 2020, and faithfully served as Financial Secretary from 1999-2021. Since October of 1971, Ron has been a member and former President of The Lions Club of Cooperstown. As one of its' oldest members, both in age and years of membership, he could still be counted on to be present at Club meetings and social gatherings. He was also a member of the Clark F. Simmons American Legion Post No. 579 in Cooperstown, and enjoyed history. The Masons, Lions, church, business and especially family were all vital parts of Ron's well-lived life. His presence on Chestnut Street, whether it was raking leaves, shoveling snow, walking their dog or arriving at church each Sunday arm in arm with Marti, will be greatly missed. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marti; their two daughters, Dr. Sandra Jex, DVM and husband, Doug of Springfield, Vermont, and Lynn Jex Joyce of Clifton Park; and five grandchildren, Dr. Lauren Musial and husband, Dr. Shawn Musial, Alexander Warner and his fiancé, Lina Corbacho, Catherine Warner, Ryan Joyce-US Army, and Caitlyn Joyce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings, Albert W. Jex (1997), Gertrude J. Jex (2015), Frederick N. Jex (2016), Nelsonia L. Murphy (2020) and Joanne F. Fligger (2021). A Funeral Service will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024, at The First Presbyterian Church of Cooperstown, with the Rev. Jessica D. Lambert, Lead Pastor officiating. A Masonic Funeral Service will be held at the start of the service, led by his friends and Brother Masons from Otsego Lodge No. 138, F.& A.M., as well as Brother Masons from through the Central Leatherstocking Masonic District. Immediately following the services, all are welcome to gather in The Chapel adjoining the Church for a time of refreshment and fellowship. 23662 | Ronald G. Houck, age 84 of Beavercreek, passed away on January 8, 2019. He was the son of the late Andrew and Florence Houck. Ronald is survived by his sons Ronald Houck II, Richard Houck and Randolph Houck, daughter Desiree Pratt, six grandchildren, Michael McCarthy, Brandon McCarthy, Devonne Pratt, Garrett Pratt, Emily Houck, and Nathan Houck, and five great-grandchildren, Zayne McCarthy, Blaine McCarthy, Payton McCarthy, Harper McCarthy, and Killian McCarthy. He was the brother of the late Marlene Briggs and Nelson Houck Ronald graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1952 and attended Erie County Technical Institute in Buffalo, NY for one year while studying engineering. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1954 where he did basic training in Fort Knox, KY, went to Fort Bliss, TX for training as a radar technician, and then assigned to Fort Niagara five miles from home. In 1955, he was sent to the United States Military Preparatory Academy at West Point and attended as a cadet. He then requested assignment and was sent to Combat Arms, staying until the end of his enlistment in 1957. Ronald moved to Gainesville, FL to attend the University of Florida and complete his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1961. After graduation, he took a position at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, TX. In 1965, he moved his family to Owego, NY, having accepted a position as an electrical engineer at IBM Corporation. Ronald relocated to Beavercreek, OH in 1977 to work as an engineering consultant for various companies in the Dayton area. In 1981, he opened The Tobacco Wharf in Beavercreek, selling cigars, pipes, upscale tobacco products, and gifts. The Tobacco Wharf was renamed to The Wharf when he relocated the store to its current location with more extensive products and gift lines. He created a smoking club for friends and fellow smokers to gather and socialize. The patrons always were greeted by the store resident, his prized African Grey parrot named Smoker. Ronald continued to run the business along with his eldest son. The business continues today under the management of his son, Ronald Houck II. Ronald was a cabinet maker, a writer, and an actor, having appeared in greater than 30 theatre productions and television commercials. As a lover of poetry, he recited poems and sang in his deep baritone voice to anyone within ear’s reach. A voracious reader and owner of an extensive library of books, he especially loved books about military history and ships of the sea. Ronald was an admirer of art, music, and the theater. He was known for his outgoing personality and knew no strangers. Ron always cared deeply for his family and friends. Born August 17, 1948 in Niagara Falls, he was a son of the late Irven and Edna (Crew) Rolfe. Ron was a 1966 graduate of Lewiston Porter Central School. Ron worked as a truck driver his entire career. He last worked for Modern Landfill in Youngstown NY. He also was the bouncer at Apple Grannies in Lewiston. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and lifetime member of the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Department, having served actively from 1970 until 1995. Ron played Santa for over 50 years for area families in and around Western NY. Surviving is one sister, Edna (Jack) Strope of Model City, NY; two nieces, Stacey Walker and Dawn Ryals, three grand-nephews, Tyler, Anthony and Nicholas, three grand-nieces, Cassie, Savanah and Kimberly. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Rolfe, who died in 1974. Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 11:00 AM to Noon in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue, Bradford, PA, at Noon. He was born on May 27, 1939, in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Frederick and Mary (nee DeSantis) Mirabelli. Ron attended Holy Angels Academy and Canisius High School. He received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Buffalo State University. After college, he taught elementary school in Spring Valley and North Collins, NY. In 1966, he became an administrator at Niagara County Community College, where he met his future wife, the former Sue Nichols. They were married on April 20, 1968, in Ransomville, NY. After serving in various administrative roles, Ron retired in 1997 as Dean of Enrollment Services. He was a Second Lieutenant in the Army National Guard and was proud to have been a company commander of the 127th Armored Division based at the Connecticut Street Armory in Buffalo, NY. Throughout his life, Ron had a deep passion for sports. He played three sports in high school and basketball in college, and for a brief time, he played semi-pro football. His love for sports continued into his work career, where he enjoyed daily racquetball games. In retirement, Ron cherished watching his grandchildren's sporting events, listening to classical music, bike riding, and traveling. Besides his parents, Ron is predeceased by his caring brothers Frederick and Richard Mirabelli. After serving in various administrative roles, Ron retired in 1997 as Dean of Enrollment Services. He was a Second Lieutenant in the Army National Guard and was proud to have been a company commander of the 127th Armored Division based at the Connecticut Street Armory in Buffalo, NY. Throughout his life, Ron had a deep passion for sports. He played three sports in high school and basketball in college, and for a brief time, he played semi-pro football. His love for sports continued into his work career, where he enjoyed daily racquetball games. In retirement, Ron cherished watching his grandchildren's sporting events, listening to classical music, bike riding, and traveling. 23666 | Ronald J. “Ron” Licht, Sr., 65, of Niagara Falls, NY entered into rest suddenly at home on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Ruben “Mike” and Catherine (Strasser) Licht. Ron lived in the area all of his life and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. He worked as a pipe fitter for twenty plus years at Union Carbide of Niagara Falls and retired in 1993. He was also a member of the O.C.A.W. Pipe Fitters Union. Ron was an avid sportsman and was a past member of LaSalle Sportsman Club where he served on the Board of Directors. He was an avid Hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees. Ron also coached for the Hyde Park Little League Baseball and served on their Board of Directors as well. 23667 | Ronald James Schulz, age 64, of Niagara Falls, was called by his Lord and Savior on February 2, 2021 to join family and friends in his everlasting heavenly home. Ron was born Oct. 20, 1956 to Erwin and Helen (Demsky) Schulz. He attended schools in North Tonawanda and Tonawanda, graduating from Tonawanda High School in 1974. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1976 until March 4, 1984. Ron was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Moriah from his first marriage, his in-laws, Reverend Lawrence and Betty Herfurth, and his brother in-law, John Elzer. Ron married Jane Herfurth on October 5, 1986. They adopted their loving adopted daughter from Guatemala, Katelyn Suzanne, at the age of 8 months in July 1993. Ron is survived by wife, Jane, daughter Katelyn (and Jeff) Pantano (and granddog Nugget), sister Barbara (Joe) Elzer Michno, sister Linda Gullo, brother-in-law John Herfurth and several nieces and nephews; Dena, Kim, Jeff, Samantha, Jenna, Lucietta, Dominic, Tony, Deanna, Katharine and Mark. Ron was so looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild this summer. Ron was employed as a Quality Engineer at various local companies, beginning at Trico and retiring from Caplugs. 23673 | Ronald R. Malacarne, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on August 16, 2022 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Roman and Katherine (DeSantis) Malacarne; and the beloved husband of Patricia (DeLuke) Malacarne, who he married on October 17, 1964 at Prince of Peace Church. Ron was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and served in the United States Army, as well as the United States Army Reserves until his honorable discharge. He worked at Loblaws as a meat cutter for 10 years before completing his studies and training at the New York State Police Academy. Ron proudly served as a New York State Trooper, Sergeant and Narcotics Investigator for 24 years at the Lewiston Barracks and retired on March 25, 1991. He continued to stay active with the Police Benevolent Association. After his retirement, Ron joined Towne Buick as a car salesman for 15 years. He won salesman of the month numerous times and was also a Regional Sales award winner, earning a trip to Las Vegas at the Bellagio Hotel. He took great pride in his position, and was an honest, reliable salesman that treated his customers as family. He would go to great lengths to find the right car for his customers. Ron loved to be around the company of his family, and friends with a home cooked meal and a glass of wine. He was a very personable man who was an admirable story teller, and had the ability to make an entire room laugh with his sense of humor. He loved to golf, enjoyed his Sunday family dinners while watching the Bills, Yankees, and boxing matches with his late father-in-law, Peter J. DeLuke. Most of all, he enjoyed spending his winter months at his condominium in Ahwatukee, Arizona with his wife Patricia, his daughter Colleen Bosselli, her husband John Bosselli and in-laws Butch and Marsha Bosselli. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Ferrara) Vilardo. Ron graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1969 and later attended SUNY Geneseo. On November 26, 1977, he married Cathy V. (Certo) Vilardo at St. Teresa's Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Ron was employed for 43 years as a Sales Supervisor with Certo Brothers Distributors in Niagara Falls and Buffalo, NY, retiring in 2019. Ron was a longtime member of Niagara Frontier Country Club, a former coach and member of the Board of Directors for Whirlpool Park Little League, and the former Chairman of the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club Auction, as well as a member of the Pine Avenue Business Association. "Ronnie V" was an avid golfer, and loved laughing with his friends. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. Mae had a passion for cooking, particularly Italian dishes, and in her leisure time enjoyed walking and playing cards with her friends. Born in Pentone (Catanzaro), Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Riccardo and Rosina (Marino) Malfa. Rosario was raised in Italy, where he learned the stone masonry trade, and played professional soccer. He came to Canada in 1952. On October 2, 1954, he married Rose Marie (Perricelli) Malfa at St. Anne’s Church in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The couple came to Niagara Falls in 1955. Rosario was employed as a bricklayer with the Local #2 Union in Niagara Falls, NY, and later as a bricklayer, stone mason and foreman with the Bricklayer’s Union in Buffalo. He worked extensively with Scrufari Construction, Elia Construction, Sevenson and Malfa Construction, as well as for his good friend, Fr. Julio from the Fatima Shrine. He was extremely proud of the stone masonry that he completed around Niagara Falls, including churches, downtown venues, and large residential homes. Rosario was a member of the ISDA Power City Lodge and the Cristoforo Colombo Society. He enjoyed bowling in his younger years, and liked watching soccer, hockey, and football. Rose enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and close friends. She was well liked by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Rose is survived by her best friend and husband of 61 years, Louis Battino, who she married on March 17, 1956. She is also survived by her son Charles Battino and was the caring grandmother to Louis J. (Michelle) Battino and Angela R. 23691 | Rose G. Mantell, 79, passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Theodora (Russo) Vicario. Rose attended local schools in Buffalo and moved to Niagara Falls following her marriage to Samuel “Scorch” Mantell on June 2, 1956 at St. Paul Church in Kenmore, NY. Rose enjoyed playing the piano, as well as singing. She was also an avid dancer and loved playing scrabble. Mrs. Mantell also enjoyed spending the summer months at the family camp in the Leisurewood Community in Akron with friends and family. In addition to her cherished husband of 60 years, she is also survived by her loving daughters, Julie (Wayne) Evans, Doraine (late Robert “Bobby”) Gravanti; dear grandchildren Jamie Naus, Michael (Karen) Naus and Zachary Evans; adored great-grandchildren Jonathon Nelson, Emerson Naus and Isabelle Naus, as well as her devoted siblings, Charles (Candace) Vicario II, Gerri (Mark) Salay; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her loving boston terrier, Bruno, and brother-in-law Ronald (Martha) Mantell. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Giuliano) Destino. Rose was raised in Niagara Falls and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. On June 29, 1946, she married Anthony L. Figurilli at St. Joseph Church. Mr. Figurilli predeceased her on July 7, 1999. Rose was employed by Hooker Chemical Corporation as a secretary in the mid 1940’s. She was a member of the St. Joseph Church Senior Society. Rose’s hobbies included cooking, baking and gardening. Most of all, Rose centered her life around her family, and cherished the time spent together. Rose is survived by her children, Anthony J. (Sundy) Figurilli, Gerald J. (Debra) Figurilli, and Robert P. Figurilli; several grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. 23693 | Rose M. Bruno, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away at her residence on February 6, 2022. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Victoria (Lesiak) Siejka. Rose was a 1955 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School. She earned a degree from Niagara County Community College in Criminal Justice. She was employed as a secretary for the New York Power Authority and later worked in the Niagara County Family Court / Unified Court System as a Court Attendant for 23 years until her retirement in 2010. Rose was a force to be reckoned with. She was an early member of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and a longtime member of the Youngstown Rip and Stitch Quilt Club, where she spent many joyous hours with her closest friends. She also was an American history buff, enjoyed to travel with her sisters, was an avid golfer, and loved to garden. Rose is survived by her children, Victoria Kinan (Larry Geracitano II), Angela Bruno-Casal (Ray Casal), and Scott Bruno (Yvonne); her grandchildren, Amber Kinan, Larry Geracitano III, Patrick Lorenti (Kristine), Rosemarie Lorenti, Chantell Bruno, Anthony Bruno, and Joseph Bruno; her great grandchildren, Ashley Kinan, Keith Kinan, and John Kinan; her great-great grandchildren, Anthony and Alexander; her sisters, Maryann Pradelski, Patricia Chambers, and Victoria Siejka, as well as by several nieces, nephews and cousins. 23694 | Rose M. Lederhouse, of Pekin, NY, died Wednesday, August, 13, 2003, in Mount St. Mary's, Lewiston, NY, at the age of 80, after a short illness. She was a life long resident of Pekin, born on October 25, 1922, on the family farm, where she resided, the daughter of Michael and Julia Cindrich, where she attended local schools. She worked at the Carborundum, in production, before joining the United States Army, serving as a Wac, during World War II. After the war she returned to the Carborundum Company. Rose was later employed as a School Bus Driver for the Niagara Wheatfield Central School District, for 20 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Pekin Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and was Past President of the Niagara County Firemen Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Friends of Kenan Center Herb Club and the Cambria Historical Society. Rose enjoyed the spring the of years, when she could be out doors working in her many flower beds and gardens. Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Stanley Lederhouse; a daughter Deborah Lederhouse, of Lockport, NY; a son, Dennis [ Maryanne ] Lederhouse, of Sanborn, NY; five sisters, Mary Schimshack, of Lewiston, NY; Catherine Behnke, of North Tonawanda, NY; Mildred Dooley, of Pekin, NY; Frances Wiseman, of Niagara Falls, NY; Helen Knox, of Sanborn; a brother L. Martin Cindrich, of Pekin, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Ann Mittelstaedt and John Cindrich. 23695 | Rose M. Micale, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on December 21, 2021 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital due to COVID and after a courageous battle with Lymphoma. Born in San Pier Niceto, Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Franzi) Micale. At age 10, Rose moved with her family to Olean, NY. After 2 years, the family moved to Niagara Falls, NY where Rose attended local schools, graduating from Niagara Falls High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Niagara University in 1964 and later received her Master’s Degree from Buffalo State College. On July 11, 1964, Rose married Frank P. Micale at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. Rose taught English for 1 year at Niagara Wheatfield High School and later was a substitute for many years at Niagara Wheatfield, Prince of Peace and St. Joseph’s School. She was active at St. Vincent de Paul Parish and taught religious education. Rose enjoyed cooking and gardening and was a Bocce champ in the Niagara Falls Bocce League on women’s and mixed teams. She was also an avid volunteer for the Girl Scouts, ArtPark, and many other causes. Above all, Rose enjoyed family gatherings and her greatest joy was being with family. Rose wrote a treasured 300 page autobiography during her final two years. In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by her five children, Annette (Christopher) Pisarcik, Peter (Maria) Micale, Theresa (Frank) Abbruscato, Anthony (Christine) Micale and Michael (Rachel) Micale; ten grandchildren, Jonathan (fiancé Victoria), Rebecca (Nicholas), Nicole, Daniel, Amanda Rose (fiancé Taylor), Jessica, Angela, Allison Rose, Lucas and Noah; great granddaughter, Stella Rose and brothers Pat (Phyllis) Micale and Anthony (Kim) Micale as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rose loved working at Bonton in the Summit Park Mall and Liz Claiborne in the Niagara Falls Outlet for many years. She was very personable and made everyone feel as if they were part of her family. She was also a lover of animals, as well as the outdoors and nature. Mrs. Simone enjoyed baking and tending to her garden. Above all, Rose’s life was centered around her family, especially her grandchildren who have fond memories of arts and crafts, and ice cream at her home. Rose is survived by her children, Kari (Mark) Schmitt and Kathy Cafarella (Don Schultz); her step-children, Joseph F. (Lynn Metzger-Simone) Simone, II, and Sandra L. 23698 | Rose Margaret Mathew, 97, died on January 20, 2019 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. She was born on September 15, 1921 in Buck Creek, IN to the late George S. E. Brown and Margaret P. M. (Kingma) Brown. On October 12, 1940 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington, IN, she married Louis Mathew; he passed away on January 13, 2007. Rose and her family moved to Stockwell, IN when she was young, living there until the age of twelve, and then moved to Wolcott, IN, where she had lived for 84 years. She moved into the White Oak Health Campus two years ago. Rose was the oldest of eleven children. She was a 1939 graduate of Wolcott High School. Rose was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was also a member of the Rosary and Altar Society of the church. She was also a member of the St. Joseph Church in Reynolds and was a past president of the former Tippecanoe Country Club Ladies Golf Association in Monticello. Rose and her late husband were dairy farmers of the Wolcott area from the beginning of their marriage. They spent many great times with all their family and also enjoyed happy hour at the Country Inn. Rose was very devout in her faith and had a special devotion to the Sacred Heart, St. Therese and the Rosary. She loved all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was interested in all of their activities. The family wishes to give special thanks to Randy Bell for all the fish dinners, Carmen Anker for all the newsy notes, and all the staff at the White Oak Health Campus in Monticello, IN. Rose is survived by three children; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother; four sisters; two brother-in-laws; six sister-in-laws; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins and friends. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Cinda (Alfonse) Vanoni. Rose was employed at the Carborundum Company as the manager of the printing department for many years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Niagara Frontier County Club and was an avid golfer. Rose also enjoyed playing tennis, bowling and was instrumental in forming the Hyde Park Bocce League. Rose loved playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She was also very artistic and loved creating the signage for the numerous parties throughout the country club and bocce league. Rose was affectionally known as Sitsie to her nieces and nephews, as well as the children of the Niagara Day Care Center, where she volunteered for many years. She was cherished by countless infants and toddlers who looked forward to her playing Santa Clause annually. Mrs. Romano is survived by her niece, Renee (Michael) Monaco and her nephew, David (Jacqueline) Vanoni; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Joey, Michael, Gina, Joanna, Louis, Vincent, Daniella, David, Pauly and Lee Anna, as well as many great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
