Miss Virginia Sands was at the organ. William Newman sang "I Love You Truly," and "Because." Gown of Satin and Lace The bride wore a strapless gown of white Chantilly lace with a hip length jacket of white slipper satin made with long pointed sleeves and a Cathedral length train. Her finger tip veil of French illusion was edged with Chantilly lace and fell from a helmet of pleated satin and lace. She carried white orchids on a prayer book with streamers ,of white sweet peas. The matron of honor, Mrs. Clarence Stevens of Corning, sister of the bride, wore blue lace and net oyer white satin. She carried a blue net fan with white and pink roses and sweet peas. She wore blue lace mitts and a picture hat. The bridesmaids were Miss Peggy Vonada of Batavia and Miss Joan Hoffman of Akron, NY, a cousin of the bride. Each was gowned in blue' lace and. net over blue satin and carried blue net fans with pink sweet peas and roses. They wore blue mitts and matching picture hats. Robert J. Bahr of Syracuse was best man. Richard Reeks of Latham and Howard Beardmore of this city were ushers. The wedding reception was held at the parlors of the church. The bride's mother received in a taupe gown with accesories of taupe and white. The mother, of the bridegroom wore green jersey. Each had a corsage of orchids. The couple will spend a week on the New England coast, after which they will motor through the southern states. The bride was graduated from the New York State College for Teachers, Albany, in 1948 and did graduate work in the field of guidance. She taught commercial subjects at Springfield Central School, East Springfield. She is a member of the United Business Education association. The' bridegroom is a graduate o f Nott Terrace high school, Union College, class of 1948, and has done graduate work In electrical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he is now an Instructor in the electrical engineering department. Jackson Nelson of Elmwood avenue. Gloversville RD. the pilot, and William C. Uebele of Hoffmeister. Hamilton county, a passenger, were killed when the light private plane they were in crashed approximately one mile east of the Fulco airiport, near Johnsown, at 10:30 a.m.- Saturday Continuing... Mr. Uebele, 33, was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Utica and spent most of his life in Hoffmeister. In 1952, he was married to the Barbara Caldwell Uebele in Poland. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Uebele was a foreman in the maintenance section of the state highway department in Hamilton county. Survivors, in addition to his wife, are one son, William C. Uebele, at home; two daughters. She had a long successful career in the hospitality industry. She was director of security at Sirata Beach Resort for 20 years until her retirement. Most considered her the best manager of people they ever worked with. Joyce loved traveling, backyard bird watching and noir movies. She was an avid crafter, had a unique style of decorating and a green thumb. Joyce was the beloved wife of husband Jeffrey, who survives her. She was born October 23, 1902, in St Marys, daughter of the late John and Frances Meyer Bucheit. On June 27, 1927, in the St. Joseph's Church, in Warren, she mar- ried Benedict H. Hoffman, who precded her in death on February 11, 1987. Mrs. Hoffman was a life- long resident of the area and attended St. Marys Parochial schools and St.. Benedict's Academy. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, and wa one of the first resi- dents of Elk Towers. She was also a member of the St.. Ann's Society, Benedictine Obates and the C.D. of A. She is survived by two daughters, Sister Jane Fran- cis, O.S.B., of the St. Joseph's Monastery, and Patricia McDaniel of Nicevie, FL; a son, Benedict M. Hoffman of DeFuniak Springs, FL; five grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. Mr. Schul served in the Navy during World War II. An active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its choir, he enjoyed singing, golf, bowling, raising canaries and gardening. Mr. Schul was a member of the Retired Men's Chorus, golf and bowling leagues and the International Canary Society. He retired from Union Carbide Corp. as a machinist in the late 1980s.
