She was the beloved wife of the late Edward H. Rychel; and the beloved mother of Marianne (Joseph) Rychel of Glenmont, NY, Edward R. (Michelle) Rychel of Peoria, AZ, and the late Paul E. Rychel. She is survived by her grandchildren, Daniel P. Conophy, Dr. Jennifer Conophy, Nina Rychel and Noah Rychel. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many great neighbors and friends who were a large part of her life. Contento at Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls. Shirley began working for the Niagara Falls Board of Education for 10 years prior to becoming the Account Clerk at Niagara University. She later retired from Niagara County Community College after many years. Shirley enjoyed reading, as well as traveling. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by her sons, Anthony (Mone) Contento and Joseph F. (Catherine) Contento Jr; her grandchildren, William Contento, Olivia Contento, Dominic Contento, Sophia Contento and Ella Contento, her sister, Mary (late Eugene) Jackson, and many nieces and nephews. She met the love of her life, the late Eugene Linderman and they were married on August 11, 1960. They shared a beautiful home in Lockport where they had three wonderful children. She worked many jobs throughout her life but the most important to her was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her younger years you could catch Shirley at the local bowling alley with her “League Peaches”, or on the dance floor with her husband. When at home she was on her porch feeling the breeze and listening to her windchimes. When everyone came over “R Zee Bee” was the best place to catch some shade. She loved her cats throughout the years, enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, and going for rides.Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Eugene, son, Michael, daughter, Lori Hollenbeck and grandson, Louis Hollenbeck. 24163 | Shirley Ulrich Miller, age 95, formerly of Lewiston, died Monday July 24, 2017 in the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center in Delmar, NY, after a long illness. Shirley was born October 20, 1921 in Niagara Falls, NY. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School in Buffalo where she also attended business school. Shirley was a partner with her father in their drugstore, Ulrich's on Third Street in the Falls. As an artist, she later took on a career in commercial art doing signs and newspaper advertisements. On October 8, 1948 she married Budd Glenn Miller. She left work to raise a family with Budd and in 1967 they brought their family to Lewiston where her family had lived since the early 1800's. Shirley was always the one in charge at her house knowing not just how to take care of things inside but outside as well. She was as handy with a screwdriver and hammer as she was with a computer keeping track of her finances and family with her notebook or iPad. In her youth, she loved skiing and horseback riding. In her later years, she and Budd took to vegetable gardening in a big way growing more than they or their neighbors could eat. Once with seeds provided by her brother-in-law, she and Budd grew a pumpkin weighing over 300 lbs. She was one of two children born to the late William and Nellie (Robinson) Ulrich. Her brother Eugene Ulrich passed away in 2008. She was the beloved wife of her husband Budd who predeceased her in 2002 for over fifty years. She is survived by her sons, Robert G. (Jo-Ann) Miller of Delmar, NY and David D. (late Zoe) Miller of Killeen, TX; her grandchildren, Robert Kopenski, Emilie, Benjamin, Jane, and Tanya Miller; her great grandchildren, Ethan A. Born in Wayland, NY, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Lucille (Schumbehl) Price. Shirleyann moved to the Niagara Falls area as a young child with her family. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On April 24, 1965 she married Neil R. Jarvis at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Jarvis predeceased her on November 3, 2011. For thirty years, Shirleyann worked at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY as a nurse’s aid and later on as a surgical prep assistant until her retirement. She was a long time devoted member of St. Leo’s Church in the Town of Niagara. Above all Shirleyann was devoted to her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and will be remembered for her generosity and giving heart. 24171 | Shown in 1930 census as Schreader in Town of Cambria 1 August 1940 Tonawanda News Farmer Accidentally Falls Into Well and Is Drowned Adolph Schroeder, Well Known Upper Mountain Road Resident, Believed to Have Been Seized with Dizzy Spell; Straw Hat Leads to Discovery of Body Believed to have been seized with a dizzy spell, Adolph Schroeder, 54, fell into a well on his farm on the Upper Mountain road, a short distance west of the Baker hill, early yesterday afternoon, and drowned. It was not until several hours later that the fate of the man was learned. The discovery of his straw hat, floating on the surface of the water in the well, led to the location of his body. Following lunch yesterday, several farmhands, employed by Mr. Schroeder, left for the fields on the farm to resume work. Their employer promised to follow as soon as he watered the horses to be used in working the crops. When several hours passed and Mr. Schroeder failed to appear, search was instituted for him. With the location of the body, Coroner J. E. Helwig was summoned. The sheriff's office in Lockport was notified and deputies were detailed to take the body from the well. Mr. Schroeder's watch stopped at 12:45 o'clock, indicating that he fell into the well at that time. Dr. Helwig had the body removed to Pike's mortuary in Sanborn to be prepared for burial. Mr. Schroeder was one of the best known farmers on the Upper Mountain road. He is survived by a daughter, Margaret, at home. Mr. Schroeder lived with a brother, John, besides his daughter. Sid was born April 22, 1945 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late William H. and Frances M. (Ellis) Jeffery. He was a 1964 graduate of Wilson High School and July 24, 1965 he married Carol (Averell) Jeffery. Sid owned and operated Averell Farms in Cambria for 30 years, retiring in 2000. For the last 10 years he assisted his son, Michael, in the operating of the Jeffery Machine Shop. Sid loved NASCAR racing. He was the crew chief for the Greg Martin #4 Sportsman Race Team for many years. Sid was a member and Past President of the Niagara County Motorcycle Club and enjoyed motorcycle endurance racing. He also enjoyed hunting and playing in the Cambria Poker League where he was the 2015 champion. In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by three sons, Michael (Jodie), Shawn, and Kyle (Nicol) Jeffery; his grandchildren, Greg, Kayla, Alex, Tristan, and Emily; two sisters, Janis Faery and Suzi (Don) McGinnis; and a brother, Tim Jeffery (Patty Diez). Willa, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, fought a courageous, four-year battle with cancer. She is now at peace. Willa was born to this earthly dwelling on Oct. 21, 1925, and has now gone to the Lord with her arms open wide. Willa filled her life with people. She was selfless and hardworking, a very special lady who dedicated her life to helping others. Willa married Robert Haseley , the love of her life, in April 1946. They lived in Niagara Falls, N.Y., where she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and worked as a secretary at Colonial Village Elementary School in Lewiston, N.Y. In 1963, Willa and her family moved to Simi Valley. In 1964, she became a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Simi Valley, where she held positions as a Sunday school teacher and assistant minister, and was on the Altar Guild, among many other commitments. She was a board member at Good Shepherd Lutheran School and worked as a secretary and receptionist at Simi Valley High School. As busy as her life was, she still found time to volunteer at Luther's Attic in Moorpark and was treasurer of chapter 55 of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a life member of Lewiston Fire Co. No. 2 Auxiliary. Willa is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert Haseley ; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Diana; foster children, Jennifer Rudnitzki and Duane Griffin; grandson, Christopher; great-grandson, Ethan Duarte Haseley ; brother, Paul Fairbanks of Florida; sisters, Frieda Hutton of Pennsylvania, Jean Cannaby (husband Steve) of Kansas, and Stephanie Hisler (husband Brian) of Pennsylvania; and sister-in-law, Leah Cairns of Arizona. Snider, Jr.; six grandchildren: Bradley and Matthew Gunn, Carolyn (Matthew) Russo, Andrea Alli and Daniel and Bradley Snider; three great-grandchildren Abigail and Samantha Gunn and Nicholas Russo. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ellen (Tony) Alli, who passed on May 11, 2015 and her sister, Genevieve (late Edmund) King.
