Born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 9, 1936; son of the late John P. and Ada (Davis) Fotus. John attended Union Springs High School, in Union Springs, NY, and served in the United States Army, 82nd. Airborne Division from 1954-1957, of which he was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, and the Parachutist Badge. John was employed at the Carborundum Company, and then Harrison Radiator as a Millwright, retiring in October 1999. He was a life long member of The Bridge Assembly of God, in Niagara Falls, where he served as an usher and van driver. Hobbies and interests included cars, woodworking, gardening, and carpentry.Survivors include his loving wife, Naomi Mary (Heisner) Fotus, whom he married October 25, 1955; a daughter, Lynne Joan LaVerdi (Nunzio) of Bergholz; a sister, Sally Glifton of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Ammie Fotus, Samantha (Alex) Soloman, John T. Fotus, Matthew Mettler, Sarah Brennan, Andrew Iorfida, Rachelle (Adam) Fleming, Brittany (Kirk) Lubecki, and Rebecca Haseley; a daughter in law, Noel Fotus; and several great-grandchildren. 27752 | LAWRENCE P. PFOHL, age 82 of Sanborn, New York, entered into rest unexpectedly on April 11, 2024 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on May 30, 1941; son of the late Gustav and Anna (Mueller) Pfohl. Larry graduated from Trott Vocational High School, and served in the United States Army. He was employed as an electrician at Saint Gobain, in Niagara Falls, for approximately thirty years, retiring in 2007. Larry was a life long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he had served as a trustee and elder. He was also a member of the American Legion in Sanborn. Larry enjoyed the outdoors and liked fishing in Lake Ontario and Quebec, Canada, and going deer hunting at his camp in Friendship, New York. Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Gray) Pfohl, whom he married June 17, 1967; two children, Jennifer (William) Baird, and Kevin (Gina) Pfohl; a brother, Walter (Patricia) Pfohl; and five grandchildren, Blair Pfohl, Jack, Lily and Sadie Baird, and Lola Pfohl.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Monday - April 15 from 4-7 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Wife of the late Harold W. (Mac) McDaniel who died in 1978. Mother of Keith (Janet) McDaniel, Mary Frances McDaniel and Kelli Ann McDaniel, Grandma Mac to Brian (Valen) McDaniel, Lisa (Jim) Judge and Michele (Chris) Caruana and Nana to Matthew (Rachael) Carlson and Cody Diaz and 10 great grandchildren, Maria, Derek, Benjamin, Silas, Theodore, Willow, Oliver, Matthew Jr., Griffin and one on the way. Daughter of the late Gaetano and Maria Bartolomei and sister of the late Ceasar Bartolomei, Frances Stickney, Orlando (late Vivian) Bartolomei and Manna (late John) Prebeg. Also many nieces and nephews. Louise was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School. She was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a volunteer at St. Francis Clothes Closet. Louise had been employed at Parsons Drug Store for 37 years where she met her husband Mac. She also spent 20 years working at Forest Lawn Cemetery and she committed it's rich history to her memory and enjoyed sharing it with those around her. Louise was fond of the color blue, telling a good joke, playing Bingo, Bobby Vinton, Tom Jones and cats which was clearly evident by her home decor and sweatshirt collection. Louise will be remembered for organizing Lepeirs Drive block parties and her puzzle assembly skills but mostly for her strength and determination, her loving and caring nature and above all her love of family. There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Prayer Service and placement of cremains on Wednesday August 21, 2024 at 11:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi RC Chapel, 71 Adam St., City of Tonawanda. Born October 11, 1926 in Medina, he was the son of Battista and Jennie (Ferri) Reale. He served in the US Coast Guard from 1943-1944, the US Navy from 1944-1946, and the Navy Reserves from 1946-1950. Felix worked at E&M Enterprises from 1950-1951 and from there worked 39 ½ years at Bell Aerospace retiring in 1991. He also worked for Scalzo Brothers as well. Felix is survived by his wife of 70 years, Frances (Bucolo) Reale; children Jennine Blackley, John (Robin) Reale, Daniel (Kim) Reale, and Phillip Reale; grandchildren Michelle (Chris) Glynn, Michael Blackley, Joseph Reale, Christine (Jason) Weibel, Jenny (Tony) Stella, and Nicholas Reale; great grandchildren Natalie Wagner, Lillian Weibel, Jamison Weibel, Isabella Stella, Jenson Stella, Anthony Stella, Christopher Glynn Jr., and Isabelle Glynn; also several nieces and nephews. James worked for General Motors for 44 years, the past 13 years at GM Powertrain in Tonawanda as a Tow motor Operator. He enjoyed hunting, garage sales and spending time with his family. James is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan (nee Rohring) McCoy; father of Kenneth (Carrie) McCoy, Wesley (Kayley Smith) McCoy and Matthew McCoy; grandfather of Christian, Caiden and Kendra. 27757 | STELLA'S OBITUARY Stella (Golba) Hopkins, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, while receiving care from Niagara Hospice and Wheatfield Commons. She was 99. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on April 24, 1922, a daughter of the late Michael and Zofiao (Krzyskowski) Golba. Mrs. Hopkins was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed every minute spent with those she loved. She enjoyed cooking, watching the Food Network and the occasional game of bingo. Many attendees of the former LaSalle Junior High School will remember her as their favorite lunch aide. She worked there for nearly ten years. She was predeceased by her husband, Norris Hopkins in January of 2000; two daughters, Karen Rybarczyk and Nancy Hopkins; siblings, John; Edward; Zygmunt and Joseph Golba; Bernice Stacey; Helen Kenny and Angela Kozdranski. She is survived by a son, Curtis Michael (Connie) Hopkins of Florida and a daughter, Noreen (Ricky) Shank of Niagara Falls; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. 27758 | “Devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother” With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear devoted mother, Alice C. (Née Gordon) Haseley. She went to be with the Lord, and our father Raymond, the love of her life, on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Born on September 22, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Harrott) Gordon. Alice was born in the city of Niagara Falls, where as a young girl, she was employed at Belbot’s and worked in the accounting department for her aunt and uncle, Alice and Walter Belbot. In 1946, she married our father, Raymond E. Haseley. They moved from the city out to the country on Lockport Road, where they raised 13 children, in addition to her younger brother, Gary Gordon. Although a full house, family and friends were always welcome. She gave true meaning to the saying, “enter as friends and leave as family.” Her sweetness and kindness to everyone who entered our home will always be remembered. She truly exhibited the most abundant love to all and found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s activities. Alice was a lifelong and active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, until its closing. She joined St. James Lutheran Church, and became a member of the church community. Alice was also a member of Ladies Home Bureau, and in her younger years, enjoyed bowling.
