Billy J. Martin, age 86, of North Tonawanda, September 14, 2016, In Northgate Health Care Facility under the care of Niagara Hospice. Mr. Martin was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and served in Korea; he was a member of the New York State and National “Chosin Few.” He was a former employee of National Grinding Wheel. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Martinsville Golf League for 35 years. He was the husband of the late Jean R. (Wiegand) Martin. Dear father of Suzanne (William) Beamish of Rochester, Cheryl (Daniel) Eberl and Gregory (Nancy) Martin both of Tonawanda. Grandfather of Sarah, Jessica, Kelly, Amy, Kaitlyn, David, Jason, and Samantha; great-grandfather of 8 great-grandchildren. Brother of Monta Lu Renfro, Laura Alice Gallett and the late Dale, Bob and Kenneth Martin. 3704 BILLY L. SILVIS SR., age 89, entered into rest on January 15, 2019 at the Elderwood at Cheektowaga facility. Born in Brookville, Pennsylvania on August 22, 1929; son of the late Bert and Sara (Lucas) Silvis. Billy is a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1948-1952. He was employed at General Motors Powertrain plant in Tonawanda, New York and retired as an inspector. Billy was a member of the American Legion Tonawanda Post 264, enjoyed working with electronics, and was a sports fan. 
Survivors include three children, Mary (Lewis) Burgio, Billy (Becky) Silvis Jr., and Larry (Lynn) Silvis; five brothers and sisters, Sally (Don) Ziegler, Donna Barger, Albert (Lorraine) Silvis, Gene (Tillie) Silvis, and Laddie Silvis; six grandchildren, Keith, Billy III, Katie, Michael, Justin, and Shelby; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kelly; two sisters, Flo Gaunt, and Lillian Kunselman; and a brother, Jim Silvis.
Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Saturday (January 19) from 4:00-7:30 p.m. Services will follow at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Tabor, officiating. Entombment will take place in Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

ington and Mrs. Jessie W. Dunham
of Scotia; three brothers, Arthur
of Gloversville, Walter of Fre-
donia and Edward Bloor of Sara-
toga Springs and a sister, Miss
Georgiana Bloor of Washington.
Mrs. Warren lived in Sidney
about thirty-five years ago. Her
husband died in Sidney and was
buried here.

to live with their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James
Weeks.

and daughter are a son, William

Henry L. Buddenhagen, 77, a well
known resident of the Hancock
area, passed away at 9:00 p. m.,
Tuesday, October 8, 1957, in a Bing-
hamton Hospital where he had been
a patient for eight and one-half
months. Until illness forced him
to cease working, Mr. Buddenhagen
had been a progressive farmer and
woodsman, having operated a farm
on the Winterdale, Pa., Road since
1907. He was born on August 22,
1880, in Narrowsburg, a son of the
late Fredrich and Johanna (Vicker)
Buddenhagen. He came to Han-
cock, to reside in 1905. On Febru-
ary 19, 1907, in Binghamton, he
was united in marriage to Miss
Martha Mallery and they began
housekeeping in the home on the
Winterdale Road.,. Besides his wife,
Mr. Buddenhagen is survived by
four sons and three daughters, Wal-
ter, Lester, and Wilson of Schenec-
tady and Henry of West Palm
Beach, Florida; also Mrs. Ruth
Graham, Troy; Mrs. Viola Camp-
bell, Yonkers; Mrs. Irene DuMond,
Hancock, and Mrs. Ethel Peterson,
Schenectady. Also surviving are
17 grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren. Mr. Buddenhagen
was a member of the Hancock Bap-
tist Church and his funeral will be
held there at 1:00 p. m., Saturday,
October 12, with the pastor, the
Rev. Lloyd I. Elliott, officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Ceme-

Bernice May (Richner) Kephart, longtime resident of Niagara Falls passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She was 81. She was born in West Decatur, Pennsylvania on May 8, 1933, a daughter of the late Ivan “Rick” and Ora (Yarger) Richner. She attended Pennsylvania schools and graduated from Philipsburg High School. She married Roy C. Kephart in 1955 and together they moved to Niagara Falls.
Mrs. Kephart worked as a clerk at Thruway Fasteners until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed bingo but her greatest joy was her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Roy C. Kephart, her two sons: Roy Joseph (Patricia) Kephart of Tonawanda and Brian L. (Karen) Kephart of Erie, Colorado; 5 grandchildren: Jennifer (Terry) Attea, Michael Kephart, Ryan (Chelsea) Kephart, Chris Kephart and LeeAnne Marie Kephart. She is also survived by her sister Mildred Kline of Wheatfield. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings Iva Baughman and Glenn Richner.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Sunday from 2-5 PM where funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM. Burial will be private in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston.

Della M. Lamar



Della Margaret Lamar, age 84, of Lewiston, was called home to be with the Lord on January 20th, 2016, at her home surrounding by her loving family. Born in Irvona, Pennsylvania on May 2nd, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Singleton and Anna (Rebar) Bloom. Della was predeceased by her loving husband, Blair, in 1991. Della was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest accomplishment she told us was her four children whom she was very proud of. Della was a longtime member of Colonial Village Presbyterian Church and in her last years attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with family. She served at Colonial Village Presbyterian as Deacon, Women’s Association and the first female Elder. Della loved and enjoyed camping with her family for over 50 years.



Survivors include her four children, Linda (Jack) Perman of Lutz, Florida, Gary (Pam) Lamar of Medina, Richard Sr. (Tammy) Lamar of Lewiston, and Brenda (Timothy) Walck of Sanborn; her sister Alta Johnsonof Niagara Falls; sister-in-law Ardith (Walter) Conrad of Lewiston; ten grandchildren, Melissa (Nathaniel) Streiff, Matthew (Brittney) Lamar, Michael (Olivia Gilman) Lamar, Jason (Audrey Mokdad) Perman, Jennifer (Carlos) Forlini, Samantha Lamar, Richard Lamar Jr., Dillon Walck, Reanna Walck, Cory Walck; and four great-grandchildren Jeremy Konoski, Nicholas Streiff, Benjamin Streiff and Gavin Lamar. She was predeceased by two brothers, Clair Bloom, Roy Christy, and four sisters Blanch Jones, Jean Moeller, Carrie Matthews and Alva Shaffer.



Visitation will be on Friday, January 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Village Presbyterian Church, 4813 Kline Road, Town of Lewiston. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.

Betty L. (Kurtenbach) Blake, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. She was 89. She was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on February 3, 1929, a daughter of Peter and Laurette (Rowe) Kurtenbach. She attended schools in South Dakota and California and then was the electronics manager at Viatran on Grand Island for 23 years until her retirement in 2000.

Mrs. Blake is survived by four children: Darell (Joanna) Blake, Richard Blake, Bruce (Cathy) Blake and Wallace (Carol) Blake, Jr. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Betty was the wife of the late Wallace Blake, Sr. and the dearest friend of John DiLaura. There will be no services. Patricia “Pat” (nee Collins) (Bulka) Cascio, formerly of Niagara Falls and most recently of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2015 after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was 74. She was born in Niagara Falls on May 4, 1940, a daughter of the late Felix and Dorothy (Cole) Collins. She attended local schools and lived in Niagara Falls until she relocated to Niantic, Connecticut in 1989. She lived in Niantic with the love of her life and her many friends she cherished. She was an active part of church in every city in which she lived. She enjoyed many hobbies including crocheting, making homemade cards to send to her loved ones, knitting hats and scarves for the underprivileged, swimming and gardening. Pat was admired by many and will be forever missed by her family and friends who cherished her presence.
Pat is survived by her 6 children: Peter (Barbara) Bulka, Joseph (Saundra) Bulka, Steve (Noelle) Bulka, Kathleen (Carmen) Cianchetti, Barbara (John) Austin and Patricia (John) Kaler. She is also survived by her three sisters: Mary (late Richard) Clute, Maureen "Micky" (Karl) Schwenkbeck, Marge Collins, 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband Charlie Cascio (2007), her son John Bulka, Sr. (1997), her granddaughter Jamie Bulka (2001) and her former husband Peter P. Bulka (1994).
There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10 A.M. at St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston.

A pioneer builder who had erected
many well-known public buildings
in the city, Carl Steinbrenner,
died yesterday at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. .William G. Smale,
4843 Lewiston road.
Mr. Steinbrenner was born in
Wittenberg. Germany, July 2, 1839.
He was educated in the public
schools and early in life learned the
carpentry trade. In 1880 he migrated
to this country.
Settling in the old Suspension
Bridge section of the city he found
employment in his trade, which he
followed until 1892 when he established
a planning mill and lumber
yard on the site of the present
North Junior high school. He conducted
this enterprise for a number
of years.
Among his building projects were
the Zion Lutheran church, Michigan
avenue, of which he was a charter
member, and the First Baptist
church, Main street, two fire halls,
the Highland avenue and Third
street ones, the Crick Block. Third
street school, the Permanent Savings
and Loan Association building,
as well as several other major
business places.
" H e Was active In public affairs
and served under the administration
of Philip J. Keller as a member of
the Board of Public Works. He
was a charter member of the Exempt
Firemen's association.
Surviving are two sons, Carl and
Frank Steinbrenner, two daughters,
Mrs. J. P. Deringer and Mrs. William
G. Smale, five grandchildren
and five great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held
at the home Saturday at 2 p.m.
with the Rev. Arthur Schmoyer officiating.
