Mrs. Mueller is survived by her husband of 62 years, Norman A.; two sons, Frederick of Camarillo, Calif., and Donald of Moon Township, Pa.; a daughter, Carolyn Root of Alamogordo, NM; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was 92. The former Ann Kudlek had worked as a teletype operator at Fort Niagara in Youngstown. Mrs. Benz was an active member of Wheatfield Senior Citizens and Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where she participated in the Ladies Aid Society. She was also a member of the Auxiliary of Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion, and served as president of the residents' council of Wheatfield Towers, where she lived for 21 years. Born Florence Lemke in North Tonawanda, she attended local schools. She worked at the Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls for 15 years before her retirement and was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz. She enjoyed traveling and activities at the Wheatfield Senior Citizens Center, according to her son, Richard Lemke of North Tonawanda. Her husband of many years, William, died in 1981. Besides her son, survivors include a brother, Wallace Lemke of Wheatfield; three sisters, Naomi Kreppenneck of Cambria and Betty Ernst and Alice Lewis, both of Wheatfield; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. "Corky" Klettke , 72, an active member of the Bergholz Fire Company until his death, died Tuesday (April 18, 2000) in his home while under the care of Niagara Hospice. He was the founder of Klettke Land Surveyors and a member of the Niagara Frontier Land Surveyors Association. Klettke was born in Niagara Falls. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War, and was a charter member of the Navy Seabees Veterans of America Island X-8, North Tonawanda. A member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, he had served as vice chairman, chairman, trustee, elder and membership chairman of the Lutheran Laymen's League. Klettke was a member of the Fire Police of the Bergholz Fire Company and a member of the Niagara County Fire Police Association. Klettke participated in the Bergholz Bowling League for 45 years and was a member of the Wheatfield American Legion Horseshoe League for about 12 years. He also enjoyed traveling. Friday in Oakwood Cemetery, 763 Portage Road. Orr, 78, died Saturday (Aug. 12, 1995) in his home on Maple Avenue after an illness of four months. A native of Niagara Falls, he was a 1934 graduate of Niagara Falls High School, where he was on the varsity swim team and was a member of Sigma Psi social fraternity. He was a 1938 graduate of Cornell University and received his law degree there in 1940. While in college, Orr was business manager of the Cornell humor magazine, a member of the senior honor society and a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon social fraternity. He was admitted to the State Bar in 1940 and was an associate of the law firm of Wallace, Orr, Brydges & Suitor from 1940 to 1945; an associate of Wallace, Orr & Wilcox from 1945 to 1946; a partner of Orr, Brydges & Orr, later Orr, Brydges, Orr & Dowd and The Orr Partnership from 1946 to 1986. He retired from the general practice of law in 1986. Orr enlisted as a private in 1940 in the 209th Coast Artillery (anti-aircraft) of the New York National Guard and he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army in 1941 at Camp Stewart, Ga. He was stationed at Fort Pepperrell in Newfoundland from 1942 to 1945, when he was discharged with the rank of captain. He was a member of the Falls Bar Association, Niagara Falls Legal Aid Society, Niagara Falls Lions Club, Niagara Falls Boys Club, Family and Children's Service of Niagara Falls and the Oakwood Cemetery Association. Orr was a treasurer of the Niagara Falls Chapter of the American Red Cross, a director of the United Way of Niagara, secretary of the board of governors of Niagara Falls Country Club, chairman of the Erie and Niagara County Advisory Committee of Ticor Title Guarantee County, a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. He was a former licensee of amateur radio station W2OWQ and holder of an amateur radio advanced class operators license. He was a communications officer for the Niagara Falls Civil Defense Agency. Born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on January 7, 1918 to Philip and Augusta (Wolf) Mueller. He is a US Army veteran, serving from 1942-45, in which he was a flight instructor with the WW II Training Service. He was employed as a machine tender by Kimberly Clark, (later changing it's name to Cellu, then Nitec) in Niagara Falls for 47 years retiring in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling, and doing taxidermy. A member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church & Sunday School class in Walmore, where he is also a past trustee. He was united in marriage to Lydia S. Devantier on Feb 15, 1941, and their marriage was blessed with three children, Frederick (Gloria) Mueller of Camarillo, CA, Donald (Tillie) Mueller of Moon Township, PA, Carolyn Root of Tulerosa, NM, six grandchildren, Kristen, James, Kim, Jason, Jerad, Nathan, three great grandchildren, Gavin, Jacob, and Emma Grace and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers, Paul, Henry, Mark, Albert, and Daniel and two sisters, Louise Beutel & Helen Mueller. Walck was born in Wheatfield and attended St. James School in Bergholz. Before becoming a farmer, he worked as a machinist in Niagara Falls for 14 years. Most of his working years were spent operating farms in the Town of Niagara, Pendleton and Cambria. Among cash crops he harvested were wheat, corn, oats and hay. Walck moved to the health care facility three years from his home in Cambria. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn, where he served as an elder and trustee. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and Niagara County Extension. He and his wife of 59 years, Frances Haseley Walck, enjoyed spending winters in Florida. She died in 1994. Walck also had enjoyed hunting on land he owned in northern Pennsylvania. Klettke, 93, of Stoelting Street and formerly of Lewiston, died Friday (Dec. 22, 1989) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. A native of Lydda, ILl., he moved to Niagara County 77 years ago. He served in the Army during World War I. Klettke was a licensed land surveyor for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for 45 years until he retired in 1961. He also founded Klettke Land Surveyors in Bergholz. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Niagara Falls and the Niagara Mohawk Pioneers Club. His wife, the former Ida M. Kanehl, died in 1978. Survivors include a daughter, Florence Nevelson of Bridgeport, Conn.; a son, Ivan R. Klettke; two brothers, Walter G. Klettke of Sheboygan, WI., and Richard W. 4096 | Buffalo News, The (NY) - December 28, 1999 Viola L. Milleville, 92, died Sunday (Dec. 26, 1999) in Schoellkopf Health Center, Niagara Falls, after a brief illness. She had been a patient there for the past few months. Born Viola Haseley in the Town of Niagara, she worked for a few years at the Nabisco Shredded Wheat plant in Niagara Falls as a biscuit packer before marrying Carl J. Milleville on Oct. 16, 1927. They operated a dairy farm, which is still run today by their son and grandsons. Her husband died in 1974. Mrs. Milleville was a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens and loved to crochet, make quilts and travel. Survivors include her son, Wilbert; three daughters Elva Walck, Jean St. John and Lois Bush, all of Sanborn; 16 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Mrs. Voelker was employed by the Niagara Wheatfield School District as a bus driver for about 25 years, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed gardening and refinishing furniture.
