LOCKPORT — Betty Wintersteen Donald passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born January 19, 1920, in East Liverpool, OH, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Olive Dell Wintersteen. Her family moved to Lockport in 1932, where she attended school, graduating from Lockport Senior High School in 1938. She worked in various places before WWII, including Simonds, Saw and Steel and Carborundum Co., in Niagara Falls. She later went to work and retired from Dr. Fricke, MD. In 1946, she met and married William Donald of Sanborn, who passed away in 1989.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Donald) Sullivan of Lockport; her grandsons, Eric (Robin) Sullivan and Todd (Toni) Sullivan. Betty was the great-grandmother of Eric, Morgan and Megan Sullivan. She was the sister of Charles D. (Mary) Wintersteen of Lockport and the late Barbara W. Depew.

A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date. Inurnment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Pkwy., Amherst, NY 14228, would be appreciated by the family.

LEWISTON — Margaret (Archbold) Netzer, 89, of Wheatfield, NY, formerly of 93rd Street, Niagara Falls, NY, entered her heavenly home Saturday, December 3, 2011, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, NY. Born March 29, 1922 in Niagara Falls, NY, the eldest daughter of George and Kathleen (Kinnahan) Archbold, who are registered in the Ellis Island (Irish) immigrant Wall of Honor.

Mrs. Netzer graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1940 and also attended classes at the University of Cincinnati, OH. She worked briefly in the payroll department at Carborundum Corporation in Niagara Falls, before moving to Washington, D.C., where she began working for the United States Army War Department at the Pentagon. She relocated to Cincinnati, OH, continuing to work for the Personnel Division of the War Department, for approximately three years. Margaret transferred to Fort Niagara Personnel Dept. in Lewiston, where she worked until its closing, and at which time she began working for the Veterans Administration Office in Niagara Falls, NY.

Margaret married Thomas C. Netzer on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1947 at St. Teresa's Church, Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Netzer predeceased her in June 2006 after 58 great years of marriage. Mrs. Netzer created a comfortable, well-run home, and was blessed with a close and caring family. She loved spending time with her friends, but focused most of her time with her great family.

Margaret volunteered at the VA Western NY Health Care Center for 22 years, in the emergency and administration office as a Red Cross worker. She was a member and past officer of the Altar & Rosary Society and the Mother's Club of Prince of Peace Church, and also a member of Senior Citizens of St. John de LaSalle Church. Margaret was active in the CFM-Christian Family Movement for several years.

Margaret will be sadly missed by son, Thomas Mark (Barbara) Netzer of West Chester, PA; daughters, Sheila (late David) Shipston of Eleanor, WV, Margee (Ronald) Zito of Wheatfield, NY and Joan (Anthony) Filardo of Palm Coast, FL; grandchildren, Timothy, Laura, Jenne, Christine, James, Lori, Ronald, Jacquelyn, John, Leigh and Janelle; great-grandchildren, Landon, David, Grant, Tessa, Carmella, Cole, Aiden, Trenton, Nolan, Marina, Lucianna, Gina, Theresa and Faustina; one brother, John J. Archbold of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister, Kathleen Devine of Buffalo, NY. She was predeceased by two sisters, Teresa Wolosin and Mary Whalen; one brother, George J. Archbold, Jr. Margaret is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be missed by her many great friends at Weinberg Campus and at Crestwood Commons, Wheatfield, NY.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 7, at 10:00 AM, at St. Vincent dePaul Parish in Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Rose E. Fritz (West), age 98, of Wheatfield, entered into rest on December 4, 2011, at the Elderwood Health Care at Crestwood facility. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on September 13, 1913, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Steingasser) West. Rose graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1931 and went to work at the Wurlitzer Company, where she met and married Glenn E. Fritz in 1940. She became a dedicated homemaker, raising two sons. During the 1950's, she worked for Pivot Punch and Die Corp. Rose loved gardening and had a beautiful yard filled with flowers. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing and, mostly, Yellow Pike fishing with her husband. Rose drove a car for 75 years and never had a ticket or accident. In 2007, she moved into Elderwood at Crestwood, where she enjoyed life until her death.

Survivors include her two sons, Terry G. (Jill) and Ronald J. (Lydia) Fritz; four grandchildren, Tracy (Dale) Selbert, Jeffrey (Lisa) Fritz, Cynthia Jones and Thaddeus Fritz; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Glenn, in 1997; a sister, Marie Miskho and brother, Frank West.

Rose requested in lieu of flowers or donations, just to say a prayer for her. If you wish to make a donation, she supported Niagara Hospice. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date to be announced. Arrangements were by the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME.

Paul A. Moje passed away suddenly on December 3, 2012. Born in Lockport on September 29, 1965, he is the son of the late Robert W. and Lauraine Moje. He is the past fire chief of the Wendelville Fire Company serving 2001-2002 and again in 2010-2011. He also worked for the Niagara County Highway Dept. as a truck driver. Paul was an avid outdoorsman and was the captain of the Brauers Euchre team.
Paul is survived by his wife of 19 years, Kathleen (Holler) Moje. Dear father of Joshua, Zachary, and Andrew Moje. Brother of David (Ann), and Randy Moje, and Cheryl (David) Wright. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Paul is also survived by his mother-in-law, Marilyn (late Richard) Holler. Brother-in-law of Beth (Gary) Grimmer, Brian (Mary) Holler, Greg (Melissa) Holler, James (Lisa) Holler, and Lynn (Jeffrey) Orlowski.

Priscilla J. McCollum, of the Town of Cambria, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012, in Beechwood Health Care Center, Getzville, NY. She was born in Tonawanda, NY, on March 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Norman and Catherine (Langbehn) Martin.
Mrs. McCollum attended the Pekin School and graduated from LaSalle High School. She was employed with the Remington-Rand Company for several years and later became a assessment clerk with the Town of Cambria, for 20 years, before retiring. Mrs. McCollum was an active member of Hope United Methodist Church and was a 4-H leader, belonged to Home Bureau and several card groups. She enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, gardening and doing crafts.
Mrs. McCollum was the wife of the late Lawrence McCollum, who died in 1986. She is survived by one son, Larry (Sharon) McCollum of Lockport, NY; two daughters, Karen Manning and Amy Fose, both of Pendleton, NY; five grandchildren, Kevin (Wendy) Manning, Jason (Lisa) Manning, Aaron and Joshua Fose and Colton McCollum; seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Benjamin, Kyle, Ryan, Sara, Tyler and Caitlin; one brother, Edward (Roberta) Martin; four sisters, Patricia McCord, Charlene Austin, Beverly (Robert) Adams and Norma (Ramon) Rivera; a brother-in-law, Edgar Townsend. Also many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McCollum was the sister of the late Linda Townsend.

NIAGARA FALLS — Arthur W. Milleville, 87, passed away on December 1, 2013, at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. He was born in Niagara Falls on July 30, 1926, the son of the late Arthur P. and Gertrude (Williams) Milleville.

Arthur graduated from the original LaSalle High School in 1944. He briefly attended Niagara University before being drafted into the United States Army during World War II. He served in the Army Aviation Engineers as a Corporal of the 808 Regiment in the Pacific-Asiatic Theater from December 26, 1944, until his honorable discharge on November 11, 1946. He was the recipient of the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon and the Army Occupation Medal.

After his honorable discharge, Arthur attended Valparaiso University in Indiana and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor's degree in business administration, majoring in accounting and auditing. He held various jobs including Timekeeper at Wurlitzer, Internal Auditor at Bell Aircraft Corporation, Control Clerk at E.I. DuPont deNemours & Company, Accountant for the Chevy Division GM and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Chemical Division. He was an accountant and Administrative Assistant with the Department of State, Division of Cemeteries for Western New York for 29 years. After retirement he volunteered his services with SCORE through the Smal Business Administration.

Arthur was Past Commander and lifetime member of the American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451. He was a NYS American Legion Chairman for Graves Registration and past member of the Bergholtz Fire Company and Sanborn Fire Company Bands, the Kiwanis Club of LaSalle, the LaSalle Sportsmens Club, and the Amherst Male Glee Club.

Arthur was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in LaSalle and served as an usher and assistant scout master for their Troop 810. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and coaching his son in hockey. He enjoyed gardening and teaching his grandchildren the fine art of growing corn and pumpkins. He was also involved with the Inter-Club City Bowling League at Beverly Lanes for 20 years. Another passion he had was his family's German Culture. He belonged to the Wheatfield German Club and the Wheatfield Historical Society. Arthur loved history, reading books and sharing many stories of his younger life, helping with his family's dairy business.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha "Myra" (Smith) Milleville; his children, Bryce (Maryann) of New Fairfield, CT, and Kelly (Robert) Braham of Wheatfield, NY; four grandchildren, Bryce and Laura Milleville, Kyle and Kelsey Braham; sister-in-law, Patricia (late Dr. Matthew) Lanighan of Lockport; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Irma (late Robert) Read.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service with military honors on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 10 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 736 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Interment will be private in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston. LEWISTON — Ruth J. Ryan, age 93, of Lewiston, formerly of Ridge Rd. in Ransomville, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.

Ruth was born September 12, 1920 in Lewiston, the daughter of the late Elwood and Florence (Borget) Simmons and lived in Ransomville most of her life. She had worked for a short time at the Ransomville Hospital and at Faery's Greenhouse. On June 6, 1942, she married Walter J. Ryan in St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge. Walter predeceased her on May 14, 1994.

Ruth was a long-time member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge. She sang in the church choir and was a member of the church's Ladies Aid Society and the Women's Missionary League.

Ruth is survived by her adopted family, Mary Beth and Tom Swift and their children, Adam and Morgan of Lewiston, with whom she had lived with the past five years; her dear friends, Connie and Allan Schultz of Ransomville; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, LaVina Simmons.

LEWISTON — Robert C Fowle, of Youngstown, NY, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY.

He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, June 25, 1935, the son of the late Charles and Isabelle (Gibbon) Fowle.

Mr. Fowle graduated from Trott Vocational High School. He was a welder with Olin Corporation for over 18 years, before retiring in 1990.

He was member of Olin Retirement Club and the Niagara Sportsman Club. He was an avid sportsman.

Mr. Fowle loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed riding his bike.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sally (Jacobs) Fowle; his four children, Robert Fowle of Youngstown, NY; Eileen (Mike) Batchen of Tonawanda, NY; Karen (Ed) Linnane of Lewiston, NY; and Scott (Annemarie) Fowle of Niagara Falls, NY; three grandsons, Joshua Fowle of Lewiston; Scott and Sean Fowle, both of Niagara Falls, NY; two brothers, Raymond (Eileen) Fowle of British Columbia, Canada; and Charles (Nancy) Fowle of Lockport, NY; also several nieces and nephews.

NIAGARA FALLS — Stanley Michael "Sonny" Watroba, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Monday, December 3, 2012 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in Niagara Falls, NY, following a lengthy illness. Born on March 30, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley and Genevieve (Zauczkowski) Watroba.

Mr. Watroba attended local schools and graduated from the former Bishop Duffy High School. Sonny, as he was known by family and friends, was employed as a printer for the Niagara Gazette. He then moved to Florida and worked for the Fort Lauderdale News/Sun Sentinel, until his retirement in the late 1990s. Mr. Watroba came back to Niagara Falls, NY in the early 2000s. Sonny enjoyed collecting as a hobby.

Mr. Watroba is survived by three children, Gregory M. (Carla) Watroba of Los Angeles, CA; Thomas S. (Lisa) Watroba of the Town of Niagara NY; and Diane M. (Thomas) Broeker of La Vergne, TN; and was predeceased by one son, Michael Watroba. Sonny is also survived by four grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Goupil of Niagara Falls, NY and Dolores (William) Stone of Niagara Falls, NY; his former wife, Barbara (nee Halleen) (late Michael) Ford of Smyrna, TN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and son, he was also predeceased by one brother, Joseph (Carol of Lewiston, NY) Watroba.

There will be no prior visitation. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. She was born March 30, 1931 in Lewiston, NY to Edward and Amy Smith.

Lois Smith married Kenneth G. Masters on September 4, 1948. They were married for 65 years and she is survived by and cherished by her loving husband, Kenneth G. Masters. She is also survived by her daughters, Amy Ortman and husband, Jeff Ortman of Lewiston NY, Cindy McConnell and husband, Ed McConnell of West Des Moines, IA; her grandchildren, Perry Ortman, Nathan McConnell, Erin Dodd-McConnell and Jason Ortman. She had 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Masters Jr.; her siblings, Stuart Smith, Frank Smith, Thomas Smith, Edna Spencer, Veda Brillhart and Ray Smith.

Her wishes were to be cremated and a graveside service will be held in June of 2014, at Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston, NY.

SANBORN — Eleanor M. Roberts, formerly of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, in Northgate Manor, North Tonawanda, NY. She was born in the Town of Pendleton, NY, on July 13, 1913, a daughter of the late David and Catherine (Halm) Fiegel.

Mrs. Roberts was employed at the Chevrolet East Delevan Plant for 13 years, she owned and operated a Coffee Shop in Sanborn during the 1950' s and 1960's. She had also worked in the maintenance department at Starpoint Central School until retiring. She was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, the Lockport Senior Citizens and the Sanbornites, she also enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

Mrs. Roberts was the wife of the late Bernard Roberts, Roland Lyons and Jacob Garlock. She is survived by three sons, Allen H. (Patricia) Garlock of the Town of Niagara, NY, John R. (Nancy) Lyons of Muncy, PA and Alton Roberts of California; two daughters, Winifred (late Leonard) Clifford of Grand Island, NY and Jeanette (late Richard) Rech of Getzville, NY; also thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Roberts was the mother of the late Lawrence and Kenneth Garlock; sister of the late Mildred Hedstrom, David, Floyd, Melvin and Clarence Fiegel.

NORTH TONAWANDA — Jay B. Graff, age 88, of Tonawanda, died Thursday, December 6, 2012, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Levant and Ula (nee McNinch) Graff, and had resided in Tonawanda all of his life. Mr. Graff was a Navy veteran of WW II and had been employed at Remington Rand and then at the Public Works Department in Tonawanda before retiring. He was a lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, a member of Union Hook & Ladder Fire Company for more than 60 years, and a member of the Tonawanda Firemen's Benevolent Association. He was the husband of the late Doris (nee Wilke) Graff, who died last year.

He is survived by two sons, Raymond (Marie) Graff and Richard (Annette) Graff; five grand- children, Kevin (Becky) Graff, Leah Graff, Steven (Jamie Kenney) Graff, Danielle Graff and Amanda Graff. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Ben; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Monday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, where a prayer service will be held at 8 PM Monday. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to Niagara Hospice are preferred by the family.

NORTH TONAWANDA — Ruth M. Hawkins (nee Semper), age 91, of North Tonawanda, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 6, 2012, following a lengthy illness. Ruth had worked as a secretary with Columbus McKinnon. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. She was a member of the North Tonawanda Senior Citizens and the AARP. Ruth loved traveling. She was an avid bowler and horseshoe player, and she was also the last surviving member of her high school sorority card club.

She was the wife of the late Albert R. Hawkins. Beloved mother of Douglas P. (Belinda) Hawkins of Ocala, FL, and Janice D. (James) McCloskey of Tonawanda. Grandmother of Gregory J. (Jessica) McCloskey of Amherst, and Steven A. Hawkins of Ocala, FL. She was the sister of the late Virginia Stone and Franklin Semper; aunt of several nieces and nephews.

LOCKPORT — Shirley H. Tudor passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012. Born in Lockport on May 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Hazel Van Cleve Poole. Shirley worked at Starpoint High School, retiring in 1997 after 46 years of service, working as district treasurer, census enumerator, and for many years was the adored secretary in the high school guidance department. Shirley also served many years as the "ticket lady" for Starpoint sporting events and plays. She was recognized in 2003 for her many years of service when the new Starpoint football stadium was named Tudor Stadium in her honor. Other honors included appointment as honorary chairperson of the board election and budget votes, and the 1995 Bobby Webber Award from the Niagara PAL Athletic Club.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edgar Tudor, Jr., who passed away July 23, 1999. She is also survived by her beloved daughter, Cynthia Tudor-Schultz of Lockport; son-in-law, Kurt Schultz of Wilson; cherished grandmother of Eberle Schultz (Luigi Bassani) of Manhattan, Hayley Paterson (Daniel) of Tonawanda, and Casey Schultz of Lockport; sister of Elise (late Luther) Stebbins of Lockport; Sharon Sherrick of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law of Shirley (late Norman) Prue and Lorraine (Harold) Class; survived by many nieces and nephews. Shirley is also survived by her dear friend, Robert Perry. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward (late Marietta) Poole, Dorothy Gill and Diane Preisch.

TOWN OF CAMBRIA — Geraldine J. Moje, age 78, of the Town of Cambria, died unexpectedly at her residence on Thursday, November 28, 2013.

Geraldine was born February 16, 1935 in Van Buren, ME, the daughter of the late Magella and Azilda Dube. She was a graduate of LaSalle Senior High School and had worked at K-Mart in Niagara Falls for a few years in the 1960s. In 1967 she married Emory W. Moje and they lived in Ransomville from 1968 to 1987, when they moved to the Town of Cambria. Emory predeceased her in 2003. Geraldine enjoyed traveling with her husband and helping him with his engraving business, fishing derbies, sewing, her pets and most of all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Thomas (Rosanne) Moje of Ransomville, Dianne (Ivan) Spiridinov of California, and Lori Strzelczyk (Dennis Hannon) of Niagara Falls, NY; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Michael P. Moje.

NORTH TONAWANDA — Victoria R. (nee Novotny) Strehlow, age 100, of the City of Tonawanda, Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Northgate Manor Health Care Facility. Born in New York City, she had been a resident of Tonawanda for 94 years, and was the wife of Alfred R. "Gus" Strehlow, who died in 1992; mother of Penelope "Penny" Strehlow, who died in 1960; daughter of the late Victor and Rose Novotny and sister of the late Henry, Ralph and Walter Novotny.

A 1929 graduate of Tonawanda High School, Victoria and her husband, "Gus", owned and operated Fritz's Restaurant in LaSalle, NY for six years. She was also employed as Cafeteria Manager in Tonawanda Junior High School for 16 years, before retiring. Victoria was the oldest living member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was Past President of the Women's Guild, a member of the Altar Guild and church choir, and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also the oldest member of the Tonawanda Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her son, Clifford A. Strehlow and daughter-in-law, Michele Strehlow of Tonawanda; three granddaughters, Kristin (Charlie) Strehlow-Cooper of Oklahoma, Leigh-Anne (David) Pedrick and Pennie Strehlow of Tonawanda; five great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter, Wil, Gage, Drake, Gabriel, Kyron and Abigale Victoria; and two sisters, Ruth E. Novotny and Marie E. Novotny of Tonawanda. Also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

LOCKPORT — George N. Marinucci, age 98, of Lewiston, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Rehab and Health Facility in Lockport, after a brief illness.

George was born October 23, 1914 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Biagio and Nena (Pizzala) Marinucci. He attended local schools and went to work for his father in the cinder block business. George then went to work for Kimberly Clark in Niagara Falls and retired as a Foreman after 38 years. Always a gifted athlete, he won the John Hancock Tournament in Golf in 1938; was on the winning team of the Inter Dept. Softball at Kimberly Clark, won many league championships in bowling, and was inducted into the Niagara Falls Bowling Hall of Fame in 1984. George was a treasurer of the Kimberly Clark Athletic Association and an executive director of its Credit Union; president of the Niagara Falls Men's Bowling Assoc. numerous times; and was Director of the V.A.B.A. for many years. He coached the Junior Bowlers for over 30 years as well.

George was a communicant of St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston, as well as an Usher there for over 30 years. He was a member of the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Fire Police and Exempt member as well, and a member and former president, vice president and treasurer of the Lewiston Senior Citizens.

He was married to Kathleen "Kitty" O'Donnell for 62 years, who passed away in Oct. of 1999. He is survived by two daughters, Marie Karp of Carol Stream, IL and Francise Zawadzki of Stafford, TX; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Marinucci; two sisters, Anne Buscaglia and Francise Towery; and his longtime companion and caregiver, Karen Klingler.

NIAGARA FALLS — Veronica "Freda" (Ciraolo) Corsaro, 92, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Niagara Falls, NY. Freda was a daughter of Samuel and Josephine (Gallina) Ciraolo, and grew up in Niagara Falls on Ferry Avenue. Freda was happily married to William Corsaro from January 1941 until William's passing in 1986. She lived her entire married life on Ashland Avenue, and in the past few years lived at Sterling House Niagara in North Tonawanda, NY.

Freda was well-known in Niagara Falls for her great baking skills and her wedding cakes graced numerous wedding tables over 30 years of baking. She also baked hundreds of birthday, graduation and special occasion cakes. She created her own recipe and kept it a secret for her baking business, but she was generous with her knowledge and taught several others the tricks of her baking trade, and they went on to become bakers as well. Her bakery business was so well-known that her husband Willie said that he had lost his name and was known in Niagara Falls as "Freda's husband!" She loved to play cards and bingo and the "sisters card party nights" were sacred to them all.

Freda was the mother of James (Kathleen) Corsaro of Troy, NY, and the late William Corsaro. Her grandchildren, Denise (Marc), Matthew (Mira) and Katherine mourn her passing, as do her great-grandchildren, Dylan, Marissa and Trent. Her sister, Mary (late Hank) Corsaro, Elaine (late Joe) Marra and many nieces, nephews and friends also mourn her death. She was predeceased by her sisters, Janette (late Richard) Laurri and Josephine (Joseph of Lewiston, NY) Magliarditi; and brothers, Samuel (late Grace) Ciraolo and Fred (late Mary) Ciraolo.

AMHERST — Mary J. "Lucy" Provenzano entered into rest December 7, 2013, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, following a two-month illness. She was born Maria Josepina Santoloce on St. Joseph's Day, March 19, 1926, in Rome, Italy. She was the daughter of Basilio and Stella (Frankeen) Santoloce. Mary became a skilled beautician through on the job training while working in her aunt's beauty shop near the famous Coliseum of Rome. During World War II, she met a handsome American Army corporal from Lockport, NY, named Benjamin Provenzano. He was a mail clerk stationed in Rome. They fell in love and married in Rome on April 26, 1946. After honeymooning on the Isle of Capri, Ben returned to the States and mustered out of the Army. His war bride arrived by ship soon after and they settled in Lockport. Ben and Mary became parents to four children and raised their family on Rogers Avenue, one block from Lockport Memorial Hospital, where Mary worked as a nurse's assistant from 1971 to 1986.

Mary was predeceased by her husband on January 5, 2004. She is survived by her beloved sons, Sam (Linda), George (Sue) and Ben Junior (Cindy) and by her dear daughter, Mary (Hank). Cherished grandmother of Richard Provenzano, Cori Townsend (Paul), Christina and Georgina Provenzano, Henry (Marsha) Nevins, Luciana (Evan) Gaskill, Benjamin and Ross Provenzano. Loving great-grandmother of Cheryl Lynn and Carissa Townsend, Alexis and Ayden Provenzano, Ava Grace Schrader, Liam Alexander and Henry David Nevins, Lucy Marie and Grace Deborah Gaskill. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

LOCKPORT — After a long, courageous battle with Huntington's Disease, Mildred J. Brass, age 66, of Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport.

Milly was born June 27, 1947 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Mahlon and the late Madeline (Showden) Stahlman. She graduated from Lewiston-Porter High School in 1965 and worked at various businesses, including the New York Telephone Company, Frontier Lanes, The Barton House and Advanced Environmental Services, where she was office manager. Milly and her husband, Peter, also operated a bed-and-breakfast, The Mill Glenn Inn, on Pletcher Road. Milly loved welcoming guests into their home with an abundance of baked goods and fresh flowers. She was very proud to have their home designated a Lewiston Historic Preservation Commission Landmark in 1994.

Milly was an active member of the Lewiston Garden Club and Immaculate Conception RC Church in Ransomville for many years. She had been very active in Lew-Port School activities, Music Boosters, and the PDI Program, as well as volunteering with the Niagara Pioneer Soccer League. Milly had a great sense of humor, loved visiting with people and was kind to everyone she met.

Milly was the loving wife of Peter Brass and the devoted mother of Sundi Brass of Ewa Beach, HI, Vikki (Eric) Rekito of North Tonawanda, Tracey Mallamaci (Patricia Thornborough) of North Canton, OH, and Jennifer (David) Silver of Williamsville, NY. She was also the adoring grandmother of the late Emily, as well as Kevin, Kristopher, Eric, Shae, Sam, Annie, Andrew and Stuart. She was the caring sister of Mahlon Paul (Marie) Stahlman of Rochester, NY and the late Barbara (Paul) Gosney. Milly was loved by countless nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

GASPORT — Ronald Leo Romanowski, age 76, of Gasport, entered into rest on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at his home. Born August 20, 1937 in Buffalo, Ron was the son of the late Leo and Annette "Toni" (Kokoszka) Romanowski.

Ronald graduated from Akron High School in 1955. He then went to the State University of New York in Albany and was a distinguished graduate of the Chinese Language Linguist program through Yale University. After graduation he served his county in the US Air Force from November 30, 1956 until November 29, 1960, in Korea as a linguist. Ronald married Nancy on April 15, 1967 at Covenant United Church of Christ. They had been married for 46 years. Ronald had worked at Norton Laboratories, Plaslok Corp and Plenko, Inc., retiring in 2007. Ron was a member of Covenant United Church of Christ where he was a former trustee, Gasport Lodge #787 F & AM and the Dale Association.

Ron enjoyed his family and friends, most of all his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed football, hockey and all sports. He had lived in Gasport for the past 35 years; previously of Buffalo and Akron.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Seward) Romanowski; loving son, Craig Romanowski and his wife, Jennifer May and granddaughter, Zoe Romanowski; loving daughter, Jennifer Ross and her husband, Michael and children Michael and Juliana; sisters, Patricia (the late John) Socha and Linda (Dan) Bixler; mother-in-law, Susan (Seward) Kidney; brothers-in-law, Richard (Diane) Seward, A. James (Mary) Seward and sister-in-law, Patricia (the late Joe) Lazaro. Ronald is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Michele L. (Paul) Ammerman, 55, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Buffalo General Hospital with her family surrounding her.
     She was born in Niagara Falls and attended 66th Street School, LaSalle Middle School and was a 1982 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School and then worked for 30 years at Sandy’s Packaging as the office manager in Niagara Falls.
She was member and vice president of the ladies auxiliary at Bergholz Fire Company and was a former firefighter for Frontier Fire Company. Michele was also a very active member of the Greater Niagara Falls Church of God and she enjoyed camping and bowling but her greatest joy was her time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her parents John and Sandy (Mack) Paul, her loving husband Glenn Ammerman and her children Joshua and Rebecca Ammerman. She is also survived by four siblings: Donna (James) Dunham, Irene (Gary) Grabiec, John (Chris) Paul and James (Marchette) Paul, sister-in-law Susie Shamrock, brother-in-law Cecil (Karen) Ammerman, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many extended family and friends.

OSWEGO — Diane Spaulding, 77, of Oswego, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013, in St. Joseph Hospital. Mrs. Spaulding was born in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Michael and Dorothy (Gray) Valley.

Mrs. Spaulding lived in the Lockport area most of her life before moving to Oswego in 2010. She loved spending time with her family and she was an avid Bingo player, which was a love she passed down to her daughters and granddaughters. Mrs. Spaudling enjoyed her nightly card games with her friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, J. Douglas Spaulding in 1991; her daughter, Dodie L. Spaulding in 2000; and her siblings, Nancy St. Onge, Michael Valley and Suzanne Stratton.

Mrs. Spaulding is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Spaulding of Oswego, Linda (Herb) Waterson of Lockport, Pamela (Douglas) Ribbeck of Lockport; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Wild of Topsham, ME; and many nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be private. The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego.

Delbert M. Jagow, a retired orderly, died Saturday in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 72.
Born in Wheatfield, he attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and Niagara Falls High School.
Mr. Jagow, a Korean War-era veteran of the Navy, was employed as an orderly in hospitals and nursing homes in New York and North Carolina.
He enjoyed flea markets, antiques and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Ann Barrett of Niagara Falls; three daughters, Diane Barrett of Morganton, Nina Carter of Salemsburg, N.C., and Tina Offhaus of the City of Tonawanda; two sons, Charles Harris of Cogatteville, S.C., and Bruce Johnson of North Tonawanda; his mother, Mathilda of Niagara Falls; a sister, Helen M. of Niagara Falls; three brothers, Leonard, Donald and Norman, all of Wheatfield; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday in Lane Funeral Home, 8622 Buffalo Ave. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Bergholz.

5584 Delores N. Malaney, age 76, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on November 19, 2019 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Stella (Jackson) Moreland.
Delores was raised in Niagara Falls and attended local schools. She was employed in housekeeping at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY for 45 years.  In addition, she worked with her husband, Dennis R. Malaney, I at their janitorial business, D’s Janitorial, for 30 years.  Mr. Malaney predeceased her on July 10, 2008.  Delores loved all those that she was associated with at Mt. St. Mary’s.  She will be remembered for her appreciation of the color yellow, her stamp and coin collection, and her Princess Diana dolls.  Above all, she adored her grandchildren and bonding with her family and friends. 
Delores is survived by her children, Dennis R. (Alison Morgado) Malaney, II, Sherry L. (Amy) Torrie, and Richard (Candy) Malaney, I; her grandchildren, Rachelle Malaney Blanchard, Dennis R. 5591 Denise (Szafran) Bergey, 61, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Denise was the daughter of Ruth and Donald Hartman, and a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls until moving to Lewiston upon her marriage to Michael Bergey.
Denise was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, forever unselfishly putting her family and others' needs above her own.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sailing, searching for treasures at garage sales, gardening and creating unique crafts. As great cook, she enjoyed preparing "buffet feasts," always extending a welcoming invitation to family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered for her generosity and kind, compassionate manner, sharing her spirit of warmth and light to others.
Denise is survived by her husband, Michael Bergey; children, Deana (Frank) Falcone and Daniel Szafran; grandchildren, Jacy, Frankie, Sterling, Valentina, Leo; mother, Ruth Hartman; siblings, Dona, Daniel, Donald and Deborah (Paul) Smith; six step-children; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Donald; and former companion, Nicholas Ciamarro.

Ms. McIntyre graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1954. She was employed at the International Paper Company for 10 years and retired from the Niagara County Department of Health in 2005. Ms. McIntyre was a life long parishioner at Sacred Heart Church and a Eucharist Minister.


Ms. McIntyre is survived by her sisters Nancy (late Herbert) Wills and Rita D. (late John) deWysocki, her brother Edmund "Ned" (Barbara) McIntyre, brother in law John Moran. She was the sister of the late Mary Jane (Elliott) Lynch, Patricia (Michael) Krisher and Victory Moran. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be present Sunday from 2-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Ave, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish, St. Joseph's Church.

Denise was employed as a supervisor at Moore Business Forms, from 1978 till her retirement in 1995. She was a life long member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz; enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling with her family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband, Theodore Beane Sr. They were married December 24, 1978; three children, Ann Marie Moon (Bo Villont) of Town Niagara, Jennifer (Jay) Kobrin of Lockport, and TJ (Robin) Beane Cheektowaga; two sisters, Dawn Rich Sutherland (Jack) of FL, and Diane (Jack) Weaver of GA; and grandchildren, Jacob & Ashley Groll, Marah & Jackson Kobrin, and Courtney & Connor Beane.

5597 Dennis "Denny" Daniel Scouler, age 78, formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away February 1, 2022, after a six-year battle with lung cancer. Dennis was born March 17, 1943, in Niagara Falls, NY, to Scottish immigrants Mable and Daniel Scouler; and was brother of the late William Scouler.
Dennis is survived by Judy his wife of 55 years; his children, Timothy and Danielle; and grandchildren, Abigail and Lillian; as well as extended family and friends.
Denny graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1961 and Ohio University in 1965. He was a standout high school and college athlete. In high school, he was voted all-conference in baseball, basketball and football, basketball co-captain and was the 1961 Billy Kelly Award recipient. In 1997, he was voted into the Niagara Falls School District Hall of Fame in football, basketball and baseball. While at Ohio University, he received All-M.A.C. Baseball First Team honors in 1964 and 1965 and captained the Bobcats 1965 M.A.C. Championship baseball team. As captain of the Ohio University baseball team his humility, contagious friendship and leadership qualities were instrumental in leading the team to unprecedented national recognition.
Dennis proudly served in the United States Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky, achieving rank of First Lieutenant (Tactical Officer, Company B, Officer Candidate Brigade; Platoon Leader, Company A and B; Executive Officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Company and Assistant S2/S3, Headquarters, 4th Battalion, School Brigade, US Army Armor School) and was a recipient of The Army Commendation Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1968.
In 1983, Denny started Dennis Scouler and Associates, an HVAC manufacturer's representative company covering central PA for Baltimore Aircoil Company and was the principal owner until his retirement in 2007. He was well respected for his integrity, knowledge, and customer service, earning national sales recognition and awards on multiple occasions.
Denny was most famous for his love of golf. A longtime member of Harrisburg Country Club, if he wasn't on the course, he was at the range. And if he wasn't at the range, he was watching on TV. He was very competitive on the course, but also patient and generous while playing. He recorded an amazing six holes-in-one during his career.
Dennis had a tremendous zeal for life with a unique sense of humor and appreciation for family, friends, and community. He enjoyed wine and his wife's home cooking. He enjoyed college sports and was an avid Duke basketball fan. He will be remembered most as a great friend, mentor, father, grandfather, and husband.

5598 DENNIS A. DeVANTIER, age 87 of Wheatfield, NY, was called peacefully to his heavenly home, on January 1, 2021 at his residence, under the care of his loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born in the Town of Wheatfield on May 23, 1933; son of the late Benjamin and Esther (Walck) DeVantier. Dennis was a life long member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz, a graduate of Niagara Falls High School, class of 1951, and served in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was employed at General Abrasives as an Electrician for approximately 42 years, until his retirement. Dennis was one of the better fastpitch softball pitchers in the area, and played competitively into his 50's. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play baseball, softball and basketball.Survivors include his loving wife, Doris (Kroening) DeVantier, whom he married February 15, 1958; three sons, Ronald DeVantier, Wayne (Marjorie) DeVantier, and Curtis (Stephanie) DeVantier; grandchildren, Sarah, Benjamin, Andrew, Luke, Joshua and Noah; a sister in law, Hazel (late Alfred) Haseley; a brother in law, Martin (Shirly) Kroening; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Cindy and Marcia Heuer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Helma (George) Heuer.A private service with the family, will be held in the DuBois Funeral Home, with the Rev. Denton White, officiating. 5599 Dennis A. Mante, age 62, of North Tonawanda died suddenly on Sunday (October 12, 2008) at his residence. Dennis was a member of Frieden’s Church. He retired from the U.S. Air Force where he served for over 20 years in the Reserves and was a Korean Conflict Veteran. He worked at National Grinding Wheel and Blue Bird Bus Company. Son of the late Oscar Mante and Muriel Mante Kippa. Brother of the late William O. Mante. Dear brother of Beverly A. Dorn of North Tonawanda and Jerri Lynn (George) Boskat of Clarence Center. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.No prior visitation. 5600 Dennis Albert Gratz, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, entered into eternal rest in his home in Ransomville, NY, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on October 29, 1946, in Niagara Falls, New York, he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (nee Senek) Gratz.A 1964 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School, Dennis voluntarily joined the US Marine Corps following graduation and earned the Bronze Star for his actions in Vietnam. He married Faye C. Lederhouse on November 3, 1968, in Lewiston, NY. Dennis worked for Prestolite and Tulip Corporation for 40 years and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter.Besides his parents, Dennis is predeceased by his loving daughter Julie Gratz and daughter-in-law Janet Gratz. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Faye C.
