Lewis, 556 Gansevoort street, when their son, Harold, was united in marriage to Miss Loretta Beauchamp of Ilion. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. C. Campbell, pastor of the local Methodist church. Miss Edith Lewis, sister of the groom, and Harry MacNeal of this city, was the attending couple. 7104 | Gloversville NY Morning Herald - 7/11/1935 A pretty wedding took place yesterday afternoon at 4 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Watson of 8 Academy Place when their daughter, Kathryn Marie became the bride of Wesley Woodward Bills, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Bills of Auburn. The ceremony was performed by Rev. L. B. Main, pastor of North Main Street Methodist church in the presence of the immediate families and a few intimate friends. Attired in White The bride was becomingly attired in a gown of white chiffon and a tulle veil and carried a bouquet of bridal roses. Her attendants were her sister, Miss Esther Watson, who wore a gown of green mousseline de soie and Miss Christine Sad Ion of Little Falls, a classmate, who wore peach mousseline de soie. Both bridesmaids carried peach colored gladioli and baby's breath. The best man was Allen Bills of Ayburn, brother of the bridegroom. Music was furnished by Miss Cymbleen Nestle who played "I Love You Truly" and "O Promise Me." As the bridal party entered the living room Miss Nestle played Lohengrin's "Wedding March." Later in the afternoon the couple left for a short wedding trip by auto and upon their return will reside in a new apartment at 92 Plymouth avenue South in Rochester. She attended Hartwick College and was graduated from the Mechanics Institute in Rochester, class of 1934 after persuing the Food Administration course. She is, now assistant manager of the Home Dairy Cafeteria Co. in Rochester. The bridegroom is a graduate of Auburn High school and the Chemical Department of Mechanics Institute, class of 1933. Born February 20, 1941 in Buffalo son of Martha (Bielmier) and John Goetz, Sr. He attended All Saints School, St. John's School, and graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Class of 1958. John attended several banking schools and started his banking career at Liberty Bank in 1960 as a teller. He relocated to the Main & Court branch where he was the Liberty Bank Head Teller and was promoted to supervisor of three departments (Commercial Bookkeeping, Thrifti Checks, and Analysis Dept.). John was then promoted to Assistant Vice President and transferred to Branch Division, working through various bank acquisitions, including Goldome and Fleet Bank, before retiring in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thrall Goetz whom he married in 1996; his children John III, Teresa Suhoza, Karen Green, and Kenneth; grandchildren Haley, Zachary, and Dominic Suhoza, and Berlyn and Maxim Thrall. He is the son of the late Avery and the late Hazel (Wade) Mawhiney. Gordie owned and operated Gordon Mawhiney Excavating from 1956 till 1995. He was a 60-year member of the Wilson Vol Fire Co. #1, also a member of the Wilson Conservation Club Moose Lodge, Oddfellows, Elks Lodge, and Lions Club. He enjoyed dancing, spending time hunting at his camp in Belfast and wintering in Florida, along with spending lots of time with his family.Surviving are his children; Shelley Andrews and Roger (Francine) Mawhiney; his grandchildren, Chad (Kristen) Andrews, Kyle (Jamie) Andrews, Jenna (Steve) Schanz, , Kristina (Bill) Battaglia, David Mawhiney, Samantha (Jay) McKee and Michael (Joelle) Taylor; 15 great grandchildren and longtime friend Lloyd “Wiener” Murray. He was employed at Carborundum later known as St. Gobain in production for 40 years. Gordon loved to travel, read and was an avid golfer. Born in North Tonawanda, New York on March 23, 1932, he was the son of the late George and Ella (Ziehm) Martin. Gordon was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1952-1954. He was employed as a milkman with the Sterling Amherst Dairy, worked at Hubman Burial Vault Company, North Tonawanda, and Niagara Monument Works, Niagara Falls, until his retirement. A life long member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, where he formerly served as a Trustee and worked on the church cemetery. Gordon was a member of the American Legion- Wheatfield Post 1451, the Jaycee's, Wheatfield Democratic Club, and a 63 year member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company. A native of the Town of Royalton, he died Thursday (June 2, 1994) in Lockport Memorial Hospital. Dewey worked at Harrison for more than 46 years, starting as an hourly employee in 1928. He rose through the ranks, as foreman of inspection, a field service engineer, general foreman of production, general superintendent, and plant manager at the former Washburn Street Plant and the West Plant from 1950 until his retirementin 1975. At Trinity Lutheran Church, he was chairman of the board of trustees for many years and also served as general chairmanof the United Appeal fund drive in the early 1950s. He was the Industrial Committee chairman for the Chamber of Commerce andworked on various fund drives for Boy Scout troops. He was the widower of the former Marion Kator, who died in 1962. He was born in Niagara Falls, New York on June 15, 1937, the son of Gordon and Marie (Welder) Adams. He served in the US Army. He worked for local florist delivering flowers in the Niagara Falls area for several years. Later, Gordon worked as a cook for various area restaurants. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking and gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Beloved wife of William Gosch for seventy years, loving mother of Phyllis Gosch, Susan Taylor (Kevin), Christine Gosch (Jim Mattoon) and Matthew Gosch (Beth Kinsman). Cherished grand-mother of Kirsten Motley (John), Alexandra Taylor, Meryl Gosch and Kelsey Gosch. Dear great-grandmother of Oliver Motley. Her brother Harold Koithan survives her. Lois was also a kindred spirit to her many nieces, nephews and relatives and a fond friend to many. Lois was born to Herbert and Margaret (nee Wagner) Koithan of Shawnee Road. She is pre-deceased by her sisters Ruth Janowski and Jane Broecker and her brother Herbert Koithan. She is known for her love of gardening and the outdoors. Any day, spring through fall, Lois could be found picking up sticks and pinecones that always seemed plentiful. She truly enjoyed time with her family in the kitchen and on the Koithan farm. She was also an accomplished seamstress, making children's clothing, prom dresses and curtains. Lois had a kind, patient and abundantly loving personality that was complimented by her keen sense of humor. A celebration of Lois' life will be held at a later time. 7131 | GRABAU - A. Arthur, M.D. Dr. Greabau, a retired physician, and former local resident, died in Jupiter, Florida on Sunday, June 6, 2010. He was born in Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, on March 11, 1917. He graduated from Niagara Falls Senior High School, and received his undergraduate education at Capital University, Columbus, Ohio. He then attended the University of Buffalo Medical School, and graduated in 1945. He became a resident physician in pulmonary diseases at Mount View Hospital, Lockport, NY, until 1950, after which he was appointed Medical Director for Tuberculosis Control at the Erie County Health Department. He retired from that position in 1972 and went into private practice until 1984. After that he divided his time between living in Florida and the Town on Tonawanda. Dr. Grabau was a past member of the American College of Chest Physicians, The American Medical Society, The American Trudeau Society, and the Erie County Medical Association. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Buffalo. His hobbies included golf, photography, and painting, as well as world travel. He is survived by is son, John Campbell Grabau, PhD and his wife Deborah and his two grandsons, Mark and Trevor Grabau. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Salvatrice (Nalbone) Riggie. Grace was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. In 1943 she graduated from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA where she earned a Masters Degree in Education and later attended the University of Buffalo and earned a degree in social work. Following her graduation from Seton Hill University, she was inducted in Kappa Gamma Pi, the National Catholic Graduate Honor Society. On July 16, 1947 Grace married Guido A. Filicetti at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls and was predeceased by him on February 7, 2015. For approximately four years during the late 1940’s, Grace was employed as a social worker for the Children’s Aide Society in Buffalo, NY. She enjoyed cooking, painting and traveling. Mrs. Mehls earned a degree in education from Manakato (sic) State Teachers College in Minnesota and taught in several school systems in that state. She married Paul F. Mehls in 1949 and moved to the moved to the Niagara Falls area. Mrs. Mehls returned to teaching after staying home to raise four children until they reached school age. She was a substitute teacher in Lockport and Starpoint schools, then taught first and second grade at St. Peter's Lutheran School. She taught at St. Peter's for 10 years, then became principal. Mrs. Mehls was a native of New Richland, MN She graduated from high school there in 1943. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Richard Mehls of Lockport and David Mehls of Franklin Town, Pa.; daughters, Karen Mehls Jackson of Dillsburg, Pa., and Linda Kurzik of York, Pa.; her mother, Alice Bolduan of New Richland, MN; brothers, Bernard Bolduan and Orville Bolduan, both of New Richland, MN; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
