7301 Harry A. Kroening, 88, of Sanborn, NY was called to his heavenly home on Monday, May 9, 2016, at his residence under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born in the Town of Lewiston, on June 6, 1927, the son of the late Elmer and Elsie [Walck] Kroening.

Mr. Kroening owned a dairy farm and was later employed with the Operating Engineers Local 463 for over 30 years, before retiring in 1989. He was an active member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church for the past 83 years, holding several offices. He was an exempt member of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company.

Mr. Kroening built his own home as well as a cabin in the Southern Tier. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, gardening and woodworking.

Mr. Kroening was the husband of 63 years to the late Jeanette [Beutel] Kroening, who died on April 30, 2010. He is survived by his children Joyce Kroening, Daniel (Lois) Kroening, Carl (Donna) Kroening, Lee (Debra) Kroening, Diane (Michael) Sweet and Donna Kroening, thirteen grandchildren, Alicia (Ryan), Jeremy (Kerry), Justin (Aleasha), Andrew, Matthew, Rachel, Michelle (Thomas), Ashley, Lauren, Jessica, Jennifer, Kristina (Robert) and Joseph, two step-grandchildren, Teresa and Gina (Mario), two great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Eli, four step-great-grandchildren, Anthony, Julian, Nico and Jada, one brother Martin (Shirly) Kroening, two sisters Hazel (late Alfred) Haseley and Doris (Dennis) DeVantier, and a sister-in-law June Kroening. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the father of the late Jean and Lynn Kroening and brother of the late John, Raymond (late Rose) and Herbert (late Jeanette) Kroening.
His family will be present on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral Services on Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road, Pekin, with the Rev. R. Peter Vogeler officiating.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to St. Andrew Lutheran Church or to Niagara Hospice.

KROENING, Harry Allen (I49866)
 
7302 Harry B. Gill, Sr., 88, passed away April 18, 2017 in Eastern Niagara Hospital. Born in Lockport October 24, 1928 he was the son of LeRoy and Anna (Henninger) Gill. Harry served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1947 during WW II on the USS Salamonie. He was a millwright working for Local 289 in Buffalo and was a member of the VFW. Harry was an avid athlete, competing in the Golden Age Swimming Games and placing 1st 2011-2013. He was an avid boxing fan and a local trainer training several local boxers ho went on to win Golden Glove Champions. Harry was predeceased by his beloved wife Virginia (Krystofiak) Gill on January 21, 2017.
Harry is survived by his children Harry (late Carol) Gill, Jr., Donald (Kathleen) Gill and late Nancy Ann Gill and Brian P. Gill; grandfather of nine, great grandfather of 24 and great-great grandfather of five; brother of Phyllis Jogdua, Janice Gill and late Ted, Roy, Robert, Ray, and Sally Gill; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Former Marine served in Korea
BERGEN, N.Y - Harry C. Gardner, 67, of Bergen, died Thursday (Nov. 16, 1989) in Buffalo Veterans Hospital.
He was born in Silver Springs, N.Y.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Batavia, the National Rifle Association, Batavia American Legion Post and the National Lutheran Laymen's League. He also served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict.
Gardner is survived by his wife, Eunice (Mueller) Gardner of Bergen; sons, Peter Gardner and Philip Gardner, both at home; and one sister, Frances Martin of Iowa.
The family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the H. E. Turner and Company Funeral Home, 51 S. Lake St., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday.
Contributions to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Elevator Fund, 31 Washington Ave., Batavia 14020 or the American Heart Association are acceptable as tribute.

7304 Harry DeBan Life story

Harry Michael DeBan, of Niagara Falls, NY, age of 71, passed away on August 28, 2024.  Born on May 18, 1953 in Savannah, GA, he was the son of the late Harry G. and Jeannette (Faddoul) DeBan.

Harry Michael was active in Boy Scouts his entire life, achieving the honors of Eagle Scout and the Silver Beaver award. He also sat on the board of directors for Old Fort Niagara and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  

Harry Michael is survived by siblings, Marsha (Sylvester) Smith III, Denis (Marion) DeBan, Gary DeBan, Armand DeBan, Cynthia (Thomas) Falzone and Donna (Joseph) Maggard and nieces and nephews, Derek, Josuha, Krysta, Kara, Kyle, Brent, Keith, Kasey and Kelsey.  A special thank you to his best friends, Marty and Marybeth Abramson and to our “brother” David Aramini, who cared for him on a daily basis.  Besides his parents, Harry Michael was predeceased by sisters, Deborah J. (Brent) Haseley and Karen E. DeBan. 

All are welcome to gather for visitation on Friday, from 3-7 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).  Harry Michael’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 31st, at 12:00 p.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Son of Judith (nee Mallette) and the late Harry F. Gibbs Sr. Brother of Michael (Sally) Gibbs and Mellissa (Tom) Makowski. Nephew of Claudia (Gary) Cooper, John (Kathy) Mallette and Linda (Andy) Slowik. Also survived by several cousins.
A celebration of Harry's life will be held Monday July 17 at 6:30 PM at Mallwitz's Island Lanes 1887 Whitehaven Rd., Grand Island.

7306 Harry Hendershot Dies After Wreck West of Monon

Harry Raymond Hendershot, 23, who lived west of Monon in Milroy township, Jasper county, died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, of injuries suffered in a truck crash early Monday. His pickup truck crashed into a tree on Ind. 16 west of Monon and he was unconscious when found.
Henderson had been in Monon Sunday night and was enroute home near the Milroy church when the truck plunged off the road and into a tree across the road from the Emory Newbold home.
The driver was thrown out of the truck cab and was lying in a pool of water when he was found by passerby.
Born in Milroy township, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hendershot, and worked on the family farm on Rensselaer, R. 5.
Surviving with the parents are three brothers, George who is in the Army and stationed in Germany, Harold (Bud) in the Navy and now at home on leave, and Earl Jr., at home, and three sisters, Mrs. Maxine Burns and Mrs. Alice Easterday, both of Wolcott, and Mrs. Betty Hadley of Monon.
He had lived in Jasper County all of his life and was a farmer. He had served in the U.S.Army from 1955 to 1957 and was a member of the U.S.Army reserves at Rensselaer.
Funeral services will be held at the Stewart Funeral Home at Monon, Sunday at 2 p.m. Rev. Robert Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in the Milroy cemetery with the U.S. Army Reserves of Rensselaer in charge of the graveside services. Friends may call after 7 p.m. this evening.

7307 Harry L. Hardenstine, Sr., 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, August 5, 2019.  Born on November 21, 1929 in Throop, PA, he was the son of the late Harry L. Hardenstine and Elizabeth (nee Tranton) (late George) Freeman.  On February 26, 1949, Harry married the love of his life, the former Teresa Conde.  She predeceased him on August 22, 2009.
 
Mr. Hardenstine came to Niagara Falls as a child and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  Harry proudly served in the United States Military from August 11, 1948 until his honorable discharge from his reserve obligation with the United States Air Force on August 10, 1955. He was employed as a system analyst for Bell Aerospace and then went on to earn a certificate in accounting.  In 1987, Mr. Hardenstine retired from Occidental, where he worked as a Corporate Payroll Manager.  Harry was a devoted follower of Christ, child of God and licensed minister of the Word. He and his grandchildren took time to pray with patients at local nursing homes.  Mr. Hardenstine worshiped at First Assembly of God in Niagara Falls.  Harry’s family was everything to him.  He loved them unconditionally.
 
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to his “special nurses” from Niagara Hospice, who will forever remember his sense of humor.
 
Mr. Hardenstine is survived by children, Harry L. (late Sharon) Hardenstine, Jr., Thomas Hardenstine and Rose Mary (Alan) Slack; grandchildren, Erica (Daniel) Swiatek, Michelle (Philip) Mocniak, Joseph (fiancé, Katrina) Slack and Teresa (Robert) Kolodziej; great-grandchildren, Danny, Lance, Adrianna, Alana, Zachary and an expected great-grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Harry is also survived by his supportive in-laws, the Conde family and also the Briggs family.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas Hardenstine and a sister, Mary Jane Briggs.

BERGHOLTZ - Harry Pollard, 48, of Washington St.. a former president of Arntz Motor Co., North Tonawanda, died Wednesday (June 6, 1956) at bis home after a long illness. Born in Sarnia, Ont., Mr. Pollard resided in Bergholtz for the last 20 years. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and of the Brotherhood of the church. He retired from business five years ago. Surviving are is wife, Leona Voelker Pollard; three daughters, Mrs. Richard DePasqualc, Niagara Falls. Mrs. Donald Oakey and Miss Judith Pollard, Bergholtz; his mother. Mrs. Etta Pollard, Bergholtz; and a sister. Mrs. Fred Hartman. Niagara Falls. A memorial service is scheduled this month for Hazel Scully Henkle, a retired social sciences teacher at Mitchell College in New London who had served on its board of trustees.
Henkle, who retired in 1975, died Thursday at age 79. She lived on Niles Hill Road in Waterford. The service is scheduled Feb. 25 for 11 a.m. at the all Souls Unitarian-Universalist Church, 60 Huntington St., New London.
Henkle was the wife of Dr. Robert T. Henkle. She also leaves three sons, Bruce Henkle of Weston, John Henkle of Forestville and Richard Henkle of Greenwood, Ind.; a brother, George Scully; a sister, Evelyn Shaw; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Hartman Dies at Age 90
Mrs; Hulda M. Hartman, 90, died this morning (Sept. 14, 1957) at her home at 616 Walnut Ave. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Gridley Funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. at St Paul's Lutheran Church, with the. Rev. Evan J. Bartell officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Bergholtz. Mrs. Hartman was born in Walmore and was a resident of Niagara Falls for 56 years. She had been a member of St. Paul's church since 1901 and was one of the chuches oldest members. She had been active in the Ladies Aid and other church activities in her
younger years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gothold Walck, and mrs. Frances King, and one son Henry Sacht, all of this city. Another daughter, Mrs. Philip Jagow, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, two sisters, Mrs John Ferchen, Bergholtz, and Mrs. Edward Hurl (sic), North Tonawanda. 11 grandchildren, and 12 Great grandchildren also survive.

Of Niagara Falls, died peacefully on June 25, 2020 at home, surrounded by family and under the care of Niagara Hospice. He was 86. Paul was born and raised in the LaSalle area of Niagara Falls. He was a graduate of the former LaSalle Jr./Sr. High School, Class of 1952. He served our country with great pride in the US Navy and Naval Reserves. Paul was employed for 41 years as a mechanic and garage foreman for Niagara Mohawk. He will be remembered as a hardworking, devoted and loving husband and father. He remained active with his many interests, hunting, fishing, woodworking and hockey which he played well into his forty's. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn (Peters) Hartman; a daughter, Catherine and a brother, Leroy Hartman. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Lou Jones; Fred and Jack Hartman and Lorraine Lipp. Private services will be held for the family. 7314 Hartz Mahar - Joan (nee Van Arsdale) "Joanie" Joan Hartz Mahar (nee: Van Arsdale) passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in South Buffalo on April 9, 1943, the first of three children of Paul and Fern Van Arsdale. She is predeceased by her parents, husband David Mahar, and sister Janet (David) Greaves. She is survived by her three sons Robert (Lauren) Hartz, James Hartz, and Michael Hartz, a brother William Van Arsdale; two nephews Kris (Bonnie) Lawrence and Dan (Caitlin) Lawrence; and four grandchildren Emma, Joshua, Landon, and Sloane.

Joan graduated from South Park High School in 1960 and attended the University at Buffalo, earning her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 1965. She entered public education and taught in the Ken-Ton, Sweet Home, Lew-Port, Lockport, and Barker school districts, earning her Master's degree in Education from Buffalo State College in 1983.

Joan was fiercely independent, raising three boys as a single-parent in Wilson, NY. In 1992, she was remarried to David Mahar of Wilson, and spent many years traveling to Fort Myers Beach, Florida and Europe. Joan believed in the value of a good education and that anyone can accomplish what they choose with hard work and perseverance. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilson and always said the most important relationship one has is the one with God.

Visitation hours will be at Hamilton & Clarke Funeral Home in Wilson, NY on Thursday, January 26th from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. A graveside burial service will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson. Harvey ‘Butch’ Huff, Jr., 71, of Sanborn, NY, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024 at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Harvey Sr. and Mildred (Mehls) Huff; and the beloved husband of 40 years to Christine (Wygle) Huff.
Butch graduated from Niagara Falls High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University. He currently owned and operated the Niagara Falls Wedding Chapel and touched the lives of many couples through his talents in ministry, photography and videography on their wedding day. Each year, Butch proudly took part in over 100 wedding ceremonies.
Butch worked as a dealer at the Seneca Niagara Casino for over 18 years. He was an excellent athlete and enjoyed competing in team sports, softball, golf and volleyball. Butch had a tremendous love for Harley Davidson and was a talented photographer. He also had a love for animals, especially his dogs, Barrack, Bernard, and his cat, Bindi. Above all, Butch enjoyed spending time with his family and friends who will miss him dearly.
He happily rejoins his beloved daughter, Candace Christine Huff, who sadly predeceased him in 2016, and their beloved dog, Bernard, who followed Butch to Heaven on the same day of Butch's passing.
In addition to his wife, Christine, Butch is survived by his siblings, Rick (Susan) Huff and Donna (Kirk) Kelly; his mother-in-law, Dorothy (late Donald) Wygle; brothers-in-law, Steven Wygle and Jeffrey Wygle, his sister-in-law, Kim Munger, his daughter Lauren Miller (Phil) and grandson Ryan who he recently united with and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Beverly (late Ralph) Alfonse, Marilyn Byrnes and Sandra (late Bob) Dell.

7316 Harvey H. Haseley, of Sanborn, NY, entered into eternal rest and his heavenly home on Saturday March 1, 2003, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89 years.
He was born on May 29, 1913, in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, the son of Anthony and Hulda [ Kroening ] Haseley. At an early age, he was raised by the Fahrnwald Family, Fred, Rose and Phillip, Emma, on the family farm, in Sanborn, now, the Power View Farm, well known as a prize winning farm for raising Registered Holstein Cattle, grain and hay, where he has worked all his life. He was a Charter Member of the Niagara County Milk Producer's. Mr. Haseley was a lifetime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Walmore.
He was predeceased, by his wife of 67 years, Elvira M. [ Fedeler ], who died November 11, 2002.
Surviving are his children, Lois Burkhardt [ late Sam ] , of Lockport, Niagara County, NY; Helen Buerger [ William ] of Sanborn; Roy Haseley [ Eileen ] of Sanborn; Margaret Ewald [ Ralph ] of Ransomville; Howard Haseley [ late Linda ] of Sanborn; Karen Hicks [ Donald ] of Bluff City, TN; Nelson Haseley [ Barbara ], of Sanborn; a sister Irma Haseley, of Sanborn; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Edwin Haseley, Hilda Wendt and Frances Walck.
The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, from 7- 9 P.M. Thursday and 1 - 4 & 7 - 9 P.M. Friday.

BUFFALO - A former Niagara Falls resident, Henry E. Haseley, 56, of 35 Commonwealth Ave., died today (May 12, 1976) in Veterans Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Bergholtz, he lived in the LaSalle section of Niagara Falls for 35 years before moving to Buffalo. Mr. Haseley served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was awarded a purple heart during the invasion of Italy. He was active in local baseball circles. Following their wedding trip to North. Bay, Ont., Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Charles Haseley will make their home at 8263 Bollier Avenue. They were joined in marriage Saturday the Rev. G. F. Hoyer officiating at his home in Eighty-second street. The bride is the former Miss Helen Jean Wingrove, daughter of Mrs. Stephen Badyl, Bollier avenue, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. Haseley, North avenue. Given in marriage by her stepfather, Mr. Stephen Badyl, the bride wore a gown of white lace fashioned with a ballerina-length skirt and a fitted bodice. The sweetheart neckline had a mandarin collar, and her shoulder-length veil was held in place with a pearl and lace Juliet cap. She carried a nosegay of red and white roses. Miss Joanne Fermolle, Krull parkway, was the only, attendant. Her yellow sheer dress and hat were complemented by a corsage of roses and gladioli. Best man to the bridegroom was Mr. Albert Scott, Krull parkway. The afternoon reception was held at the home of the bride's mother, where the wedding cake centered the bride's table. The mother of the bride received her guests wearing a navy blue dress, with navy and white accessories. She wore a corsage of red roses and gladioli. For traveling, to Canada, the former Miss. Wingrove chose a light blue frock, with white accessories and yellow'flowers.

Wallace P. Haseley, age 97, of Bergholz, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 after extended Hospice care, at his residence. Born in the Town of Lewiston, Niagara County, NY on August 3, 1910 to the late Albert and Anna (Ferchen) Haseley. He attended St. Peter's Lutheran School and the former Sanborn School. Wallace was employed as a millwright at General Abrasives for forty years, retiring in 1975. He was an active member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, were he served as a former financial secretary, was involved with the building of both the church and school, and was a grounds keeper at Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. He enjoyed gardening, watching sports, was a mechanical repairman and all around handyman, who always enjoyed his family and especially his grandchildren. Survivors include six children: Marlene (Bernhard) Langhart of Long Island, Lorna (Wayne) Wentzel of Michigan, Roger W. (Linda) Haseley, Willard (Sherry) Haseley, Wilfred (Sharon) Haseley all three of Bergholz, and Florine (Karl) Wilkins of Maine; 6 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren;a brother, Marcus (Lizzie) Haseley of the Town of Lewiston; sister, Lydia Stoelting of Wheatfield; three sisters in law: Gladys Haseley, Althea Haseley and Mathilda Stoelting; and many nieces and nephews. Norrine A. Hasley, a former administrative assistant at Du Pont County, died Wednesday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. She was 69.
Born Norrine Hoak in Niagara Falls, she was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
Mrs. Hasley worked as an administrative assistant at Du Pont in Niagara Falls for 31 years.
After retiring, she began working as a secretary at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, where she also sang in the choir for many years.
She was a member of the Notables in Niagara Falls and the Ransomville Rural Retirees Group and enjoyed bowling, singing, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband of 13 years, Roy, died in 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Anne of Niagara Falls; two sons, Steven R. of Los Angeles and Scott of Pendleton; a sister,
Shirley O'Callaghan of Niagara Falls; two brothers, Harold Hoak of Brookfield, WI., and Donald Hoak of West Islip; and three grandchildren.

Olga F. Jagow, 94, a child care provider died Aug. 25, 2009, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes. Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Ila McClenahan officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Olga was born Dec. 7, 1914, in Leader, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Karl and Karoline Nagel. She was raised and educated in Leader and graduated from high school. On Jan. 23, 1942, she married Herbert Jagow in Swift Current , Saskatchewan. The couple resided in Detroit, Mich., and moved to Havre, Mont., in 1948. Olga went to work for Deaconess Hospital in Havre, where she worked in daycare. Her love of children prompted her to open a daycare in her home which she operated until 1991. Olga was an avid gardener. She and Herb enjoyed camping together and traveling to see the country and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herb Jagow, Jan. 8, 2000; and her brothers, Edvin, Chris, Robert and Philip. Olga is survived by her three sisters-in-laws, Esther Nagel and Martha Nagel both of Leader, Saskatchewan Canada, and Gladys Nagel of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as hundreds of daycare children and their appreciative families.

7345 Hazel Ecker Haseley, formerly of Hamlet, IN died at 10 pm Thursday at the Bremen Healthcare Center, where she had lived since February 1995. She was born on Feb 2, 1919 in Walkerton, IN to Benjamin and Myrtle Crires Ecker, and had lived in this area her entire life. She was a loving and devoted wife. mother, and grandmother. Hazel retired from teaching school in 1984 after 34 years of service in the community. She was a member of the Blissville Church of the Brethren, Tyner, IN. the National Education Association., and the Indiana Teachers Association. ON Dec 23, 1944 she married Herbert A. Haseley, who preceded her in death on Sept 21 , 1995. Lived on Slayton Settlement Road
GASPORT- Hazel (Mietz) Halstead, 73, of Holley, N. Y., formerly of Slayton Settlement Road, died Sunday (Aug. 20, 1989) in Medina Memorial Hospital. The Lockport native was the daughter of Rudolph and Rosa (Hintz) Mietz. She was the widow of Kenneth B. Halstead, who died July 31, 1985. She had lived in Holley for a year. Mrs. Halstead was a member of the Gasport Jet Setters, the Lockport Senior Citizens, the Middleport Senior Citizens, the United Auto Workers Retirees and Travel Club, the Royalton Historical Society, and the Spencerport Senior Citizens. She was an avid supporter of the POW-MIA and the National Audubon Society. She is survived by sons, Paul Halstead of Albion and Daniel Halstead of Spencerport; daughters, Naomi Zink of Brockport, and Mary DeMattina of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Howard Mietz of Middleport; and six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main SI. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 4447 Central Ave., with the Rev. Rodney Klinzing officiating. Burial will be in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery. Contributions to the MIA- POW Task Force Omega of Iowa, 202 Grand Ave., Spencer, Iowa, 51301 are acceptable as tribute.

7348 He arrives with his parents, brothers and sister, when he was 10 years old. They came aboard the ship, Restauration; James Hall, Capt; from Rotterdam, last from Leith. His parents, born in the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland, had fled with other Swiss Mennonite families due to religious persecution.

He was a soldier in the Pennsylvania Continental Line during the Revolution. He was also a soldier in the Militia from Northumberland County, PA.

He was a private in a company of the militia active as Rangers against the Indians on the frontier. The Company was commanded by Capt. John Moll of Sunbury, PA.

They were later found wandering in Germany and France and resided in Perry, a town in Germany near the French border.
