Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Road, Cambria. Hochadel died Monday (May 20, 2002) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston after a long illness. He was an electrician working out of Local 237, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He retired in 1979. Hochadel was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1945 and receiving the Bronze Star. He took part in the Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe and Rhineland campaigns. Hochadel was a member and past treasurer of North Ridge United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, a member of the Masonic Consistory, a past master and member for more than 40 years of the Ransomville Lodge 551, F&AM, a member and past master of the Niagara Lodge of Perfections, and a member and past noble grand of the Odd Fellows in Lockport. He was a founder of the Lewiston-Porter Square and Compass Club. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Iva S. Canfield; a daughter, Elaine A. Helling of Palmer, Alaska; a son, Lyle of Gowanda; and a granddaughter. Harriette graduated from St. Ann's Business School and went on to work at General Mills before marrying the love of her life, Otto on September 17, 1949. She was an avid reader, gardener and traveler with Otto and the family on camping trips across the U.S. Later in life she shared that love of travel with her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, cooking for her family and was a woman of great faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a lifelong member at St. Amelia's Catholic Church where she started the Precious Blood of Jesus Prayer Group fifty years ago that is still going strong. Harriette taught Bible study for 14 years that were well attended, led over 31 seminars on various faith topics and was a lector and Eucharistic minister. She also served as a pastoral care associate at St. Joseph University Church for a number of years. Harriette will be remembered for her gentle and fun loving spirit that brought a smile to everyone who met her. She will be missed greatly by her family and her dear friends. Miss Ada and Helen Goerss sang at the services at home. They were accompanied by Mrs. Adelia Eggert. The school children of the St James Lutheran school rendered a sacred selection at the church services. They were accompanied by Theodore Grabau, teacher, at the organ. Mrs. Williams is survived by one son, Arthur J. Williams, Town of Niagara, one daughter, Mrs. Henry Siegman, of St Johnsburg, NY, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs. Albertine Collins and Mrs. Hulda Haseley of Niagara Falls, NY, Mrs. Rose Goerss of the Town of Niagara, Mrs. Anna Walck of Sanborn, and Mrs. David C. 7529 | Hold Last Rites For Mrs. Ferchen BERGHOLZ, June 15. - Funeral services for Mrs. Auguste Milleville Ferchen were held this afternoon from the home at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 o'clock at Holy Ghost Lutheran church with the Rev. Victor. Dahlke officiating. The senior group of the Holy Ghost school sang, "Jesus While Living and Jesus While Dying." The bearers were Christ Burow, Arthur Milleville, Cornelius Ferchen, Theodore Schmidt, David Ferchen and Edwin DeVantier. Interment was in Holy Ghost cemetery. Mrs. Ferchen was born at the Milleville homestead on the Old Falls boulevard and was a life long resident of the Town of Wheatfield for 82 years. She lived 64 years in the same house and attended school in the same house where she resided when ten years old. In 1886 she was married to Christian Ferchen, a parochial school teacher of the St. James congregation. She was the daughter of the late John and Albertine Krull Milleville. She Is survived by two sons, Hugo Ferchen, Niagara Falls, and Erich Ferchen, Bergholz; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur J. Williams. Cayuga drive, Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Edward Eggert, at home; one sister, Mrs. Bertha DeVantier, St, Johnsburg; 11 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She was a sister of the late John William Albert Milleville and Mrs. William H. Schmidt. Mrs. Ferchen was an active member of the Holy Ghost church and of the Lutheran Women's Missionary league. She was born in Canada October 14, 1850. On March 16, 1865 she was united in marriage to David Bridge- man, who survives her. 7546 | Holley NY Standard - 10/2/1913 A very pretty informal wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. E. Mepsted of Clarendon, N. Y., Wednesday afternoon, September 24, 1913, when their only daughter, Miss Laura E. Kimball, was united in marriage to Mr. Charles Archer, elder son of Mr. snd Mrs. James Archer, also of Clarendon. The ceremony, which was witnessed by about 28 invited guests, including the immediate relatives of the contracting parties, and a few intimate friends, was performed by Rev. L. H. Robinson of Richfield Springs, N. Y., former pastor of the Universalist church of Clarendon, and a close friend of the bride and groom. Promptly at 3 o'clock the bridal couple, following a beautifully played selection from Hoffman, with Miss Shirley Ventress at the organ, took their places unattended under an arch of evergreens and golden rod, with which the room was tastefully decorated, and responded to the ring service, the same ring being used with which the bride's parents were united nearly 24 years previous. After the bride and groom had re ceived the hearty congratulations and good wishes of those present, a delicious dinner was served, with Mrs. Adelbert O. Mower as cateress, and Miss Shirley L. Ventress and Miss Olive A. Snyder as waitresses. The dining room and bride's table, where covers were laid for 14, were decorated in shell-pink, green and white, asters being the flowers used. The bride was simply gowned In white embroidered voile over white Swiss, and her traveling costume was of navy blue serge, with white hat and gloves. They left at 4:30 amid a shower of rice and merriment for Lockport, .Niagara Falls and Buffalo, returning after a few days to reside at the home of the groom in East Clarendon, which is being repaired and redecorated for their occupancy, and where they will be at home to their friends after November 16. The bride received many useful and beautiful gifts at the wedding, including a Iarge quantity of table silver were, linen, bedding and other articles, also many handsome pieces of linen at a shower given by Mrs. Ruth Coleman on Wednesday evening, September 17, A china shower was also given in her honor by Misses Grace A. Turner and Shirley L. Ventress, at the home of the former Friday evening, September 19, which was most successful socially, and at which the gifts to the guest of honor were many and beautiful.
