7554 | Holley NY Standard - 12/19/1912 Friday afternoon William G. Boots who resides east of Fancher committed suicide at his home. For some time he has been brooding over his financial troubles and has been constantly under watch. Friday afternoon his wife went out to'call on a neighbor. Upon her return her husband was missing and upon going upstairs she found lying on t h e floor with a 22 calibre rifle by his side and a bullet wound near bis heart. He lived only a short time. Mr. Boots was 39 years of age. He was born in Riga, Monroe county, and had spent most of his life in Clarendon, with the exception of a few years that he lived in Pennsylvania, He is survived by his widow, his brother, Charles of Erie, Pa., and one sister. 7556 | Holley NY Standard - 12/4/1924 J. Howard Bulmore of Brockport was instantly killed last Wednesday evening shortly after 6 o'clock, when his car overturned on the Redman Road near the railroad bridge. No marks appeared on his body and it is believed that he died of suffocation. He was discovered shortly before 7 o'clock by H. J. Dean. Mr. Bul more had left home shortly after 6 o'clock to meet the trolley arriving in Brockport at 6:14 o'clock. It is believed that he turned out for a car, went off the road and was unable to tum back before he skidded and turned over. Mr. Bulmore leaves his wife, Maud Patte Bulmore; his father and mother of Lockport; two brothers, Earl and Ross, and five sisters, Mrs. Frank Johnson, Mrs. James Ferguson, Mrs. Nellie Vagg, Mrs. Norman Hadley and Miss Fern Bul more. He was a member of Sweden Cen ter Presbyterian Church, of the Odd Fellows and Capen Hose Company. He was a member of Harsch Crisp Seaman Post, American Legion. He was one of the first from Brockport to offer himself in the World War. He was a member of Battery D, 309 Field Artillery,, as Ordinance Ser- geant. A military funeral wa held from his late home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial was in Lake View cemetery. ALSO Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 11/28/1924 Howard J. Bulmore, 36 years old, of Brockport, .on of Mr. and Mrs, Timothy J. Bulmore, of No. 39 Lewis Street, this city, was found dead un- der his automobile, near the railroad bridge in the Redman road, near Brockpart, Wednesday night about 7 o'clock. It is believed that he was suffocated, as no bruises were found on his body. The young man had left home shortly after 6 o'clock to meet someone at the trolley station, and from the marks in the road. It is supposed that he turned out for a car, and went off the road. Mr. Bulmor. was born at Barre Center In 1988. He was a number of the Presbyterian church of Sweden Center, of the Odd Fellows, the American Legion and Capon Hose. company of Brockport He was an Ardnance Sargeant in the 109th Field Artillery, Battery D, being on. of the first men to leave Brockport after the outbreak of the World War. Beside, his parents living here, Mr, Bulmore leaves his wife, Maud Patt. Bulmore of Brockport; five sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Frank Johnson of Albion, Mra. James Fer- guson of Oswego, Mrs. Joseph Vagg of Fair Haven, Earl Bulmore of Al- bion, Fern and Ross Bulmore of Lockport. Mr. and Mrs, Bulmore, parents of the young man, hav. lived In Lock- port about six years, coming from Barre Center. The father is a sales- man employed In the Witkop and Holmes, grocery store on Lock street. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Claren- don where he attended public school. At an early age he went to Roches- ter for employment. Alma Bowen Bridgeman was born in Churchville, the daughter of Guy S. and Hattie Bowen. When a smal cild she moved with her parents to Clarendon where she attended pub- lic school. Mr. and Mrs.. Brdgeman were mar- ried by the Rev. Odell, then pastor of the Clarendon church. They were attended by W. N. Housel, nnow of Clarendon and Carie Allen, now Mrs. Roy Darch of Byron, who was also guest at the party. After their marriage they made their home in Rochester where Mr. Bridgeman worked for the National Biscuit Co. and Loose-Wiles Bakaing Co as salesman. They have two sons; David Mar- tin, electrician andn assessor, who lives in Clarendon; and Robert G. Who owns aand operated Bob's Bak- ery at Albion. 7572 | Holley NY Standard - 6/29/1944 St. Mary's Church in Albion was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday morning, June 17, 1944, when Miss Eleanor Dorothy Karls, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Karls, and Harold Smith Boccaccio, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Boccaccio, were united in marriage at a nuptial high mass. The Rev. Melinski performed the ceremony before the altar banked with roses and pink and white peonies. The bride, who was given in mar- riage by her father, Stanley Karls, was gowned in white georgette with lace inserts, en train, and fingertip veil, with a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a bridal bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Arlene Socciarelli, maid of honor, wore a gown of yellow net over satin, with lavender accessories, and carried an old-fashioned bouquet of yellow roses. Miss Loraine Rice and Miss Loraine Stucco acted as bridesmaids. Their gowns were fashioned alike, one being pink net over satin, the other blue net over satin. They carried old-fashioned bouquets. Arnold Basinait was best man for the groom. Following the ceremony a reception was held at St. Mary's Hall for 150 guests. After a wedding trip to the Thousand Islands and other points of interest, Mr. and Mrs. Boccaccio will reside in Buffalo. Lyon offlciating, at 4:30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, July 5, when Florence Leora Blood, granddaughter of Walter S. Blood of the Galloway road, Batavia, became the bride of Lester Niles Jannain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester K. Jan-, nain of Elba. The bride was attended by Mrs. Leon Watson of Elba. The bride wore a street-length dress of white crepe, with white hat and acceseories and an orchid corsage. Mrs. Watson wore a pink and white twopiece dress with white accessories and nad a corsage of pink caraations. Mr. Watson was the beat man. Following the ceremony a smali reception was held at Young's Restaurant in Batavia for close relatives and friends, after which the couple left for a short trip through the Adirondacks. They are reaiding at Elba. The bride ia a graduate of the class of 1941 of Elba Central School. Cummings on March 6, 1998, in Niagara Falls, NY. Holly loved animals, gardening, and creating stained glass windows to decorate her and Dewayne's home. She cherished spending time with her family. She kept herself busy at all times. 7585 | Holly NY Standard - 2/16/1933 Word has just been received here of the death, in a San Diego, Cali- fornia hospital, of Frederick J. Bod- kin, former Niagara Falls resident who, despite an absence of many years, still had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances here. Mr. Bodkin is survived by a sister, Mar- garet Bodkin of this city, and three brothers, John and William, both of this city, and Martin Bodkin, of Buffalo. Up until the time fo her death, his widowed mother, Mrs. Catherine Bodine, was also a resi- dent of Niagara Falls. Mr. Bodkin was forty-four year old. He had been retire from ac- tive service in the United States Navy, where he was a chief ma- chinist's mate, in November, 1932, and with his wife, the former Ella May Snyder, of Geneva, N.Y., mo- tored to California in December to make his home. He contracted pneumonia during the motor trip and was taken to the San Diego hospital in which he died. The cou- ple was married last June in Buffa- lo. For the past four years Mr. Bod- kin had been assigned to recruiting duty in Buffalo, Rochester and Jamestown. Prior to that he had served in the World War, had seen service in the Vera Cruz campaign, had practically encircled the globe in the pursuit of his duties. At one time he was attached to the U. S. S. "Kentucky;" he wa asigned to the U. S. S. Arizona when it was first put in commission. He served his government in a number of for- eign countries, also. Mr. Bodkin was a member of Camp Lowry No. 45, Woodmen of the World, and alo of Niagara Council of the Knights of Columbus. Burial will be in California. Mr. Bodkin who was the son of the late Nicholas and Kate Nugent Bodkin, wa born in this vicinity and spent his eary boyhood here. He was a nephew of Mrs. Thoma Fitzgerald of this village and had many other relatives and friends in this vicinity. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Snyder Bodkin; one sister, Miss Margaret Bodkin, and three brothers, John, William and Martin.
