She loved doing ceramics, crafts and knitting. Jane knitted hundreds of scarves and hats for Hearts For The Homeless. She was also an animal lover and was a caregiver to many. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on July 23, 1932, the daughter of the late Fred and Anna [Considine] Peuss. Ms Peuss graduated from St. Mary's High School and Buffalo State Teachers College. She was an elementary school teacher at Lewiston - Porter School for many years. Ms Peuss had traveled extensively throughout the world and enjoyed gourmet cooking, reading and spending time with her close friends. She is survived by one sister Nancy (Robert) Fortman and was the aunt of Martin and Andrew (Terri) Marino, Mary Jo (David) Rhodes, Kathleen (Mick) Pontalti, Maureen (Jeff) Milne, Michael and Mark (Holly) Fortman, also many grand nieces and nephews. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on October 24, 1933; daughter of the late Elton and Irene (Blank) Wendt. A lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, where she was active with the seniors, Women of the church, choir member, and quilting. Jane was a resident of Sanborn for the majority of her life. She was employed at Starpoint Central School, in the cafeteria, where she loved to see her grandchildren standing in line for lunch. Hobbies and interests included sewing, bowling, gardening, growing pumpkins, and the time spent at the family cabin. Jane was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Kroening, on July 1, 1994; a son, Mark Kroening; and a sister, Lorraine Witkop. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Helen (Cushman) Dyke. Janet was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield Senior High School and earned her Associate’s degree from Niagara County Community College. On May 24, 1974, she married her beloved husband, Brian Dunstan. Janet owned and operated Janet Dunstan’s Dance Academy for over 40 years where she taught many generations the love of dance. She was instrumental with the Niagara Falls Experience Players as an original board member and choreographer, as well as the Niagara Falls High School Drama Club. In addition to her love for dance, Janet was also a talented painter. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Janet is survived by her husband Brian of 48 years; her loving children, Barry Dunstan and Courtney (Scott) Glenn; four cherished grandchildren, Myla Dunstan, Blake Dunstan, Giselle Glenn and Adeline Glenn; her brother, Thomas (late Muriel) Dyke; her brothers-in-law, Bill (Dru) Mang and Barry (Melanie) Dunstan; her nieces and nephews, Katie Watkins, John Mang, Susan (Roy) Guidry, Nicole (Phil) Baker and Derek (Catherine) Dunstan; as well as countless friends and students. 7910 | Janet E. Kroening, 81, of Sanborn, NY died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Residence in Lewiston. She was born on July 17, 1925, in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Goerss) Pack, and was a graduate of LaSalle High School in 1942. Upon graduation from high school, she was employed at the Carborundum Company in the billing department. After having children, she was employed part time at the Sanborn Library. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, where she was an active member of Grace Ladies for many years, served on the Altar Guild, sang in the choir, and taught Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Sanborn Historical Society. She was devoted to her family and especially looked forward to time spent with her grandchildren. Janet was married for 60 years to the late Harold Kroening, who passed away in February of 2006. She is survived by one daughter Amy (Ross) Folmsbee of Sanborn, one daughter-in-law Kathryn(Kelly) Armstrong of Rochester, four grandchildren Laura, Melisa and David Kroening and Jonathan Folmsbee. She attended St. Mary's high school and went on to work at Niagara University. She married the love of her life, Andrew Nowak, on June 16, 1956, who preceded her in death on December 7, 2010. Janet’s first love was her family. She was an outstanding seamstress, and it showed in the clothes that she made for her children and grandchildren. Among the favorites, her knitted sweaters, hats and mittens. Janet was a longtime secretary at Prince of Peace rectory in Niagara Falls, NY. Her other love was being a dance teacher at Miss Bev's Dance Studio. She also looked forward to her monthly breakfasts with her girlfriends.Janet joins in spirit her husband Andrew H. 7921 | Janette J. LePage, age 87, of Plano, Texas died September 19, 2020. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Iacopino) Palermo. Janette attended Niagara Falls High School, Nazareth College and Albany State Teachers College. On October 29, 1955 she married her husband Rene J. LePage and was happily married until his death on March 18, 1992. Mrs. LePage had a passion for teaching and served as a teacher and assistant principal at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School for many years. In 1978 she was presented the Dedicated Service Award for her many years of faithful and outstanding generosity in building the parish family. Then in July of 1979 she went on to work for the City of Niagara Falls in the Finance division retiring in 1995. She was also an active member for many years with LaSertoma. She moved to Plano, Texas in 1998. She is survived by her children Joseph (Candace) LePage of Plano, TX, Catherine (James) Campbell of Charlotte, NC, and John LePage of Plano, TX. She is also survived by a grandson and step granddaughter along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Marie (late Dominick) DeMartino. 7922 | Janette Schiesser, 76, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on April 16, 2021 at her residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Angelo P. and Domenica M. (Pitrone) Ruggiero. Janette attended local schools and graduated from Madonna High School in 1962 and Rosary Hill College in 1967, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Janette was employed at Tops Market where she met her husband, Richard. On August 5, 1967, she married Richard J. Schiesser at St. Joseph’s Church. Mr. Schiesser predeceased her on November 23, 2020. Janette was employed as a School Teacher during the 1960’s with the Niagara Falls Board of Education and at St. Peter's Catholic School in Lewiston during the 1980’s teaching Middle School Science. Janette was very talented and creative. She started and owned Just Stitchn’ Craft business for over 35 years, where her work was displayed in many craft shows and consignment shops. Later in life she became a Stampin Up Consultant, where she taught various classes and card crops. Many relationships were developed throughout all of these opportunities. Janette’s life centered around her family. She loved spending time and traveling with her family. She was an avid parent volunteer throughout her children's school years. She enjoyed taking sports excursions with her husband. Her husband, children and her grandchildren were the focus of her life. She is survived by her children, Maria (Danny) D’Antonoli, Denise Schiesser, and Daniel (Diana) Schiesser; her grandchildren, Kayleigh Schiesser, Emma D’Antonoli, Jacob Schiesser, Grace D’Antonoli, Ana Schiesser; her sister, Angela Ruggiero, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in 1934, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Pearl (nee Gleason) Bush. Janice grew up in North Tonawanda, later lived in Elma, retired to Lakeland, FL and recently moved to Peabody, MA to be near her daughter. Janice worked at Crown Agency in North Tonawanda for many years before raising her children. In her retirement, she enjoyed sewing and selling crafts at numerous craft fairs. For many years, she organized a teddy bear drive for the Salvation Army in Lakeland, FL with the teddy bears going to children in crisis. She was married to Alton W. Cook for 39 years before his death in 2003 and is survived by her children, Peter Cook of Atlanta, GA and Marlene Cook of Stoneham, MA. Also surviving are grandchildren Lauren (Joshua) Brown, Christopher, Alexander and Caroline Cook, and great-grandchildren, Bayleigh and Carter Brown. Janice is also survived by her sisters Nancy Leising and Sandra Gaulocher and her husband John, all of East Amherst and sister-in-law June Bush of North Tonawanda. She was surrounded by her family and friends. Janice was born April 27, 1957, a daughter of the late John T. and Lorraine (Mack) Paonessa of the Town of Niagara. Janice was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, graduating from LaSalle Senior High School Class of 1975. She married Robert J. Craig on September 11, 1976. Janice was a much loved employee of Teva Pharmaceuticals in North Tonawanda for nearly 30 years. Janice enjoyed scrapbooking, creating books for milestone events as well as books for past generations of her family. She took a yearly trip to Ellicottville for scrapbooking with her family and friends. An event she truly loved to attended. She had a great love for pets, not only her two resident cats, but all of the four legged family members. As her husband’s job took him to different cities, Janice enjoyed being able to visit those places and see the country. She was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan enjoying each week’s game with her family. In addition to her loving husband of 40 years, Janice is survived by two children, Sara Craig and Joseph (Katie Ross) and her beloved grandson, Daxton Craig; sisters, Cathy (Melvin) Wagner; Lori (Richard Drabczyk) Poanessa; brother in law, Gary (Pamela) Craig; several aunts, uncles and many adored nieces and nephews. She traveled extensively to help so many in need. She also served on its Board of Directors. Born on December 22, 1939, in North Tonawanda, NY, to William and Ida (Karkau) Janowsky, he is survived by his beloved wife Barbara "Bonnie" Adornetto; his three children, Bill (Timberley) Janowsky, Lynn (James) Nohe, and Cheryl (Marcelino) Vicente; and his four loving grandchildren, Faith, Anthony, Gabrielle, and Olivia. Before retirement, Dale was a professor of accounting at Buffalo State College and Niagara University. If you knew Dale, you remember his quick wit, elaborate storytelling, and sharp mind. His children have many memories of losing to him at pinochle and other card games around the dining room table. His grandchildren will think of him with a sparkle in his blue eyes and a cookie in his front shirt pocket. Loved by every dog he met, Dale enjoyed long walks at Buckhorn or Beaver Island with his furry companions throughout the years. After retiring, he and his wife Bonnie spent many winter months in St. George Island, FL. Dale requested a private family memorial celebrating his life. There will be no formal service. Forgione, 87, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony and Marianna (Cammarata) Forgione. Frank was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Afterwards he attended Cornell University, and in 1949 graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. On May 4, 1957, he married Carmella B. (Baccelli) Forgione at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Following their marriage they moved to Lewiston, NY, where he has lived until the present time. Frank served in the New York State National Guard and achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel. From 1949 until 1951, he also worked for the Army Corp of Engineers. In 1951, Frank became a managing partner of his family's business, Forgione Lumber Co. in Niagara Falls. In 1979, he was named the City of Niagara Falls Engineer and worked at the Waste Water Plant as a Utilities Engineer. In October 1992, he was appointed Director of the Niagara Falls Drinking Water Plant where he worked until his retirement in 1996. Frank was a longtime active member and charter member of the Upper Mt. Volunteer Fire Company in Lewiston, NY. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, as well as a member of their Holy Name Society. Frank was also a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 247 in Niagara Falls, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the NYS Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Military Engineers, and member of the University of Notre Dame Buffalo and Western New York Alumni Club with whom he was a member of their board of directors, and in 1982, was the recipient of their Man of the Year Award for his faithful and continuous service to the Alumni Club. He was a longtime member of the Niagara Falls YMCA where he would swim daily. Frank was also multilingual and spoke several languages fluently. Mr. Forgione's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence for the love and compassionate care given to Frank. Karen was born May 20, 1937 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Horatio A. and Elizabeth "Pearl" (Printup) Jones and grew up on the Tuscarora Nation, a member of the Deer Clan. She married Lamont H. Kneeppel on April 14, 1973. Karen was ordained a Minister by the Bible Time Ministries and had served as Pastor of the Tuscarora Indian Mission from 1987 to 1998, at which time her son, Rev. Donald A. Robinson, became pastor. She was also the Eastern Region Representative for the American Baptist Indian Caucus for two terms. Previous to her Ministry, Karen had worked for the Niagara Gazette delivering papers in the1970s; had worked for Paul Baker Farms; and had been an Avon Representative for many years. She was also a member of the Tuscarora Baptist Church. She was an avid NY Yankees fan. In addition to her husband, Lamont, she is survived by three daughters, Karla (John) Baker, Khris (John) Van-Arx and Stephanie Smith; two sons, Rev. Donald (Alexis) Robinson and Kent G. Robinson; a son-in-law, James Davis; three step-sons, Marvin (Carol) Kneeppel, Wayne (Barbara) Kneeppel and Richard (Sharon) Robinson; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was born on January 12, 1926 in Ansonville, Ontario Canada to the late Mary (nee Laflame) and Leonel Veillette. She was educated in Ontario and moved to Niagara Falls at the age of 16. On July 1, 1944, the former Rachel R. Veillette married Rene Routhier in Sacred Heart Church. He passed away April 28, 1994. Mrs. Routhier worked in food service as a cook for the Nabisco Co. for over 15 years and retired from Niagara Community College after ten years of service. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, and former member of the Altar and Rosary Society of Immaculate Conception Church in Ransomville. Rachel is survived by two daughters, Theresa (Don) Garrison of Albion, NY, Jean (Tim) Kremer of Niagara Falls, NY; seven loving grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her late husband, two of her children, the late Donald and Shirley Routhier and a sister, the late Jean Lampman. There will be no prior visitation. Harold was a Cabinet Maker, employed by Kittinger Furniture in Buffalo for 17 years. He retired in 1980. Previous to that, Harold worked for Richmond Manufacturing, Richardson Boat Company in North Tonawanda, and had built houses. He was a long-time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge where he had served on numerous committees through the years. Harold enjoyed traveling, bowling, fishing and the Cambria Friendship Club. In addition to his wife, Leona, he is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Michael) Polizzi of West Falls, NY and Sharon (Charles) Fleming of Lafayette, IN; his grandsons, Michael J.
