He was the husband of the late Roberta (Klail) Harder. Beloved father of William (Marilyn) Harder of Palatine, IL, and Lawrence (Lisa) Harder of Ridgefield, CT. Grandfather of Alicia and Michael Harder.

8904 Laverne Henry "Hank" Hardy joined our Lord’s kingdom on Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Salinas, CA.  Our Dad was gardening when he suddenly collapsed.  He never regained consciousness and died later that night surrounded by the love of family.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, workout partner, gardening partner and a great friend to many! 
He spent the last 17 years of his life enjoying life’s bounty, traveling, gardening, working out at the YMCA and enjoying California sunshine with his soulmate, Ann.
Born February 9, 1927 in Tonawanda, New York, Laverne was the only child of Henry William and Emma Marie (Helwig) Hardy.
During WWII he served in the Navy, as a Electronics Technician, Chief Petty Officer 3rd Class.
Hank earned a BS in Physics at Cornell University and his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Buffalo State University.
He was a scientist and teacher.   His work included the development of the first color televisions and electrical resistors, receiving several patents for his efforts. Laverne taught Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at Niagara Community College, Penn State University and the Lewisburg, PA, Federal Prison.  He retired as Associate Professor of Engineering Technology at Western Kentucky University. 
Hank was a Boy Scouts leader.  He was a member of the IEEE, the SAE, the ACS, Phi Sigma Kappa, American Legion, VFW, Elks, the Masons, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Laverne was preceded in death by his first wife, of 48 years, Rosemary Hilferding Hardy, and granddaughter Ashley May.  He is survived by his second wife, Ann C. Dorman-Hardy of Salinas, CA; his children, Stephen (Jennifer) Hardy of Salinas, CA, David (Edith) Hardy, Major, Retired of North East, MD, Susan (Daniel) Faller of Bowling Green, KY, Mariellen (Richard) Pfeil  of Bowie, MD, and Paul (Melissa) Hardy of Rochester Hills, MI. He was blessed with 8 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, and 5 great grandchildren.
A family service will be held at Elmlawn Memorial Park, Town of Tonawanda, New York.

8905 Laverne Merton "Mert" Wagner passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2020 at the age of 95. He was born April 2, 1925 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of Merton Laverne Wager and Florence Metz Wager.
Mert graduated from LaSalle High School, then was a voluntary inductee into the US Navy Seabees. A veteran of WWII, he served in the South Pacific (New Guinea) theatre for three years.
Mert married Dorothy Johnson on December 22, 1945. He worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Company for 34 years, first as a hot stick lineman, then ended his career as an administrator for the Trouble Department in Buffalo. They lived in the Town of Wheatfield during those years.
After retirement, they summered in Dansville, NY, where he had built a summer getaway, and wintered in Tucson, AZ.
Mert was an exceptionally talented man. He built two homes and two cabins, did carpentry work on the side, and had a "Yankee Workshop" at their home, making early American furniture.
Mert was also an amazing artist - self-taught. He got serious about painting at the age of 40, using mostly acrylic paints. He completed well over 1,000 paintings in the last 50 years. His favorite subjects were western art, horses, birds, and Amish scenes. His paintings are held by collectors all over the USA, and his pride and joy was "White Horse," a painting of an Indian that was presented to the Crown Prince of Japan in 1974.
Mert was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Amy; his son, Christopher (Robin); and an "adopted" brother, Daniel Brown. He is survived by daughters, Jane (Gerald Lynn) Williams and Penny (Tim) Simpson; grandchildren, Megan Moelbert, Marnie Aldrow, Thomas Sayle, Katrina Evans, Adam Simpson, Michael Wager, Zinah Wager and Christine Catlin; and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Derek, Anya, Ginny, Carter, Harper, and Steven.
A private celebration of his life will be held at future date and those who wish to contribute in his memory may do so to the Hope United Methodist Church 2914 Upper Mountain Rd. Sanborn, New York 14132.

8906 Lavina A. Moll (Walck), age 83, died February 21, 2002 at her residence in Bergholz, and formerly lived in Lockport. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY on May 1, 1918 to Christian and Ida (Haseley) Walck. She was a homemaker for most of her life, a lifelong member of St. James Ev. Lutheran Church in Bergholz and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include one son, Leonard (Carol) Moll of Bergholz. She was predeceased by her husband, Erwin Moll on January 2, 1974; a brother, Harold Schmidt; stepbrothers, Clarence and Richard Schmidt; and stepsisters, Hilda Jensen and Edna Schumacher
Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Saturday from 7-9 P.M. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Services will be conducted by the Rev. David B. Menz on Monday at 11:00 A.M. in St. James Ev. Lutheran Church, corner of Niagara Road and Rohr Street in Bergholz. Interment in the church cemetery, Town of Wheatfield. 8907 LaVonne M. (Gordon) Hill, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, died on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Schoellkopf Health Care Center. She was 89. She was born in Niagara Falls, New York, on May 14, 1927, the daughter of James E. and Hilda (Bach) Gordon. 
LaVonne attended local schools and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. She was employed by the Carborundum Company as a pricing analyst. Having her degree in business, she volunteered as a tax preparer for AARP. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross. 
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry M. Hill; daughter, Christine D. Chase; her granddaughter, Stephanie Lewis; and brother-in-law, Robert Hill. She is survived by her children, James G. Hill, Janice (Theodore) Lewis; son-in-law, Roy Chase; in-laws, Arthur Hill and Barbara Krull; grandchildren, Angela (Marco) Fiorucci; Phillip (Christine) Chase; Brandie (Mike) Naccarato; Jennifer Sieck; Jessica (Eric) O'Grady, James Hill II, and Maggie Garito; and 16 great grandchildren. 
Private services and burial will be held Thursday in White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery.

8908 Lawrence A. Neubauer
DuPont Tinsmith served in Army during WW II
Lawrence A. Neubauer, 82, formerly of LaSalle Ave., died Saturday (Jul 6, 1996) at St. Mary's Manor nursing home after a lengthy illness. He was borm May 19, 1914 in Niagara Falls, the son of George and Mathilda (Fritz) Neubauer. He attended local schools and was a 1933 graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School. Mr. Neubauer was employed for several years at the Kimberly Clark corporation, befor serving in the Philippines with the US Army Tank Corp. during WW II. He was then employed as a tinsmith with E. I. DuPont Co., Niagara plant where he worked for more than 30 years. He retired in 1976. A member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church, he served in various capacities, including elder and head usher. He also bowled in the church league. Mr. Neubauer was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the DuPont 25 year club. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lily "Joan" Bond of Niagara Falls, a son Richard Neubauer of Castleberry, Fla., two sisters, Winifred Meade of Lyons and Dorothy Albright of Lewiston; a brother Richard Neubauer of Lewiston, five grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Roy Neubauer. Visitation wil be from 2-4, and 7-9 pm today at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road. The Rev. Gary Luderman will conduct services at 2 pm. Tuesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2759 Military Road. Burial will be in Acacia Park, Cemetery, Pendleton.

8909 Lawrence C. “Larry” Harris of the Town of Niagara passed away peacefully on Friday, July 2, 2021 at his son’s home while receiving care from Niagara Hospice and his loving family.  He was born on May 18, 1949, a son of William and Beatrice “Helen” (McCoy) Harris.  He attended local schools.  
Larry was employed at Delphi as a forklift operator for over 30 years.
When time allowed, Larry loved to work on cars, his passions were muscle and classic cars;   attending car shows; and watching NASCAR.  He also enjoyed camping, cooking and grilling ribs for the family.  
He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Laura L. (Greene) Harris on August 12, 2016.  He is survived by three children, Sheila (Marc) Barone; Paul (Sara) Harris; and Greg (Michelle) Harris; grandchildren, Kayla Fiel; Paul Harris, Jr; Marc Barone; Billy Harris; Jenna Barone; Victoria “Tori” Harris; Elizabeth Flowe;  Morgan Gorrow; Colin Harris; Christopher Harris; Brayden Harris and Harper Harris; three siblings, Sharon (Don)  Northcutt; Reenie (David) Giffin and Carl Harris; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  
Family present Friday, July 9, 2021 from 4-7 PM  in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where services will be held following the visitation at 7 PM.

8910 Lawrence Eckler, Sr., of Wilson, NY, passed away October 19, 2018. He was born January 10, 1933 in Buffalo, NY.
Prior owner of Eckler Propane Service for many years and also drove school bus for Ridge Road Express for over 50 years.
Survived by Lawrence (Lisa) Eckler, Jr., Daniel Eckler and David Eckler, four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; his dog, Snap; and longtime friend, Cheryl Johnson.
No calling hours. Memorial Service to be held October 27, 2018 at 2 PM at Christ Community Church, 140 Genesee St., Lockport, NY.

8911 Lawrence Fish a lifelong resident of the Tuscarora Nation passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 after a full and adventurous life. He was 91 years old, born in Buffalo, NY on October 25, 1927, the son of the late Fred and Lillian (Henry) Fish. 
Lawrence was a hard worker and took good care of his family. He was an iron worker with Local #9working on Lewiston Queenston Bridge, St. Mary's Hospital and many other local landmarks. He alsoran a junkyard with his son Fish's Auto for many years in the 1970's.  Upon retirement, he made a roadtrip to Alaska with a friend.   He married the former Clara Patterson on February 19, 1954 and this year they celebrated 65 yearstogether. They raised their family at Tuscarora and one of his happiest accomplishments was buildingtheir home, where he still resided and continued to chop his own wood for his woodstove.  Lawrence had a quirky sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping,gardening, collecting old tractors and crosses,  talking on the CB radio as "Super Chief" and still rodehis bike.  A lifelong member of the Tuscarora Baptist Church, he was a brother in the Lord to the late Rev. R.Dean Baker. His favorite verses were Exodus 3:13 & 14 and Philippians 4:19.   He was also alifelong friend and good neighbor to Jerry Jonathan enjoying their visits as well as many laughsand food shared together.  In addition to his wife Clara, he is survived by  his children Loren (Marian) Fish, Sharon (Jack)Kepp and Nadine (Jimmy) Printup, also  9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3great-great grandchildren. He was the son-in-law of the late Percy and Eleanor Patterson. Lawrence very generously desired to donate his body to UB Medical School.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Tuscarora Baptist Church,2208 Mt. Hope Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Walter A. Printup, III officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined.  Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice.

Falls native was active in many organizations
LEWISTON - Lawrence G. Fischer, 83, of Saunders Settlement I Road, died Thursday (June 26, 1997) at his home, which he built and had lived in since 1939. He was born Oct. 13, 1913, in Niagara Falls, the son of the John and Catherine (Schul) Fischer. He was a 1931 graduate of Niagara Falls High School and attended Niagara University and the State University at Buffalo. On Oct. 7, 1939 he married Bernice "Nellie" Stoltz in Lewiston. Mr. Fischer was the director of purchasing at Chisholm-Ryder in Niagara Falls for 36 years, retiring in 1978. He was a lifelong member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. He also served as Sunday school superintendent, a church council member, a pastoral assistant and he served on several committees including Christian education, music and worship, and building and finance. Mr. Fischer was a member of the Free and Associated Masons Lodge 1049; a charter member of the Lewiston Fire Co. 2, where he served as past president; a member or the exempt Firemen' s Benevolent Association; a past president of the Niagara County Volunteer Firemen's Association; a Life Member of the Western New York and New York state volunteer firemen's associations; and a life member of the Purchasing Management Association of Buffalo. He served on the Lewiston School District 9 School Board and helped centralize the Niagara-Wheatfield Central School District. He was a charter member of the Niagara River Anglers Association and a member of the Sunshine Senior Citizens Club and the American Association of Retired Persons. Mr. Fischer enjoyed making wooden bird models and was a member of the Rainbow Wood Carvers Association and the National Wood Carvers Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Gall Hubbard of Centreville, Va., and Nancy Kessler of West Seneca; three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Lucinda Nash, Anna Haseley, Carola Griffith, Leah Zeiger and William Fischer. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road, Town of Niagara, where a Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Dwight Wascom will conduct services at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1010 Michigan Ave., Niagara Falls. Interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery. 8913 Lawrence J. Quigliano, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on July 28, 2016 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Joseph Anthony and Annette (Runfalo) Quigliano.

Larry was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. He attended local schools including the former Trott Vocational High School. On April 14, 1956 he married Shirley S. (Serrianni) Quigliano at the former Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. Quigliano predeceased him on December 25, 2013. Larry began his career in the trucking industry working for Spina Trucking Co. and Friona Brothers Trucking. He later founded Quigliano Waterproofing, a company he successfully ran until the mid 1980’s. Afterwards he went on to work alongside his son Lawrence in the family business, L.J. Quigliano II, Inc. Larry was actively involved in several social and fraternal organizations throughout the area which included, Dante’s Social Club, Stadium Grill, The Judges and Police Executive Conference of Niagara County, LaSalle Sportsman Club, LaSalle Yacht Club, Sertoma Club and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 247.

Mr. Quigliano’s family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to Dr. Philip Sauvageau and his staff, as well as Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital for their compassionate care.

Mr. Quigliano is survived by his two sons, Joseph A. (Laura Kosut) Quigliano of Niagara Falls, and Lawrence J. (Joelyn) Quigliano II of Wheatfield; six grandchildren, Christina Quigliano, Joseph Quigliano, Vincenzo Quigliano, Gianna Quigliano, Dom Kosut, D.J. Kosut, and one great-grandson James Michael Dipronio. He is also survived by his sisters, Annette (late Mil) McCormick, Lena (late Claude) Morningstar, Mary (late Bill) Kubas, Carrie (late Dick) Gibbons, Alice (late Dom) Elia, Delores (Guido) Mistriner, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Karen) Colton, Donna (late Joseph) Nasca, Anthony (Joann) Serrianni as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Ann (late Leo) Cicero, Josephine (late Ed) Zahno, two brothers, Frank (late Angie) Quigliano, Salvatore (late Jean) Quigliano and his brother-in-law, Gary Serrianni.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 - 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Wednesday August 3rd at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY. QUIGLIANO, Lawrence J (I101963)
 
8914 Lawrence J. “Larry” D’Antuono, 66, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019, surrounded by his loving family at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Antonio and Antoinette (Conny) D’Antuono; and beloved husband of Judy (Mamon) D’Antuono, who he married May 9, 1987. 
Larry was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. He began working as a Millwright and Molder at Frontier Foundries for several years prior to its relocation in 1991. He also worked for many years at General Abrasive and the Treibacher Corporation. Larry later retired from Delphi in 2011 after serving as a Millwright.
Larry enjoyed playing golf, and socializing with friends and family. He especially enjoyed vacationing to Las Vegas and bowling in local leagues with his wife.
In addition to his wife of 32 years, Mr. D’Antuono is survived by his children Tina (David) Faccini and Crystal Lovines; step-children, Paul (Stefeny) Cook and Peter Cook; son-in-law, James Lovines; six beloved grandchildren; his siblings, Dario D’Antuono, Antonio (Luann) D’Antuono, Joseph (Linda) D’Antuono, Lewis (Florence) D’Antuono, Rose (Thomas) Dorgan, Shirley D’Antuono Racine, and Jack (Janine) D’Antuono, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by five siblings, Robert D’Antuono, Guido D’Antuono, Mario D’Antuono, Genevieve ‘Jenny’ (late Lawrence) Chiarenza and Olga (James) Allen.
Mrs. D’Antuono and her family would like to thank the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute, the Visiting Nurses Association and Niagara Hospice for the compassionate care given to Larry during his illness.

Lawrence ‘Larry’ Janese, Sr., of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on his 83rd Birthday, December 16, 2024, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Anne (Pucci) Janese.
Larry attended local schools in Niagara Falls.  On January 19, 1963, he married Carol A. (Doll) Janese.  Mrs. Janese predeceased him on August 11, 2009.  Larry was employed as a Truck Driver for Occidental Chemical Corporation in Niagara Falls, NY for over 30 years until his retirement in 1992.  He was a diehard Raiders Football fan, and also enjoyed frequenting the casino and bowling.  Known for being a true character and a jokester, he often referred to himself as ‘The Mayor’.  Above all, he cherished the time that he spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
Lawrence is survived by his sons, Lawrence ‘Larry’ (Darlene) Janese, Jr. and Donald Mark Janese; his grandchildren, Adam Janese, Lawrence ‘Larry’ (Sara) Janese, III, Tiffany Peterson, Timothy Steele, Tabitha Janese, and Treavor Janese; his great-grandchildren, Sofia Janese, Lillie Janese, Ava Peterson, William Peterson, Brenda Peterson, Deanna Peterson, Evelyn Peterson, and Amaya Steele; his siblings, Ron (Claudia) Janese, Shirley Hare, and Edward Janese; his longtime friend, Arlene Heisner, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to his wife of 46 years, he was predeceased by his siblings, Frank D. (Rose) Janese, Mike D. Janese, and Rudy D. (late Jean) Janese.

8916 Lawrence John Jeffords, 54, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, in Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on March 4, 1961, the son of Anne (Russ) Jeffords and the late Norman T. Jeffords.
Mr. Jeffords graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1979 and later attended St. Bonaventure University in Cattaraugus County before graduating in 1983 from the State University of New York at Albany where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He served as a legislative aide to New York State Senator John B. Daly during three legislative sessions as an undergraduate. He received a Presidential Award for Undergraduate Research at SUNY Albany. Mr. Jeffords was an award-winning sales and marketing representative for various nationwide distributors. Throughout his career, he traveled extensively throughout the United States, and was based in Albany, Atlanta, Boston, Buffalo and New York City. He was actively involved in civic pursuits including as founding Executive Board Member of the North Creek/South Creek Playground Challenge, raising funds for the design and creation of a local community playground near his former home in Cheektowaga, NY. He was the president of his Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) at Sacred Heart parish in Niagara Falls, NY. He was an avid music fan, and often entertained friends and family with his sing-song riffs and jokes. He was an accomplished writer who was working on a book of comedic short stories. He enjoyed following the Buffalo Sabres NHL hockey team and the Buffalo Bills NFL team.

In addition to his beloved mother, he is survived by two daughters, Erin E. Jeffords and Alison M. Jeffords, his former wife Denise Gennaro of Clarence, NY, one brother Mark C. Jeffords of Buffalo, NY, three sisters Jeanette M. Judd of Niagara Falls, NY, Marcia J. (Kevin) McNallie of East Aurora, NY and Andrea C. (Mark) Turner of Cleveland Heights, OH, also three nieces and two nephews.

He will be fondly missed for his irreverent, yet beloved sense of humor, sharp wit and generous spirit by his extended family and dear friends.

The family will be present on Saturday, from 9-10 AM in the church foyer of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating.

8917 Lawrence Joseph Banks died after a brief illness on March 9, 2023 in Lockport Rehab and Health Care Facility. Born June 28, 1938 in Niagara Falls he was a son of the late George and Ruth (Malloy).
A 1956 graduate of Wilson High School, he entered the Army in 1956 to 1957. A lifelong carpenter belonging to Local 280 of Niagara Falls, he also owned his business Kenner Construction in Wilson. He retired in 2017 as the Town of Wilson Building Inspector also taking on the village as part of his responsibilities. Lawrence met Diane Reppentine in 1966 and they were married for 56 years.
Surviving besides his wife are two sisters, Mary (Mark) Pioli and Margaret Moore; two daughters Tracey (John) Malloy, Sherri (Craig) Roath; four grandsons Mason Timian, Brian and James Malloy and Owen Timian. Predeceasing besides his parents are Teresa Webster, Adrian and Paul Banks.

8918 Lawrence R. Andrews, age 66, a resident of Wilson, NY, entered into rest late Monday, September 19, 2011, at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane, with his family by his side. Born in Lockport on August 26, 1945, he was the son of Harry Franklin and Winifred "Kate" (Wheeler) Andrews and was raised in Barker, NY.. Most beloved husband of Shelley (Mawhiney) Andrews to whom he was wed on November 20, 1971. Lawrence is survived by his three children, Chad (Kristen) Andrews of Newfane, Kyle (Jamie) Andrews of Wilson, and Jenna (fiance' Steve Schanz) Andrews of Cicero, NY.. The greatest joy in his life was his family and providing for them. A strong, proud and compassionate man, he was there for anyone that needed him at all times. Lawrence was a member of Exley United Methodist Church in Wilson, the Wilson Lions Club, Charlotteville Masonic Lodge No. 73 in Newfane, and volunteer for the Wilson Historical Society. He enjoyed reading the daily newspapers, watching sporting events, working outdoors, and spending time with his wife and children.. Lawrence was an in-country Vietnam veteran. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 attaining the rank of SGT. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Metal, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device, Vietnam Service Medal W/2 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry W/Palm, Vietnam Civil Actions Medal W/OLC. Upon his return from service, Lawrence and Shelley operated two small businesses, The Tasty Freeze in Lockport and Pekin Market in Sanborn. He also worked for over 23 years at Akzo Nobel Chemical in Newfane.. In addition to his children, he is also survived by his three beloved grandchildren, Madison Andrews, Macy Andrews, and Theodore Andrews; his three siblings, brother, David (Lynn) Andrews of Albion, NY, sister Maureen (Robert) Ronson of Kyle, TX, and brother, Kalman (Carolyn) Andrews of Biloxi, MS, and predeceased by his brother, Harry "Butch" Andrews.. Born here, be was the son of William and Lula Leggett. He operated a farm at his home. He was a former member of the Ransomville Exempt Firemen and of the Dickersonville Methodist Church. He was a member and served on the committee of the Niagara Cooperative Extension Service and was a former member of the North Ridge Baseball Team. Survivors include his wife, Pearl (Pheffer) Leggett of this hamlet; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony (June) Moshano of Ontario, N.Y.; two sons, Robert and William Leggett both of here; a brother Durwood Leggett of here and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial for Lawrence W. Julian, 91, of Willow Avenue, a DuPont retiree, will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 11th Street and South Avenue.

Julian died Friday (April 19, 1996) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

He was a chemical operator for E.I. DuPont de Nemours for 30 years until retiring in 1969.

Before that, he worked for the City of Niagara Falls from 1929 to 1939.

He was a 25-year member of the DuPont Retirement Club and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church.

He was the husband of the former Jean V. McClosky, who died in August 1976.

He is survived by a daughter, June Buffone; a son, Paul M.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

8921 Lawrence ‘Larry’ A. Morreale, 73, of Youngstown, NY, passed away on September 22, 2021 at his residence under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Rose I. (Giancola) Morreale.
Larry graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in 1966 and St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana in 1970 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.  Larry spent his working life in the printing and direct marketing fields, beginning his career at Moore Business Forms.  Most recently, he was employed for 20 years as a Sales & Marketing Professional with Matrix Imaging.  Larry was an avid golfer and member of Niagara Falls Country Club, where he won many tournaments, including the Senior Championship.  He also enjoyed boating and jet skiing in Wilson, NY.  Above all, Larry will be remembered for his generosity and loving and caring nature.
Larry is survived by his longtime love, Deborah K. Nichols, his children, Joseph D. (Cindy) Morreale and Nicholas T. (Morgan) Morreale; his grandchildren, Jonathan Morreale, Haley Morreale, Bridget Morreale, and Dino Lawrence Morreale; Deborah’s children; his siblings, Angelo (Louisa) Morreale, Gene (Mary) Morreale, and Robin ‘Rob’ (Donna) Morreale, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leah retired from Harrison Radiator Corporation. She was a talented porcelain painter and taught painting for over 40 years, finally retiring at age 89 years old.
Leah was predeceased by her husband, Edward Finn; and brother, Eugene Marzo.

8928 Ledyard - James Robert Haskell, 99, of Gales Ferry, passed away Nov. 27, 2023, after a brief illness.

He was born in Washington, D.C. in 1924, the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Roy T. Haskell. James graduated from Lockport High School in New York in 1942, and the New York State Merchant Marine Academy in 1944, where he received a commission in the U.S. Navy as an Ensign and a Third Mate's license in the Merchant Marine. He served on Merchant Marine ships during World War II and was present in Antwerp during the Battle of the Bulge.

During the Korean War he was on active duty with the U.S. Navy, serving as a Lieutenant Commander with the 6th Fleet, on the minesweeper USS Sprig. Following retirement from the U.S. Navy he received a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Buffalo, and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was employed as an engineer at Electric Boat in Groton for 29 years, retiring in 1991.

He is survived by his sons, Robert and Thomas of Gales Ferry, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Eileen Haskell; his brother Roy of Feura Bush, N.Y.; and his sister Virginia (Hill) of Norwich.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gales Ferry. Interment will follow at Avery-Stoddard Cemetery in Ledyard.

Lee graduated from Starpoint Central School and Orleans Niagara BOCES. 

He was a tool & die maker with Voss Manufacturing for over 25 years. Lee loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

8930 Lee C. Horn, Sr,. of Wilson, NY, and Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on December 11, 2021, after a brief illness, with his family at his side. Born May 22, 1947, Lee was the son of the late Oscar and Lillian Horn.
Lee retired from Harrison Radiator/Delphi after more than 40 years, where he was a Millwright. He was a member of the Punta Gorda Elks, Past Commander of The United States Power Squadron Lockport District, a Past Commodore at Olcott Yacht Club as well as a very active member of Island Yacht Club in Wilson, where he was serving on the Board of Directors at the time of his passing. He was an avid boater who loved to travel and make new friends along the way.
Lee and his wife, Joanne, spent six years living aboard their boat full time, traveling between NY and Florida on the ICW, and during that time completed the "Great Loop," which is a 6,000-mile water route that circumnavigates the eastern part of the U.S., and part of Canada. They also traveled the iconic Route 66 from start to finish, toured Hawaii, and Alaska, visiting 48 of our 50 States.
Lee most loved spending time with his family and his many wonderful friends. He always had a smile on his face and a helping hand to offer. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Lee was the Pendleton Town Justice from 1982 until his retirement in 2006, a position he was honored to hold.
Lee was a WWII veteran serving in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1946. He was employed at GM Harrison Radiator as an engineer for 25 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the New York State Magistrates Association, Judges and Police, Pendleton Historical Society and St. Paul's United Church of Christ-Shawnee.
Lee was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Betty, who passed away on February 11, 2017.
He is survived by a son L. Cort (Trina) Klein, a daughter Kris (Douglas) McLean and brother-in-law Clyde (late Gretchen) Peters. He was predeceased by a brother Dean (late Artha) Klein. Also surviving are three step grandchildren, one great step granddaughter along with several nieces and nephews.

8932 Lee Wadsworth Bickford, age 98, formerly of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 10, 2016 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness. Born in Wilson, NY, on August 31, 1918, Lee was the son of the late Evelyn (Carrigan) and Frank Bickford and was a 1937 graduate of Wilson High School. On October 31, 1940, he married Lucille Jane Buck and they enjoyed 40 years together until her death in June, 1980. He was drafted in the Army during World War II and spent the majority of his time working at Muroc Army Air Base, where he worked at a secret testing facility near Muroc Dry Lake, working on the XP-59A, the first American jet aircraft. After working for Bell Aerospace and Cataract Ice, he became the sole proprietor of Bickford's Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service in September 1950. He then worked for Edwards High Vacuum on Grand Island. As a handyman at heart, he was always tinkering and enjoyed remodeling his home. He is survived by three daughters, Nancy J. (Angel) Martinez of Niagara Falls, Patricia A. Bickford of Richmond, VA, and Kathy M. (Christopher) Cosgrove of New Milford, CT; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Lee W. (Susan) Bickford on April 5, 2016 and Gary P. Bickford on August 22, 2016; and a brother, Franklin Bickford. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Friday, October 14, 2016, at 12:30 PM in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. Flowers are gratefully declined. 8933 Lee – Louise W. Doebler Lee (nee Pankow), 85, of North Tonawanda, Friday (Nov 21, 1975) in Port Orange, FL. Mrs. Lee was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the Senior Citizens of North Tonawanda and was a resident of North Tonawanda for the greater part of her life.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hyrum (Dollie) Hayes of Port Orange, Fla.; 16 grand children; 26 great grand children. She was the mother of the late Doloris Beckett, Wilbert Doebler and LaVern Doebler.

Our dear mother quietly and peaceful passed into the hands of her trusted and beloved heavenly Father on Sept. 22, 2021. Born April 6, 1926 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Albert and Helen Leising (Seefreid). Growing up in the challenging times of the great depression gave her a perspective that influenced her and her family in many positive ways. She understood and valued both church and community. Her love and faith never wavered. She lived it. It comforted her and provided the moral compass that guided her behavior and directly influenced the raising of her family. She married the love of her life (Carl) after he returned from fighting in WWII, with the Marines 2nd Division from the south Pacific, on Feb. 19, 1949, at St. John the Baptist Church in Lockport, NY. She graduated from Niagara University as a Registered Nurse, and worked at Lockport Memorial Hospital, and for Dr. Crosby. They retired to Southern Pines, NC to their golf course community, were she played golf often and even got her hole in one there. They lived in Southern Pines for 27 years. She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, bowling, bridge, canasta and volunteered with the adult literacy program. She also helped publish a cookbook with other ladies from her parish. She instilled a sense of confidence in her children and helped make them secure in their lives and confident in their work. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 12 of her 14 siblings; brothers Jim, Albert, Vincent, Norman (Annie), Robert (Barbara); sisters included Mildred, Rita Laubacker, Odealla Allen, Zita Allen, Erma Gray, Ruth Huber, Sylvia Hann; survived by sisters Norma Pfohl of Clarence Center, and Joan (Bob) Walker, in Pinehurst, NC; her seven children, Mark (Barbara), Lockport and Florida, Sally Pawlik (Peter) of Hamburg, NY and Florida; John, OH., Judy Giazzon (Benjamin) of Lockport, Paul of Tucson, AZ. Leland W. Sherwood, 50, of 3700 Lockport Road, Sanborn, died Saturday (Aug. 19, 1972) in the Alexandria Hospital, Alexander Bay, shortly after being admitted. He was on vacation in that area and suffered an apparent heart attack. He was a native of Sanborn and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy; He was employed at the Niagara Mohwak Power Corp. as an electrician for more than 20 years. He was an exempt member of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company, and of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Christ, at Shawnee. Survivors include his widow, Alice (Lemke) Sherwood; two sons, Timothy G., and Dan R. Sherwood and a daughter, Karen M. Sherwood, all at home; his father, Glen Sherwood of Sanborn; three brothers, Dale G. Sherwood of Layton, Utah, Robert E. Sherwood of Texas and Clayton E. Sherwood of Sanborn; three sisters, Mrs. John (Vesta) Snelgrove, Mrs. Edward (Marian) Forth, both of Sanborn, and Mrs. John (Donna) Valery of Lockport. 8941 Lena (Quigliano) Morningstar, 93 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on March 7, 2017 at Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Annette (Runfalo) Quigliano. 
Lena was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and attended local schools.  For several years, she worked as an office clerk at St. Mark’s Parish in Buffalo, and was a longtime volunteer at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Lewiston.  Lena took great pleasure in being a homemaker, and especially enjoyed cooking, baking and babysitting her nieces and nephews.  
Lena was predeceased by her husband, Claude L. Morningstar and son, Wayne “Butchie” Morningstar.  She is survived by four sisters, Annette (late Mil) McCormick, Carrie (late Dick) Gibbons, Alice (late Dom) Elia and Delores (Guido) Mistriner, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was also predeceased by three sisters, Ann (late Leo) Cicero, Josephine (late Ed) Zahno, Mary (late Bill) Kubas and three brothers, Frank (late Angie) Quigliano, Salvatore (late Jean) Quigliano and Lawrence (late Shirley) Quigliano, Sr.

8943 Lena Scrivani, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at O.L.P Nursing Care Residence. Born in Central City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Angelo C. and Lena (Barrecca) Rizzo.

Lena was raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Niagara Falls as a teenager with her family. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On July 25, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, John A Scrivani, at Mt. Carmel Church. Mr. Scrivani predeceased her on May 17, 2014 after 60 cherished years together.

Lena was employed as the manager of DuPont Credit Union for over 27 years prior to her retirement from the former Spirella Clothing Store in Niagara Falls. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to many places throughout the world including Italy, Mexico and Hawaii. They also spent the many winter seasons together in Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning the house and spending time with her family.

Above all, Lena’s greatest passion in life was to be a devoted wife and mother. She was the caretaker of the family and will be deeply missed.

Lena is survived by two daughters, Carla (Leo Sliski) Scrivani and Paula Scrivani-Phillips; and was predeceased by one daughter, Denise Scrivani-Furiosi. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James (Candice) Furiosi and Nicholas (Heather) Phillips; great-grandchildren, Cody, Colin, Jacob, Kaiden and Kryslinn; siblings Frances (late Stanley) Koshinski, Verna (late Biagio) Grossi; Mary Ann (late Douglas) Pike; Dominic “Mickey” (Gilda) Rizzo, Selma (late Hamish) Hamilton and Joseph (Maria) Rizzo; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by siblings Anthony (late Thelma) Rizzo, Angelo (late Rose) Rizzo, Samuel Rizzo, Nancy (late Dominic) Farbo and Adelphine (late Tony) Mastrolembo; her infant siblings, Saviero and Adolph Rizzo; and her husband’s parents, John A. and Elda Scrivani.

8945 Leno Pasquinelli, 93, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Toby Valley, PA, he was the son of the late John and Bruna (Banucci) Pasquinelli.
Leno was raised in Pennsylvania and attended local schools. He enlisted into the United States Navy in 1945 and served on the USS Allagash until his Honorable Discharge. Following his discharge, he moved to Niagara Falls, where he met his loving wife, Mildred (Blundy) Pasquinelli who he married on May 2, 1952.
Leno was employed by the City of Niagara Falls as head of the heating and refrigeration department until his retirement in 1990. After his retirement he continued to stay active with the city as a consultant for several years.
Leno was a longtime member of the VFW Post 917 and the Moose Lodge No. 838.  He enjoyed golfing, as well as rooting for the Buffalo Bills and his beloved New York Yankees. He was an avid bowler and especially enjoyed dropping treats off to his grandkids on the way to his league in Lewiston weekly.
Leno loved travelling to Las Vegas with his friends and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family gatherings. Above all, Leno will be remembered as a great man who was willing to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
In addition to his wife of 69 years, Leno is survived by his daughter, Sandra (David) DeFazio; his grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer (Rod) DeFazio-Cousins, Justin DeFazio, David (Breanne) DeFazio, Kimberlee, Esq. (Brendan, Esq.) DeFazio- Palfreyman; his great-grandchildren, Olivia and Gracie DeFazio, Oliver and Owen Cousins, Avery and Connor Palfreyman, and was happily awaiting another great-granddaughter. Leno is also survived by his brother, Aldo (late Geraldine) Pasquinelli and his sister-in-law, Irene Giles, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Etole (late Millie) Pasquinelli, Nello (late Eleanor) Pasquinelli, Anthony (Doris) Pasquinelli and an infant brother, George Pasquinelli.

8947 Leo I. Werth, of the Town of Cambria, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016. He was born in Lockport, NY, on May 26, 1928, the son of the late Philip and Edna [Mudd] Werth.

Mr. Werth grew up on his family farm, which he took over and ran. He was also a truck driver for R.L. Gaude in Lockport, for many years, before retiring and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Mr. Werth's passion was his horses, raising, showing and riding them was one of his favorite pass times. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to auctions and being in the out of doors.

Mr. Werth is survived by his wife of 65 years Betty J. [Kidder] Werth, one son Douglas (Linda) Werth of Gasport, one daughter Darlene (Gary Wilkins) Werth of the Town of Cambria, a granddaughter LaceyJo (Kyle) Craig, a great granddaughter RylynnJo Craig, sister Beatrice (Donald) Daigler, a sister in law Kitty Werth, also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of late Claude Werth.

8949 Leo J. Peryea, age 92, of Wheatfield, died unexpectedly, Thursday, June 16, 2016. Born Sepetember 30, 1923 in Alder Bend, New York, he was the son of the late John and Anna (nee DeBesque Miller) Peryea and had been a resident of Western New York for the greater part of his life. A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he was an Army Veteran of WWII where he served in France and was the Engineering Manager at Durez Plastics in North Tonawanda before retiring in 1988. Leo was a member of the American Legion Post 1322 in North Tonawanda and St. Matthew Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. He was a former Boy Scout leader and had been actively involved in construction of St. Paul's Lutheran School as well as many other buildings. Leo enjoyed restoring old trucks and gasoline engines.

He was the husband of the late Doris (nee Stoelting) Peryea, who died November 5, 2000; father of Kirk (Margo) Peryea of Middleport, Dorilee (Gary) Male of Malta, Dean (Roxanne) Peryea of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Lavonne May of Niagara Falls; grandfather of Joshua Peryea, Leah (Jim) Tyrrell, Anna (Pedro) Sotelo-Peryea, Mary (Lindsay) Grabau, Trevor (Sydney) Grabau, Benjamin (Shawna) Peryea, Rebecca Peryea, Ross DeWeese, Lisa Sidor, and the late Jason Weaver; great-grandfather of Jackson, Charlotte, Victor, Gunnar, Jody, Joshua, Neehah, Tori, Riley, and Macie; and brother of Norman (Claire) Peryea of Woodstock, Virginia, Christine Shepard of Vancouver, British Columbia, and ten siblings who predeceased him. 8950 Leo John Borner of Holley, passed away on October 20, 2016, at age 87. He was born in Lockport, NY, on December 31, 1928. Predeceased by his parents, Leo and Virginia Borner; siblings, George, Albert, Carol, and Rosemarie; son, David M. Borner; and son-in-law, Keith R. Hutchison.
Leo served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954 as a gunner's mate onboard the SS Hyades, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he returned to Lockport and worked for many years for NYSEG, before retiring in May 1990. He was extremely proud to serve as the Town Constable and Dog Warden for the town of Pendleton.
He enjoyed camping at Sugar Creek Glen for many years, traveling with his family and spending winters in Brandon, Florida. He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved hunting, fishing and riding his ATV. He was known to many of his friends as 'Bucky' because of his love for hunting. Leo was always a willing conversation partner as he loved to tell his many stories to family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Noreen (Delaney) Borner; children, John (Judy) Borner, Shari Hutchison, Richard (Wendy) Borner, Sheila (Brian) Marciano, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Borner; grandchildren, Nicole (Steve) Prendergast, Matthew, Amanda, Michael, Daniel, Melissa, Sara Borner, Isabella and Jessica Marciano; two sisters-in-law, Sally Rog and Mary Delaney; many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from Good Shepherd Church, 5441 Tonawanda Creek Rd., North Tonawanda, NY 14120, please assemble at church. Burial to follow with military honors at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
