Boye in a candlelight ceremony at 7:30 Saturday evening at First Presbyterian Church, Dr. Stephen K Palmer officiated at the ceremony uniting the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Clarence H. Baker of 84 Niagara St. and the son of Mr and Mrs. Victor R. Boye of 252 Willow St. Mr. Baker gave his daughter in marriage. She was attired 1B a ballerina-length gown of white lace with a redingote effect over pleated nylon and a fitted bodice Maturing a V-neckline and standop cellar. A headpiece of white lace held her fingertip veil and she carried a cascade arrangement of Fugl mums and pompons. Mrs. Edward Melzer of Buffalo, was matron of honor in a gown of green iridescent taffeta, with a tucked neckline, fitted bodice and ballerina skirt of impressed pleats. She wore a matching head band etched with seed pearls and her bouquet was of bronze pom- pons. Miss Doralyn Boye bridesmaid In an identical bie. Attending the bridegroom were Robert L. Pass, as best man, and Duane Reggentlne, Glen Werth, Don Oliver and Lavero Glena as ushers. A program of traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Patrick Madriska, organist, and James Pletcher was soloist. Per her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Baker chose a drees ef blue velvet with a feathered hat la a lighter shade ef Mae. Mrs. Boye were a dress ef plum' colored velvet with a white sequin hat. Each were a white corsage. Following a reception at Green Acres, the couple left for a wedding trip to the New England States. The bride wore a rose tweed suit with black accessories. Upon their return, the couple will reside on Harrison Avenue, 01- cott. Out-of-town guests ware from Buffalo, Hamburg, and East Aurora. The bride attended the New York State School of Applied Arts and Sciences at Utica. The groom, who served In the U. S. Navy, was graduated from the New York State School of Applied Arts and Sciences at Buffalo. Bartenstein. 64, veteran officer of the Lockport Police Department for 24 years who died Sunday morning (Oct. 13. 1957) at Lockport Memorial Hospital, will be held at 8 30 Wednesday morning at Kennedy Funeral Home and at 9 at St. John's Catholic Church. Patrolman Bartenstein, 62 Chapel St., who was admitted to the hospital Thursday, died of a heart attack. A native of Lockport, Patrol- Bartenstein appointed to the Police Department Jan. 4, 1933. He had previously served two years on the Fire Department and three on the Park Department. Patrolman Bartenstein was born in Lockport July 4, 1893, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bartenstein. He attended Lockport Senior High School and St. Mary's Parochial School. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hel- en Gray Bartenstein; three daugh ters, Miss Rosemary Bartenstein, Mrs. Roger P. Rieger and Mrs. Samuel Quagliano; two sons, La- Verne and Robert C; and 10 grandchildren. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of B. Leo Dolan Post 410, American Legion. Born Jan. 5, 1902 in Wilson, he was the husband of the late Margaret Bootes Melcher, who died in 1951. Mr. Melcher was employed for 35 years at the Niagara County Fruit Co. and retired in 1964. He had been a rural route carrier for the Buffalo Courier- Express until the time of his death. I., was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents on Wed- nesday afternoon, October 13th, at one o'clock, Rev. D. R. F. Day of Inwood, officiating. The bridal party entered the parlor to the strains of Lohengrin's wedding march, played by Miss Marjorle Crossman, and through an aisle formed by Frederick, Jr., and Whitney Barnum, brothers of the bride and Douglas and Ronald Tower, her cousins. The bride looked charming in a gown of silver green crepe, with metallc trimmings and carried white roses. She was attended by Miss Hattle Stitz, of Elma, who was attired in rose satin and carried pink roses. Elton Bell, of Niagara Falls, acted as best man. Forty-five guests were present at an elaborate dinner, which Immei dlately followed the ceremony, nine being seated at the bride's table. 9311 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 10/15/1941 Beautiful In its simplicity was the ceremony in the Trinity Lutheran church Saturday at 4 o'clock, when Miss Jeanne Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Martin of Regent avenue, became the bride of Delbert J. Behm, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Behm of the Stone road. The Rev. Herman Meier performed the ceremony before an altar adorned with white chrysanthemums, white roses, gypsophila and candelabra. Gown Is Of Taffeta, Chiffon The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white, fashioned with a full taf- , fata skirt and smocked chiffon bodice with bishop sleeves. Her finger-tip veil of illusion was caught with a tiara of white gardenias. She carried a bouquet of white roses, baby chrysanthemums and gypsophila centered with an orchid. Her only jewelry waa a single strand of pearls which belonged to her ma- ternal grandmother. The maid of honor and only attendant. Miss Dorothy M. Zimmerman wore a gown of cornflower blue faille and matching sweetheart hat with velvet streamers. She. carried a bouquet of yellow roses, baby chrysanthemums and blue corn flowers. Norman Capell, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man and ushers were Robert Washburn and Roland Washburn. The bride's mother was attractively gowned in black crepe with black accessories. She- wore a corsage of gardenias. The groom's mother wore navy blue with navy accessories and a gardenia corsage. A tiara of pearls held her elbow-length veil of French illusion and she carried a cascade arrangement of white pompons and roses centered by orchids. Mrs. Everett Fitchlee was matron of honor in a strapless, ballerina- length gown of shrimp crystalette with a bouffant skirt and matching shrug jacket. She wore a matching headpiece and slippers and carried a cascade bouquet of white pompons and shrimp color roses tied with white satin ribbon. Wearing similar gowns of turquoise were the bridesmaids, Mrs. Shirley Mazza of Akron and Miss Shirley Waters of Lyndonville. They carried bouquets of gold pompons and roses with gold satin ribbon. Susan Elck, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. Her gown was ef shrimp tulle ever taffeta with a bouffant floor-length skirt. She wore a matching headpiece and carried a bouquet similar to the matron ef honor's. William Kovach of Middleport was the best man and the ushers were John Dodge, brother of the groom, and Harold Behm, brother of the bride. Gary Fitchlee, nephew of the bride was ring bearer. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Behm chose a navy afternoon dress with beige accessories and Mrs. Dodge selected navy print taffeta with black accessories. Each wore a corsage of white carnations and pink roses. The wedding reception to 200 was held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars home on Caledonia Street, where refreshments were served from a table centered by a four-tiered wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and groom, tall tapers in candle holders and bouquets of the bridal party. Music was provided by Danny De- Nardo. When the couple left for a trip to Ohio and Indiana, the bride were a green tweed suit with red accessories and an orchid eorsage. 9328 | Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 10/18/1969 Two young Lockport men died in the burning wreckage of an auto and a third was seriously injured at 4:52 a.m. today in a two-car collision at West Avenue and Ohio Streets, Lockport. Pronounced dead at the scene by Niagara County Coroner Dr. Thomas C. Regan were: Richard W. Bartlett, 21, of 6513 Hatter Road, Newfane, and Philip J. Campman, age 22, of 6763 Minnick Road, Lockport. In Lockport Memorial Hospi tal is George Apolito, 23, of 437 Niagara St., Lockport, driver of the second car. He was reported in serious condition with multiple bruises, a lacerated left knee and internal injuries. He was to undergo surgery today. Lockport Police this morning were unable to determine which one of the two dead men was driving the car which burned. The car was owned by Mr. Campman. They said that according to their investigation, the Apolito vehicle was proceeding with the| traffic signal north on Ohio Street when his car was struck on the side by the other car which was westbound on West Avenue. The impact caused the gas tank of the Apolito vehicle to be torn free spilling gasoline over the other vehicle where it ignited. The fire was estinguished by the Lockport Fire Department and their badly burned bodies were removed from the vehicle. The fire department was on the scene until 6:30 a.m. today. Funeral arrangements for Mr. Campman are being made with the Beach & Tuyn Funeral Home at 5541 Main St., Wil- Hamsville. The funeral will be held Tuesday with friends re ceived at the funeral home tomorrow and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David J. Campman of 6763 Minnick Road. Lockport; and two sisters, Mrs. John P. Lane of 16 Highland Ave., Wiliamsville and Mrs. Lawrence J. Mitchell of Wellsboro, Pa. His brother - in - law, John Lane, is seeking the supervisors post in the Town of Amherst in the coming November elections. Mr. Campman was a con struction worker who was employed, by several companies in the Lockport area. The son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. He has been ill since Friday but the seriousness of his condition was not realized until late yesterday when he was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious condition. Lockport. be- came the bride of Linus Ball, son of Jacob Ball of Beattie avenue, the Rev. H. Keoning performing the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white slipper satin with finger-tip length veil falling from a halo of orange blossoms. Her only ornament was a strand of crystals belonging to her mother. She carried a Colonial bouquet of white pompons, gar- denias and white rosebuds showered with satin ribbon and tiny gar- denias. Mrs. David Hoehman of Clarence Center and Miss Christine Claude of Lockport, sisters of the bride, were matron of honor and bridesmain, Joan Hoehman, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Mrs. Hoehman wore a gown of plain taffeta in petunia pink and Miss Claude wore teal blue velvary taffeta. They carried Colonial bou- quets. Mrs. Hoehman's of yellow roses and blue delphinium and Miss Claude's of pink roses and blue delphinium both surrounded with baby's breath. The only ornaments worn by the attendants were gold crosses. The flower girl wore a dress of baby blue made with a bustle back, edged with pink velvet. She carried a small colonial boouquet of sweet- heart roses and white pompons. Martin Claude, brother of the bride, was best man and ushers were Earl Dickinson and Donald Claude. Mrs. John Boldt played the wedding march and Mrs. Clarence Nehr of Akron, sant "Life's Weaving." church decorations were of white pompons and gladioli and baskets of mixed flowers. A pink and blue color scheme was carried out at the home of the bride's parents, where a reception to 75 was held following the ceremony. White candles and the bride's cake decorated the bridal table, where covers were laid for 12. She had resided in North Tonawanda for the past 50 years. She was a member of the Frieden's church. Anthony Bilotta officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride chose a gown of Chan- tilly lace, ballerina-length, fash- loned With pointed long sleeves and a pointed waistline accented the votuminous skirt and low, rounded "wheat-stalked" illusion neckline. Her veil of imported Illusion extended from a poke bonnet trimmed with pearls. S h e wore a Single strand of pearls, Which was a gift of the groom Her bouquet was radiant with a white orchid and gardenias, cascaded with stephanotis on white satin streamers. BRIDE'S ATTENDANT The bride chose for her only attendant, her sister, who acted as her maid of honor and wore an American Beauty red taffeta bal- lerina-length dress with an over- skirt of net. she carried a mam- moth white chrysanthemum sur- rounded by baby mums and white streamers. A wreath of white baby mums was worn in her hair. Robert Gruntz, cousin of the groom, was best man. A recep- tion in the family home of the bride in Waterman Street, followed the wedding ceremony. Mixed gladioli baskets banked the arch- ways of the hall and bouquets of Fall flowers adorned the home. A centerpiece of roses flanked the mantel of the fireplace. The bridal table was centered with a wedding cake, topped by a bell, and the Misses Ruth Web- er, Geraldine Kinzly and Mrs. Wal- ter Trude assisted at the punch bowls. Mrs. Blonkowski, mother of the bride, wore a navy blue dress with navy accessories, and a corsage of white gardenias. The groom's mother wore a slate gray crepe dress and burgandy accessories, with a gardenia corsage. TRAVELING ENSEMBLE For her going away ensemble, the bride chose a champagne two- piece wool dress with black ac- cessories, black persian lamb fur coat, and white orchid corsage.
