Palmiter-Pokelwadt
Nuptials are Held
Zlon Lutheran church. Cayuga
drive, was the setting last Wednesday
afternoon for the wedding ceremony
uniting in marriage Miss
Shirley Loiuse Pokelwaldt to Mr,
Shlrlev B. Palmiter. Jr. The Rev.
O. F. Hover officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Pokelwaldt. 152
Eightieth street, and the bridegroom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
S. P. Palmiter. 204 Eightieth street.
Baskets of colored gladioli and
tall lighted candleabra decorated
the church for the ceremony.
Miss Virginia Wendt. at the organ,
provided the musical getting for the
wedding party with Mr. Paul Mehls.
soloist.
The bride, entering the church on
the arm of her father, wore a white
marquisette gown fashioned on colonial
lines with a high neckline,
long sleeves and hooped skirt. Her
veil fell from a crescent tiara of
seed pearls Into a full length train.
She carried a bouquet of white
roses centered with an orchid.
The wedding party Included Miss
Audrey Pokelwaldt, maid of honor:
Miss Annette Wendt, Miss Louise
Palmiter, bridesmaids: Miss Beverly
Pokelwaldt, flower girl: Mr. Robert
Jamieson. best man, and the Messrs.
Walter Breltenbach and Gerald
Walsh, ushers.
Immediately following the ceremony,
Mr. and Mrs. Palmiter. parents
of the bridegroom, held -a dinner
for the wedding group and for
the immediate family at their home.
Later in the evening a receptlon
for 200 guests was held at the Stone
Castle, restaurant. Ferry avenue.
After the reception the couple
left on a motor trip to New York
City. The bride traveled In a red
gabardine suit with white accessories
and an orchid corsage.
Upon their return Mr. and Mrs.
Palmiter will reside at Charleston.
S. C. where Mr. Palmiter is
tending Charleston university.
