SANBORN - St. Peter's Lutheran Church
was the setting for the Saturday (Aug. 6, 1966)
wedding of Miss Karen Elvira Haseley to Donald
W. Hicks. Rev. Luther Knauff performed
the double-ring ceremony uniting the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Haseley, 3109 Lockport
Road, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J.
Hicks, Bristol, Tenn.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her
father. She wore a white peau de soie gown
fashioned with scooped neckline, fitted bodice,
long sleeves and enhanced with Venise lace.
The dome skirt featured a detachable chapel
length train. A cluster of blossoms secured
her chapel length veil of silk illusion. She carried
a bouquet, of white roses and ferns with
a red rose center.
MRS. RALPH EWALD, sister of the bride
was matron of honor. Miss Judy Troyer was
maid of honor, and Mrs. Paul Beecher, Miss
Jean Haseley and Miss Sharon Shea were
bridesmaids. They wore identical long gowns
of white chiffon, with sleeveless bodice, accented
with a rose cumberbund and appliques.
Nieces of the bride, Janet Walck and Carol
Buerger were flower girls.
Jack L. Hicks was best man to his brother.
Brothers of the bride, Howard N. Haseley
Nelson F. Haseley ushered along with David
L. French and Albert V. Mendoza.
An evening dinner and reception was held
at the Twilight-Golf Restaurant.
After a wedding trip to Cape Cod the couple
will live in Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn.
