A wedding, pretty to its simplicity,
was solemnized Saturday afternoon at
3 o'clock at St Paul's Evangelical
Lutheran church, when Miss Gertrude
L. Wahl, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Adam Wahl, of LaSalle avenue,
became the bride of E Jerome Armbrust,
son of Mrs. Marie Armbrust, of
Sixth street The Rev. Gustave
Ziemer performed the ceremony before
an altar banked with palms and
baskets of cut garden flowers.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was lovely in ivory satin,
the gown being fashioned on princess
lines, with long tight sleeves finished
in points over the hands. Her long tulle
veil, which fell from a close fitted cap,
was held in place with a chin strap,
with clusters of orange blossoms on
either side. She carried a sheaf of
calla lilies. The matron of honor,
Mrs. R. Howard Pitts, sister of the
bride, wore a gown of blush lace over
taffeta with brown accessories and
carried an arm bouquet of Talisman
roses.
The bridegroom was attended by his
brother, L. Horton Armbrust, with R.
Howard Pitts and Jerome Ferdinand
as ushers.
Mrs. Wahl, mother of the bride,
wore a brown and white figured crepe
ensemble, with white accessories. Mrs.
Armburst, mother of the groom, chose
an oyster colored boucle drew with
brown accessories. Each wore a corsage
of roses afltt sweet peas.
Following the ceremony a reception
was held at the home of the bride
for members of the immediate families.
The bride's table, with covers
for 10, was centered with a threetier
wedding cake, flanked with ivory
tapers.
Mr. and Mrs. Armburst left on a
motor trip through the New England,
states, the bride traveling in a two
piece suit of chamois crepe with
brown accessories. On their return
they wil reside at 1744 LaSalle
avenue.
Pre-nuptial affairs for the bride
were variety showers by Miss Dorothy
Eddy and Mrs. Adam Wahl, a crystal
shower by the Misses Ann Findlay and
Lillian Fields, a linen shower by
Mrs. R. Howard Pitts and luncheon
by Miss Barbara Franklin.
