BETROTHAL ANNOUNCED: Mr. and Mrs. George A. Wescott,
Myrtle Ave., Rochester, announce the engagement of
their daughter, Diane Lee, to James J. Pieper, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Pieper, Miller St. Mr. Pieper served as sergeant
in the U.S. Marine Corps. A July 12 wedding is planned.

Miss Diane Lee Wescott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
George A. Wescott, 180 Myrtle St., Rochester, became
the bride of James J. Pieper, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Pieper, 180 Miller St., in a ceremony performed
July 12 in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church,
North Tonawanda.
The Rev. A. W. Moldenhauer officiated
before an altar decorated
with vases of white carnations.
The bride wore a floor-length
gown of white Chantilly lace over
silk with short sleeves, a scalloped
neckline and full skirt. A
crown of orange blossoms held her
fingertip veil of silk illusion. She
carried a cascade of white carna
tions centered with orchids.
Mrs. Robert Pieper, a cousin of
the bride, as maid-of-honor, wore
a ballerina gown of white nylon
shrimp color taffeta with a
matching headpiece and carried a
bouquet of shrimp color roses and
white carnations. S i m i l a r ly
dressed in white nylon over nile
green taffeta, was the bridesmaid,
Miss Janet Pohlman, the bride-
groom's niece. She carried yellow
roses and white carnations,
Robert Pieper attended his
brother as best man and Arthur
Wescott, brother of the bride, was.
the usher.
The bride's mother was attired
in a pink rayon dress with
white accessories and a corsage!
of white and pink carnations. The
bridegroom's mother also chose a
pink costume with white accesso-
ries and a pink and white carna-
tion corsage.
A reception was given in the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pie-
per, 935 Sweeney St. White carnations
and shrimp and yellow
roses and the tiered wedding cake
were decorations at the bride's
table.
After a wedding trip into Can-
ada, Mr. and Mrs. Pieper are at
home in 180 Miller St.
