Bannister-Swan
In the quaint little chapel of
St. John's Episcopal church In East
Aurora, a very pretty wedding took
place at high noon today when
Miss Barbara Swan, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Swan, of
Haeberle avenue, became the bride
of William J. Bannister, son of
Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bannister,
of East Woodlawn avenue. Buffalo.
The Rev. Mr. Morell, pastor of the
church, was the officiating clergyman.
The bride wore a floor-length
gown of rich dark velvet, the bod-
Ice of which was gracefully shirred
and with a V neckline. The sleeves
were short and shirred with puffed
effect. Her turban and accessories
were of matching shade, and her
corsage was of gardenias and baby's
breath.
Miss Jean Bannister, sister of the
groom, wore gown of sapphire blue
velvet, floor length, made on princess
lines, with matching turban
and accessories. Her corsage was
of talisman roses and baby's breath.
Melvln Baumhofer. of this city,
was the groom's best man.
The mother of the bride wore
margo crepe with a corsage of talisman
roses and the groom's mother
wore green crepe with matching
accessories and her corsage was of
tiny roses.
Following the quiet but Impressive
ceremony, a wedding dinner
was held at the Roy Croft Inn for
the wedding party and Immediate
friends. The table was arranged in
bridal white and at the bride's table
was a beautiful wedding cake.
Mr and Mrs. Bannister left on
a motor trip to Washington. D. C,
the bride traveling In a brown dress
with brown accessories and a Kent
green coat with rich fur collar On
their return they will reside at 284
Holden avenue, Buffalo.
Pre-nuptlal parties given for the
bride were; A crystal shower and
luncheon, given at the Oak Tea
Room by Miss Frances Dykstra.
cousin of. the bride; a dinner and
shower, given by the stenographic
department of the Carborundum
company at the General Brock hotel,
Niagara Falls, Ont.: Miss Roxy
Ely and Miss Rhea Tayer were
hostesses for the guest of honor at
a dinner and theater party and
shower, and Dr. George Nussbaum
entertained at a buffet supper party
at his home In Ontario avenue.
