A delightful wedding was solemnized
at the Carlton Baptist church,
Carlton. N. Y., when Miss Marie
Elsie Voelker, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Voelker, was united In
marriage to Mr. Charles Allen, .son
of Mr. and Mrs. James Allen, of
"The Bridge." N. Y.
The bride wore a navy blue suit
with white accessolres and a corsage
of gardenias.
Mrs. Paul Shafer was the bride's
only attendant. She was attired in
a beige suit with corsage of yellow
rosebuds.
Mr. Charles Billings, of "The
Bridges," N. Y., was the groom's
only attendant. Mr. Roy Voelker,
Jr., and Mr. Gordon Allen were
ushers.
The Rev. Lewis Brehaut and the
Rev. Robert Howland officiated at
the ceremony. A reception was held
at the bridegroom's home for 50
guests and a reception was held later
in the evening at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. C. Frits, in Carlton,
N. Y.
Before the wedding a variety
shower was given by Mrs. Lawrence
Voelker and a kitchen shower by
Mrs. Paul Shafer and Mrs. Maurice
St. Denny; also, the office girls of
the American Sales Book, of which
Miss Voelker was an employe, gave
a shower at the Imperial hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen are at home
at 712 Ninety-third street.
