YOUNGSTOWN. Sept. 4Many
entertainments are being given for
MISS Irene Taylor of Youngstown.
whose wedding to Byron Powell of
Model City will be solemnized In St.
John's Episcopal church on October 1.
Mrs. Le Roy Conger enterwlned at
a shower and bridge at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stottle.
Miss Alma Koch entertained at a
linen shower at her home on the River
road.
Miss Margaret Tower entertained at
a supper party and variety shower at
her home on Lockport road Tuesday
evening. August 28th. Twelve guests
were present.
Miss Marian Lutts entertained for
Miss Taylor Thursday evening, August
30. at a bridge and china shower. Fifteen
guests were present and four tables
of bridge were played. The guest of
honor was the recipient of many beau
tlful gifts. On Saturday afternoon Mrs.
Vincent Thompson entertained for Miss
Taylor at the Tuscarora Club In Wilson
at a bridge and dinner. Covers were
laid for twelve guests.
Tuesday evening. Sept. 4, Ml.ss Sara
Kinghorn will entertain at a bridge
and kitchen shower and Saturday evening,
Sept. 8. Miss Genevleve Argy of
Niagara Falls will entertain for Miss
Taylor.
ALSO
The marriage of Miss J. Irene Taylor,
daughter of Mrs. Charles Taylor, to
Byron Thomas Powell, was solemnized
at high noon on Monday, October 1st,
at St. John's Episcopal church,
Youngstown, N. Y., Rev. J. H. Sheppard
officiating. The church was artistically
decorated with palms and
clusters of autumn flowers on either
side of the altar. While the guests
were assembling, Mr. Howard Kay sang
"At Dawning," accompanied at the organ
by Mrs. Albert M. Taylor.
The bride, who was given In marriage
by her brother, F. Park Taylor,
wore a becoming gown of white georgette.
Her veil of embroidered net was
arranged cap fashion and fastened at
the sides with orange blossoms and she
carried a lovely shower bouquet of
bridal roses and lilies of the valley. The
maid of honor, Miss Hertha Klnghorn
of New York City, was gowned in pink
organdie and carried a colonial bouquet.
The bridesmaids, Misses Alma
Koch and Genevieve Argy, wore orchid
organdie and also carried colonial bouquets.
The flower girl, little Miss Dorothy
Taylor, the bride's niece, wore a
dainty frock of white organdie and carried
a basket of garden flowers. Walter
Sattleberg acted as best man and
the ushers were Louis Calladlne and
Albert M. Taylor.
Mrs Charles Taylor, mother of the
bride, wore navy georgette. The groom's
mother was gowned in black crepe
satin.
A reception followed the ceremony
at the bride's home. About fifty guests
were present, Among the out-of-town
guests wore Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Taylor
and daughter, Dorothy, of Rochester,
N. Y.; Mr- Roland Wlsmer, Mrs. Frank
Doney, Mr. and Mrs. Fraser of Buf-!
falo, N. 'Y., and Miss Marlon Lutts of
Brockport, N. Y. i
After a motor trip to New York City
and Boston, Mr. and Mrs. Powell will
be at home at Lewiston, N.Y.
