Miss Gertrude Voelker. of this
city, daughter of Mr. Fred Voelker,
of Lockport. was united in marriage on
November 28 to Private Wilifred
L. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. War-
ren Smith, of Wilson, N.Y., at Wil-
son, in the presence of the imme-
diate families, with Father Roche
officiating.
The bride was charming in a
street-length dress of burgundy,
trimmed with white lace, black accessories
and a corsage of roses and
sweet peas.
The matron of honor, Miss Marion
Kagels. of Newfane, N. Y.. wore
a street-length dress of luggage tan
with brown accessories and a cor-
sage of roses and sweet peas.
Mr. Leroy Smith acted as his
brother's best man.
Immediately after the ceremony
a wedding dinner was served at the
Park hotel. Lockport. where covers
were laid for 20. Later the wedding
party gathered at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Francis Frltton, where
lunch was served.
On Wednesday evening a wedding
reception for 50 friends and relatives
was held at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Glenn Myers, of North
Lake street, Wilson. The bride's
table seating eight, was decorated
in military colors and flags. The
table was centered with a threetiered
wedding cake, topped with a
bride and bridegroom and flanked
on either side with candles. A delicious
lunch was served and danc-.
ing was enjoyed.
Private and Mrs. Smith received
many useful gifts.
Private Smith will return Sunday
to Florida where he will be sta-
tioned with Battery D, Fort Bar-
rancas, Florida.
