Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bars,
317 Ontario St., Lockport,
were honored Sunday at a
reception at Terry's Corners
Fire Hall upon the occasion
of their 50th wedding ananiversary.
Gold and white decor was
highlighted by fall flowers
and Mrs. Doris Ramming
played the organ for the
event hosted by the couple's
children:
Richard Bars of Terry's
Corners, Clayton Bars of
Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport,
Mrs. Evelyn Payne of
Barker, Mrs. Ethel Ogden
of Newfane, John Bars of
Erie Street, Lockport and
Mrs. Barbara Daskavitz of
Lincoln Avenue Ext., Lockport.
Mr. and Mrs. Bars, who
previously resided on Kinne
Road, Lockport, for 41
years, were married Oct.
14, 1S22 by the Rev. A. G.
Wall at his Salt Road
parsonage.
Dorothy ° Bars Bell and
Howard J. Neumann, their
attendants, were present at
the Sundav festivities.
Bom Feb. 21, 1904 in
Clarence Center, Mrs. Bars
is the daughter of Charles
Fredrick and Barbara Groll
Neumann of Rapids.
Mr. Bars was bom Sept.
14, 1896, in the Town of
Rovalton, the son of John
and Elizabeth Altrogge Bars
of Ravmond Hill. He was
a farmer until 1959 when
he went to work for Niagara
County, retiring in 1966.
The coutrle has 13 grandchildren
and four great -
grandchildren.
