BARKER. N. Y., Nov. 2.-A lovely
candlelight wedding was solemnized
on Daturday evening, October 27,
at 7:30 o'clock at the Somerset
Union Methodist church when Miss
Frances Ella Rhodes, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. L. Henry Rhodes, of
West Lake road, became the bride
of Mr. Earl K. Dickinson, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Willford Dickinson,
of Woodstock, Ont., the double ring
ceremony being performed by the
Rev. Marcum B. May, pastor of the
church.
The church was beautiful with the
chancel decorated with silver
candelabra, behind the open Bible,
flanked on either side by tall
candles banked with baskets of
large white chrysanthemums and
white pom-poms. Mrs. Mary Tay-
lor Rhodes, of Warren's Corners,
N.Y., played a program of music
preceding the ceremony, following
with the wedding music. Miss Joan
Wass, of Barker, sand "Because,"
before the ceremony, and "I Love
You, "Truly" during the service.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, was lovely
in a white gown, made with a fit-
ted satin bodice, sweetheart neck-
line and full puffed sleeves coming
to a point over the wrists and with
a wkirt of neonine, fashioned with
a long train. Her finger tip veil,
of Chinese silk, caught to a beaaded
crown, was made of material sent
to her from North Africa by the
groom while he was stationed there.
She wore three strands of pearls
with matching earrings also the gift
of the groom and carried a shower
bouquet of white roses, pom-poms
and stephanotis.
The matron-of-honor, Mrs. Evelyn
D. Riley, of Barker, a cousin of the
bride, was gowned ln an ice blue
dress made with a satin bodice,
sweetheart neckline, bracelet length
sleeves and full net skirt. She wore
a tiara of yellow roses in her hair
and carried a bouquet of yellow
roses, chrysanthemums and pompoms.
The bridesmaids. Mrs. Harrlette
S. Anderson, of Niagara Falls, N.
Y.. and Miss M. Onalee Rhodes, a
sister of the bride, wore gowns of
pink neonlne, while Miss D. Eleanor
Rhodes, another sister, wore a
dress of Ice blue neonlne. all made
alike with fitted bodice and high
round neckline. Little Linda R
Deltrich, of Barker, a cousin of
the bride, wearing a floor length
dress of pink taffeta with a full
skirt, was the flower girl The
brides brother. Daniel Rhodrv was
the rinh bearer, carrying the rings
on a white satin pillow.
The groom was attended bv his
brother. Mr. Russell W Dickinson
of Lockport. while the ushers were
O. Oordon Rhodes, brother of the
bride, and Harold and Warren
Znnow. of Barker.
The bride's mother wore a twoptece
gown of Burgundy velvet and
the groom's mother wore a black
crepe costume, both wearing mixed
corsages of roses and pom-poms.
Immediately following the cere-
mony, a reception to 300 relatives
and friends was held in the church
parlors. Mixed baskets and vases of
garden flowers were used for dec-
oration.
The bride chose for her travel-
ing costume, a three-piece suit of
grey wool with black accessories
and wore a corsage of gladiolus,
roses and pompoms. After a motor
trip through Canada, they will
make their home in Lockport.
Out-of-town guests were present
from Woodstock, Ont., Ashtabula,
Ohio, Buffalo, Avon, Lockport, Lyn-
donville and Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Pre-nuptial events included show-
ers by the Woman's Society of
Christian Service of the Somerset
church at the church parlors, and
by Mrs. Evelyn Riley at her home
at Barker.
The groom has just received his
discharge from the army after serv-
ing for five years in England, Af-
rica, Sicily, Corsica and Italy.
