Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church was the sett

Ave., became t h e bride of Howard Charles Ackerman, son
of Mr. and Mrs. A r t h u r Ackerman, 17 H a r r i e t St.
The Rev. Marvin Rickert. assist-
ed by the Rev. Clarence Braun,
officiated. As a background for
ceremony, the sanctuary was
adorned with palms and the altar
was enhanced with white gladioli
and white candles.
Mrs. Evelyn Cary Miller was the
organist and the Chancel Choir
sang -The Lord's Prayer ", "The
23rd Psalm" and "Wedding Bene-
diction."
Given in marriage by her fathee,
the bride wore a floor length dress
of embroidered nylon tulle The
snug fitting bodice was designed
with a scalloped neckline and short
sleeves A redingote effect at the
front featured the skirt which tell
in alternating rows of embroidered
nylon lace into a chapel length
train. Her elbow length veil was
caught to a crown of pearlized
lace. She carried a lace covered
cross with. white rosebuds and a
white orchid.
Attendants for the bride- were
Miss Carol Payne, maid of honor;
Mrs. Ruth Hering. Mrs Shirley
Reinbolt and Miss Phyllis Waterstrat,
bridesmaids and Miss Ruth
Pfanner. the bride's sister, as junior
bridesmaid
The maid of honor and junior
bridesmaid wore waltz length
gowns with white lace bodices and
aqua net skirts over aqua taffeta.
terminating in white lace scallops
at the hemline The bridesmaids
wore identically styled dresses
over coral taffeta. All carried
White Bibles covered uith white
roses and chrysanthemum-
Attendants for the bridegroom
were John Nowark, best man. and
Howard Giese, Franklin Wenske
and Richard Stevenson, ushers.
The bride's mother selected a
powder blue brocade dress and
blue sequined hat with black ac-
cessories as her costume. The
bridegroom's mother chose a navy
blue taffeta dress with rose acces-
sories. their corsages were of
pink roses with touches of blue.
A reception for 350 guests was
given in the Bergholz Community
Hall. Out-of-town guests attended
from Detroit, Mich., Merriton,
Ont., St. Catharines, Ont. and East
Aurora.
After a wedding trip to the Po-
cono Mountain resort "The Farm
on the Hill," Mr. and Mrs. Ack-
erman are at home in 623 East
Thompson St.
