A Mass was celebrated Monday
St. Paul's Church in celebration
of the 40th wedding anniversary
of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
Beiter of Victoria Blvd.
Among the guests at a reception
later in the day at Lyon's Tea
Room, Clarence, were Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Johel and Mrs. Elizabeth
Neubecker. Mr. Johel was
an attendant at the couple's wedding
Sept. 7, 1920, at Good Shepherd
Church, Pendleton.
Also present were their children,
Mrs. Robert Metzinger, A l f r ed
Beiter, Kenneth Beiter and Francis
Beiter; their son-in-law a nd
three daughters-in-law.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Beiter of Kenmore will celebrate
their golden wedding anniversary on Labor Day with a Mass at
noon in St. Paul's Church.
The Rev. Albert Winter of Lockport, who married the
couple 50 years ago, will celebrate the Mass. Father Winter is
Mrs. Beiter's first cousin.
A reception will follow at the Alfred Jurek Legion Post in
Amherst.
Mr. and Mrs. Beiter were married Sept. 7, 1920, at Good
Shepherd Church in the Town of Pendleton where they both
resided. They moved to Kenmore soon after their marriage
and have been local residents since then.
Mr. Beiter started as a truck driver for the Village of
Kenmore in 1927. He later became Water Department
supervisor, a position he held until his retirement in 1961. He is
still active as an usher at St. Paul's Church.
Their three sons, Alfred, Kenneth and Francis Beiter and
the family of their late daughter, Virginia Beiter Metzinger,
along with 23 grandchildren, will join Mr. and Mrs. Beiter in
celebrating their anniversary.
