- Hempstead NY Sentinel - 10/10/1918
A very pretty wedding ceremony
took place at the parsonage of the
Rev. William Barker, Saturday even
ing October 5th, when Miss Margaret
M. Bell of Hempstead became the
bride of James E. Hill also of Hempstead.
Miss Augusta Seaman had
the honor of being brides maid while
Lawrence H. Bell, a brother of the
bride of Buffalo, N. Y.,- served as
best man. A surprise overtook the
bride and groom when they arrived
home. They found friends had gathered
during their absence; decorated
the house for the occasion and
were ready to serve the bridal supper.
After extending their congratulations
to the couple and giving
them a rice shower the guests departed
each declaring their wishes
for another couple Ao be joined in
matrimony so that they would be
able to enjoy themselves over again
as they did that night The groom
is employed in the establishment of
Doubleday Page & Co., Garden City.
Mr. and Mrs. Hill will make their future
home at 78 Grove street in this
village.
