ENGAGED-Mr. and Mrs. Harry
A. Dobie, Fifty-seventh street, announce
the engagement of their
daughter, Phyllis Anne, to Mr.
Carl E. McGee, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Jesse U. McGee, Military
road.
The wedding will take place in
November.

A lovely fall wedding was solemn-
ized at the First Christian church
Saturday when Miss Phyllis Anne
Dobie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Harry A. Dobie, 197 Fifty-seventh
street, became the bride of Mr. Carl
Edward McGee, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Jesse U. McGee, Town of Niagara.
The Rev. Jesse J. Simoson officiated
at the double-ring ceremony.
The church was tastefully decorated
with palms and white and yellow
mums. Large candelabra provided
soft light for the service.
The musical setting was provided
by Mr. Samuel Williams, cousin of
the bride, wht sang. "At Dawning"
and "I Love You Truly," before the.
service and "The Lord's Prayer"
during the ceremony. He was accompanied
by Mrs. Margaret Lloyd
Williams, also a cousin of the bride,
at the organ.
The bride, who was given in marriage
by her father, was attired in
a gown of candlelight satin made
on princess lines with a panel of fine
lace starting at the shoulders and
tapering down the skirt. The long
sleeves were edged with matching
lace and the full skirt fell in grace-,
ful lines to the floor, extending into
a cathedral length train. Her veil
of finest illusion edged in satin to
match the gown fell gracefully from
a bonnet-like crown of Chantilly lace
trimmed with seed pearls. She carried
a white prayer book and white
orchids.
The maid of honor, Miss Mary
Lou Bcrns, wore a gown of aqua
satin with a net over' skirt and a
matching picture hat. She carried a
cascade bouquet of white and bronze
baby mums.
Miss Janice Faith Lamb, bridesmaid,
was dressed similarly in yellow
and carried a yellow and orchid
cascade bouquet. Miss Estelle Davis,
bridesmaid, was in orchid.
The junior bridesmaid, Miss Carol
Englert, niece of the bride, wore a
baby blue gown of taffeta and a capstyle-
bonnet to match. She carried
a colonial bouquet of baby mums.
The flower girl, Margie Hewitt, niece
of the bridegroom, wore a coral pink
organdy floor-length gown and a
matching bonnet. She carried a
colonial bouquet.
John Menkcna, cousin of the bride
and ring bearer, carried
on a white satin pillow.
Mr. Charles Carrier'was the best
man. Mr. James Dobie, brother of
the bride, and Mr. W'elfred McGee,
brother of the bridegroom, were the
ushers.
The bride's mother chose a floorlength
gown of jade green satin in
an off-the-shoulder style with a jade
lace jacket. She wore white acces-
sories and her corsage was of baby
mums and roses.
The bridegroom's mother Vore a
floor-length gown of raspberry shade
with black accessories and a corsage
of baby mums and roses.
The bride's grandmother, Mrs. Lillian
Lloyd, wore a black crepe gown
with a Chantilly-type lace yoke over
pink taffeta with matching accessories.
Her corsage was of roses and
baby mums.
After the ceremony, the reception
was held in the church parlors for
300 guests. The room was decorated
with baskets of mums and roses with
white .wedding bells and streamers.
The hostess table was decorated with
flowers and candles and centered with
a three-tier wedding cake.
For the honeymoon trip to Canada,
the bride wore a dress of gray and
lavender wool, with a lavender top
and a cape like jacket, her accessories
were of gray suede and her
corsage was white orchids.
The young couple will be at the
bride's home until November 26,
when they will leave for Denver
where they will make their home.
