CLIFTON SPRINGS - The Wesleyan
Methodist Church, Bristol St.,
Canandaigua. was the scene Aug.
8 of a pretty summer wedding
when Miss Mary Jane Darlng,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis
Darling, Clifton Springs, became
the bride of Lester Palmer Blow
ers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton
Blowers, Caledonia.
The vows were received by the
Rev. B. F. Wilson, pastor, in a setting
of palms and pink gladioli
Organist was Mrs. B. F. Wilson
The vocalist. Mrs. Louise Campbell,
sister of the bridegroom, sang,,
O Perfect Love, I Love You Truly,
and At Dawning.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, was at-
tired in a gown of ivory satin with
a fitter bodice of rose point lace
with long sleeves, pointed at the
wrist, and a full skirt entrain. Her
fingertip veil of illusion fell from
a scalloped headpiece of satin
trimmed with seed pearls. She car-
ried a colonial bouquet of white
rosebuds and carnations.
Groom's Sister Attendant
Miss Lynette Blowers, Caledonia.
sister of the bridegroom, was maid'
of honor. Bridesmaids were also
his sisters: Miss Genevieve Blowers,
Caledonia and Miss Zina;
Blowers, Batavia. Flower g i r ls
were Peggy Reed, Avon, niece of
the bridegroom, and Linda Burgess,
Clifton Springs, cousin of
the bride.
Lawrence Blowers, Scottsville,
was best man for his brother. Ushers
were Eldon Blowers, Batavia.
brother of the bridegroom, and
William Darling, Clifton Springs,
brother of the bride.
A reception for 200 guests was
held at the Methodist Church, Main
St., Canandaigua, with the rooms;
decorated with white and pink
summer flowers.
Following a weeks wedding trip
to the Adirondacks, the young
couple will reside in Houghton,
where they will attend Houghton
College.
Many Guests Present
Guests were present from Avon,
Caledonia, Clifton Springs, Canandaigua,
Troy, Geneva, Newark,
Seneca Falls, Rochester. Batavia,
Illinois, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
The bride is a graduate of Clifton
Springs Central School. The
bridegroom is a graduate of Cal
donia Mumford High School.
Prenuptial events included a
shower by members of the Wesleyan
Methodist Church, Canandaigua,
a shower by members of the
Wesleyan Methodist Church, Avon,
a shower by her classmates at the
home of Miss Marguerite Carniaux,
and a shower by the attendants at
the home of the bridegroom.
