Mr. and Mrs. P h i l ip
Nichols, 225 S. Ninth St.,
Lewiston, will be honored
Saturday at an open house
reception marking their 50th
wedding anniversary.
Mr. Nichols and his wife,
the former Mabel Broeker,
are both lifelong residents of
this area. They were married
Oct. 27, 1920 at the home of
the bride in the Town of Porter,
with the Rev. Paul Gutnecht
of Trinity Lutheran
Church officiating.
Mrs. Ada Kolloff Broeker,
who was maid of honor, will
attend the party. The late
Clarence Broeker, brother of
the bride, was best man.
The open house reception
will be held Saturday from
6 to 10 p.m. at Lewiston Fire
Hall, for relatives and friends
of the couple.
Mr. Nichols, a World War
I veteran, retired from the
Town of Lewiston Highway
Department in 1967, after 43
years of service.
Mr. and Mrs. Nichols have
three children, Floyd Nichols
and Mrs. John ( S h i r l e y)
Somers, this city, and Mrs.
Bruce (Gail) S p r o u l,
Stoughton, Mass.; four
grandchildren, and a stepgranddaughter.
