St. Francis of Assisi Church was the setting for a
pretty wedding Oct. 6 at 10 a.m.. when Miss Mary Jean
Redfield, daughter of Mrs. Charlotte Redfield of Sommer
St. became the bride of Richard George Fix of Ellicott
Creek Rd. The Rev. Francis Trapp performed the cere-
mony before the altar which was decorated with white
gladioli and chrysanthemums.
A gown of white atin with fit-
ted bodice and softlly fathered
skirt was worn by the bride. Ap
lique of seed pearls outlined the
sweetheart neckline and an in-
sertion of illusion in the skirt.
Her fingertip veil fell from a
Juliet cap trimmed with seed
pearls. She carried white roses
and chrusanthemums centered
with an orchid.
Mrs. William Bowman was her
sister's matron of honor. She
wore a gown of American beauty
lace, matching lace mitts and a
bonnet of flowers. She carried
yellow roses and chrsanthe-
mums.
Mr. Charles Pastor, brother-in-
law of the bridegroom, was the
best man.
A grey crepe dre with har-
monizing accessories was the at-
tire chosen by the bride's mother
and the bridegroom's sister, Mrs.
Winnifred Carroll woe a navy
blue suit with matching acces-
sories. Orcids complimented
their ensembles.
Tall white taper and a cen-
terpiece of Fall flowers deco-
rated the bride's table for the
wedding dinner in the Isle View, La-
ter 200 guests attended re-
ception in Eagles' Home, ela-
ware St. Guests were preent
from the Tonawandas, Kenmore,
Buffalo, Williamsville and Niag-
ara Falls.
For a wedding trip to the
Thousand Islands and Lake Pla-
cid the bride wore a black and
white suit with green accesor-
ies and an orchid corsage.
Prenuptial parties were gien
by Mrs. William Bowman,, Mrs.
James Redfield and Mrs.
Charlotte Redfied.. Sisters of
the bridegoom are planning a
party for the recent bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Fix are at home
in 265 Sommer St. The latter
a member of the United States
Naaval Reserve is stationed at
the Naval Air Base, Niagara
Falls. Mrs. Fix is emloyed at
the Rudolf Wurlitzer Company.
